These days many pastors have devised several means of compelling their members to pay tithe, they'll do special prayers for their tithe payers while reiterating that for those members who don't pay it is the reason why things are tight for them. Its the same pastors that'll be riding jeep, live in luxury while church members struggle to even afford 3 square meals.
are the tithes meant to be shared equally by the congregation each month?

guardian's assessment of arsenal

Guardian writers' prediction: 5th

Last season's position: 4th

Odds to win the league: 9-1

First the good news. Jack Wilshere seems perfectly happy to play for Arsenal. Thomas Vermaelen looks ready to resume a promising career for the club after a season blanked out by injury. Gervinho might prove to be another classic Arsène Wenger bargain, an athletic and pacy ball player raring to step up a level, spirited over from France for a fee that doesn't make a certain manager with a well-documented devotion to cautious housekeeping choke as if he was asked to fix the Greek economy before breakfast.

Unfortunately at this point the scales lurch with a foreboding clang towards the less good news, the downright depressing news and the bewildering lack of news in critical areas that have made this the most pessimistic close season for Arsenal in decades.
For some years now summertime has merely represented a mix of dread about the best players being picked off, together with frustration that the handful of ambitious signings required to turn potential into the real deal never came. But few really expected, or even asked for, a radical overhaul.

Until now.

This summer was always going to feel different. For a start, patience wore down to breaking point as the 2010-11 campaign imploded in a way that was as miserable as it was predictable. Why are the lessons never learned? Arsenal were mauled like a pretty animal in a David Attenborough documentary that ends up as dinner to even the rangiest of scavengers. To make matters worse their fate was largely self-inflicted as they made traps for themselves to fall into (witness the fiasco against Birmingham City in the Carling Cup final).

So much goodwill in the bank from Wenger's past successes has been raided. Also, for the first time, it became obvious that some players had lost belief in the manager's philosophy. The atmosphere in the dressing room became increasingly bitter during a run of two wins from their last 12 league matches post-Carling Cup final. They knew, with even more clarity than any fan or pundit, that this youth project, for all its valiant idealism, has profound failings.

The other fundamental difference about this summer is the new scene at board level, with Stan Kroenke's takeover and Alisher Usmanov's increased shareholding suggesting that something somewhere would be adjusted in terms of the club's direction. But so far, the only thing to be altered is ticket prices, hiked with timing perfect in its clunkiness.

Even though there was never much chance of Wenger departing, this summer required major surgery in all departments to lift the mood. Experienced players are a necessity. Dead wood needs binning. A change in both the coaching staff and ideals can refresh an approach that is too feeble, too flawed, to last the distance (Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp's new roles elsewhere look like an opportunity missed, and while the competition are signing up the likes of Steve Clarke and Roberto Di Matteo as assistants, Pat Rice was talked out of retirement to prolong the status quo).

Wenger doesn't want to practice defending? Fine, so long as you bring someone in who will. The squad players not up to the task when the going gets tough? Fine, so bid au revoir to Manuel Almunia, Emmanuel Eboué, Sébastien Squillaci, Carlos Vela etc.

Some have departed, and others have flashing "for sale" signs attached, but Arsenal have not yet been as aggressive and decisive in the market as suggested by the promise from Wenger that they would be "very active". There is still a lot to do, with, astonishingly, the defence barely touched thus far. Where is the new robust centre-half, the experienced left-back to replace Gaël Clichy, the alternative to Alex Song in defensive midfield and the goalkeeper to prevent any more sightings of Almunia if injury strikes again?

The lack of arrivals is presumably linked to the demoralising sagas concerning the futures of Cesc Fábregas and Samir Nasri. But a "very active" window was needed regardless. Waiting for last-day bargains, as Arsenal tend to do, doesn't seem like a brilliant idea. Could be a bit late by then.
August brings meetings with Liverpool and Manchester United, plus a crucial Champions League play-off and a trip which is bound to remind them of all their worst foibles, to Newcastle United, where last term the good, the bad and the hideous of Arsenal morphed into one extraordinary game.

