Nothing weird or bizarre about this. I think the little one swallowed the feather and being a foreign body, it must find its way out of the body. I remember falling into a fallen palm tree when i was a kid and was pierced by so many thorns which I pulled out but one particular one on my hand entered my body and the body sealed up. No blood came out and I couldn't see any point of entry but i knew it was there because i could feel it when i torch my hand and it was quite painful too. being scared of cutting myself to pull it out, I left it there without telling anyone as I was scared of being beaten. The torn stayed in my body for 2 -3 weeks and the particular point got swollen and quite ripe, my mum thought it was a boil and opened it to remove the pores but the torn stick came out with the pores and that was the end. |
I used to have hope that one day, Nigeria would wake up and take its place in the comity of nations. How wrong I have been. If the educated Nigerians are what is being represented here, then hope is indeed lost. So much hatred, so much hatred, so much hatred yet we are all praying for a good nation. @ Seun Osewa, So sad you have turned Nairaland into what it is today. What happened and how could you allow this forum degenerate into what it is today? This should have been an instrument of INTEGRATION but the opposite is the case now. Please what happened to FORUM rules and regulations and sanctions in the case of violation? This forum is a typical example of the Nigerian nation as it is managed and its so sad that non nigerians would log into this sight only to see and read all that is being said here. Pretty sad. Seun please wake up and do the right thing before it gets late. |
I know of a lady who locks her phone yet always wants to access the husbands phone until the husband got angry and started locking his own. Now its a quarrel in the house, The woman wants the husband to stop locking his phone while she is not ready to unlock her's neither did she give any reason. What happens in a case like this? |
Its surprising hearing many pple here saying this practice is not true. It is a culture in Igboland that any woman married into a house or family must respect and greet everyone she met in the family once that one is not a toddler. This is why many married women even 20 years older than I am still greet me and call me "nne anyi" each time I go home or visit them. what i think is important here is striking a balance,The fact that these women greet me doesn't mean I don't greet them in return or disrespect them. What is important is understanding that what the person is doing is just an act of respect as custom demands so importance shouldn't be attached to it. In this way, both the person greeting and the person being greeted are quite free with it. I don't know about the issue of calling them Aunties as the name is not even Igbo per say but it all depends on the pple you are calling that. A sensible woman would also call you back Aunty knowing you are older than her just to balance the equation. So my friend, Am from Imo state and it is Igbo tradition. If your In-laws have respect, they will greet you back but if they don't and its a family that is particular about the greeting, well you have to. Its otherwise when pple on their own decide not to implement it. If this becomes a big quarrel and your to take it to your family, am sure elders will tell you that is tradition. The onus lies on whomever wants to practice it or not. |
Happy to hear, means am gona watch this years Ultimate Search. |

@ Poster, Who says Ecobank doesn't operate moneygram? That's not true. I received money through moneygram via ecobank just last month. It is true that you have to withdraw from your bank because I also went to UBA but was asked to bring a Surety or go to my bank for the withdrawal and i tell you it didn't take me more than 10 mins.to pick up my money from Oceanic now Ecobank.I think the problem is that you are sort of naive. On the other hand, what exactly does these bank mangers do if they cant put their eyes down and see what happens in their branches. How was the money withdrawn without owning an account or signing a guarantor form which is the CBN stipulation? Did the Bank Guy sign the guarantor form himself? his signature should be traceable or did he forge one? That's fraud. You made a mistake, Did he tell you he was going to remove that amount from the onset? besides it was an oral agreement. You shouldn't have left the bank without meeting their manager. If I were in your shoes, I would have gone straight to the manager and perhaps you would have gotten your money complete. |

I think I agree with Kobo, how possible is it that the SSS gave Lawan marked dollars, allowed him to go with the money but did not plant a tracking devise or atleast spy on him to ascertain the use/lodgement of the dollars? This is not possible in my reasoning knowing the state of Nigeria and big wig corruption cases that never amount to anything tangible in terms of prosecution, there was no way the SSS would have lost track of this money if at all it was given by the them. |
