Benilily: lets get this straight... Y r u scared of d igbos?? Cus hez smart nd rules you even in ur own state... Y nt scared of d hausas? Cuz they litter ur street as beggers nd almagiris!!! Nw u understand ryt?? No matter wat u do.. We will still strive!!! Afterall after d civil war, evry ibo man was striped of his money jxt 2 make us poor nd beggars, but where r we 2day?? D biggest buisness counsious in naija nd we are making it... Up Biafra jhorscared of igbos? why should yorubas be scared of the people that are helping them to develop their states? if/when the shyte hits the fan, we would see how the igbos would lift their houses on their heads and take them back to the east........ you people don't even know you are leaving nothing for your unborn generation. the development should be concentrated in the east, not lagos. challenge your stüpid governors to create an enabling environment to let igbo sons develop the SE states.... muktarl: let the truth be said now or never. was lagos considered part of SW before capital was moved to abuja? is just like we middle belt claiming that abuja is our making. yourobas did not contribute anything to lagos. all the roads were already mapped out and done. all fashola did was to paint it and plant flower that all. the ports were built bg fg, the airport was built by fg. that is why i still respect the ibos, they did everything by thenselves. let me tell you the first time i was in onitsha and enugu i was amazed by the development of this ibos, and yet they claim that they are marginalized. below is a typical capital developed by yourobasawolowo had turned lagos to los angeles whilst the leaders of the other regions were faffing around. the western region were far ahead in terms of development and civilization. keep spewing nonsense from your mouth - if onitsha/enugu are developed, why are the igbos scared to stay in their own states? why would any igbo man leave his mansion in the east to sleep in the dirty ajegunle in lagos? does that make sense to you? |
muktarl: my father has trailers. i travel all parts of nigeria. there is no real ibo man in all those hamlets you mentioned. this is only reason ibos are in lagos; lagos port. when govt complete ibaka deep sea and connect it to onitsha, then you know what will happen to lagos. the only reason this lagos port is busy is because of ibos and govt knows this. the war to keep ibos in nigeria benefited the SW more than we northerners that fuoght the war. the picture below show you the only reason ibos are still in lagos. mind you iboman is smarter than we hausas talkless or yourobas. an average ibo man is very very smart. he can make water out of stone, it was soyinka that made that comment.if an average igbo man is smart, they would stay in their states and develop their land. they would not be encroaching other states to sleep under the bridge. what's the future of the coming generations of igbo kids? the SE states would soon become forests as all the igbos continue to migrate to the SW to eke a living. |
muktarl: let the truth be said now. i follow my fathers trailer to all parts of nigeria. the only place you will see ibos in SW is lagos, this is because lagos was former capital. and again lagos has seaport simple. if they complete the one in akwaibom, am sure you know what will happen to lagos. they will connect the one in akwaibom to onitsha and matter will finish.we want the matter to finish right away.....let them go to akwa ibom and leave lagos if they cannot respect the customary laws of the land..... STOP PLAYING POLITICS Mr. Joe Igbokwe, the leader of Igbos in Lagos has warned critics not to play politics with the recent relocation of some Igbo destitute from Lagos by the state government.there you have it......from the mouth of a fellow igbo man....80% of the ndigbos made their money in lagos and some charlatans are here spewing piffle and biting the fingers that fed them. bunch of ingrates! |
muktarl: these are youroba alumanjiris. it is a common site in the SW. as a northerner with my 6years sojourn in SE operating between onitsha and enugu i have not seen a single ibo man beggar or alumanjiri, they always busy with one thing or the other. i wish my northern people will emulate the east. they are models. they hospitable.90% of those kids sitting down are igbos - you can tell by the shape of their foreheads. bomboys and emekas! |
muktarl: is this what you call development.? that is why SW will continue to trail north in poverty and under development.there are more igbos in ibadan than yorubas in the entire south east states. if there's no development in the south west, why are your people so desperate to stay in the south west without clothes and shelter? |
superstar1: Let every state do same, and let us see who will be in for it more.akwa ibom deported 2 destitutes they picked up in uyo to lagos earlier this year. fashola did not go to the media to scream like peter obi the simpleton did. igbos continue to scream lagos is dirty, yorubas are filthy and yet they will not leave lagos. some are even saying if all igbos leave lagos, lagos economy would collapse. ![]() maybe the igbos thought they would take the sea ports and the airport with them to onitsha......why do these people always feel they are being persecuted all the time? why? muktarl: as an unbiased commentor. an niether ibo or youroba.the almajaris in the SE & SS were all taken by their relatives to lagos and the SW. these are the same destitutes fashola is taking back to their villages. by december, almajaris in the SE would outnumber the other divide. |
debrief08: Take you Gender wars to those you fight them with.nah, violence has a gender on this forum..... come on, do you really believe this woman is the culprit? surely, the husband did it. women are nurturing, caring and emotional beings - they cannot even hurt a fly! |
while you people are here arguing, 3 luxurious buses packed with deportees are leaving tonight to owerri......hopefully, by december, fashola would have cleaned out all the igbo destitutes in his state.... fashola is too much! |
debrief08: Cougar how can she be lying when she had bite and wond marks? Did she bite herself and inflict those wounds just to "set up" her madam?women? violence? it just doesn't happen. women don't do violence, men are the beasts, monsters, animals, etc. i have never heard/seen/read about a woman committing a violent crime since i was born so this story does not make sense to me. i am sure her husband wore female clothes and perpetrated the barbaric act..... |
i don't believe this story - no woman has been this violent in the history of humanity. the housemaid must be lying to the police..... perhaps the hubby committed the grievous offence or at worst, the hubby made the wife do it. |
Someone who has been detained may be too ashamed to return or wouldn't want their parents worrying about them in their present state.