Arsenal remain in an elite group who have qualified for the Champions League for 14 successive seasons, and they have managed it with the "sustainable business model" that operates at a fraction of the outlay of their competitors. It is admirable. But with the big four now potentially a big six, it may not be workable for much longer.

Without a shaken-up squad, the only other source for change is at the training ground if the will and wherewithal is there. Andrey Arshavin has suggested they have been working on set pieces and a more intense pressing game during pre-season. Notably Arsenal's most impressive performances of last season, wins against Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona, showed how energetic pressing, rather than languid passing, reaps rewards. Equally notably, that approach didn't transmit to less interesting challenges. It remains to be seen whether Wenger can inspire enough of a change, whether a few alterations here and there is enough.

Last season Wenger asked people to judge him in May. This time, judgement might come as early as September

i don't care if you have never stepped foot in nigeria before. . . .it does not add a shred of intelligence to yourself. there are illiterates in that america you see as heaven. illiterates who cannot write or think.

Your dismissive attitude must really be full of "Christian values", "by their fruit ye shall know them, "?
Fela dealt with these kinds of stuff in "coffin for head of state & suffering and smiling" but you're probably too "young" to appreciate his whole body of work.
i have not claimed anywhere i am a staunch christian or whatever you may call it.
i am a moralist! i am a disciple of doing what is right. . . .i don't have to be a christian or a staunch islamic student to appreciate morality.
so you and fela can feck off to where the sun don't shine.

You guys use "pre Covenant Abram's" tithe, Malachi, Deuteronomy, Leviticus, etc referenced tithes and can go ahead and "pay" all you want "to receive all the blessings" (investment banking to some) but some of us know our God doesn't live in Temples made with human hands and that "where two or three are gathered in his name, he is there"
so why did christ mention it when he was criticizing the pharisees for their hypocrisy?

Let me just educate you about the German "religious tax", they only deduct that from you if you declared Christianity as your religion, and I remember folks claiming "frei denker" so as to escape that because they believe the Church take and take but that's a story for another forum,
but this religious tax fund the churches - so why would the church then take more from the congregation when there's an arrangement in place to tax all protestants and catholics? if nigeria have such in place, no pastor will collect offering/tithes in the church. compare like for like.

The so called "successful Pastors" in Nigeria today would qualify for the rich man Christ told to sell all his belongings and give to the poor to follow him, Faith without works is DEAD, Nigerians should all be "prosperous" now with all those "claim it" abracadabra shows, God gave us a SIMPLE way to worship him--with all out heart and with all our SOUL,
and who are you to judge them? who ordained you to judge them?
are you judging them because you were called to judge them by the divine one or you just want to make noise to be noticed?

You can't pay your way into Heaven(at least not the one I know of)

Shalom. grin
of course, no one can pay his way into heaven but don't fight someone else's battle.
fight your own battle. leave church embezzlers to their works. they shall surely reap what they have sowed.

Who am I to complain?

I am an Individual with a voice and one that understands that I have a right to my Opinion

I am one who picks up the bible myself and get my own understand of it's meaning and not someone else's agenda.

I am one that decided to read Deut 14: 22 to 29 myself and understands how God indicated  how tithing should be done, and not listen to a Greedy person feeding on the ignorance of innocent people.

I am an Individual with my own mind. That's who I am.
so you are complaining without any credible evidence or statement of account saying the funds have been mismanaged?
is this how it should be? are you an auditor? an accountant?
perhaps you have a crystal ball and you know for sure pastor xxxxx has been stealing people's tithes to fund his own lavish lifestyle. . . .

I agree with the majority of your reply.
But why is it not my battle to fight?
it's not your battle because you don't know for sure the money is mismanaged
it's not your battle because you are not even entitled to a penny out of it.
it's not your battle because the scriptures even said thou shall not judge or put a false allegation against a fellow brethren
and so on and forth. . . . .don't wanna start preaching here.