To me the Nigerian govt is the problem with the country. No society exists outside rules, regulations, laid down procedures or laws and these must be seen to be enforceable for them to be effective. Man by nature is brutish and the instict is survival of the fittest. this is why there must be laws which are seen to be effective. These laws become guides to acceptable ways of life in a society and deviants must be punished as a detterant to future occurance. For instance, if I go out to buy a biscuit from a little boy and I see that I can actually keep my money, collect the biscuit from the boy and if he talks I beat him on top, why should I pay for the biscuit then? The only reason I would pay for the biscuit is because I know I would be comitting a crime which attracts a purnishment of which I wouldn't want. Also tAke the case of family where a little child is born and grows to tell mom or dad waka without knowing the consequences, it takes correction for the little child to know that waka should not be said. The family here is the govt and the little child are nigerians. Its only what is permissible by the law and also purnishable that will guide the behaviour of the society Today our govt has made it possible that laws are made for the poor only so once u have money u are above the law. Overtime this becomes a social fact and determines individuals course of action in the society. |
This meeting if actually held has nothing to do with 2015. My God, how can Nigerians be thinking that of all the bombings at the moment, GEJ is thinking about 2015? I don't agree with this. The meeting is about National Security and perhaps GEJ is upto some kind of hard decision which needs collaboration from the southwest. My only prayer is that he be able to take the bull by the horn and take that decision whatever the outcome. Better take a bad decision and see that it didnt work than not taking any at all at all. |
Really wana know how this works. I spend all my day on the net and have been wondering if there is something to do online to maximize my time. Anybody who can help me understand the nitty gritty of this online business stuff should drop his/her contact for me. Only serious minded people who have been in the biz and have the experience. Hum! Now am beginning to believe this Illuminati theory. This is if trully D'bang has joined the crew of J-Z and co. It might actually be true this is the reason for the split, perhaps Don J doesnt really want to sell his soul. Better a pauper than serving "Lusibaby" as JZ calls him all in the name of fame. |
One good thing though, the Govt is being represented, at least they will have to pay legal fees. |
Oil Subsidy: What Jonathan Knew About The N1.76trillion Payment? Information recently made available to 247ureports.com through sources within the power corridors of the federal capital of Nigeria, Abuja, indicates that there appear jolting intricacies laden within the sudden quantum-like spike in oil subsidy payments to select oil marketers/importers during the period immediately preceeding the presidential elections of April 2011 [February to April 2011] and the period immediately following the said elections [April to August 2011] – which coincided with the arrival of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala as the Finance Minister for the Ministry of Finance in August 17, 2011. A principal and knowledgeable source within the Jonathan administration indicates that the sudden “quantum-leap” in the payment of oil subsidy payments was not a mistake. “The President knew about it” said the source who explained that fake submissions for oil subsidy payments were approved and disbursements were made – and the monies were used towards financing the President’s election of 2011. On the afternoon of January 11, 2011, two days to the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] presidential primaries at the Eagles Square in Abuja, the source, pointed to the huge ["staggering"] amount withdrawn from the Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] for “classified” expenditure. The sum withdrawn, according to the source, was in excess of N150billion. The money was withdrawn for use against the threat posed by the PDP opponent [Abubakar Atiku] to President Jonathan. Atiku was said to be in a critical race against the president for delegates. The Jonathan campaign had received intelligence the Atiku campaign reached out to 3000 delegates and had disbursed the sum of $3000 to each delegate in exchange for their votes [3000 delegates would give Atiku the victory over Jonathan]. In reaction, the Presidency had to raise immediate ‘cash’ to avert what would appear an embarrassing loss. Within 24hours, the President’s campaign team raised the booty on Atiku – by offering each of the 3000 delegates $7000 in exchange for their votes – an equivalent total of $21million [N3.381billion]. The $7,000 was paid in foreign currency and an additional amount of N250,000 in local currency was handed to each of the 3000 delegates for “hotel and transport” costs – equivalent to a total of N750million. On the