It's not that simple, such an exercise isn't part of the state's budget. The cost of retrieving and re-deporting (which is wrong anyway) should be borne by those who made the error.
do anambra people not pay taxes? are your taxes not meant to beautify the state and make life easier for the citizens of your state? is removing destitutes/beggars from the streets of anambra not part of beautifying the state? if peter obi claims his state does not have enough funds to deport/receive, then perhaps he should not be a governor of a state. no error was made here. i fail to see why LASG would waste taxpayer's money taking deportees to faraway anambra when they could have just dumped the destitutes in ogun or oyo! |
LADY OF RAGE: Didn't you hear that a man was picked up on his way to his shop and kept in detention for 6 months? He was among those deported. how wicked could that be!that would amount to a lie..... if he has a shop, somebody somewhere would have come to bail him. his employer/employee/family must have stood for him at the station. he went missing for 6 months and no one came to identify him? |
Have we heard from them? The fact that fake LGAs and villages were provided, either by the deportees or the deporters, speaks volumes.
if they don't have families in anambra, peter obi should re-deport them to wherever they claim to have families.... it's as simple as that! |
Ola Johnson: You lied. Yoruba people from Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states as well as Benin Republic have at one point or the other been deported.duru1 must be an illiterate. he really thinks policemen were raiding houses and putting igbo people in the vans for deportation. people from the other yoruba states had been removed, people from the north have been removed - why do the igbos always complain and claim victimhood? |
Duru1: A stranger to this forum would think that every indigene of Lagos State is gainfully employed or wealthy. According to the so-called SAN, the Fashola, destitute and mentally challenged persons who are Yoruba extraction can roam the Lagos streets and none Yoruba can not.if they have places they can sleep at night and if they have families in lagos, then they are immune to deportation. has any igbo man claimed they were forcefully removed from their houses and deported? why are people making this a tribal issue? |
Timehin: As can be seen from the correspondences anambra state was duly informed about 14 individuals who claimed to be of the state origin but the question is why dump them at the bridgehead of onitsha at such hour of the dayso you expect LASG to personally drive each individual to their respective villages? the next time deportees arrive from UK/USA, ask the pilot to take them directly to their villages. if peter obi had any common sense, he should have been at the spot to receive the citizens of his state with traditional dancers and relief aid!!! Whichever side some may support the truth is that both state governments are to blame for failure of true service to the people and thereby endangering the lives of over 70 nigerians who didn't choose to be poor or sick at odd hours of the day for whatever reason be it reintegration or political. It is a typical example of failure of governance in nigeria by political pretenders who claimed to be leaders.LASG did their due diligence by taking the deportees safe and sound to anambra. peter obi cannot ask for more. trips to the east from lagos are usually in the night, so what's the big deal? Fashola, Obi, Ngige e.t.c should spare us the noise, selfishness and the blame game.obi was irresponsible for not having social workers at the destination to receive the deportees! |
thepathologist: are u humans? or stone without feelings?humans, stones, feelings? you have the brain power of a mosquito. the process of weeding off destitutes should be a national practise. peter obi can also send destitutes of anambra to where they came from....... pato station: "I would be deported to Zamfara"! See how it sounds in your mouth. When did deportation become our way of dealing with issues in Nigeria? Continue reasoning this way.lagos is too congested. fashola welcomes everyone to lagos as long as you are coming in to contribute to the development of the state. destitutes don't contribute, they destroy......and they have been sent safely to their state of residence..... |
pato station: The way Nigerians are relating to this issue baffles me. Whether BRF wrote Obi or not, I still feel it is improper for any state to deport any Nigerian citizen to anywhere. If a governor finds destitutes in his state, he has to put them where destitutes are kept, not minding their state of origin. Any state that arrests criminals should prosecute them in the courts. You don't need to dump anyone for anybody. Nigeria can never be a united country as long as people are seen as visitors and strangers in their own country.you live in a bubble.... it's not improper for any state to get rid of the destitutes constituting nuisance in the state. these people contribute nothing but chaos. they were apprehended and sent back to their states of residence..... Nebeuwa: Why are you so dumb?you are a tool..... destitutes need their families - they need a place to sleep at night. these deportees have nowhere to sleep in lagos, they sleep rough in every corner they can find & the government sent them back to where they came from - what's the illegality in that? perhaps, peter obi should start doing the same too. if there are destitutes in anambra, send them back to their families before criminals chop their heads off for rituals. peter obi should be grateful the residents of his state were brought back safe and sound....what an ingrate he must be! |
The cyanide percentage in apku and fufu has made average ibo man very dumb.smh!
cyanide in akpu and fufu? you are not serious.... |
Unite them with their people by dropping them in a foreign state by the roadside in the middle of the Night? Btw,who told you that those people needed to be re-united with their people? They were not lost for God's sake.