Indirectly, you are saying look the other way.
Believe me,  that is what fraudulent people thrive on.  I have every right to voice my opinion and you have every right to oppose it.
but this money is no longer yours - you have given it out to the one you believe is the most high. . . .you gave it out to help and support the church in a way to enhance the expansion and the development of that church. if that same church now feels the leader of the church deserves a new automobile, a bigger mansion and a fat salary to boot - who are you to complain?

So, whose battle is it?  God wont come down to right any wrong.  Was it God that halted Hitler himself, or did people fight and defeat him. (Basically, what am saying is that you can't sit down and hope for God to fight your battles without making an effort) . In developed countries, they did things themsleves and brought about their own development, and did not wait for God. That does not say God did not give them the intelligence. (My opinion)
says who? natural order will be restored sooner or later. as a christian, look the other way. work and pray and receive your salvation. let your pastor and the divine father sort themselves out. not your battle, not your war.

While I agree with your statement about the wrong perception attributed to doing well,  you might also add that it is the very same Nigerians that abused their positions of power that causes that attribution.
does that then make it right? shouldn't each case be judged individually in this modern era of free education for all? so because an igbo man killed and ate innocent people in the time past means all igbo men should be considered cannibals?

It is wrong to manipulate the Bible to enrich yourself whilst deceiving others- It is called Fraud.   Tithing is a personal thing and should be left to the individual. But most folks against it here are practicalyl against the "Men of God" that abuses that privilegde
i agree it is wrong but it's not your battle to fight. let the pastors face their judgement at the final hour. you have paid your tithes, whatever happens to it shouldn't be your concern. you have made up your mind to give it out - without expecting it back in your pocket. where's the morality in doubting what pastors do with the tithes paid to them?

You can choose to keep quiet about the mis-hap going on in Christianity or Religion, but dont expect others to. Also, dont resort to insults or degoratory remarks because  people hold different views to yours. It's a vast world and nobody knows it all (Including "mEN OF gOD"wink
i don't insult people for the fun of it. . . . .if i detect any masked insult behind anyone's comment, i have the right to respond in any way i feel.
self defence is a right.

Corrution is corruption wether is in the house of paliarment or the house of God. Choosing to ignore it does not make you holier either
choosing to ignore it can never make me holier. choosing to pursue it is actually worse especially when you have nothing but a baseless allegation.
people pay tithes to expand the church, develop it, beautify it, etc. people pay tithes to give to the less-privileged members of the church., educate them and make their lives happy. as a christian, this is what you should look for. is your church growing, are the needy taken care of? if the church satisfies all these requirements - i do not see how the pastor of that church should be criticised.

Smart man,
I understood your point perfectly. If Americans do not pay tithes, it does not occur to you one bit that some of them would be out of an unwillingness to do so – not because they’re poor. Isn’t it silly to assume that American Christians refuse to tithe because they are poor, when the vast majority of them are richer than Nigerian Christians including jokes like you that come here to make empty noises.
you are a tool and i have my reasons for saying so.
firstly, the word poor is relative - a poor man in america can still afford the basic necessities of life and he is almost equivalent to the middle-class in nigeria. i don't see how you think the word poor in america and nigeria means the same thing in terms of what they can both afford.
i detest half-witted crooks but yours is more detestable because you should know better.

