Omoapena I will face my lane from today. No wahala. ![]() |
Then all of a sudden today I have become a bad guy ? ![]() It is well |
Omoapena this is still me trying to encourage you and motivate you even when a few others here were not even paying attention to your worries.
|
Still me doing my bit to keep this thread moving in my own little way. I didn’t come here to cause friction. I always call out injustice when I observe it. That I am not a steady driver right now doesn’t mean I have not driven before.
|
Omoapena:I have only 2 accounts on this forum. This one and the one below. See my brother. I am not arguing with you. I am also here to learn. When I made this post below was around the period i made up my mind to invest in ehailing.
|
Raw2:I knew the guy you're trying to enlighten here won't understand the calculations you did up there and his first instinct wouldn't be to seek understanding but to fight against that knowledge. It's not his fault sha, not all of us can be scholars A Toyota corolla doing 6km per liter is a taboo. I always said he can never ever ever ever ever understand any discussion here concerning mpg because his experience is already skewed I'm being proven right. |
You're driving a vehicle with a steady check engine light, you don't care to scan or find out why yet you keep saying your vehicle is sound and nothing is making it consume more fuel than it was intended to. See ehn . . . You will dash petrol stations all your profits and we will still laugh at you here. The era of driving rickety lemon limca lambos upandan lagos is over. Tinubu said so not me. |
ksmart027:I think you should allow that guy continue doing whatever he's doing exactly the way he's doing it. Whenever he's ready to reason properly we will see it in his activities right here on this thread. He has been threatening |
Collione:Why? Because of the fuel dilution issue? |
You wake up and go to your office desk for work then return straight home from Monday to Friday and only drive on weekends is very different from you wake up, drive for 3 hours, hit your office desk for work, close, drive another 4 hours before returning home from Monday to Friday plus drive all day on weekends. Then still come here to rubbish driving . . . hmm 🤔 Tinubu is really working ⚒ |
tojahh:They said you should drop key and go and learn carpentry or welding then start praying that the US or UK puts it on their skilled workers shortage list for sponsorship ![]() Or tinubu jumps his kinsmen and cronies to award you a N1 billion naira contract to craft chairs for the upcoming aso rock auditorium ![]() All these our 70 year old men self ![]()

Felicity001:Felicity no be today I start to dey beg you to dey take am easy for here with people. Me I no dey open eye koro-koro go find your trouble because I don sabi say you be live wire, no be today. Abeg relax. Imagine me waving a giant white handkerchief at you right now
|
Blackbishop:The reason why you understood my post was because you went through a similar childhood. I also studied banking in the university just because when I was in primary school I wanted to be like my dad. Back then anybody that made mistake to ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up I’d waste no time in screaming “banker” lol. I went to secondary and at ss1 joined commercial class. At ss3 I wrote gce, neco, neco gce, waec, jamb and poly jamb all for banking as first choice and accountancy as my second choice. The thing been dey shak me for head that year ehn ![]() Chai. Memories. |
dav1002:Oga see if your say Cho Cho Cho I will think it’s me you’re referring to. It hasn’t been used to refer to anyone else on here before. It’s that troll that started referring to me with that tag and unfortunately he had a big bandwagon (of which you’re part of) . The tag doesn’t faze me one bit though. Just know that I came here to respect everyone. It’s not my fault that I see something and talk. If I’m wrong (which I could have been on many occasions) I always accept corrections when directed. I’m here to learn. If there’s another Cho Cho Cho me I no know oh. Is there any other person in abuja you’re talking about? This is how you started with that cheerfgiver incident that caused us to fall out. Making cryptic posts that tend to cause confusion and in the end you will deny any fallout and say the matter didn’t concern anybody ![]() Dav1002 abeg I dey wave white handkerchief for here oh. Abeg sorry if I offend you before. Just be clear next time when you quote me so I don’t misunderstand you again like before. Cheers 🥂 |
dav1002:Niqqa I was born right here in lag, grew in lag, schooled in lag, wedded in lag . . . Shebi I’ve told you to quote me with sense it’s not only cheerfulgiver that has a sharp tongue. Don’t let me get banned because if you. |
izzou:Sometimes e dey happen to each and everyone of us ![]() |
