TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by cookies: 12:22pm On Jul 12, 2018
Went for my follow up interview today with my hubby at Abuja consular office, see transcript below:

VO: good morning, passports please
WE: good morning, gave her the passports
VO: after flipping through, asked hubby the last time you went to the US how long did you stay?
Hubby: about 10days
VO: you stated that you're going for vacation?
Me: yes and to have my baby too
VO: have you ever traveled abroad with the kids?
Hubby: not in a while but my wife often does
VO: are you pregnant ma'am?
Me: yes I am
VO: do you have any other kids?
WE: nope
VO: how old are the kids
WE: 8 & 5years old
VO: (to me) what do you do for work?
Me: xxxxxxxx
VO: types briefly then asks why did you choose the US to have your baby?
Me: because my last pregnancy wasn't a pleasant experience, I had a threatened miscarriage & since this would be my last baby I decided to choose the US in order to access better hospital & medical facilities while I can afford it
VO: types again then asks how much is the delivery going to cost you?
Me: about 5 thousand USD
VO: that's incredibly low for childbirth in the US
Me: well I've got a doctor & hospital correspondence that has details of the costs breakdown, would you like to have a look?
VO: declines & insists that delivery in the US costs about 25-35 thousand USD
WE: emphasise that we can afford that as well
V0: well then how much in total will this trip cost you?
Me: about 14k USD
VO: (to hubby), how much do you earn?
Hubby: xx xx xx xx, then passes statements of account 1naira the other USD
VO: looks through briefly, then asked me Ma'am you stated that you would stay for 1 month?
Me: yes
VO: will you be going with the kids to the US this time?
WE: nope
VO: well, I will be issuing you visas today, however on no account should you accept any insurance or medicaid bla bla bla & make sure you pay all your bills, long story followed that sounded more like warnings sha..... didn't hear the rest.

She didn't even say congratulations! Lol

Thanks for all your contributions...

Hello everyone, I applied to renew my visa via Dropbox and got a 221g form for a follow up interview fortunately for me I was in the US last month and managed to get both hospital and doctor's email correspondence from West Houston Medical Centre but my concern now is on the Hospital email correspondence I put my friend's US address as my US contact while on my DS160 form I wrote that I don't have any contact in the US and this is because I lodge in a hotel whenever I visit and only used my friend's contact for the hospital because it will somehow still get to me rather than a temporary hotel address please note: I have never stayed with this friend before so I'm just wondering if my friend's US address reflecting on the hospital email correspondence would be a red flag during my follow up interview or not? Please share your thoughts

Please which address can you give on the DS160/B2 form for "a contact in the US" for someone who doesn't know anyone at all?

Hello Fam! Please has anyone used Dotores Para Ti in El Paso, Texas to birth their baby? Would you recommend?

Pretty sorry, the game has badly changed, annoyingly too. Hopefully you are able to get round this soon....

Yes. Thanks a lot.

@cookies...OmoBendel has said it all....just thought i might suggest another option that is similar.....maybe do Dropbox for your husband and 2 kids but for yourself waive the Dropbox option and just attend an interview. I'm suggesting it because some mamas after applying for Dropbox were called for interviews and these interviews cannot be expedited unlike the regular interviews.
Thanks a lot. Quite clearer and more straightforward.

OmoBendel24:
You hardly have done @the bolded, really. Your narration isn't peculiar, the thread is replete with similar cases....

Change of intent letter after Dropbox when you were already pregnant before doing the Dropbox? Issorai!

Your pregnancy is yet young if I got you right, why not just do things right? Pick the B2 option when filling your DS160, pick an option that points in the direction of "I want to birth in the US" as you move along filling the form, and apply for Dropbox. Gather and perfect your burden of proof in preparation for a call up to a follow-up interview just in case. Regards
Thank you for your response.
If I understand you well you said I should go on with the Dropbox while filling the DS160 B2 option and submit it alongside then wait to be called for interview? And yes I'm due this November? Please bear in mind that I'd be renewing together with hubby & my 2 kids. Thanks

Do you need a Schengen visa to fly Air France?
You don't need a Schengen visa if you're only transiting through France.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by cookies: 2:43am On Apr 04, 2018
Hello fam! Mine's a bit complicated though I've read through the entire thread but wish to state my specific situation for more clarity.

I & my family were issued US tourists visas in 2016 that are due to expire this October and we're planning to use them this month before Dropbox. But the issue is I just discovered I'm a few weeks pregnant please note: this wasn't planned at all. However, we've decided to keep it & have baby in the States which I'm due in November.
Please what is the safest option for my situation? My plan is to return to Nigeria this April & do a Dropbox in may and email the embassy a 'letter of change of intent'
Please throw more light and suggestions.... Sorry for the long epistle.
Thanks

Please anyone with info on very affordable accommodation within Brampton Ontario area? I need to gather this information before starting to make travel plans as I don't know anyone in Canada and really would like to also use Dr Ayodele. I'm due in November so I still have small time for these arrangements.

It was standard, didn't pay for priority.

Jedidiah77:
Hello @cookies, Please did you pay for priority? It took too long to get to UKVI but was promptly attended to. Was it standard or priority please? Thank you.

Mine is also a visitor visa renewal though. Biometrics was done at Abuja collection center on June 20, received at Sheffield July 3rd, then I tracked it today on the home office website and noticed it was decided since July 6 and I have just received an email from TLScontact as well. That's a total of 12 working days.

xto4:
hello did you just checked it now? Where did you submitted your application? I submitted mine at vi since on the 6th of June and yet haven't hear from them now is 24 working days now and is a visitor visa application
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by cookies: 1:02pm On Jul 10, 2017
My application finally showed "Decided" on the home office website however yet to be updated on TLScontact website. I will go to the collection center in 48hours to pick up our passports. Fortunately for me, my travel date is next week. Thank you all for your support. The wait is indeed not easy. Hopefully everyone gets their passports back before their travel dates. Cheers!

