@ Slim

I understand your feelings 100% - since Arsenal hasn't signed anyone and our best players are alleged to be leaving, we should all commit suicide.

Any negative rumour is treated as fact, but every positive one cannot be true. . . . like I said, one of the most neurotic group of fans I've ever seen.

Skysports, soccernet, goal.com and co must love Arsenal fans. grin
i cannot understand the brouhaha myself. . . . .arsenal fans are fickle-minded.

any player that wants to leave, let him leave. for every departure, there's a player elsewhere ready to wear the badge with honour. united have lost cantona, beckham, schmeichel, roy keane, van nistelrooy, etc and yet the last 5 seasons has been united's most successful period in their history. players will come and go, the club shall remain forever. . . . .

Foreign Affairs › Re: Sexual Assault Case Against Strauss-Kahn Was A Set Up - Charges To Be Dropped by coogar: 4:15pm On Jul 01, 2011
Sun of god:
DSK In Hearing Friday To Seek Release On His Own Recognizance

PARIS (MNI) – The intimate assault case against former International
Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn is unraveling and criminal
charges against him could soon be dropped, the New York Times reported
early Friday morning.

Strauss-Kahn will return to court in New York City today in a
previously unscheduled hearing to seek release on his own recognizance.

The newspaper, citing two well-placed law enforcement officials,
reported that prosecutors no longer believed the account of
Strauss-Kahn’s accuser, because she had lied to them repeatedly and
given inconsistent information. The sources said she was caught in a
recorded telephone conversation one day after the alleged incident
discussing the benefits of pursuing charges against Strauss-Kahn.

The woman, a 32-year old Guinean immigrant who worked as a hotel
housekeeper at Sofitel in Manhattan, said Strauss-Kahn had attacked and
sexually assaulted her when she entered his room to clean it.

The case made huge waves across the political and financial worlds,
given Strauss-Kahn’s position at the pinnacle of international finance,
his crucial role in negotiating aid packages for debt-stricken Eurozone
countries and his front-runner status as a possible Socialist Party
candidate in next year’s French presidential election.

His sudden incarceration, which forced him to resign the IMF post
and appeared to destroy his political career, was a dramatic reversal of
fortune for Strauss-Kahn. This most recent turn of event could prove to
be an equally dramatic reversal — in the opposite direction.

According to the New Times report, the sources said prosecutors
plan to tell the judge on Friday that they have “problems with the
case,” reflecting the likelihood that criminal charges will be dropped.

According to the report, the prosecutors found inconsistencies in
asylum application of the accuser and discovered that she had possible
links to criminals, including people involved in drug dealing and money
laundering.

The man with whom she had the recorded phone conversation a day
after accusing Strauss-Kahn had been arrested on charges of possessing
400 pounds of marijuana, the paper said. He was reportedly among a
number of individuals who had made multiple deposits, totaling about
$100,000, into the woman’s bank account over the past two years.

The latest revelations in the Strauss-Kahn case hit France with as
much electricity as his original arrest. French media Friday morning
were abuzz with chatter about a possible resurrection of Strauss-Kahn’s
presidential hopes.

Michele Sabban, a senior Socialist Party official, urged other
declared Socialist candidates to “suspend the party’s primary for
awhile” in order give Strauss-Kahn the time he needs to sort things out.

http://www.forexlive.com/blog/2011/07/01/intimate-assault-case-against-strauss-kahn-unraveling-press/
i knew it. . . . . .the whole story stank from the start. what would strauss-kahn be doing with an immigrant? if he wanted a roll-in-the-hay, he would hire a high-class hooker. he should sue the living day-light of the media, the hotel, the immigrant and everybody concerned. his reputation has been ruined - he's got nothing else to lose now. he should fight like a wounded carnivore.

i was talking with my lil sister yesterday who happens to b going for batch B service. the talk was about what were her plans after service? The only thing that could come out of her mouth was marry a guy, who would let her have a shop near home so she can be a full time house wife.
i was disgusted becos why waste time and money to be educated to university level when she  will end up not using the degree than to have babies and stay @ home.
I as a person cant have my wife stay @ home as a full time house wife, then what is the essence of your degree. But @ the same time would not want her to have white collar job which will be time demanding, not having time for her family " i mean career hungry wives".
i don't really mind if she decides to work full-time or stay at home as a full housewife. . . . .as long as i get to eat hot meals when i return from work and get good sex at night.

I'm just seeing this story now and the picture and I am in serious shock because I KNOW THIS GUY.

We grew up in the same denomination as teenagers and he was a very committed christian.

We didn't see for a long time until October 2008 at the wedding of one of a friend we both grew up with as teens. We saw again in 2009 at the wedding of another member of our teens fellowship back then.

And this morning, a member of our teens fellowship from back then called me and told me about this story.

I don't even understand how he could do any of these things from beating his wife to eventually killing her.

This is so so sad and just teaches that if we don't deal with "small" issues we have (anger, lust, etc) they can graduate to murder, and many other things and take us places we never thought we could go.

God save us all
you mean you actually know this guy? this is interesting. . . .

what kind of a guy is he? where did he school? which envvironment and when did he become so frustrated that it graduated to him being a psychopath? has he been apprehended and is he showing any signs of sanity?

