we have 2 of the top 4 highest earners in the football world. understandably, one of them was mostly injured & unfit for most of the last season, the other is just useless and not worth the hype or the money spent on him.

there's kagawa, hernandez, rafael, mata, nani & herrera. you can hardly say these aren't top class players in their own rights. surely, we need experience in the defence & one marquee signing in the black hole we call the midfield and that's it.

i am sure that is because of his injuries, being played out of position, etc. van persie only started playing as a striker when adebayor & eduardo left arsenal. rooney has been playing as a striker since he was 16. he would be 29 in a couple of months!

rooney became the main man in 09/10 & we won nothing. he scored plenty of goals but forgot to score in the games that matter.

in 10/11, berbatov was the main man. he won a golden boot & was assisted at times by chicharito. rooney wanted out that season as he couldn't bear the fact he was outplayed by a bulgarian & a mexican.

in 11/12, SAF decided to give rooney one last chance to redeem himself in an advanced role. berbatov was relegated to the bench even though he scored more goals than the number of starts. we finished trophyless yet again with rooney becoming anonymous in the games that matter(wigan, everton & city)

in 12/13, SAF had enough of rooney project. he went all out to splash £24m on a 29-year old striker and he made van persie the main man. we won the league by a distance with rooney becoming peripheral at OT!

13/14, moyes made rooney the main man again and he disappointed moyes. we finished below everton & spurs and were out in all competitions bar champions league. van persie came back from injury to score a hatrick that got us a q/final match with bayern munich....rooney single-handedly lost us that game in munich as he stunk out the whole of munich with the most pathetic display by a united striker in european history!

it's 14/15......with rooney leading the line and us starting the season with a loss at home. so i ask again, when has rooney single-handedly steered united into glory like ronaldo, ruud, berbatov or cantona, etc have done?

you could do that because your league is a stroll in the park. apart from the fact that you play 4 league games less than english league, you have 6 weeks of winter break to refresh & recover from fatigue & injuries.

come to the premier league, play in 4 different competitions, play 38 league games without break, play at 5pm on saturday & fly to ukraine for a european game on tuesday then you will understand the meaning of fatigue!

bundesliga spoil their teams so much, they let them play on friday night just to enhance their fitness for european games. you get at least 4 weeks winter break when english teams are dying of heavy christmas fixtures.
