chingyjant: My Friend get your fact right who told you Chico and Zeb Ejiro are Igbos? They are both Urhobos. If you are properly enlightened you will know that Ejiro is no where near an Igbo name
i just threw a name in there - i don't really care where the ejiros hail from but only a lunatic would deny there's no tribalism in nollywood. the yoruba stars have complained times without number that they don't get the big roles in nollywood because it's an igbocentric industry. far majority of the funds come from igbo stakeholders so you get your facts right instead of chasing after cheap pedantry!

phreakabit: Yes and Igbo actors repeatedly make the cut in movies directed by Tunde Kelani et co, right? Oh I forgot, there is no form of restrictions in Yoruba movies. . . They speak "ENGLISH" hence throwing the roles open for all.

For your info Mercy Johnson isn't Igbo, neither are Olu Jacob, Joke Silva, Ini Edo, Omotola, Ramsey Noah, Desmond Elliot, Pat Attah, Stella Damasus, Kate Henshaw, RMD e.t.c. . . . Well you see for yourself. If they didn't make the cut, it was/is simply because they weren't/aren't good enough! Acting goes beyond yelling and crying.
you are a tool!
tunde kelani makes a movie once in 2-3 yrs......if yoruba actors depend on that then they would become scavengers feeding on scraps on a refuse dump. fact is - the far majority of the so called nollywood movies are funded by the igbos. unless you have been living under a rock, this information is not far fetched!

eniola badmus(aka gbogbo big girls)

Actually, I didn't abandon English home video completely, I still do TV series in English. I have about two of such soaps running on some television channels now. Though, there was a time I almost left but I didn't abandon the genre completely. I noticed that there was a lot of tribalism there. About two or three producers actually approached me to consider adopting an Igbo name which I rejected. I told them I would not sell my birth right. More so, my parents won't be happy with me.

I'm from a very good home. So I told them that if they couldn't accept me for what I am, I would rather go to where I'll be accepted better and that was why I crossed over to the Yoruba sector. But now, I still do TV series. But there's a project in the pipeline now that has to do with the English sector. They've been calling me back now.

rukky sanda

When I had my first audition, I got a role instantly. That was with Sunny Mac-Don, but what I have realised recently when I came fully into acting is that there is an issue of tribalism. But I think this is uncalled for because I have been given roles several times and later rejected simply because I’m of the Yoruba stock. I think that is really wrong. People don’t have to be rejected because of their tribes. This has really affected me.

femi brainard

I do more of Yoruba movies because of tribalism ; but filming is filming, English, Yoruba, French or Portuguese. There was a time a certain producer asked me to put an Igbo name to my name so that he would help me with the Igbo marketers but I told him I couldn’t sell my birthright. He didn’t say it in a derogatory manner, but he said it because he wanted me to succeed more. To that person, I said God bless him.

people blaming the premier league need to get a life.....

the sports ministry should take all the blame for poor organization, epileptic management and the strangulation of the football league. england did not force nigeria to watch the premier league....other african countries like ghana and ivory coast even have more players in england than nigeria so what's the excuse?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by coogar: 9:04pm On Jan 22, 2013
Ibime: There was no phocking corner. Shut ya pie hole if you didn't watch the match. A long ball out of Naija defence was nodded back by the Burkinabe's and Mikel and his midfield were caught out by primary school header back into the position where they should be.
you are still a tool......
the position you showed still had mikel as the closest player to the back four. if you are not stüpid, does it not also occur to you that the back four should have moed closer upfield to catch runners offside? look at the picture very well.....why are the other 4 nigerian players not in the picture?

Neither was it Keshi's instruction for the team to go gung-ho in the last minute of injury time. No coach would ever give such instruction, not even Keshi.
even if keshi did not instruct them to go gung-ho, he wouldn't have also instructed them to stay back and invite pressure. once that ball was hoofed into the opponent's area, the back four should have moved upfield and close the gap between mikel obi and their defence line. that's common sense, ibime - except that you are too fat to comprehend football tactics......
Now you're going overboard here.
No one's absolved the woman of her guilt! Or am I missing something here?
you all have -
go back and read the comments again. people are blaming extra marital ish for the death of the children when the cause of death was a psycho. if every man that has engaged in extra marital ish loses all their children then there would be no kids in nigeria. extra-marital activity did not kill the kids, a woman did!