night of January 13, 2011, on the day of the PDP presidential primaries, the sum of N4.13billion [N750million + N3.381billion] was disbursed by the Jonathan campaign. And so victory was secured. Following the victory at the Eagles Square, the President’s campaign re-focused its attention to consultations [taming] with political groups within the North who were unhappy with Jonathan’s candidacy and believed that President Jonathan should have stepped down for a northern candidate – in line with the zoning agreement previously reached by the party. For this, the president’s men made extensive consultations with each of the Emirs in Northern Nigeria and with other leaders of thought in the north. Confidential information available to 247ureports.com reveals that the consultation exercises, by the end of January 2011, cost the President’s campaign an excess of N500million. The Jonathan campaign took an interesting turn as it entered February 2011. A fleet of private Jets was leased from four major carriers -King Airlines, Wings Aviation, Top Brazz and Overland – for use towards the national campaign. The normal charge for per hour of each aircraft was $6000 per hour – and the Jets operated at 70 hours per week. The Jonathan campaign paid the rate of $10,000 per hour - for the period of 10weeks – equating to an amount of N100million daily – totaling to an equivalent of N10.5billion for the said period. Then came the February 14, 2011 billionaires meeting where the 28-member Presidential Campaign Council [PCC] was set up at the Eko Hotel in Lagos. The billionaires consisted of Aliko Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga, Elumelu, Jimoh Ibrahim, Emeka Offor, Kasim Bukar, Sayyu Dantata, Jim Ovia and others. And as the PCC which was primarily tasked with raising funds for the campaign began work in February of 2011, the oil subsidy requests for payment also began to experience a quantum leap from the budgeted N245billion to N1.7trillion. Interestingly, the Petroleum Resources Minister, Mrs Allison Madueke and the Finance Minister, Mrs Okonjo Iweala while testifying before the House of Representative Committee investigating the Oil Subsidy funds management indicated that the amount disbursed as at February 2011 was N245billion – and that begining from March 2011 the amounts submitted for approval suddenly surged. Explaining the surge, the source pointed to the personalities within the 28-member billionaire PCC as directly responsible for the surge from N245billion to N1.7trillion. According to the source, shortly following the formation of the PCC, Sayyu Dantata, a member, through his company, MRS Oil submitted a N225billion oil subsidy request for payment, Femi Otedola, through his company, AP, submitted a N105billion oil subsidy request for payment, a ‘mysterious’ construction company by the name Pinnacle Construction also submitted a claim for N300billion – during the same period. It was during the same period that Stella Odua Ogiemwonyi who was one of the leaders in the Jonathan campaign organization filed a claim that she had spent her own personal money to the tuned of N5billion – for the maintenance of the campaign secretariat. Stella Odua Ogiemwonyi is the Chief Executive Officer of Sea Petroleum and Gas. Interestingly, her company submitted claims for oil subsidy payments in excess of N5billion. Her claim was approved and paid. Cursory inquiry confirms that a significant percentage of the claims submitted by the members of the PCC were fraudulent. The fraudulent oil subsidy claims freed the President’s ability to spend in a manner deemed unprecedented by informed experts. On March 16, 2011, the campaign released N55million to a media company [name withheld] for a single advertisement slot. By March 31, 2011, the campaign paid N7.3billion in advertisements. On March 28, 2011, it donated one car and one bus to each of the 36 chapters around the country and the FCT – along with a cash donation of N14million to each chapter [totaling N518million]. In monetary terms, its equates to a little over N1billion. Between April 12 and April 15, 2011, the campaign disbursed N107billion. When approached regarding the sourceof the exobitant spending, the Director of the Neighbor to Neighbor Initiative [the main NGO funding and managing the Jonathan campaign], Mr. Mike Omeri stated the donations came from online contributors. Comparing the yearly trendings of the oil subsidy claims submitted from 2006 to 2011, highlights the anomaly in the oil subsidy claims between March 2011 and August 2011. In 2006, subsidy claims was submitted for 26.9million liters of petrol for the amount N200billion, in 2008, subsidy claims was submitted for 33.4million liters of petrol for the amount N630billion, and for 2010, subsidy claims was submitted for less than 33million liters of petrol for a little over N600billion. And so it begs the question, What the President knew about the N1.76trillion subsidy payment. Culled from 247ureports.com http://www.facebook.com/nigeriansfornigeria/posts/10150621920558488 Just wondering why our Presido would burden us with feul increment knowing he and his Campaign cabal spent the money. |

