It all depends on the architecture of the processor, it's Cache and speed. For instance, are you looking to get an Intel at 2.3 GHZ or AMD with 4 cores at 3.0 GHZ and so on? In this current era, I strongly advise you opt for the Intel i Core (i3, i5, or i7) model for top performance.

I was on my own "jejely" trying to buy kebab, popularly known as "suya" in Nigeria, and thinking of how best to spice my dinner, when one young man just breezed in from nowhere and with a peculiar accent, uttered "Why does you let my heart broke like this" . I turned to the person that shot me at the back with missiles of words and found him well dressed and obviously talking to his girlfriend or "toastee". He also stopped by for kebab.

I thought I had heard it all but he shot another missile by saying "Sweet-sweet, talked to me naa. What has I done wrong?"

I couldn't get angry, neither could I laugh. In fact, I reflected deeply on the situation and tried to absolve him from blame. I placed the blame on his teachers (assuming he is educated), as well as the bad educational standards in Nigeria.

Later on, I started thinking and came to the realisation that almost all Nigerian men, whether educated or not, woo girls in "Queens English". It is rare to see a Nigerian man woo a lady in Pidgin or in any of the local languages. This is true, at least, in my experience and based on what I have observed so far. Although I must acknowledge that there are a few exceptions. So my question then is this: what is actually wrong in wooing a lady in the language you are most comfortable with, especially those who speak English only as a second language?

I couldn't come up with a clear answer because even in cities, towns and villages where everyone speaks the same language, you observe this trend as well. So there is no justification on the grounds of communication. What then could be the reason behind this recourse to English when wooing ladies? Is it just a standard? If it is, who started it? Why do those who are not competent in the English language try to force themselves to speak it when wooing ladies? Even ladies that are not competent in English force themselves to speak it, just to appear modern and acceptable. What happened to our native Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Urhobo/Isoko, Pidgin, Efik, etc, when communicating with those of the opposite gender that we develop romantic proclivities for?

I need some responses to further enlighten me on this issue. Let us all discuss.

I'm not sure if the OP is simply playing devil's advocate or just very unintelligent (My apologies though). I mean, the OP first made a comment about an individuals accent, then went on to indicate the grammatical error made by the same individual and finally asks the question, why do men woo ladies using English? Doesn't make much sense at all.

In a country of over 170 million people from different regions, tribes and ethnicity, anyone still asking why one person speaks English to another person must be brain dead. How is a Yoruba man suppose to communicate with a Hausa woman? In Igbo? What is the big deal or problem if two Nigerians decide to talk in English? A language which happens to be our official language by the way.

What if the guy and the lady in question are both from different ethnicity? Did you (OP) consider this before coming on here to post such pointless topic?

Speaking English doesn't make you or anyone more civilized, modern or more intelligent than another individual, it's just for form of verbal communication. There's absolutely no need to be intimidated (OP).

First of all africa has had a lot of great cities and kingdoms. Even within Nigeria we had the sokoto caliphate and the benin kingdom which by any definition of the word will be defined as great.


A question also arises as to why we're not as developed as others even before the white men camebut the answer is simple. Its the weather, tropical countries (People in this region sleep more and are more susceptible to diseases, hence lower innovation and productivity) tend to be poorer than the less temperate countries in the world and theres a strong correlation between this factors. Some tropical countries have managed to progress later on but this is because they had good institutions to work with. There are emerging countries today like kenya and ethiopia but what fuels these countries is simple, strong institutions powered by the eductaion of the masses. Education is key, no race is inferior to another intellectually, environmental and social factors determine this. I think this preacher may be a subscriber to eugenics or is just ignorant like most of the people commenting here.

We constantly keep making the wrong choices even though the right one stares us in the face everyday. We do everything half arsed and constantly seek the short cut route. In 2016, an oil producing nation cannot generate constant electricity for even 3 straight days while a nation like Latvia can, with absolutely no oil. Are we so unintelligent to see there's a problem with this?

If you have read up to this point and you are Nigerian or African, I kindly ask you, is this how you want to live your life? Is this the life you desire for your children? Do you still think we as a people don't have a fundamental problem? No matter the answer, one thing is certain, wrong is wrong and right is right.

A Language is nothing more than a means of communication. I really don't know why Africans are so emotional, you all have finally derailed this thread, however, I will indulge you. Going by your weird sense of logic, poor infrastructural development, poor road networks, a failing economy, and poor education are to be blamed on having English as an official language? Don't ever compare English with any native Nigerian language because it is far advanced and more developed than ours, not because it's a language of the Englishman or should I say, the white man but because it was developed by the native speakers, in all areas of society. Now tell me, what areas in Economics, Politics, science and technology can our native languages be used for?

These are just a few examples, but keep in mind, they are way developed than we are. Now let's mention countries which speak their native languages as the official mode of communication. Somalia, Tanzania, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Philippines, Myanmar, Oman, e.t.c. Why aren't they developed with a prospering economy? The answer is simple, the language you speak does not determine or guarantee your intellectual ability or a nation's development in any areas of civilization. A nation can only move forward and develop itself if it's citizens are committed, patriotic and have the right mindset to prosper.