izzou:Well at least the UK once advertised . . . I just wanted IFSHR have that at the back of his mind for future reference ![]() Now i also understood what dapo said perfectly. I just wanted to also point out that he can't use his own personal situation to mirror others here. We are all different individuals from different backgrounds trying to make ends meet one way or the other. Many people who carry phones and log into nairaland daily aren't graduates like him or even have the time of day to open new books to read up trying to learn new skills on the fly. Some are also having some psychological issues that could hamper their cognitive ability to read, comprehend and assimilate written directions properly. Take for instance omoapena. We all know he has a hp contract on his neck and has been coming to this thread weekly making cryptic posts that show he's struggling with his chosen hustle. Remember that unlike dapo the vehicle isn't his yet, also maybe he's married with wife(ves) and kids to feed, rent, medical and inflated fees to pay etc, now tell me what time he can carve out of his already tight daily schedule to learn a new skill without affecting his ability to cater for him and his families daily well being and also remit his weekly contractual stipend towards the hp agreement he currently has on his neck? I feel for him that's why anytime he cries I always reply even if he dismisses my help. I know he has a bird in hand but others want him to drop it and dive headfirst into the bush in search of more. I want him to master this hustle so he can pay off his hp agreement and move onto it her things ASAP. I also attempted learning data analysis as omoapena is planning to do. I joined up with a class that was advertised here on this same thread a while ago. I went three-quarters of the way but had to drop off because it clashed with many things I had going on at the time. The knowledge is still there but I don't have it completely. It wasn't easy at all to learn it to the point I reached before life paused my education in that aspect. Will I learn further? Yes of course, but I will need time and calm to face it squarely to achieve perfection. Someday soon I hope. I am a man that likes to try my hands at numerous businesses as far I have the capital and ability to control its dynamics. Yes I still have a desk job but I also import and trade goods, render specialized services which I charge for and create employment opportunities for people when I can. Unlike my dad, i will not work at my desk until my retirement age no matter the pay I receive. That life won't be mine. Stanbic pensions still pays me but how much? I see their alerts and emails and smile. It's nothing compared to what my friends earn daily running their own businesses. I go to the market and visit a friend and have to wait for his accounts manager to finish a meeting with him before I can go into his office to say hi. He never worked for anyone in his life except when he understudied his business. He is a simple trader. Buying and selling. I want to become like him real soon by the grace of God. So izzou all I'm trying to day is that when nairaland first began, everything was centered at a place and people plus information was thrown everywhere. Thankfully seun in his wisdom decided to carve out sections and threads for specific knowledge to be gained. This thread here is for those who want to perfect their skills in ehailing in lagos . . . I am pleading for those who have other things going for them to at least allow people like omoapena and other uneducated peeps to achieve the aim of this thread before forcing them out of the nest while they haven't perfectly learnt how to fly. There are sections for learning programming, agriculture, phone repairs, sales etc. rigjtvhere on nairaland. So why can't we allow this thread and its knowledge breathe for the sakes of those here and the ones to come If you see someone doing something better than you please ask questions and seek understanding. Don't fight against it. Nobody know everything not even Einstein did. Abeg my desk don full make I face my work before m6 bald headed oga catch me on phone I will still piss on his head I'm just watching for when rain is also falling so he won't pinpoint the source of his warm forehead when it happens ![]() |
dapotemi:Let me tell you a story. My father was a career banker. He woke up by 4:30am every day to beat traffic in order to arrive at work before his resumption time. He came back home nothing earlier than 8pm every day as well. I grew up for most of my early life not even waking or sleeping in the presence of my dad. I only had time with him on weekends. I missed my dad so much back then but I understood why he was always away. He was a banker working to give I and my siblings a better life. He retired after 37 years of living this way. He's still alive today and doing well too but he can't get back all those years he wasn't around to bond with us his kids. Till today my mom is still the one who underands us kids as individuals while my dad still thinks about us as his responsibilities like housing, clothing, feeding etc. It's now part of his psyche. I later grew older and vowed never to be like him. I can't be at a desk for a better part of the day everyday and earn how much? My kids growing and changing every time I see them on weekends. Not knowing their habits or friends except my wife informs me. No chance to play or do home