Evidently, you know why American christians do not tithe, even though you probably have not met any. Have you ever visited or lived in the US or been to any US church? If you are not as idiotic as you sound, you’d check through the net and see Americans complain a lot about tithing. And if you step into some American churches, you’d hear the pastors addressing some of these complaints. But typical Nigerian that you are, you can claim to be an intellectual with nothing to back it up. Barely literate intellectual!
the tortuous knots of logic this social reprobate ties himself up in. . . . .i have visited and stayed in america several times. to a poverty-stricken child like yourself, america is heaven and only meant for the chosen few. to me, it's just another far end of the world i may or may not visit depending on my mood. you are a tool and a rusty tool if i may add. you have not advanced your point by a jot - just the same series of heresies i have read in your previous comment.

like i have said - not deciding to pay tithe is different to accusing pastors of embezzling without any concrete evidence to back your claims. i will not say there are no dodgy pastors. . . .it's in the bible that many will perform miracles pretentiously but most of them are fake. that is not the issue here. the issue here is. . . . .should christians be complaining about tithing by accusing their pastors of stealing?  you have not answered that - all i see is pukery and the nonsense fuckery about america(a country you were lucky to see on dvd when eddy murphy went to america as an african prince).

And I never complained about tithing. I only corrected your inaccurate assertion.
you cannot have it both ways. . . . .if you are correcting my assertion, then you are backing the touts on this thread who think paying tithes is evil, irresponsible and a waste of time. your moronic diligence to even go on the net to dig up a pitiful link that only 6% americans pay tithes show how spiritually-corrupt you are. it's not by force. . . .i don't think churches charge gate fees in nigeria. . . .if they bring the offering bag to you, just pass it on - you won't be arrested for it. what i will not have you do is to covet another man's fortunes. if you feel aggrieved, convert your father's living room into a church and collect tithes/offering.

sheeeesh!

Says who?
so who is responsible for the welfare of your church and your pastor who does full-time? huh?
then in africa especially nigeria where the issue of "gifts" is a bit ambiguous - how do you know the pastor's fleet of cars were not bought by one of the members of the church? why is it that the moment nigerians see someone doing well - the person must be committing one crime or the other?

By the way, the ability to conjure insults does not make you cool or gives you an articulated leverage in debates.

It only makes you sound very immature.
forgive my manners but i have got a zero tolerance for supposed nigeria's future leaders sounding like hilly-billies in a forum.

I think you’re the one writing out of ignorance. You have no basis for your claim that it is only in Nigeria that Christians complain about tithing. How many countries have you been to and how many materials have you read about Christians in other countries? In the US, for instance, only a small portion – roughly 6% - of American Christians pay their tithes. Everybody should feel free to pay their tithes. But basing tithing on false premises or inaccurate claims does nobody any good.

For those interested in statistics on tithing in America, this link may help.

http://library.generousgiving.org/page.asp?sec=28&page=223
and i think you are the ignoramus with the poorest comprehension skill on this planet. . . . .
it's one thing not to tithe - as a result of not having or not even interested in going to church. . . . .it's another thing to come on a forum and start complaining. there's a universe of difference between the 2 categories but i know your comprehension skill is so poor to grasp this.
that only 6% of american christians pay their tithes do not mean the other 94% complain like rhesus monkeys - something you are obviously doing here. a pastor leaves his job full-time to teach you the morals and the value of life and you think it should be free services?

and the moronic link you posted is just a collection of all articles related to tithing. i have not seen where anyone has accused any pastor of stealing church funds to enrich himself like you are doing on these pages.
these days, i always take my time to debate with intellectuals. . . .not touts with poor comprehension skill who cannot discern the simple difference between not tithing and moaning like a slave about pastors who cruise chelsea tractors.

dare2think:
How is their opinion satanic?.(Just because it is different from yours).
You sound very bigoted.
please shut up with your bigotry nonsense.

So, if your Pastor is evidently squandering the congregation funds people should turn a blind eye and leave him to God? And you wonder why Nigeria is in this state?
If you dont't fight corruption (even in Churches), you think God will come down and do it for you? When was the Last time God came down to fight Human battles for them ?
evidently? you are an auditor and you looked into your pastor's account to notice the misappropriation of funds? the tithes belong to the welfare of the pastor and the church. do not think you are entitled to a lexus jeep from the tithes because your pastor drives one from the tithes.

because your so called politicians are not your creator.

what are your tithes supposed to do? what are the functions of your government?
put them side by side and tell me you are not the hypocrite comparing the role of your government to the role of your pastor. . . .

the tithes are meant to take care of the church and the elders of the church(and they are well taken care of)
your government is supposed to take care of you, your roads, basic amenities, etc(are you well fed? do you have good roads, basic amenities, etc)?