hahahahaha - no wonder peter obi is living the life of a crime boss. 80% of anambra citizens are in lagos or planning to move to lagos. the funds allocated to feed 2 million anambra citizens is shared by peter obi and few thousands that stay in anambra! |
KenGali: So you now accept that Fashola is deporting poor people!nah, fashola is deporting destitutes and vagrants, the low-lifers, psychiatric patients that were dumped in lagos state by their relatives, etc.
Like I said, deportation within one's own country isn't final, as long as we remain one country. Nothing stops their families from putting them on the next bus to Lagos, if they choose to go back.
if you were detained for 6 months in a lagos cell, would you go back after you reunite with your family? |
KenGali: Be rest assured they are all in Lagos as we speak so start searching!then peter obi has no shame! i think it's a disgrace that the citizens of anambra state would leave the comforts of their own in the east and travel all the way to lagos and sleep under the bridge...... obi should be ashamed that his kinsmen are destitutes in lagos - if anambra is a land flowing with milk and honey, why would their people go to lagos and beg? it simply means obi has failed his people. shame on him!! |
lol. If you say so. Just wanted to point out to those viewing this "reunion/ deportation" as final that it isn't, as long as we remain one country.
fashola welcomes all the industrious and serious-minded igbo people coming to lagos to contribute to the state. lagos need that money to develop their state - but he would not tolerate the scavengers and the destitutes who want to turn lagos into a shïthole! |
Delafruita: http://afolayinka./2013/08/02/anambra-deportationwhere-governor-fashola-got-it-wrong/this blogger is a consummate rëtard..... how can he say destitutes can go anywhere in nigeria and constitute a nuisance? why can't he open his gates and let the destitutes stay in his compound? |
I haven't said it doesn't happen. What stops the deportees from returning since entry clearances are not required within one's own country?
if they return to lagos again, they would be picked up again and sent back.....the money to ship them out of lagos and the security provided is peanuts to lagos state. |
I stated a fact. Deportation within one's own country is pointless. Keep providing free transportation, Lagos state government's prerogative.
deportation is not pointless - it happens everywhere.. where are the destitutes in abuja city? where were the destitutes when nigeria hosted the junior world cup in 99? each state should endeavour to remove the undesirables in their state. |
ilugunboy: That fool have never step his Almajiri foot into Lagos......you are very correct! the igbos in lagos are mostly exposed and enlightened, they would never argue the way the noisemakers here are doing. it's those ones residing in the village that are actually talking nonsense. they are so staunch, very rigid and stuck in their igbotic beliefs. how can any logical human being say igbos don't beg in lagos? |
pato station: God bless you for your good statements. Tomorrow if they ask you of your religion, you will respond "Christian" or "Muslim". I am yet to meet an Ibo beggar in Lagos or elsewhere.there are thousands of igbo beggars in lagos....destitutes lying everywhere, begging alms. are you kidding me? |
Then makes it wrong. Their families not the government should collect and keep them.