works with them because by the time I'm home they might already be sleepy or I'm the one whose feeling same. I grew up most of my life watching my dad from afar because his desk job robbed us of time with him . Did he make the money? Yes he did, but I still saw many of his mates who were into several other things without being chained to a desk doing far better than he was. After he retired he tried his hands at many businesses but they failed because he couldn't control certain aspects of them. He had spent all his life working at a desk and found it hard to adjust to life after work. He didn't have time to learn any new skills or businesses asides his what was always waiting for him at his desk. His finances dwindled and he encountered several setbacks. To God be the glory we his kids were already of age and independence had set in uo assist our parents. By the time he realised that he had spent so much time facing one direction and forgot there were more roads to follow when he arrived at the eventual career T junction waiting in front of us all. If you know you're living your life like my dad on this thread please think again about your future. That desk job will end one day and then what? How much will your pension be? How often will you get it? What will be its purchasing power by then? You say you drive after working to earn a side pay but at the same time downplay the role of driving as a verifiable skill. It is well. |
IFSHR:Wrong on the bolded above. Not up to a year ago the UK was still advertising for drivers to come from overseas to fill up their shortages after their brexit palava. If you didn't see such adds I'm sure others did. Now you could come up with a technicality that it was strictly truck & trailer drivers that were needed but the fact forever remains that driving is a skill period. |
dapotemi:Makes sense, he should learn a skill like carpentry, welding, painting etc Oh yeah, I just remembered that driving is also a skill ![]() |
N10,000 is for how many litres of fuel again? ![]() Is this a monthly, weekly or one time palliative or what? |
BabaRamota1980:You yourself Are you resting? ![]() |
dapotemi:Awesome piece. Do you also have any advice for those of us who are also struggling with ehailing but aren't graduates or weren't fortunate enough to attend a university? |
Omoapena:What is the issue that has gotten you fed up bro. Let us see if someone here can help you out |

dav1002:See your mouth vibrating . . . asking me what informative post I've made blah blah blah . . . Niqqa what benefit has YOUR OWN PRESENCE ever made to the benefit of this forum? who have you ever tutored in anything? What unique stuff have you ever done? What business model have you ever shared here on nairaland for anyone to learn from? While you were still thinking of what to do with your life savings I was teaching peeps here in nigeria how to set up bitcoin mining farms in different locations of the country. People were investing millions to learn a new way of making money right here on nairaland. Who are you? Who the flaming F do you think you are to ask me what informative post I have made here? ![]() Do you know what I have gained from this forum? Do you know what I have lost? Do you know the calibre of people that have monikers here? The powerful network you can make? Ideas you can gleam? People you can help raise up to achieve great things in their lives? Seriously you best avoid me bro. I'm serious. I don't like your energy. Stay faaaaaaaaaar away from me or my mentions for both our sakes ![]() |
CheerfulGiver:I no carry my telegram phone comot for house bro I don round up for here where i dey sha. Highest next 1 hr i will be with you ![]() |
Pearl1910:I came here initially to learn from people driving in lagos, that is why I feel like slapping those who come here to ask me if I drive or if I am contributing to this thread meanwhile they are the same people saying the business is a bust. i came to learn from them and people still come here daily to learn too. When I first started viewing this thread silently everything was going okay for a few years until dru23 came along. The only reason I joined them in hounding dru off of this thread was because he was denigrating uber drivers by broke shaming them. It made my blood boil. Why would a person in a supposedly better place and position instead of motivating and helping others here decide to attack their self esteem. He called it cruise . . . I called it a war. Yes I admit I used compass and divider to disect and label dru's head after this same dancing mad man posted it here but I did it to maintain the sanity of this thread. I don't feel bad about it. Even this hateful dav1002 was a fellow player in our squad at that time and i didn't know he was just a wicked and hateful soul. I have nothing against dru till today and I even patronise him occasionally. If the business didn't work for you then leave. Don't spoil the thread for others coming after you. You weren't the one who created it. If my cho cho cho burns your iris then skip my posts and don't choke my mentions with Hypocrisy. Im too old for b7llsh1t at this stage in my life. |