Whenever money is being mentioned, they want to turn the scripture upside down. Its not by force that you should pay,but dont force your opinion on those that pay cos its between them and God.Likewise, whether the tithe is use judiciously or not is non of your biz cos its between the pastors and their maker
don't mind the hypocrites. . . . . .and yet we sometimes wonder why nigeria has remained stagnant for decades. . . .

pay your tithe and stop thinking about what it's being done with it. i do not care if my tithe fuels the pastor's fleet of cars. i have done my share - whatever happens to my tithe is no longer my worry - it's the pastor's burden. no one is forcing anyone to pay tithes - if you don't feel like it. . .take your money to viewing centres and whorehouses and do whatever pleases you with it - but don't force your satanic opinion on others.

in my opinion, i think religious houses should have a pact with the state/federal government. religious houses play a role in the society. they form a substantial factor in the mental, cultural, educational and social infrastructure of the community. they foster value consciousness and offers a condition for a democratic state which the state itself cannot provide. for instance, the church forms an investment in ethical values, sense of life and peace.

it is only fair if these religious houses are financed by taxes. i believe there should be a church tax in nigeria for all christians. maybe by then, people will no longer take tithing for granted!

in germany, the government actually deduct 8-9%(depending on which federal state you dwell) of your earnings every month and pay it directly into the church coffers. church taxes are collected for catholic and protestants by the german government.

The nations that are blessed today are the ones that looks after the poor and needy in their in their society, which is the new commandment jesus has given us.
i can now see you are not well versed in the issue of tithes.

tithing is a key ingredient but not the absolute practice in receiving heavenly blessings.
matthew 23:23 says woe to you scribes and pharisees, pretenders(hypocrites). for you give a tenth of your mint and dill and cumming, and have neglected and omitted the weightier(more important) matters of the law--right and justice and mercy and fidelity. these you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.

so tithing alone will not bring the rewards you desperately crave if you neglect the other indices of the law.

25Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: 26And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

One question I keep asking here is why did God not ask for the money after the tithes have been exchanged for money. To me this shows that God does not want tithes from income, but why almost all churches collect tithes from income today is a mistery

why is it that only nigerians only complain about the issue of tithes? are you people so poverty stricken that you must question anything monetary?
people pay tithes everywhere i have been without complaints and groans but a typical nigerian wants to know why he must pay his tithes.

if you don't pay tithes, what's supposed to take care of the church? take care of the pastors who are mostly full-time pastors?
you come in, sit comfortably, eat their snacks, drink their juices and you don't want to leave anything for their teachings?

Tithe payers and collectors are always saying they are blessed, Malachi 3:12 says tithing should bless the nation not just individuals.
nigeria is what is it today because of people like you!!! nigerians will never see the reward because the majority don't give tithes with a pure heart. many of you actually curse, whine and groan before parting with the money meant for your creator! how do you then expect reward when you don't give with an open mind?

I laugh in Diouf, Was it against blackburn when Diouf shoved him aside and squared the ball for sum1 to tap in last season.
koscielny is pure dross
djourou is a bit better on his day but then djourou's best is substandard in comparison to other premier league teams.
vermaelen is overrated - his injury last season was a perfect excuse for his fans. his debut season was okay, not great!

