Kslib: ***Clears throat***

So, I will be posting my own specially made pics---- Oyinbo people dey call am MEME!! Ok, Like i said, i will be posting some Meme's I made concerning happenings on Nairaland.. Things we see here everyday, things some of us observe..The MEME's I will be posting from time to time are mine-- I made them personally! AND for the records, I am not Jobless!! sad

Note:: Its all for fun and not that serious, ok! Nobody should feel offended or take it personally!! grin grin
Anyone can feel free to post his or her MEME, but pls make sure it wasn't stolen from the web-- make sure it is pertaining Nairaland and what happens here-- make sure its your work(what you made yourself)..

Like Mr bones will say "Great One, I come in peace". wink

SailorXY: I don't believe the Naija team is over aged, even if we are to say its status quo, the average age will still be 17-19.
Most of the peeps that take interest in football are from humble backgrounds marred by malnutrition & the likes, thereby tend to look smaller than they ought to be. This already put Africans @ a disadvantage in age grade competitions
Besides, despite a kid's physical appearance (agric or stunted), you can always decipher who is young & who is not so young
#my opinion
so iheanacho is 17?

elampiro: How do you know they are averaged? Leave Crisantus out of this one.

I know someone (Ebiaku Sylvanus) who used his real age for Keshi U-21 team of year 2000/2001. I think he was even the captain. He later became Insurance captain. If you saw him them you will think he was 25 or so. Built like a boxer and very energetic. But he was just a kid.

It is only our own that has to been criticized.
they are overaged - they should all be in the super eagles team. they should never be allowed to participate in any age-grade competition.

i can vouch for the europeans - they all have records. each of their players can provide pictures & videos of their progression through the ranks & everything would check out.

i cannot say the same with africans, particularly nigerians. birth certificates & sworn affidavits are about N200 to get so which other evidence is there to prove these fathers are under 17?

If they said our boys could be over aged, I wonder what they will say about Sweden boys.
our boys are overaged....
none of them is less than 25 years of age. it's a shame really that we have resorted to this kind of fraud. where's chrisantus today? when his trajectory was expected to peak, it declined because he was in his peak during the under-17 he won. it then means he couldn't have been less than 26 when he won the golden boot in 2007.

You are trying by all means to justify what he did. She did not even say that she abused him.
what do angry people say when they wave the finger? isn't it "don't ever try this & that again with me & reh reh reh?" the OP said she was boiling like red beans & she "overreacted". can you in your infinite wisdom tell us what she meant by that?

This is one of the reasons Nigeria HAS to CHANGE.
yes - it would have been. issuing threats & being verbally abusive are parts of domestic violence. the hubby has a cooperative witness(his wife) so i am sure both of them would have slept in jail that night if they had both pressed charges.

lady gogo: I believe a woman is first of all an individual before being a Mrs or mama bomboy. We can be anything we want to be if we set our minds to it.

That said, women can live purposeful and fulfilled(yep!) lives outside of being a wife, mother and having a traditional career path. Mother Theresa is a perfect example.

I'm always glad when i see women in male-dominated professions like Engineering, Welding, Plumbing, IT, Accounting, Law, Medicine etc. but we still have a long way to go, because even in these professions you hardly find women in active practice. For example, in accounting and Law you hardly see a female making Partner; the same applies to medicine-most females end up as medical officers or GP's. Be that as it may, i still believe we will get there. We will get there coogar! grin liff us.
this journey is now longer than exodus. i can't wait to see you guys get there. i hope it happens before my demise. grin

trolling? should a man take the first blow before reacting? what if that first blow blinds him permanently?

steph7: Having an argument with coogar is like wishing for your brain cells to commit suicide. This guy is stubborn!!!
back to the topic, what the Op did was wrong and even she , knows it. Th truth is that in rage, common sense at time goes out the window. that being said, two wrongs don't make a right. she didn't even touch the in-law, so how is that self defence. if after slapping or hitting the in law, he beat her up, then that is self defence.
the in law is a shameless, immature tout and I pity the OP's sister. Violence is wrong, irrespective of what caused it!!
the OP initiated the violence - waving a finger in one's face & raising one's voice are all parts of violence. they don't have to be physical to qualify as violence. she started it, he ended it. grin

elampiro: Coogar, after reading the above do you still think Ashley Young was dropped from first because he dived against Crystal Palace? I didn't want to bring up this, but I think you should just know that diving has no connection with his being dropped.
i am even more convinced that ashley young was taken out of the firing line because of the diving incident. your articles have strengthened my beliefs even further that he was kept in ice to protect him from the media scapegoating.

nothing in that article remotely suggested he was left out because of poor performance. young was the sole reason we were able to destroy crystal palace & in the city game, he was as bad as every other player on the pitch. why is he the only one being punished for the poor general performance of the team?

uchetobi: I am reacting to your 'necessary some times' because there is no time violence against a woman is necessary!
this is the nonsense you people keep telling yourself. there's no time violence against women should be tolerated but women should be free to use violence against men? well done. the hypocrisy is complete 7.5 minutes later when these same women want sex equality.

naturally many men are very reluctant to hit a woman, even in self defence, because it is considered very unmanly. in fact, this is something that many violent women like the OP depend upon. they go ahead waving finger in a man's face cos they naturally expect the man not to react - after all, men are emotionless zombies, right?

