kalokalo: The success of the EPL with global viewers is mostly due to the status of the English Language as the international language for pretty much everything. That is why almost anyone on the planet including Nigerians can watch their matches and understand the play or read their sports news and know what is going on in the football business.

the success of their league is because of the aggressive marketing, the brand and the pristine organisation. they have also spent billions on it and it's credibility attracts sponsors all over the globe. what does it have to do with the language? you really think the spanish/french-speaking countries don't have their own commentators to run the commentaries of the english league? i can see your problem - you need to come out of your cocoon!

Do you think if the EPL matches were run and conducted in another language, say Spanish, there won't be a drastic drop in viewership and following? Its the same reason why Hollywood is popular around the world. Almost everyone can watch their movies and understand. How many french or German or Italian movies do you know? Try producing a Clint Eastwood or Johnny Depp movie in french and see if most people will even hear about it. How many non-English speaking music artistes have you heard of? If Rihanna or Beyonce sang in German despite their talent, you probably won't know them. They are not better than artistes in other countries. They only have bigger audiences due to language.

if it's conducted in yoruba, people would still watch it. in the early 90s when serie a was on top, people watched it regardless of the language. what has language got to do with football? you people can come up with the most idiotic theories to back your beer palor analysis.

The EPL enjoys benefits massively from the above trends which explains why they make the most money. They are not as good as their media hypes or markets them. The Spanish, German and Italian leagues are technically better which is why any of those countries will most certainly beat them in a World Cup for example.

valencia joined man utd in july 2009 on a 4 yr deal - his contract was supposed to end in july this year. if we didn't offer him a contract, he would be free to enter a pre-contract by the ending of this month. it means he had 6 months left on his contract before his deal came. why then do we expect nani who has 18 months left to be offered a contract right away when his opposite number ran his own contract down till the last 6 months?

recently, the british media have been peddling the de gea exit rumours too - just because victor valdez is stalling his contract in barca. some have even suggested united would do a straight swap with barcelona. every single mistake of de gea has been highlighted to make his exit rumours believable and i am sure some of our fans would lap it up. joe hart, pepe reina and cech have all made eye-popping errors this season but they get ignored.....the myth that de gea is not good enough must be aired so that gullible football fans can lap it line hook and sinker.

a clear-cut chance can be defined as a situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score, usually in a one-on-one situation, or from very close range. it also includes penalties and is generally related to when a player has a free shot on goal with only the goalkeeper to beat.

now the second statistics(having taken the game in hand of arsenal and west ham into consideration) showed chelsea are the 9th highest team in terms of CCC stats! if you are not daft, does this statistic measure up to the world class talents in chelsea? we are talking facts, you are talking racism!!!! at least, pretend you are smart for once by keeping quiet instead of arguing against logic.

the reason the michus, defoes and lamberts have scored more goals than chelsea is because the inverted wingers don't come into the area where torres would normally operate from.....chelsea's problems are compounded because MAZACAR are too fixated in running inside instead of playing like traditional wingers. run the flanks, cross the ball to the box and let the centre forward finish off. lennon/bale are proper wingers......routledge and the other rasta guy are proper wingers...puncheon n his opposite winger act like wingers......but the moment hazard n oscar get the ball, they cut in and force torres wide cos too many players can't occupy the same space at the same time.
