LibertyRep:This tiny thing na Orasanye report? |
Kobicove:. Honestly I agree that the 5% cannot break telecom operators. That said they should be able to increase the tarrif. Telecoms is an almost inelastic product, so it won't make much difference to peoples consumption , considering how important data is to daily life now. |
ricson11:Which power plant and where is it? Sounds like hot air to me |
Ebubu2:Because Lagos has the market to support it dummy! Una no dey think at all? Its purely based on commerciality and financial viability! |
Shadomaan7:On what basis? Just pray war does not break out in middle east that sends crude to $120 per barrel Na that time una go hear shege. Petrol will be like N1400 and diesel like N1700 |
InfoGuru118:Left to me, civil service should be reduced by 30% in next 4 years at the minimum. |
Ofunaofu:Which kind of silly logic is Joe putting forward? NNPC is selling at the cost it bought from Dangote, plus mark up. How is that setting the price for Dangote? |
LOVEALAIGBO:Perhaps!! With all our plenty sins in the following areas: ritual killing yahoo. yahoo drugs kidnapping fornication and adultery runs and hookup (nicer names for prostitution) |
iwaeda:Which useless report is this? Full of anonymous reports that cant be substantiated! Exchange rate can cause the price of petrol which is dependent on it to fluctuate. How is increase in price of petrol increasing demand for forex!? It should mean less, as people drive less. The roads in Lagos have been a bit freer in recent months and folks drive less. We better all learn to conduct business online. And make money passively or online too. |
Cromagnon:Which Nigerian construction giant do we have? |
palsenator:What is this obsession with DStV? So Rice, Beans, Bread, Petrol, Diesel, Rent, Transport have all gone up by 200%+ in the last 1year, but when DsTV and Starlink do their own na problem. |
slimfit1:No it does NOT!! There is a cost to exploring, appraising, developing and producing crude. These boys are only in business because they are STEALING crude that other companies have worked and spent billions for. Crude is not FREE |
Cmanforall:Don't be daft. Nigerian refineries not working because we all insist on buying petrol at a subsidized price, lower than its cost, that kills businesses. meanwhile these local boys steal the crude, so their cost is almost zero. You cannot even compare the 2 |
LegendHero:They should focus on their proper mandate of securing our border, enforcing smuggling bans and enforcing the trade, import and export rules. Too many of our agencies are focused on revenue collection aspect of their work, instead of the supervisory and regulatory aspect. |
Atuero:I doubt even Peter Obi is that man. |
soartrends:I find it really disgusting when past presidents who had so much executive power, the end of their tenors start talking solutions to problems they could have fixed while they were in office |
Wisdomkosi:All these reports don't make sense to me. Since like 2015 when Buhari entered office, NNPC has been the SOLE importer of PMS into the country. So where are these various Marketers associations getting so called landing cost from if they are not actually importing anything Abi na from excel template dem dey calculate am?? |
WeddingParol:You ask what value you are getting from government?? The dirt cheap petrol you have been enjoying for decades is what?? The dirt cheap electricity you have been enjoying for decades is what?? The dirt cheap education you have been enjoying for decades is what?? The dirt cheap healthcare you have been enjoying for decades is what?? Even the subsidized Lagos Ibadan train is what?? |
nairavsdollars:Still refusing to read the article. But looking at your profile, I'm not surprised. The article speaks to diesel, you are here talking petrol!! |
mohbadliveson:Did you read the article at all!! |
Zulu11zulu:Nigerians like conspiracy theories sha!!! Do terrorists ideologies make sense anywhere in the world? What did Osama gain from the destruction of the Twin Towers? Some of the Nonsense we like to Believe: Generator cabal is why we don't have electricity - Now that electricity has improved dramatically because it is now APPROPRIATELY PRICED and sector is far more liquid, cabal didn't scatter it! Importers cabal is why we have fuel scarcity - But diesel that has been deregulated and never had scarcity in over 10 YEARS, cabal no near that one? Only petrol abi? Nigeria wont follow the basic economic principles to get things to work, but we will be shouting cabal up and down. |
oluwaseyi0:Boko Haram dey one village dey wait una?? Senseless!! |
sewa36447:You need to study economics and study it well!! |
Kukutenla:All the equipment, technology and expatriate manpower used to develop the gas, did you pay them in Naira? Now you know the benefit of having a functional steel industry, which we don't have. |
chrisxxx:No we can't actually. Before you say what of Saudi or UAE or Qatar, let's just have a discussion about the population of those countries compared to ours. Then we'll move to how much they produce in oil relative to us, then we'll see if we are really comparable at all. It's like comparing a man earning N2mln a month with a wife and 2 kids And another man earning N2mln with 3 wife's and 11 kids and wondering why the second man can't afford the same things as the first guy . |
Phranx1:Honestly!! |
He didn't tell us if he used a condom or not though |
nlfpmod:Damn!!! But the girl is fine sha!! |
Newlymarried:The problem is not really the price of petrol or electricity. It's the low incomes. The ear of government giving us free or heavily subsidised electricity, petrol, kerosene, education, healthcare, is almost over. Nigeria has gone from a rich country of the 60's and 70's to a poor country now. In the 70's we were doing 2mln barrels with a population of maybe 50mln. Now we are doing 1.5mln barrels with a population of 220mln. Meanwhile $1 of 1975 is equivalent to $5.85 today. The only thing I would subsidise is education and healthcare |
eyesoflagos:Where is Linda Ikeji these days sef!? Babe is extremely quiet these days. |
SpyMaster1:Projects we want to see China assist Nigeria with: Ibadan - Abuja standard rail line Lagos green metro line - Marina to Lekki Mambilla 3000MW Hydro dam Floating 250MW Solar plant on Lagos Lagoon China reportedly put $50bln on offer for Africa. If Nigeria doesn't take between $7bln- $10bln of that amount, then Tinubu has failed. |
etrouble:Its not just about those coming from outside. If the staff refuse to work or shut it down, will you shoot them too? |