Please what date did you apply?

sammoR:
Good morning Ekpotek and all our travel gurus. I need your advice. My application reads decided, it was decided 6th July, however tls is yet to update the details and i haven't gotten any e-mail. The issue is I am supposed to travel this weekend for my graduation holding next Monday. Flights not booked and I am running out of time. What would you advice? Do I go to the tos contact center or wait? In ur experience, how much time does it take to get the passport from when it's decided? Thanks
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by cookies: 8:03am On Jul 08, 2017
I submitted my application on June 20, I also noticed mine and our two kids were separated from my husband's as I got emails from Sheffield regarding mine & the kids then my husband received he's separately. I filled the online application myself and nominated my email address for all communications from them so I'm wondering too.

dcutey:
I want to thank everyone that helped in a way or another in my family's UK visa application, you're all far too kind.

I submitted the application for my child, my wife and me on the 6th June 2017 through the new application site and we went for the appointment on 14th June 2017 at Ikeja. My child and my wife have been given six month visas which I collected yesterday though mine was not ready then.

I just received a mail from TLS contact this evening that my passport is ready for collection which I would collect on Monday. We all received all these mails others on this thread received. In fact, our applications was processed in Sheffield, UK.

I just wonder why they separated my application from my child's and wife's applications.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by cookies: 7:09am On Jul 06, 2017
I will suggest that in your next UK visa application, if the kids are in school you can also get a letter from the school stating that they are students there and are permitted to go on a vacation with their parents to return to their studies at a certain date. Note that this will be more effective if the school is on vacation.

Austine2020:
Ok, i will do just that. We have 2 kids who have always travel with her during vacations to Germany and US,But because this one is a church conference and her first UK application,We then decided to use my kids and me as strong home ties,But they still refused her. She will reapply next year insha Allahu.

Hi, please what Uk site is that other than TLScontact that I can track my visitor visa?

Aatiikoo:
Yours should be Settlement VISA, mine is Visitor VISA.
I tracked it again this evening on the UK website and it has been decided but yet to be updated on TLS contact website.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by cookies: 10:11pm On Jul 03, 2017
I was able to track my application when I created a profile on TLScontact website, it's one of the options on the left, once you click on it you'd see your ref number, click on that & see the current stage of your application.

Arinzona4oxide:
I applied on the 7th of june 2017.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by cookies: 10:26am On Jul 03, 2017
When did you apply?

Arinzona4oxide:
Good morning all,Being trying to check my application status with my GWF Number and the response i'm getting is reference number not recognised. is there any other reference number used to check the status apart from the GWF no? My conference starts on the 5th and haven't had anything from the UKVI...this delay is becoming something else.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by cookies: 1:59pm On Jun 30, 2017
Thanks for your response. I don't quite understand the bolded part.

ekpotek:
Each aplicant and application is decided based on its own merit. The fact that the ECO did not take into account your staying beyong your intended stay will depend on the number of extra days spent and if it is significant enough to be considered as abused of visa term. However, this does not means that everyone will be lucky like you. Beside your immigration and travel history and family ties seems okay for the ECO to overlook this abuse. My advise is that applicants should adhere to the term of their visa approval on their first visit.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by cookies: 8:40am On Jun 30, 2017
How about me that have been to the Uk 5 times on a visit visa (with husband & kids) and 1year study visa. During those visits I always stay beyond the duration I normally state during my application, but never overstayed the duration of the visa itself, I have also renewed in the past & got new visas despite this, I just applied for a renewal on June 20. I hope my chances of getting it are high?
Please guys, kindly share your thoughts...

ekpotek:
Did she include the return ticket showing she intend to spend 68 days in her first application where she got the visa? Information of confirmed flight itinerary of applicants after visa approval is not within the purview of UKBA. What they know is the date you enter and depart from the U.K. which they check if it's in consonant with your visa application request. If it deviate substantially it will be a refusal during visa renewal unless you can provide convincing reasons for the overstay.

Guys, please what's the process of reevaluating Ielts test results? LRWS 8, 5.5, 7.5, 6.5 test taken 8th April. I'm not happy with these. Reading which was the easiest for me during the test turned out to be my lowest score. Any suggestions?

@Dammiehar You are here now? Welcome cheesy

Please go with Faky.201's suggestion. MSc alone is sufficient, dont waste time and money on securing your BSc transcript from OOU. IRCC requires ECA mainly for your highest qualification.

Besides, I heard IQAS evaluates UK qualifications faster,so their default 15 working days processing time may not apply to you. Even my Nigerian MBA was done in just 9 working days.

I can see you entering the pool shortly. Have you written IELTS?
Some people are so lucky with IQAS my school in UK sent them my master's transcript since 3rd April & I haven't even got an email to say my file is in line for processing faxed them last week & they said they're experiencing heavy workload. Na wa o!

its is okay as long as the period when you were self employed is indicated in the Personal history section and the dates jives with when you were married. I guess you are in a safe place. IMO
Will I need to include further details/evidence to show that I was self employed before marriage?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by cookies: 8:21am On Apr 15, 2017
House please, as at 2009 I was self employed when I got married & that's what is stated on my marriage certificate, but from 2011-2015 I was employed & that's the past experience that I got a reference letter to use as part of my documents for this application. Is this okay or a problem?

For the listening part - In a scenario where you have the missing word/answer in-between a sentence, I will advise you use small case letters except it is a name though...then you can use upper case. Imagine having all upper case in-between a sentence....that's a bit off.

*I stand to be corrected*
Thanks