Anyways im not even bother trading words with you...your thinking mentality is already on full display for all to see...so carry on
yes, we cannot trade words.....
you are intellectually out of my league on issues like this one. when it's about which part of chicken should be hacked or what brand of vegetable is the most delicious, i would be needing your expert advice.

pickabeau1: hahahaha... coogar
women who display aggression towards men stated that they expressed aggression toward their male partners in part because they wished to engage their partner's attention, particularly emotionally. also, assaultive women did not believe that their male victims would be seriously injured or would even retaliate. this is why you would see a tiny woman clutch at the shirt of a big man screaming "you must kill me today"

don't go about provoking people to hit you. even if you are in control of your anger, you cannot control the anger of the individual you are provoking. if she wasn't so confrontational, the matter would have been avoided.

Nashville: This is not supposed to be a gender bashing thread so let be truthful because we are all part of the same society. One of the biggest problems with our society including the men is that we naturally reject successful single women. I have a few female friends in their mid thirties who are doing very well and achieving their dreams. But no husband, not because they are bad girls but because our men are threatened and feel these women will not be submissive.
perhaps if they are in their mid-20s, they would have more suitors. who really wants "aunty" as a wife?

I know some successful married women as well, but most of them married early and their success came after marriage. Truth is that our society as a whole kinda rejects successful young spinsters, so lots of women after school just want to marry before becoming "old cargo". And sometimes they just marry any guy that comes their way forgeting about how the guy can contribute to or kill their dreams.
successful young spinsters are in high demand.....it's only when they get too old that men are skeptical. if i meet a single lady that says she's 36, i would be curious to know her history between age 21 & 36.

deols: What is the probability that she would have hit him?
she said it herself - she was "boiling" & she overreacted. at that point, she has lost control totally.

And you think it is the same as slapping her twice and removing his belt to beat her more?
that's just a ploy to make him look bad. learn to separate the wheat from the chaff. so he slapped her twice, waited for him to remove his belt & started hitting her & she stood there like a statue.

i have a dinosaur in dugbe market, you wanna buy?

What about all the other things she had done for them. Taking care of the wife and their child? Should all of those not count? should they even have cooked without considering her? Both husband and wife appear to be bad people and deserve each other imo. There is nothing wrong with her being angry at the time. That is very normal.
it's one thing to be angry, it's another thing to let the anger becloud one's senses to the extent of misbehaving & provoking others. she could have just walked away from the situation & break glass cups at the backyard to destress.

It is her book though. And she has every right to it, however she wants it.
including being disrespectful when she asked for it back? hahahaha. the dude didn't steal the book from her. he took permission before taking it from her - respect beget respect & i think women get shamelessly brazen when they confront men thinking a man is not supposed to hit them.

And that is a good thing abi. At least she used a kettle on him. I hope he will have to nurse it for long or develop an hematoma as a result.
both parties should lick their wounds & move on. women should never confront/provoke men into violence.

If he does not apologise, it is unforgivable.
goodluck on that.......

when will you people get there? you have been on this journey for more than 100 years & we still have majority of the nigerian women relying solely on their partners to pay their life bills.

It is also your duty to help the women in your lives see this... Support her and spur her to greatness and see how she soars....
the only support an average nigerian woman understands is money. your advice means nothing to them.

deols: If she had slapped him, fine.
But she didn't.
so he should have waited for the first blood to be drawn before reacting? come on - the art of self defense doesn't work that way. she was confrontational & she was moving closer to the dude. was she going to hug him or land him a slap?

The op has laboured for him and his wife. She can get angry and make mistakes as a human being. That is not a reason for anybody to assault her.
she started the assault. raising her voice & waving a finger in someone's face is also an assault.

Cooking for them is not her responsibility but she did so anyway. And because she could not do what they wanted once, they became vindictive.
they had cooked the food when the OP went out. the OP was angry they didn't include her ration & she transferred the aggression to the brother in law.

Husband was simply angry that he could not eat beans early enough. No amount of disrespect from her should have warranted him beating her up. She is not even his wife and owes him NOTHIng. Not even the respect he is asking for. That, he needed to earn. And now he has shown himself to be not deserving of it.
husband had moved on from the initial incident. he was reading his book quietly when the OP accosted him & took the book from him.

As the op, I'd made him PAY in every way that I can. The last thing I will take from anyone is this kind of abuse.
hahahaha
in nigeria, the side with the money would win. it's their word against hers. the hubby has a witness, the OP doesn't. so how do you make him pay?

bukatyne: Some threads on Nairaland like 'Should a married woman sacrifice her dreams' etc. and other similar threads prompted this thread...

I want us to discuss The Woman as a topic under the following sub-topics:

Her Destiny: A woman is first a individual i.e. Shade, Titi, Ngozi etc. before being a wife, mother or daughter and she has a destiny to fulfill in her generation. This is what God has planned for her to be

Her Dreams: This is what she aspires to be (which should generally be in line with her destiny)

Her Talents: These are the gifts she has embedded inside of her to enable her fulfill her destiny

Her Man: This is her husband/fiancée that supports her and vice versa to achieve her destiny

Let's discuss on what we feel on each of the sub topics...

NO BASHING PLEASE
women should be encouraged & they should inspire themselves too that sky is the limit. i scoff when i go to any engineering class & i see 90% of the class are male students. however, when you go to other less mentally-tasking courses(drama, theatre arts, hairdressing courses, etc) women make up the majority.

on top of it all, these are the same women that would scream discrimination in wages forgetting they opted for the easier route right from the foundation. women should now know there's no more excuse not to achieve their dreams.