yes, they were lost! all of them are destitutes with no families in lagos. they sleep under the bridge. if they had families in lagos that can house them, they wouldn't have been removed!!! |
Nebeuwa: I never heard an indigene of Anambra answer the surname Agboola!agboola's parents are resident of anambra not indigenes....the process is to reunite deportees with their families wherever they are in nigeria, not necessarily the state of origin. why are some nigerians daft? |
Policewoman: This has shown once again that the lagos state government is made up of liars and deceitful people. I have picked up about 6 names there that are not from Anambra because the local govt areas quoted do not exist.stop applying village sense to a national issue. the parents of emmanuel okon and victoria agboola can be anambra residents. the key is for the deportees to reunite with their families, not necessarily to take them to their states of origin! if i am yoruba and my parents stay in zamfara, i would be deported to zamfara - that's the key!!! |
peter obi is a pathological liar.......i keep wondering what he wanted the LASG to have done in this case? the deportees travelled in the night with a van of mobile police officers and arrived anambra in the wee hours of the morning...... what's the big deal? security was provided for them according to the reports i have read. is peter obi disagreeing with the 3am arrival of the deportees or is he in disagreement of the deportation of his kinsmen? he should come out and say instead of lying through his teeth. |
cowgurl: C'mon Coogar, that was really uncalled for.https://i.imgur.com/iAbKrqP.gif |
pistol: They are on the next available bus back to Lagos..https://i.imgur.com/iAbKrqP.gif |
biolabee: Thanks do you think this old interpretation of a girls maturity should still hold in these modern age considering she is to attain a good level of educationthis is where the dilemma lies.....united nations or UNICEF(the west) cannot make that decision - only the people of the area concerned can determine what age is appropriate for a child to marry. it's their custom, it's their religion. when the west decided to back gay marriage, did they consult the saudi monarch or the taliban?? |
nowwhat: we live 10 hours apart so its not like i can see his lifestyle now, but i really doubt its changed. i have by no means been a perfect wife either. i cant observe his daily behaviour when he only visits for a day each year. my boys are at a very impressionable age and i have to move carefully. boys tend to copy their dad so am i better being single, or waiting for him to change, or going back and just hoping for the best or ending the relationship for good?go back to their father and raise these boys the proper way. don't add to the statistics that say 43% of the kids raised in america are without their dads. you are likelier to get away with raising girls on your own than trying to raise boys on your own. boys need a father figure - the time is now! |
CNN80: And this is why I refused to have a discussion with you. I love having intellectual discourses with people. We don't even have to agree, we just have to have an open mind about each other's point of view. But you!! You've made up your mind about something that doesn't even directly affect you, tarred and feathered anyone who has a contrary view and launched vitriolic attacks against people who argue with you.errrrrr, does it look like i give a flying fück if you refuse to have a discussion with me? Because of this, I usually skip over your post and by doing so, it is possible that I have missed out on learning something new and good from you. But when you present good food in an unpalatable manners, the chances of anyone eating it is low.i don't make these comments to please you or anyone - my opinion is my opinion. you either dance to it or ignore it completely. |
is that genevieve in afro smoking blunts? |
slimyem: Women are breaking the norm but it is not socially appropriate here yet. The why it disturbed the op and the birth of this thread.not socially acceptable where? slimyem, are you really expecting a woman to ask you out? only a guy can tell you if it's now prevalent in lagos for a woman to be upfront, not you!!! Who says she has to wait two years or eternity?decorum? you are exaggerating! most guys actually prefer a lady that goes for what she wants. no games!!! He knows I like him, my morality bar has told him, why do I need to shove it in his face?the earlier the better, it's her own way of telling him the relationship must be long-term. naija babes mostly date for one reason - marriage! whether you are upfront with the topic or not makes no difference...... |
deols: It is very possible. But if it had gone down well with op, we wont be having this discussion. It shows that he wasnt prepared for what she was presenting to him.it didn't go down well with the OP because he's a little bit wet behind the ears.... what's with the pretence when we all know more than 90% of the nigerian female youths are dating to get married? Would it make sense that she gives room for his preparedness since she may not be aware of how prepared he may have been?unless the original poster is less than 21, he should be prepared for any outcome....... it's not like she's dragging him to the altar next week. slimyem: I am not saying its not possible. Even if it weren't,,op's girl has beat record.get with the new order. women are breaking the norm and going for what they want these days. i admire such brazenness. you might wait for a guy to come to you and his mind might be elsewhere. this girl is thrilled, she seems to like the OP to bits and she's got a gift of foresight to see the husband material in the OP...... i say let her...... Even if the man ticks all her boxes, she is still too forward and its too early to be that forward. No limits,no filter!! Haba!! ....and I am not assuming. I'm just trying to understand why a 27-yr old lady would throw herself at a guy like that. If you ask her,she hasn't been like this most of her life. Its the pressure.you have not answered the single most important issue here......what's the difference between meeting a guy and telling him your expectations within 2 days or telling him within 2 years? should she pretend and wait till eternity before she makes her intentions known to him? i mean - it's not like your opinion of a guy you newly met often changes drastically. if you like a guy, you like him. whether you voice it out or not is immaterial. the guy himself must know you like him and your morality bar must tell him you are not for a short-term relationship which means there's no question of being too forward!!!! |