Facts You Should Know About Jehovah's Witnesses © Gospel Truth Ministries, 1340 Monroe Ave., NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 Posted with permission. Jehovah's Witnesses. Almost everyone knows of their aggressive door-to-door proselytizing. The organization they represent, known as the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (WTB&TS), emphasizes end time prophecy and has falsely predicted the end of the world many times. The WTB&TS exercises rigid control over Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs) and prohibits their participation in such common activities as taking blood transfusions, celebrating birthdays or holidays (including Christmas, Easter, and Mother's Day), voting, flag saluting, and military service. Through these restrictions, the WTB&TS builds a wall of isolation between Jehovah's Witnesses and the rest of society. JW History The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society boldly claims to be the only organization God is using today to teach His truth and speak for Him. ' According to the WTB&TS, all non-JWs will be destroyed at Armageddon, an event of divine judgment it threatens is just around the corner. The WT Society prints over 14 million copies of its magazines every week, and has over 4 million Jehovah's Witnesses spreading its doctrines in 200 countries. What follows are some essential facts everyone should know about the history and doctrine of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Borrowed Beliefs and Doctrines Charles T. Russell (1852- 1916) founded the JW movement. As a teenager he rejected his Presbyterian roots, joined a more liberal Congregational Church, then left this group as well. He denied the deity of Christ and the biblical teachings on hell and eternal punishment. Russell had no formal Bible training, but borrowed and built upon various teachings that were popular at the time. For example, Adventism influenced his denial of hell, and a splinter Adventist group led by N.H. Barbour aroused his interest in endtime prophecies. From Barbour he borrowed the belief that Christ returned invisibly to the world in 1874, and that 1914 was the year the world would be destroyed and the Millennium would begin. Fantastic Claims In 1879 Russell started his own magazine, Zion's Watchtower and Herald of Christ's Presence (now known as The Watchtower), to promote his doctrines. People were drawn to Russell's sensational endtime predictions, and the organization grew. In spite of his lack of formal training in theology or biblical languages, Russell claimed to be the only one with the truth, and he vigorously condemned all other Christian religions. As a result, ministers of various denominations began exposing Russell's false teachings and questionable character. Flawed Character Rev. J.J. Ross published a pamphlet that exposed Russell's false claims and doctrines. He revealed that Russell "never attended the higher schools of learning; knows comparatively nothing of philosophy, systematic or historical theology; and is totally ignorant of the [biblical] languages [i.e. Hebrew and Greek]". Ross concluded that Russell's teaching was "anti-rational, anti-scientific, anti-Biblical, [and] anti-Christian." Russell unsuccessfully tried to stop circulation of this damaging information by suing Rev. Ross for defamatory libel. However, he not only lost the suit, but in the process perjured himself in court when he lied under oath about his knowledge of the Greek language. In the end Russell admitted the statements about himself in the pamphlet were true.5 In 1906 Russell ' s wife successfully sued for divorce because of "his conceit, egotism, domination and improper conduct in relation to other women," and won a settlement of $6,036. The court severely censured Russell and called his conduct "insulting," "domineering" and "overbearing" to a degree which made life intolerable to a sensitive Christian woman. In 1913, Russell unsuccessfully sued The Brooklyn Daily Eagle for libel when that paper exposed his fraudulent attempts to sell ordinary wheat at the exorbitant price of $60 a bushel, claiming it was "Miracle Wheat.'' Failed Prophecies Despite these setbacks, Russell continued to attract people with his fantastic prophetic interpretations and dramatic warnings that Armageddon would strike in 1914. When 1914 came and went, he changed the date to 1915. Russell died in 1916, leaving his followers doubting and disillusioned by his predictive failures. Joseph Franklin Rutherford then took control of the organization. Prophecy For Profit Rutherford (1869-1942) also used the threat of Armageddon to intimidate JWs. He published The Finished Mystery, a book which predicted that in 1918 God would destroy churches and millions of their members, and claimed that by 1920 every kingdom would be swallowed up in anarchy. Rutherford taught that the only way to escape the impending judgment and destruction was to join the Watchtower organization. Fear of Armageddon motivated Witnesses to work hard selling Rutherford's