if the government had alerted the families, they would have been there to receive them. anambra state government is irresponsible! |
pato station: I hear you! What makes you think that you cannot be a destitute tomorrow even though you may be fine today? What makes you think that those your relatives in London cannot suddenly become bankrupt and destitute?not in this lifetime..... people don't just become destitutes, homeless, hungry and nakëd. you are a troglodyte comparing me to your homeless kinsmen in lagos. shouldn't you as an igboman be ashamed people from your village are begging alms in lagos. if you are against their removal, why not house them? why not advise them to go back to onitsha and start a new life? |
It is indeed shameful, If infact they are Anambra and should be advised to leave not forcibly removed
they would not leave voluntarily - they have to be forcibly removed..... |
basilo101: Lol, i cn c hw enlightened u are. U cn evn use logic 2 prove me wrong, resorting 2 insult is such a lowlifeare you not ashamed people from your village are walking nakëd in lagos, roaming the streets, sleeping under the bridge, etc. if you are a true igbo son, you should be helping these destitutes or advising them to go back home and do something with their lives.... i reiterate, you are a disgrace! |
basilo101: Ur argument no make sense o. If na lyk dat eeh, Lagos go get d highest number of deporteesyou are a fool! your semi-illiteracy is the reason why i am not making sense to you....you are a disgrace! the people making noise on this thread don't stay in lagos....the igbos staying in lagos are generally enlightened and wouldn't even be proud to see their kinsmen sleeping under the bridge or walking nakëd on the streets begging alms. |
Wrong comparison, you can't compare obtaining personnel information from a company which would be properly documented to ascertaining the origin or residency of random persons. How do you propose that Obi should have gone about ascertaining the origin and residency of all the deportees. Do you think people who don't want to be deported would give you their families' addresses. Are you implying that if these deportees had said they have family in Lagos, they would not have been deported?
you are talking bollocks.... if they had families in lagos, where are the families to come and verify the identity of the deportees? |
Rockyheight: There are homeless americans in NYC who are not native of the city, is it possible for the Mayor of NYC to deport them to their states of birth or origin! what fashola did is desipicable to say the least. Before any body ascribe ethnic coloration to my opinion am yoruba. And am sure some of this so called deportees have voters card and might have voted for him.i can bet it wasn't despicable when peter obi did the same sometime ago..... |
People who are not too keen on being "deported" would give false info. So now that some are destitute in Anambra and clearly have no families to go to, should the ones who mad ethe rror now retrieve them and investigate their true areas of origin?
people who are not keen on being deported might give false info but it would be in neighbouring states, not in faraway anambra! besides, the names of the deportees were made known to anambra state. why did obi not reject these names and LGAs outrightly if they were fake? a responsible state government should have done their due diligence to confirm the authenticity of those names.... |
I reiterate: I doubt very much that non-Igbos would want to be deported to Anambra state specifically.
not if they have families staying in anambra state. unless you are saying anambra has 100% igbo residents, then the comment above does not hold water.... |
So why were names of places manufactured? and why does the document state: "In view of the above, I am to inform you that Fourteen (14) person who claimed to be indigenes of your State are currently in our centre....."?
that was the information the deportees gave LASG officials - whose problem is that? anambra state knew the names of the deportees, did they contest the residency of the deportees? |
Nebeuwa: Look at this spin you are trying to do.exactly.... since they cannot contribute to lagos state, then they have to be removed. the right to stay in lagos hinges on the matter of contributing to the state either in taxes, rent, bills, etc. |
As has been pointed in many previous comments, some of those deported aren't even Igbo. Secondly, I see some manufactured names of places. Why should someone else bear the cost of another's error? I don't see how a non- Igbo person would want to be deported to Anambra specifically so I every much doubt that the false information was provided by the deportees. It was the duty of the Lagos government to ensure that they were deporting Anambra indigenes only to Anambra state. If any doubt existed, they were to investigate further.
they don't have to be igbos to be deported to anambra - are yorubas, calabar people, hausa people not living in anambra? the process is about integrating deportees with their families and not necessarily to their states of origin. a destitute in anambra with a family in lagos would be deported to lagos to meet his family. anambra residents are not 100% igbos. people from the other states in nigeria reside in anambra so your point is barely scratching the surface - stop concentrating on state of origin, focus more on state of residence |
shymexx: I hear that.the igbos make me laugh - everything in this world was designed to oppress them. fashola has been deporting destitutes to neighbouring yoruba states without hiccups. i did not see the governors of oyo, ondo and osun complain about the process and yet an irresponsible lout of a governor in anambra is throwing temper tantrums.... pato station: Yeah, some Nigerians are daft and others are very unreasonable. By dumping those people by Onitsha headbridge in the dead of the night, they have really been united with their families! If the Fashola government is sincere on this issue, it should have traced those families and handed them over; probably with photos to show the "humanitarian deed".if peter obi was sensitive enough, he should have made proper arrangements to receive the deportees. letters had been sent since april - what arrangement did the state make? you really expect LASG to drive to 14 different LGAs and drop deportees? |