^^So what did your Arsenal you claimed was second after Barcelona do with their possesion after 7 trophyless years
the tiki-taka. all passes not more than 5-15 yards.
incisive passes
trying to walk the ball into the net.

arsenal have won nothing for 7 years because they have too many inferior players to execute the art of tiki-takaing. the purity of their football is there for all to see. they play better than bayern munich cos they don't have any difficulty in transiting the ball from the goalie to the defenders to the midfielders and to the attack. arsenal's ball transition is always fluid unlike bayern who mixes it with long-balls most of the time.

Nope. It doesnt depend on the quality of the team, Arsenal dominates possesion whether they play Hull or Chelsea
Barca dominates possesion whether they play Almeria or Madrid
Bayern dominates possesion whether they play Nurnberg or Dortmund
Bayern played Inter Milan and had over 60% possession
the degree of dominance is what we are talking about.
70% possession and 65% possession are both complete dominance but one dominance is greater than the other.

The only time you get unstuck is when you play a team who has perfected the possesion game better
The percentages you posted still shows that Bayern is waay ahead of Arsenal
and spartac moscow is better than bayern, barcelona, chelsea and man utd.
it is what you do with the possession that matters. bayern don't play like barcelona - they are mechanical. the bulk of their possession is when their central defenders fanny with the ball in their own half trying to waste time or trying to lure their opponents out of their shell.

arsenal/barca do their tiki-taka at the edge of the opponent's box. looking for that eye of the needle passes or trying to walk the ball into the net.
shyte stats from uefa will not tell us where the bulk of the possession took place. if lahm and butt exchange passes for 5 mins, it will stump up the possession stats. . . . .whereas, sagna can't be bothered passing to almunia. he wants the ball to quickly get to nasri and fabregas(and that area of the pitch has more pressure from the opponents than where lahm and butt are doing "keep ball").

Per the link, that was why I told you to look at it closely.
Didnt you notice that those clubs ahead of Bayern went further in the competition.
1) it is what you do with the possession that matters
2) it depends on the quality of teams bayern met in the competition in comparison to the others.

The average is what matters not the total
Who sleeps more, one that does 63hrs in 3 days or one that does 100 hrs in one week
the percentage is what actually matters not average!
the stat below makes more sense than the possession(time).

See UEFA possesion stats for yourself. Look at it carefully and make deductions
http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/statistics/round=2000118/clubs/type=possessiontime/index.html
i am not even sure you have seen the stats you posted.
man utd, schalke, barcelona, tottenham, inter, shakhtar and real madrid were all higher than bayern munich!

Count the number of times Messi has sodomised better EPL teams than Stoke.
the epl teams better than stoke will not play like stoke.
the teams barcelona have played are man utd, chelsea, arsenal, liverpool. . . . .these teams play with pride. . .they defend well and they don't attack barcelona the way stoke do.

the issue is not the crowd, it's the style of play.
Why cant Stoke use their technique to qualify for Europe CL and see how they would win the tournament.
because there are many teams like stoke in the premier league. there are hundreds of players suited to the way stoke play in the premier league.
you bundesliga fans and la liga fans cannot have it both ways. you cannot say la liga is more technical and more tactical than premier league and still claim la liga is more physical. the english football wins physically in europe. gone are the days when serie a used to be the most physical. i doubt any italian team will survive the premier league(although it depends on the kind of referee officiating the game).

When Barcelona didnt sacrifice players to deal with Giants like Vidic, Ferdinand etc, they would now be scared of Huth whom everyone used to mop the florr everywhere he went or Shawcross?
how many times did vidic and rio ferdinand go up to the other end to attack the ball? against stoke, every goal-kick, corner kick, throw-in, freekick(direct or indirect) - in stoke's half or barca's half will be in the attacking mode. stoke do not play freekicks with 5-yard pass. it's always a long attacking mode - where the 2nd ball advantage is critical. barcelona will not survive it.

In Europe we have seen giants like Bobo Balde being embarassed so who is in Stoke? Delap?
When its so obvious that 90% of teams in the CL play ultra negative football vs Barca
it seems you don't understand what we are talking about here. this is not about negative football. this is about stopping barcelona to play - and then giving barcelona plenty of problems with their own demonic set-pieces. i ask you again - how many of the 90% teams who play ultra negative football against barca use attacking throw from the half-way line? only stoke do.