books and other Watchtower Society literature. When the 1918 and 1920 predictions failed, Rutherford set a new date in his book titled Millions Now Living Will Never Die (1920). It taught that the millennium would start in 1925 and that Old Testament saints like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David would come back to life. The WT Society even built a luxurious Spanish mansion called Beth-Sarim (House of Princes), supposedly to house these patriarchs. In the meantime, however, Rutherford conveniently moved , into the mansion. He also drove an expensive new car throughout the Great Depression, while rank and file JWs sold Watchtower books and pamphlets door-to-door, and worked at Bethel headquarters for $10 - $15 a month. Six years after Rutherford's death in 1942, the Old Testament saints still had not arrived, so the Society quietly sold "Beth Sarim," thus closing an embarrassing chapter in their predictive history. Tampering With The Bible Under the leadership of Nathan H. Knorr (1905-1977) the WT Society put away date setting for a time and switched to a different strategy. Since many of their teachings could be refuted by key verses in the King James Bible, Knorr set out to publish a different Bible for JWs to use. Called the New World Translation (NWT), it blatantly altered many verses to support Watchtower doctrine. The single best example of this is John 1: 1, which in the King James Version clearly declares Jesus' deity-"the Word was God." JWs deny the deity of Christ, so the NWT renders this phrase "the Word was a god." The translation committee responsible for the NWT was kept anonymous, undoubtedly to cover up their complete lack of scholarly qualifications. None of the men who worked on this project had any formal training in the biblical languages, except for Frederick Franz. He was chairman of the committee and had studied Greek for two years at the University of Cincinnati without graduating, and was only self-taught in Hebrew. After Knorr's death, Franz became the Watchtower Society's new President. Intimidation And A Lack Of Integrity From 1960 to 1966 the organization's growth rate slowed considerably. At this point the WTB&TS introduced a new book and a new date for the end of the world. Life Everlasting in the Freedom of the Sons of God (1966) by Vice President Franz (1894-1992 ) concluded that the autumn of 1975 would mark the beginning of the seventh period of human history. The Society was careful to avoid printing an outright prediction, but the message was clear to Jehovah's Witnesses everywhere-Armageddon was coming soon. Some even sold their homes and property in 1974 and were praised by their leaders for doing so. Membership grew by the thousands until 1975 came and went. Then many people realized God was not leading the WT Society and left the organization. The leaders of the WTB&TS refused to admit they had been wrong about 1975, and instead told disillusioned JWs to "adjust their viewpoint." Today many people are unaware of these damaging facts, and the Witnesses continue to grow in number, publishing massive amounts of deceptive literature. The WT Society demands complete loyalty and still predicts Armageddon is coming soon with sure annihilation for anyone who does not join the organization or leaves its ranks. In spite of a history marred by manipulation and false prophecies, the WT Society still claims to be the only one teaching the truth. Testing the Watchtower Prophet The Bible warns us that many false prophets will come claiming to speak for God (Matthew 7:15; 1John 4: 1). Thankfully, it also provides a practical test for identifying false prophets. In Deuteronomy 18:21-22 we are told that anyone who claims to speak as a prophet of God and predicts something that does not come true is a false prophet. "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."(KJV) According to the Bible, one false prophecy makes the speaker a false prophet. By this test the Watchtower Society's prophecies concerning 1914, 1915, 1918, 1920, 1925 and 1975 prove beyond a doubt it is a false prophet and that we should turn away from this group's deceptive doctrines. JW Doctrine When an organization like the WTB&TS claims to be the only true religion and the sole source of correct Bible teaching, we must carefully examine their beliefs. If their doctrines are true, they will be found in the Bible, and their teachings will be consistent and unchanging year after year. Jehovah's Witnesses, however, deny or twist many of the Bible s basic teachings, and their beliefs conflict with those held by orthodox Christians down through the centuries. Consider the following comparisons. Non-biblical Beliefs The Nature of God. The Bible teaches that there is only one true God (Isa.43:10-11; 44:6, . Father, Son and Holy Spirit are identified as distinct Persons within the one Triune Godhead (Matt.3:16-17; 2 Cor.13:14). Throughout the New Testament the Son and the Holy Spirit, as well as the Father are separately identified as God. Each has divine attributes and acts as God (Son: Mark 2:5-12; John 20:28; Heb. l :8; Holy Spirit: Acts 5:3-4; 2 Cor. 3:17-18).By contrast, the WTB&TS denies the triune nature of God and teaches that such a belief is inspired by Satan and teaches that Jehovah, the name of the one true God, corresponds only to God the Father. JWs also deny that Jesus is God (see next point). They deny the Holy Spirit is a person, and instead teach he is merely God's active force, similar to electricity. Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh, and is the Creator of all things (John 1: 1 -3,14; Col.1: 16). While never less than God, at the appointed time He laid aside the glory He shared with the Father and took on a human nature ( John 17:3-5; Phil. 2:6-11; Col. 2:9). Following his death, Jesus Christ rose bodily from the grave, appeared to and was recognized in his body by over 500 people. This fact was crucial to both the preaching and faith of the early church (Luke 24:39; John 2:19-21; I Cor. 15:6, 14). By contrast, the WTB&TS denies the deity of Jesus Christ and teaches that Jesus is a created being who existed as Michael the archangel before being born as a perfect man. JWs believe that after Jesus was buried, God disposed of his physical body. He was raised a spiritual creature and "materialized" to make himself visible. Now in heaven he is once again known as Michael the archangel. Salvation. The Bible teaches that the atoning work of Christ alone provides the solution for man's sin problem. Jesus Christ took the personal sins of all men-past, present and future-in his own body on the tree (I Pet. 2:24), and as perfect God and perfect man he fully met the demands of Divine justice for us (Rom. 3:22-26). Therefore, any and all who receive him by simple faith (John 1:12; Acts 16:31), can be forgiven, declared righteous and restored to fellowship with God (2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 7:24-26). By contrast, the WTB&TS teaches that only an elite group of Witnesses, known as "the 144,000," or the "anointed ones" are presently credited with Christ's righteousness. Only the 144,000 are born again and expect to reign with Christ in heaven. For the vast majority of remaining JWs, known as the "other sheep" or the "great crowd," the atoning sacrifice of Christ only provides a chance at eternal life on earth. The Bible also teaches that we are saved by grace alone apart from any self-righteous works (Eph.2:8-9). There is nothing we can do to contribute to our salvation because apart from Jesus Christ we are "dead in our sins" (Eph. 2:1,5). By contrast, the WTB&TS teaches that salvation "will depend on one's works." A person must first "come to Jehovah ' s organization for salvation and then comply with everything they teach. In this way, a relationship with the Jehovah's Witnesses organization, rather than a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, is presented as the basis of salvation. The Soul & Eternal Punishment. The Bible teaches that the human soul continues to exist consciously after death (Is.14:9-11; Luke 16:19-31;Rev 6:9-11). Those who have rejected God's gift of eternal life will suffer conscious eternal punishment (Matt. 25:41,46; Rev. 14:10,11; 20:10,15). By contrast, the WTB&TS denies eternal punishment and teaches that the soul cannot exist apart from the body. JWs believe that death ends all conscious existence. Hell refers to the grave and those who are ultimately judged by God will be annihilated and simply cease to exist. The Bible. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit's anointing enables individual Christians to understand God's Word and properly apply it to their lives ( I John 2:27). By contrast the WTB&TS teaches that the Bible can only be interpreted by the Watchtower Society and no individual can learn the truth apart from them. Contradictions & Flip-Flops The WT Society claims to be Jehovah's organization and God's only channel of spiritual instruction for today. It stresses that the Bible is an "organizational book" and cannot be understood by individuals no matter how sincere they are. But how can we trust our eternal destiny to an organization that during its brief time in existence has accumulated such a woeful history of doctrinal contradictions and flip-flops? Consider the following examples of ever-changing Watchtower theology. In 1975 the WTB&TS taught that the man who sows the seed in the parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13) is Satan. Later that same year the WT Society taught that this sower was Jesus. A similar incident occurred in 1978, when the WTB&TS identified the "Alpha and Omega" of Revelation 22:12-13 as Jehovah (that is, God the Father), and then five weeks later taught these verses referred to Jesus. The Watchtower Society's failure to correctly interpret the Bible is most clearly seen in their doctrinal flip-flops. First they teach position A, then they change to position B, claiming God has given them "new light." Later on, however, they revert back to their old teaching (position A) and in some cases change once again to position B. Here are some examples. Resurrection of the Men of Sodom 1879 - They will be resurrected. 