In terms of Friedel and Schwarzer, they would be excellent signings as a back up to Chez, but that's the point I'm making. Signing a youthful goalie would not be welcomed.

By all three measures, Fabregas represents exceptional value - a 4 year contract, 24 years old and immensely skilled.
what about his dodgy hamstring? it seems his legs are gone. wenger has overused the boy. . . .how many appearances did he cop last season and the penultimate season?

Even if it was a chain reaction, the demand for £50m was made by Liverpool as their estimation of Nando's value. Arsenal's estimation is clearly far above the paltry £35m being offered, especially when Sanchez was going for 38m euros, or Pastore for 50m euros.
torres - immensely skilled, relatively young, had 2 yrs left on his contract. . . .liverpool also sold to a rival club in the league(abominable act). is sanchez going for 38m euros? who would pay that for him? udinese must be having a laugh.

I referenced Figo in terms of his importance to the Barca team.
i agree but figo was also the best player in the world then but cesc is not.

Even the Schneider comparisons are off - how many years did Schneider have on his contract when he moved? Did he have 4 years left? huh
stop mixing schneider(retired german) with wesley sneijder(they are 2 different players) and a veteran like you should know better.

A player's value is often set by his importance to his current side, and not by perceived ability alone.
ohh please. . . . .how much did man utd flog van nistelrooy to real madrid? was nistelrooy not important to man utd? forget the importance to current side otherwise van der sar woulda cost united £100 million when fulham sold him to ferguson. a player's value is set by what is left on his contract, his skill-set and most importantly his age. other stuffs are secondary.

This importance is what set such high prices for Ronaldo, Torres and Carroll, in addition to their ability level.
ronaldo is an anomaly. . . .chelsea overpaid for torres and andy caroll's transfer is a chain reaction of what happened to torres. newcastle knew liverpool had torres' £50 million in their kitty so they were spurred on to make a ridiculous demand.

In terms of importance, I'd compare Cesc to Luis Figo at Barca, and he moved for £36m in 2000. Cesc is EASILY worth more than £40m in the current market.
you are a goat. luis figo was easily in the top 3 players in the world in 2000. cesc fabregas is not in the top 20. at best, cesc is not worth more than £35 million in the current market. £40 million is pushing one's luck!

Utd has signed three players no doubt - I am certain that if Arsenal signed two of those players he would be accused (as usual) of always signing kids and not the experience we desire. I am certain none of y'all would've been impressed if he spent £20m on Jones (effectively breaking our transfer record for an unproven defender), and not many would've seen sense in signing a 20 year old De Gea for £18m when we have a 21 year old Sczezny on the books, needing an experienced head as a back up.
debosky's obsession with man utd continues to blossom. . .

united and arsenal don't have the same deficiencies. why should arsenal sign the kind of players united have signed? chris smalling showed more bottle than the experienced koscielny/squillaci last season. chicharito from the coast of mexico proved you don't have to adapt to european football to bang the goals in whilst chamakh(a european vet) was firing blanks in front of goal. . . .

yes, united signed de gea. . .an experienced top league goalie. in the next 9 months or so, we would talking about de gea's brilliance between the posts. the last person that should be talking about an experienced goalie is an arsenal fan who has got almunia grin grin grin the old for nothing spaniard is not better than united's 4th goalie(ben amos) and he's experienced.

I'm an American girl dating a Naija guy in the US and everything in our relationship is good. We get along well and our personalities mesh. I love him, he's all that I want in a partner and I try to be all that he wants as well. It's still a relatively new relationship.

He's definitely in the mode of settling down, career which he loves, finishing up advanced degrees and he wants to purchase a home soon. I believe he wants a future with me, but he's REALLY open to the idea of getting me pregnant, he is very much like if it happens it happens, but I think he is hoping it does.

I have never been pregnant and I don't want to have a child out of wedlock. I told him that if it does happen I'd have a hard choice to face because I'm 28 and certainly don't want to have any abortion at this age but I don't want a child out of wedlock so unless he's ready for marriage we shouldn't be taking the risks we do. To that he says that yes we would get married soon after if pregnancy occurred and that it doesn't take long to get married it wouldn't be a big deal. But he seems to be more interested in possibly having a child right now than getting married, he knows of married couples where the woman couldn't conceive so I guess he's wary of that? He knows I'm healthy and never had any abortions so hopefully he doesn't have any impotency issues either!

Is it normal for a guy in his early 30s to know so fast that he wants a woman to be the mother of his child? Do you guys just wake up one day and the fatherhood bug catches you, LOL.

Would it not be a shameful thing for him to tell his family (who I haven't met yet) but might they think "this fast American girl got pregnant." My family would be upset but issue mitigated if we got married.

Is it customary for a man to only meet his girl's parents when they are ready for engagement, and vice versa?
he wants to be sure he won't be spending the best part of his salary on ivf processes and stuffs. besides, he's 30, he probably has got mates/colleagues who are fathers at the moment and he's feeling left out in the fatherhood business. if you love him, get pregnant asap or another woman out there might do the deed for you thus condemning you to his second class citizen. as long as he's ready to marry you before the delivery of the child, you have not had a child out of wedlock.