Yes! In most cases, it can't be fixed, and even if it does, it will fail again. Am sorry but at this point, it's best you buy a new one, "Seagate" to be precise. The sounds you hear are from the magnetic tape inside, trying to spin and read properly. Remember to always keep your Hard drive in a hard disk enclosure, this protects it from dust and other environmental elements. Am sorry I couldn't offer much assistance.

unfortunately, that's not the case. In fact, the mentioned ''Ogas at the top" are the politicians of the states in the Niger Delta region. It is impossible, I mean, absolutely impossible for a state government allocation to be shared by or with another different state. It's like saying Lagos state politicians are embezzling government funds from say Rivers state, that's impossible. Tinubu has nothing to do with the problems of the Niger Delta, no need blaming others for the problems of the Niger Delta. It is the same state governor who loot's from his state before then sharing with his so-called 'God father's'',so why blame others?

If the state governor's do what they are supposed to do for their state's, we will not be having this argument in the first place. The pipeline vandals, state government crook's and all corrupt officials in the Niger Delta are from the Niger Delta.

in situations like this, two things are involved. The Hard drive is either damaged or it's connector (USB or SATA) is faulty, your computer can simply not detect it anymore. Please try testing the mentioned Hard drive on another computer or Laptop and let me know if you observe any changes. Also, I need to know the manufacturer of your hard disk drive.

What happens to the funds after that is not the concern of the Federal Government, if the leaders choose to pocket it and toss out 200 Naira notes at masses for re-election and other miscellaneous activities, then so be it. If the Niger Delta people can't fight for their right in their own region, what makes you think things will get better when they separate? I always hear people say Nigerians who travel abroad always come back with a fake accent, even if its only one month they spend in London or America. Is this true? Do Nigerians try to speak like foreigners?

What i think is that the biggest problem you face the minute you step into obodo oyinbo apart from the cold is your accent. Our accent is so thick foreigners cant make out head or tail what we are trying to say. So from immigration right to your next door neigbour, you struggle to communicate- nobody hears's your type of English. Our slow drawl is a big problem, not just to Americans or british but even to arabs and asians.

The quickest way to be heard is trying to speak like these people (americans or Brits) who cant hear you. Asians and arabs ahve grown up watching american movies and mingling with the Brits, so their ( Brits or American) type of accent is hearable and hence universal-much like the dollar is the globally accepted currency everywhere. So for you to be heard, you a naija boy or girl just stepping into America must speak like them.

Over time, if you stay there long enough, you start speaking like these people and substitute your Naija accent for theirs. Some people manage to retain their naiaja accent and use that when home only to switch to their americana accent when they go back.

There is something fundamentally wrong with being Nigerian. A back man now has to apologize for speaking or trying to speak proper English? How does speaking proper English (Pseudo American, British or even plain old good English) make a black man less than a European or higher than an African? What most people don't understand yet is that people who nag about inferiority complex are actually those who suffer from it. After all, if you feel intimidated by someone who sounds more intelligent than you, then you are in fact inferior.

Thing is, most folks on here insulting the so called "fake accent Nigerians" will be the first to switch accent at the port of entry of any foreign Airport, yes! I've seen it over and over again. Most will speak proper English in the presence of Europeans (or anyone of a lighter skin tone) and then switch to improper English when talking with other Nigerians, does that make sense to anyone on here?

The reason Nigerians have an accent is because of the language interference, and it's okay, there's nothing wrong with it and there's nothing wrong with trying to speak good English. For heaven's sake, English is not our native language, no shame in having an accent or trying to improve on it, no man should ever be apologetic for trying to develop himself. Nigerians spend hard currency just to take the IELTS, TOFEL and other such exams, simply because we fail to speak proper English, then after getting a great score in these exams, we still go back to speaking improper English? Does that make any sense?

This is the difference between Europeans and Africans. Africans think of Now (what can i gain now), that is, the present, while his European counterpart thinks of the future. This is definitely a software issue then. What is the model of your Network card? You will have to update the drivers for your WiFi card from the manufacturer's website, restart your OS and it should be working fine. Make sure the WiFi is turned on when updating the drivers.

Permanently off? There should be a hotkey on you keyboard which can turn it back on, you hold down the Fn (function key) and press the WiFi hotkey and that's it. Could you please elaborate more on why the WiFi isn't working, that is, what happened?

Damn!!! Now that I need my system like no other thing, its giving me issues... Mumu system" the thing went off again.. Got home and started again for where? E no grEe.. I went to look for new power pack, for where? Where u wan c am buy on a Sunday in pH... I no go ogbunabali sha.. I carried the system drag the keyboard nack am nack am.. Finaly called my engr... I day bring my note for u tomorow make u buy am for scrap, just gimme my memory. Please consider buying a new charger for your Notebook, that should cost less than 5000 naira i think, not sure how things cost over there. Another thing to consider also is the battery, might wanna change that also. Change both and am sure the Notebook will be as good as new.

The problem you described will occur again at some point until the screen finally blacks out. There is a problem with the flex of your laptop. Inside the flex is a cable connector which connects the motherboard to the screen, and this cable transmits information from your motherboard and displays it on the screen. I recommend you take your Laptop to a service man and have the cable changed to a new one, it won't cost much.

All things been equal, Niger delta area should have been competing with Dubai in development today.

The Niger-Delta gets 18% or more of the oil revenue, and that translates into billions of Dollars yearly (past and present). What does the Niger-Delta have to show for all those earnings? Where did all the money go to? No development, no proper infrastruture , education lower than ever, illegal refineries , workers paid late e.t.c.

Would 100% resource control make any difference? Well I guess we all know the answer to that.