1952 - They will not be resurrected. 1965 - They will be resurrected. 1988 - They will not be resurrected. The 'Lord' in Romans 10:12-16 1903 - 'Lord' refers to Jesus. 1940 - 'Lord' refers to Jehovah. 1978 - 'Lord' refers to Jesus. 1980 - 'Lord' refers to Jehovah. 'Higher Powers' of Romans 13:1 1916 - 'Higher powers' refers to governments. 1943 - 'Higher powers' refers to Jehovah God & Jesus Christ. 1964 - 'Higher powers' refers to governments. Conclusion In light of the preceding facts, do we dare trust the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society? It has falsely prophesied the end of the world at least 6 times and uses these predictions to intimidate its followers. This group has repeatedly changed their doctrines and contradicted previously held beliefs, all while claiming that it alone has the truth. Is this consistent with God's perfection and holiness? We do not intend to ridicule or belittle individual Jehovah's Witnesses; they are generally sincere dedicated people. In one sense they are more like lost sheep than ravenous wolves, for they have been deceived by an organization with a history of false prophecies and doctrines. JWs truly believe that if they leave the Watchtower Society they will be destroyed at Armageddon. They need our love and compassion Our desire for them, as for everyone else, is that they come to a true knowledge of what the Bible teaches, and the understanding that Jesus Christ alone can guarantee salvation. Only through a personal relationship with him can we receive forgiveness and eternal life. |

Not forgetting that this same house was renovated with 200m during the Ya'adua regime only to be sold by Jona for a paltry sum of 45m. So so speechless. Do we still have pressure groups in Nigeria? Students Union and Associations? Where is Can when they should be talking? Where are the Market Women Association? Oh! I forgot that every thing has been monetized in Nigeria. So so sad. |
@Beaf Going by your assertion here, I also expected GEJ to have suspended Inde Dikko of Customs when Festus Keyamo took him to court with hard evidence on certificates forgery until the case is finally settled by court. Not one not two forgeries but heck, GEJ was quite deaf as long as that issue remained and this same corrupt man is still Custom's Boss. When exactly was it that GEJ woke up to discover that appointing an acting president in place of Salami is the best cause of action and thus for the interest of the Judiciary and the Nation? why didn't he apply the same solution in Dikko's case? What of the Ogun State Saga as Gbawe pointed out? We also saw how the Court granted Akpan of ACN, Akwa Ibom bail only to be rearrested, detained and even slapped within court premises and yet, this same GEJ that is now protecting the integrity of the Judiciary never altered a single word in condemnation of that act. Honestly sometimes I wonder how you are able to turn things around without a pang of guilt hitting your conscience that what you are doing or saying is wrong from the moral aspect of things. Really Baffles me. |
hildaa:As long as am concerned, there is basis for comparison. Fashola's jurisdiction is Lagos as well as Nigeria Gej's. What we are looking at is their response to issues in their respective jurisdictions. Fashola was aware he was contesting for Lagos State likewise Jona was aware he was also contesting for Nigeria. In as much as their duties might vary likewise their resources and power. In a saner environment, both are held accountable to their duties and thus are expected to perform. Inability to perform in this case is not as regards resources and power but as regards WILL and ZEAL and this is where I give it to Fashola. |
I really don't understand why the example of Adam and Eve running through the whole thread. Are you guys trying to say that The Fruit as given to Adam by Eve was Sex? I don't seem to understand this reasoning because God created them and told them to increase and multiply. Is there other means of increasing and multiplying if not through sex which to me was already sanctioned before the eating of the fruit. Perhaps somebody should enlighten me on this. |
@ Poster, It is good to know guys like you are still out there. Do hold on to God and pray for his direction and guide. He never disappoints. Some Men these days don't believe there is gain in chastity even in Churches. A friend of mine who is being trained to be a pastor told me he will not get married unless the lady is pregnant. I couldn't believe my ears. Some of the ladies in Churches are even worse but then, bottom line is that God will not lower his standard because of we humans. He must be obeyed. Also note that Church, fellowships etc as most people suggested might not just be the only places where you can fine ur desire so I suggest you broaden your horizon while trusting on God's guidance. |
I dey laugh oooooo! I thought Soludo was the Bad guy? Hahaha! We await worse pronouncements in the future. |
I now understand why Beaf is the way he is. So out of tune with the stark realities of Life. Evidence of a dead conscience. |

is called "God."