It goes without reason that she's guilty and many have said so . BUT in addition to that, it's also being said that the man can't get off scot free. He is just as guilty - afterall, he introduced that woman into his life - abi?
thanks for stating the obvious...... cheesy grin
so the man is equally guilty of what? murder? lolololol! unless you can prove this man paid a woman to have his kids murdered and told her to get caught, then you are just winding me up. the man is completely innocent!!!
That's a far fetched assumption and not really applicable in this scenario.
it's very very applicable!
more often than not, women lie about the paternity of their pregnancy. you watch maury, jeremy kyle and what not. it's not everytime a woman speaks the truth about the father of her unborn child. sometimes, they have slept with so many men they don't even know which of them owns it so they just pick which is more convenient for them.

You're going off on a tangent again.
Re the bolded: How you take know? Or are you speaking from experience Coogar? grin grin
of course....
i must be a wizard to also know witches would go to hell. grin

They'd been there for what? An hour and yet he was keen to get back!
they left their children at home alone.......
under normal circumstances, one of them should have stayed with them or leave them in the custody of an adult. so it's quite normal that the man quickly wanted to get back to his kids.

My guess is that she must have mentioned / threatened to harm his kids if he didn't get back asap.
the more reason the man would be keen to quickly get back......which is a contrast to your claims that the man knew something about it. if he did, he wouldn't even receive any calls from the psychopath. he would have also stayed longer at the party to remove all suspicions from him and the plan would have also directed the psychopath to escape immediately after her deeds to remove all suspicion.

efemena, over to you.....

Oh well, we can go back and forth on this. Fact remains that he's lost 4 innocent kids. $ innocent kids who most likely would still have been alive today if only he'd been able to control his JT.
Shikena!
his inability to control his jt did not kill his children, a woman killed the kids.
if the miscontrol of a married man's jt automatically leads to the death of a married man's children then we would have heard of several cases like this unless you are saying this is the only cheating husband in the whole of nigeria.

I aint pissed off. Super chickens do not concern me any bit. I dey show una how MOPOL midfielder cannot defend, always escorting players up and down the pitch.
94th minute, defending a 1-0 lead. . . see una defensive midfielder. . . .the most experienced midfielder in the team, allowing his midfield to go walk about and going walk about himself. . . . thunder fire anybody that claims this is good defensive midfield play. . . may your bollocks shrivel up this very night!!!

If Makalele played liked this, Mourinho woulda scalpelled his balls.
ibime - mikel is the man designated to take set-pieces. i am sure the break was from a resulting corner and the burkina babes broke very sharply but without purpose. even with that position - the opponents still had so much to do to score. 4 strikers shouldn't be scoring against 4 defenders(no numerical advantage). everything fell apart when yobo n his mate went for the same ball and missed it completely!

But what Coogar is saying is that, ladies on this thread transferred the blame from whom actually is to be blamed (the woman) to another party (the man).
thank you for the insight.......
a woman murdered 4 children and somehow the man is the culprit or the man must have sparked the reaction. the blame culture in nigeria can be very hilarious atimes - we never get to blame the culprit - it's always the victim. lose the wallet you kept in your backpocket and nigerians would blame you for foolishness........would the wallet have developed its own legs and walk away if there was no thief that nicked it?

At least were getting somewhere. You now agree this man was involved with her - and she wasn't some random stalker that had the hots for him.
i agreed for argument's sake
even if he was involved with the woman - how do we know this "involvement" wasn't decades ago? that's the point!!! some female psychopaths still nurture the dream of being with the guy that took their hymën eons ago. bush women they are - attaching so much importance to a piece of flesh!

Having said that, you've missed a bit. Who had been calling him on his phone, even whilst he was at the burial??
This person called more than once - and from the tone of the story, he was needed back home URGENTLY.
so because he was called automatically means he must be involved? haba - which security agency do you work for? roflamo!!! somebody else might have called the husband - how are you so certain it was the psycho that called? you can only work with facts and not conjectures. there's no way a man would know his kids are in danger and he would still stay at a meaningless burial to eat pounded yam n egusi......it defies logic!
If that truly were the case, then why the urgency on his part to get back home asap?
you mean they should have neglected the kids and party overnight? grin cheesy
^^ Not in this case.
Somehow, I think this man was very much involved with the lady in question. She was pregnant afterall - for him.
how did you know this?
was it confirmed she was pregnant or you are hanging on the coattails of "it was gathered....."?