slimyem: okay now.that assumption is premature.... it's very possible for a woman to meet a man after 2 days and discuss marriage. the man ticks all her boxes and she's taking her chance before someone else does..... |
bukatyne: Just now you said every feminist is a modern oneof course, anyone still championing feminism today is the modern one. the first wave of feminism died last century. Most or all the participants have claimed NOT to be feministsyou are getting it wrong - a woman can be aggressive and caustic without being a feminist, but all modern feminists are aggressive and caustic.... |
bukatyne: It's not a quality of feministsit's actually the main qualities of the modern wave feminists.......they are vile, obnoxious, aggressive, self-centred, priggish, caustic and with a deep-rooted hatred for the opposite gender. if a woman is not exhibiting these traits, then you don't belong to the posse of modern feminists! |
biolabee: kinky ish...mac and jarus can confirm..... I read an article by a muslim women and she seems to disagree. It baffles me though that few muslims have spoken against this.. even the southernersrinsola abiola is an alarmist and perhaps a semi-illiterate. VVF is a poverty disease, nothing to do with the age of the bride. the high number of VVF is to do with hygiene, lack of quality health care and illiteracy. why isn't VVF existent in the US(the country with the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the universe)?? |
biolabee: Schooled...the gender wage-gap is another myth cooked up by feminists to cause commotion. i remember this issue was raised by that obnoxious, vile feminist equality minister(miss harriet harman) in the UK........until she was put in her place by the hacks.... https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/05/article-1225360-0716DABF000005DC-401_233x308.jpg as you can see, women who work part-time in the UK actually earn more than their male counterparts..... During the summer, watchdog Sir Michael Scholar, head of the UK Statistics Authority, wrote twice to Miss Harman's department warning of misleading use of gender gap data. He told the Equalities Minister in the spring that her interpretation of state earnings surveys could 'confuse the general public' and 'undermine public trust in official statistics'. Yesterday the ONS report pointed out that because 41 per cent of women in employment work parttime, compared with only 11 per cent of men, Miss Harman's preferred method skews the figures to make women look worse off. |
deols: I am not in support of a woman hiding her feelings. I have supported, over and over again, a woman going out to say her mind and daring the consequences.and i am saying that fear is largely misplaced.... there's no rule book that says couples must wait for 20 years to assess compatibility. a woman knows within 5 mins if she can date/marry the guy asking her out....if he ticks all the boxes, why wait? I'd ask him questions like, have you known me long before now?.....truth is - you cannot truly know him until cohabitation. all those courtships are mostly ridden with pretence and eye service. knowing him starts after marriage or cohabitation! When I read the first page, I thought there was nothing wrong with it. But when Op said they have known each other for only FOUR days, I became wary.for a woman, the above point is true......cos the general perception is that the man is just saying that to get sex. however, for a guy like the OP, i see nothing wrong in a woman telling him what her expectations are.... i have more respect for women like her than the pretending vipers! |
bukatyne: There will always be extremists and fanatics in every cause/movement. Boko Harams, Ignorant Christians etc. comes to mind. However, I always wonder when every anti-feminist (especially on NL) sees the extreme ones as a representation of the wholeevery anti-feminism on NL sees the feminazis as a representation of the whole because the equality war has been won already. what else are you still fighting for? are women not in school? do women not vote? what organisation is anti-female in our world today? so what else is there to fight for if not superiority? I used to say 'what a man can do, a woman can do also' till it occurred to me that I was only doing what I accused men of doing: Claiming to be superior...you are a modern wave feminist = feminazi. the pioneers have won the war way before we were born. women were voting in the 1890s in the US and if you must know, many men(non-landowners and coloured men) were forbidden from voting in the past too. biolabee: @coogar...99cent needs therapy! |
Sissie: If reverse was the case and it was a man who said the same thing she said, many people would have thought it romantic, but since it's a female she's desperate.you must be very intelligent...... |
bukatyne: The truth is that inequality/equality starts from the mind/heart. How would you prove to be better when you do 'an eye for an eye'nah - fighting for superiority mocks the memory of the true fighters of feminism. all they wanted was equality - not asking for lawmakers to close female prisons as women cannot be that dangerous to be in prison. what the heck is that? A poster mentions your daughter, tell him/her to stir clear of your family and face youi don't babysit posters who step out of line.....i return thunder for fire! |
bukatyne: I thought you are against equality?how can i be against equality? show me where i said women don't deserve to be in school or gain employment? the fight for equality had been won aeons ago - what we have today is the fight for superiority..... the person i insulted started the personal attack talking about my daughter......in equality, it's give and take. if she can give it, then she must learn to take it. |
so what would you rather have? where a woman pretends not to like a guy she really likes? what does it matter if she expresses herself the 2nd day or the 200th day? |
