I sold my car yesterday and it was a very dramatic transaction.

The buyer drove the car recklessly, that is, speeding, in the name of test driving the car. I cautioned him several times and told him he can monitor the gear selection even at a low speed.

Well, he ran into a ditch and dented my car. The moment it happened, I started laughing. "Guy you don buy market" was what came out of my mouth.

Guy man no wan gree, he later priced the car very low so as to escape. I didn't take any it and I gave him my terms which are;

2. Pay for the car, I gave him the market value of the car.

I have heard nasty tales about the 2008 Accord V6. Its supposed to be a no go area and its engine is on the expensive collection.

The engine design for the 2008 V6 has very cool features and very good on fuel efficiency with its VCM that shuts down 3 cylinders. I heard the system is prone to failure and you know Naija mechanics.

And the Accord 2.0 is no no for its low power, scarce and expensive engine.

So OP should stick to the 2.4L engine if eventually the Accord is the one.

I heard the vcm makes half of the engine run hotter than the other half (bank 1 or 2) because most of the time it’s shutting off half its cylinders. Because of this issue an owner must use recommended Synthetic oil and change on or before the 5k miles mark. Even with those methods it sometimes builds up sludge or the vcm gets issues.

People who don’t want any of the reduced fuel consumption provided by the vcm can decide to bypass/shut it off. It’s doable and I’m sure details are online.

If not for the vcm time bomb that Honda engine is superb.