Also this bit tell me this man knew exactly what was going on:

“...We had stayed barely one hour at the burial ceremony when my husband said we should go home. But before we left, my husband’s phone rang and I heard him say, ‘I’m in a burial’. So, as we got close to our home, his phone rang again and he told the caller that we were not back yet. I didn’t ask him who the caller was as we rode straight to the house. “When we got to the elderly neighbour’s house, we were told that she had gone for prayers and that my children were not seen there. We got to the house and I opened the gate from behind believing that the children were inside the house. As we parked our motorcycle inside the compound, my husband pointed to the underground tank that was open...."

Mind you, there was no-one else in that compound apart from the girlfriend and the kids...
that bit should not tell you anything.....
the man was just vigilant to know that the underground tank was open - like the woman confirmed, they don't leave the tank open. there's no way a man would have his girlfriend murder 4 of his own children. what would motivate such evil? had the psychopath escaped after the deed then one can understand - she waited for the parents to return, she wanted to be caught!!! so tell me - why would the husband participate in something that would easily lead his crusty arsë to jail? i don't believe the man had a hand in the murder of the kids......he's just unfortunate to have been involved with a psychopath!

Would she have done what she did, if there was no involvement from the man? None whatsoever??
yes - i have read several incidents like that.
kola boof recently was stalking djimon hounsou. a nigerian woman from peckham stalked rio ferdinand for years till police took action. ferdinand never had any involvement with her. some women are just crazy........and you cannot justify this action because she had dealings with the husband. what if this affair was long before the man married?

You can't ignore the fact that the man is just as guilty as his girlfriend - moreso as he enabled the situation. Obviously, if he hadn't wandered out looking for heaven knows what, his kids would have been alive today.
how's he guilty?
did the man take part in the strangulation of 4 children? a female psychopath felt the only way to be in the life of a man is by getting rid of his family and you are blaming the man. if the man is as guilty as you claim, he would have easily walked out of his marriage to start another union with miss nutcase!

Ujujoan: 1. Give her at least 2 hrs advance time. E.g if the meeting is for 2, tell her it's 12.
2. Get ready yourself, go outside and start the Car . . . keep it running. It'll give her the impression that you are about to leave her and make her hurry up.
3. Help he with things. E.g . . pick out her clothes, help her get the baby ready (if you have one), help her do some chores while she dresses. Some men just wake up and get dressed while wifey runs around the house trying to get everything and herself ready on time.
4. Try telling her calmly how her attitude annoys you.

I honestly don't know why people make it a habit f being late. I'm a woman myself and (not to boast) I always get ready on time. Most times I get ready before my hubby cos I wake up earlier knowing I have the baby to get ready as well!

I think it all boils down to discipline . . . undecided

pro01: Same applies to Nollywood in general, not just the Yoruba genre. Yet, most of the 'hardworking' females among them still manage to denge pose with "N11 Million SUV", or "multi million Naira mansion in Lekki". Life is full of mysteries, isn't it?
on point......
i have always wondered how the female actresses always seem to have a glamorous lifestyle and their male counterparts seem to be broke. a friend told me majority of those female actresses are whöres for the senators and politicians in abuja - and that is the primary purpose in the first place - a medium to showcase themselves to the willing politicians ready to spend the top dollar on them.

the females - you would always see them posing beside bison whips, huge houses and always celebrating lavish-style parties while you hardly ever hear anything going on with the male actors. it is no surprise that tonto dikeh or cossy behaves the way they do. they are only advertising their wares for the top dogs. if the motivation to be a nollywood actress is whöring then may God help that industry.....

that's the job of a defensive midfielder, my dear.
what you guys see as slowing the game down is called keeping possession and controlling the game. if your opponents don't have the ball, they are powerless. mikel obi gave a world class performance - that is his best performance yet in a nigerian shirt.

the british commentators here kept lauding his maturity, incisive passes and panache throughout the game. he was by far the best player on the pitch. he does not slow the game down - he controls it! mikel is the nigerian equivalent of carrick or busquets of barcelona. you need players like that to provide balance in the team.