Those kicks and shoves of Real madrid and Jose didnt stop Messi from scoring a double
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/oct/25/newsstory.championsleague
that was messi whining like a biaatch after rangers showed them 10% of what stoke do week in week out in the premier league. these are the things cristiano faced for six years and mastered in the premier league!

and as for the shoves and kicks of jose mourinho. . . .the dives and the pathetic officiating couldn't work with european referee. you think pepe would have been sent off in the premier league with his tackle? watch carragher versus nani(anfield) and compare to pepe's tackle

of course, i saw marcelo throwing from his own half into barcelona's goal like delap. i also saw arbeola doing the same thing.
we are talking cambodia, you are talking cameroon.

Which Torres the 50m for 1 goal Torres?
the torres that sodomized the german defence by winning the european cup in 2008. cheesy grin

i really enjoyed the game - the best pre-season game this month. i hope all anderson's critics on this thread will now tape it shut until further notice.
he beasted barcelona's midfield in the first half - i dunno why fergie subbed him for giggs(who almost cost us the game) with his lackadaisical attitude.
just like wembley, giggsy failed to mark anyone, and was reluctant to contribute anything meaningful to the attack.

nani has come of age - he ran the barca defence ragged.
cleverley was a gem - i hope he stays at old trafford this season.
smalling? we have a new rio ferdinand. outstanding contribution at the back.
de gea made some good saves. fabio, jones, welbeck, diouf were all outstanding as well.
rooney had a stinker.

overall, it was a good spectacle. no dives, no drama.
p.s. thiago and pedro will rule europe in the next few years. some of the football these lads produced were too brilliant.

Did anyone notice Traore's competent performance? He hardly put a foot wrong all game, and wasn't easily forced off the ball.
he looked very assured. . . .and arsenal did well with riquelme's set-pieces. koscielny was a vidic today but i dunno if that was due to the midgets trying to attack the ball with him. question is. . . . .can koscielny do it on a wet windy night at britannia? grin cheesy

the only fault to be honest is the misunderstanding in the heart of the defence. djourou's brainfarts and squillaci's indecisions. both goals were completely against the run of play - wenger has a lot to do in that defence.

In Europe the closest hing to barcelona in terms of possesion football is Bayern only that we dont have the talent at barcas disposal.
bayern munich keep possession? which possession?

Both teams are built on Louis van Gaal philosophy.
i laugh in boko haram. so louis van gaal's 2 yrs at bayern munich means they had barcelona's philosophy?
dayo, you sometimes make the most outlandish comments. that robotic, mechanical bayern munich has barcelona's philosophy?
you must be high on crack.

Has Rooney ever tried playing with Bilbao in the middle of the Basque, Has he ever had to deal with Palermo  or Catania in the Ultra infested Sicily
i cannot count the number of times rooney has sodomized the ultras in rome, rooney has scored more in rome than he has scored in anfield.
the issue is not the crowd, it's the style of play.

If Messi can do it in colder Russia vs Kiev, Rubin Kazan etc who is Stoke
like i said, the issue is not the weather or the number of inches of ice formed.
it's the way stoke treats every set-piece like corner kick where they put players around the keeper with rory delap's javelin-like throws.
messi will be sacrificed for the big lanky players of barca to deal with stoke.

ritchboy:
The physicality of the EPL is overrated.
tremendously underrated.
messi plays against teams who want to put the ball on the grass and outdo each other and people say he's lethal.
let him come to britannia on a cold night with elbows, kicks and shoves. . . .and let's see how he can handle such physicality.
when was the last time pep guardiola saw an attacking throw-in from the half-way line?

torres has scored 9 goals against chelsea. . . . .how many has he scored @ britannia?
