Exchange rate can cause the price of petrol which is dependent on it to fluctuate.

How is increase in price of petrol increasing demand for forex!? It should mean less, as people drive less. The roads in Lagos have been a bit freer in recent months and folks drive less.

We better all learn to conduct business online. And make money passively or online too.

All these reports don't make sense to me. Since like 2015 when Buhari entered office, NNPC has been the SOLE importer of PMS into the country.

So where are these various Marketers associations getting so called landing cost from if they are not actually importing anything Abi na from excel template dem dey calculate am??

I don't totally agree with this initiative, tolling in this part of the world has always been a safehaven for corruption with Nigerians paying so much while some government officials and their allied smile to the bank.

What else can the government offer Nigerians for free?

As an individual, you pay your income tax, VAT and other government and service providers open and secret charges and you still have to power your Generator for light, pay for private neighbourhood security, get your water, fix the damages on your cars caused by bad roads, Police,LASTMA,VIO,Road safety etc will still do theirs.

Even with your hard-earned money, you are not sure of any safety as you could be easily kidnapped and police will tell you to go and corporate with the criminals.

What values are Nigerians getting from the government?

The problem is not really the price of petrol or electricity. It's the low incomes.

The ear of government giving us free or heavily subsidised electricity, petrol, kerosene, education, healthcare, is almost over. Nigeria has gone from a rich country of the 60's and 70's to a poor country now.

In the 70's we were doing 2mln barrels with a population of maybe 50mln. Now we are doing 1.5mln barrels with a population of 220mln. Meanwhile $1 of 1975 is equivalent to $5.85 today.

The only thing I would subsidise is education and healthcare

We need to put a law in place to make the following unlawful:

Solidarity strikes
Strikes where the striking body has no specific grievance
The electricity sector should be declared as a national strategic sector and therefore excluded from strike

Nigerian news is often the most disconnected news in the world. One never seems to know the full story of how 2 related news items connect.

Case in point:

NNPC says with petrol production at Dangote refinery, petrol queues will start disappearing by weekend.

Meanwhile Dangote refinery says as at yesterday 5th Sept, NNPC has not lifted a single litre of petrol from its refinery!!!

If they exports refined crude, fine. That's because inflow of dollar/forex will increase supply and relax the demand from Dangote himself. Two forces moving in two directions to create a double sided Naira strengthening effect.

Let's hope so! Nigeria is a case of the more you look the less you see!!
