4 Play:4Play, The fact is that I see myself as 'right of centre' when it comes to such matters. however way you look at it,the gross incompetence of GWB surfaces. Every single national/international law has been broken. Help me with the following: Where did the 'crimes' committed by Gitmo detainees take place? Are these civil crimes or war crimes? If civil which countries legal system(& courts) should be used considering these aren't stateless people? If war crimes, the 3rd Geneva Convention(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Geneva_Convention) is the prevailing International Law,is this being followed to the letter? The location of Gitmo is also strange, which country is it really in? And finally can you necessarily apply US civil law on non-US soil? I reiterate,GWB had a good cause, everything should have ended with the collapse of the Taliban in Afghanistan, wipred out Osama in Tora Bora possibly with Nuclear Bomb( just joking ). All these would have deterred Saddam & Iran. So GROSS INCOMPETENCE/ARROGANCE got him there. And I see you also stated that nobody(even Obama) has a solution to Gitmo? that does not mean creating Gitmo in the first place made any sense. On the issue of Israel,I cannot fault most of your positions becaue they are all(Israel & Arabs except Egypt) still technically in a state of War,so rational points of view may not necessarily apply ! |

Lagosboy:Lagos Boy, Please stop deceiving yourself into believing Muslims are more than Christians in the SW,ok? Anyway don't lets allow Usman Dan Fodio's forced religion(Ima le) divide us. Let the Arewa go & we can move Odua republic to the heights we should have reached by now. peace !! |
4 Play:Lai wo we ![]() Ol'boy, your vocab na die !! However, inasmuch as I appreciate Bush's point of view, you'll agree with me he was probably overwhelmed by 911 & took some wrong decisions. We can't justify illegality. |
asha 80:I agree,the fact that he can browse really baffles me. . . . ![]() |
yemmyse:Not a ba idea. But I think we need some kind of revolution ! |
Tornadoz:Tornadoz,I don't think we should go back to who forced what on people,Nigeria as we all agree was probably forced on us all & this applies to most countries(or how can you explain white South Africans & Zimbabweans? ).The burning question should be ,the way forward:How can the Israelis(remember almost 20% of Israelis are Arabs) live side by side with its neighbours? The problem though has clearly religious undertones, is largely political. carmelily:
@congoshine,They say a word is enough for the wise.
I think you're right |
When a MAN U fan begins to analyse our game,I begin to wonder,I just wonder ! |
One example queues at filing stations? |
Have you ever had this dejavu feeling, the country is moving around in circles rather than forward? Please share your thoughts with examples . |
Afam, I started this thread & there isn't any room for insulting people's parents here, please ! We're nigerians & respect for parents is sarcrosanct,I'll appreciate you take back the insults & stick to the issues. Thanks. |
carmelily:My 'friend',I'm glad we can discuss issues now- 'giving' land (I guess you're referring to the creation of the State of Israel in 1948)isn't entirely new, especially within the context of the middle east. As a matter of fact the nations of Jordan,Syria etc were essentially carved out of the large chunk of desert land called the middle East. We don't need to go too far in history to know that more than half of all countries in the world currently, never existed about a century ago,& we're still having new ones(Kosovo,South Ossetia,Abkhazia etc). Having said that I really don't agree with the Israeli occupation of the Gaza +West Bank, but all these came about as a result of the Arab-Israeli wars. It goes without saying that if the Arabs hadn't attacked probably the Golan(Syria),Sinai(now back with Egypt), West Bank(originally part of Jordan) would be with their rightful Arab owners now. |
NAIJAaaaaaaaa !!! |
Altho' i don't want to loose focus on the Emirs, the fact remains that the 'majority' account for more that 60% of Nigeria's population and two-thrids of the Geo-political arrangement. I'll appreciate suggestions on how we can rid ourselves of these leeches ! |
udezue:Pally, De try read up your history before posting ,ok? Its widely known that Gowon is Angas(Plateau State) and not Tiv(Benue). Nobody's talking about majority or minority here, just focus on the Emirs,ok? I certainly agree with your 'gworo chewing' assrtions tho' ![]() |
carmelily:I'm happy you are truthful to yourself,by admitting you are a poorly educated juve ![]() carmelily:You are not smart, let me explain,in a forum like this ,there some people called administrators, they essentially have the required rights(pls google/check dictionary for this,if you don't understand !) to edit and make changes, such as the one you're referring to. ![]() |
So? ![]() Is that why he should get a fixed percentage of Nigeria's GDP? He should have invested all the money to make Kano,a tourist haven like Dubai,Abu Dhabi,Kuwait & other muslim city-states, . . . . . . but no . . . . . . every Friday,non-indigenes run for cover. . . . I say shame on him & the other Emirs ![]() |
Dora should have been moved to Police affairs. She's about the only 'action' person in the list. And this is what took our guy all of 9 months to come up with?? ![]() I hate to agree ,but the poster's title isn't far-fetched. |
earTHMama:Oyingbo ! |
True talk. I say we get rid of the Emirs now!!! |
Strange but true(nkan be) |
carmelily:Shakes his head & thinks aloud "I shouldn't really be wasting my time with poorly educated juveniles " I might just add,the title was probably modified by the Admin ![]() |
Pataki:When u sef con de do likeperson we de do the thing ![]() Pataki:If thisis true, then dats really sad. It begs the question - Is there any hope for Nigeria? I certainly hope for all our sakes he gets back on track. Whateva happened to the gsm number he was getting sms from ythe public on? |
earTHMama:oh yes she did ! Got her DVM(Doctor of vertinary medicine) from the Universityof Ibadan in 1988,before proceeding to the US for Masters & PhD ![]() |
tharma:Abi o . . . . . . |
hey pally take am easy. . . ![]() I'm not a cyber tout ! ![]() I've been impressed with OGD ever since he took Osoba head on & everyone agrees his 1st term was about the best across the country(I need not go into details). I've been out of naija for some months now & its possible I may be commenting based on his past glory, but the guy definitely surpassed my expectations 2003-2007& I'm sure he has what it takes to take it even futher. A good number of the roads that Lagos,Ogun work on are Federal roads, they then get mostly partial compensation from Big brother. Tinubu took this problem to another level with his political sign boards announcing 'This Road is a Federal Road, being repaired by Lagos State, please bear with us'. ![]() |
The hand that got her in ,saw her through ! ![]() She couldn't even manage a home successfully?(Funmi, pls don't go there !) Really sad example for our young sisters & daughters. |
Pataki:Pataki, are you on your period? Cos i really can't understand the hormonal imbalace you're going thru? Can anybody with good knowledge of nigeria explain the strange(but real) concept of federal & state roads to this people? Like i said the guy is not perfect, but his reputation certainly preceeds him. If you live along that road, don't worry, they get to your end soon,ok? ![]() |
spikedcylinder:I completely agree. She was obviously looking out for a confrontation,or why else would she stand up the way she did, while everyone else was seated,na so she like God reach? Its really sad dat we have such people in our Senate, nothanks to 'Baba do-or-die' himself !! earTHMama:Do some research on how she got admitted in the 1st place. ![]() |
luvlawyer:Another prude with a lovely keyboard ,but limited IQ ! |
carmelily:When poorly educated juveniles start taking the priviledge of a forum to insult their elders,it can be quite tiring. ![]() Research what it means 'To stone' & come back with your apologies. If you don't have an opinion on the current discourse, please say so & don't hide behind grammar ![]() shakes his head wondering how this prude got access in the first place. |
What can Iyabo point to as a personal achievement, without the explicit support of her inglorious father? Anyone with decent answer(nigeria1 no satelite photos,PLEASE !),will get a reward. |