If he had passed that ball and whoever he passed it to kicked it over the net, you guys would have been saying "why didn't he play it himself?". The truth is that he was well placed to take the shot. Unfortunately, he mis-kicked. That football for you.
you don't understand the dynamics of football - if he had passed the ball to a better placed player then no one would blame him. that's simply a football brain as the defenders wouldn't have expected him to pass...it would have caught them by surprise!

Afam4eva: You don't throw that kind of pass for a defence line that was not bulging. The Burninabes stood a better chance of using that tactics because they caught the Nigerian defense unawares on several occasions.
how did we score the only goal in the game?
their defence was rubbish and they couldn't cope with those long balls......the game plan was simple but keshi took the wrong tools to perform a simple task. you need a premier league striker to work with a premier league deep lying playmaker. this is how we do it in the premier league against a stubborn defence.....

any player who goes on a mazy run trying to dribble everyone by himself is bereft of football brain. football has gone past that - only messi and ronaldo are allowed to do such - not misfits like uche. where does he think he is? owerri or langtang? i like how the other striker berated him for wasting that chance. just pass the ball and let someone more better placed put the ball into the net. football is 80% common sense and 20% skills!

Afam4eva: Just see the kind of idiotic goals that they score in the premiership. See how porous the defence line is. Why won't they score. We were not lucky to get that kind of space from the burkina defence. They're not father Christmas.
that's a smart counterattack.....
that was the kind of ball mikel was delivering all day and there was no odemwingie or moses to latch on to them and finish aplomb! the game was crying for a premier league striker and not a la liga misfit. we don't have a xavi/iniesta look alike in the team so why play uche?
Sports › Re: Player Rating: Nigeria Vs Burkina Faso by coogar:

which idiotic la liga?
did the ball drop from heaven or someone from the premier league blessed with a good range of passes delivered it(ball to feet). stephen keshi is a troglodyte. a premier league deep-lying midfielder needs a premier league striker to feed off those delivery. la liga is about tiki-taka. they romance the ball before knowing where the net is.

uche played like a zombie...
he had one good chance when he cut in but wanted the glory himself. a premier league striker would have passed the ball to a teammate the moment he got into the box. martins, odemwingie and moses should have led the line today......

bigheart2013: Hmmm! You can imagine if Martin Luther king (Jr) didn't champion the non-violent fight for civil rights, blacks would not be voting in USA today, Obama would not have been elected President. It took more than 50yrs for some people to realize he was right, and they were wrong.
that was in the dark age.......we are in the 21st century.
you cannot force polygamy on the menfolk because women can't find husbands.....

Sometimes I wonder why we have so many churches, mosques and religious people in Nigeria yet we have set world record on every immoral thing. The reason is bc we try to wish away our problems. After the genocide in Rwanda that nearly wiped their male population away, and left many young women as widows with no means to feed their kids, President Paul Kagame, on national TV begged men who can afford it, to take in the young widows as wives bc the govt couldn't afford to take care of them. Some men heeded that plea. Otherwise all those widows would have turned lovepeddlers and home wreckers. Any surprise that Rwanda is one of the fastest growing African economies (not because of that) but because they proffer feasible and practical solutions to their problems.
but there was no civil war that wiped half of the nigerian male population away. the women are simply punching above their weights with the kind of men they want. tall dark and handsome with loads of cash are what they are after. when a man less-favoured comes their way, they simply turn him down that he's not man enough! there are millions of single men in nigeria too who want to be married but the ladies are aiming higher because of the poverty in the land.

If you are happily married, you may not appreciate what a 43yrs old women who can't find a husband but wants to be a mother is going through. Let's not pretend that some of them are mistresses to so many married men...that a wife doesn't see it doesn't mean it's not going on.
she can find a husband - i don't buy such excuse that a woman cannot find a husband. the only problem is most nigerian single women want the men in the upper echelon. so you have 70-85% of the single nigerian women running after 2% of the nigerian men who meet their high standard and most men won't marry more than one - so why won't you see 45-yr old women wasting away?
