I have some questions regarding Canada study permit.

I was given admission for a diploma programme and currently waiting for my passport to be issued before I begin visa application. I deferred to January as I was to resume in October.

I would like to know the cost of visa application for adult and children.

Also, when will one do medicals. Is it after visa approval or what?

Abeg, we will get a new birth certificate.

My son's real date of birth is 7/8/19 but 1/8/19 was captured on the passport.

We will let this pass for now as money is needed for other things

Sorry about this. It can only be corrected at their HQtrs in Abuja.

It would have been better you did do it yourself and took your time to fill it right than gave it to your plug who messed it up and still got paid.

You will spend more to correct it than you earlier spent.

Or you do an affidavit and adopt the new DOB for him.

He said I was to look at it before they send to production. What he meant by that, I do not know. We gave all correct credentials: birth certificate, NIN slip. My son is 3years old.

Any implication as regards this of it's not corrected? I'm thinking of doing a new birth certificate so it can tally with what is on the passport.

Finally got our international passport. Started the process 24th June in NIS, Yenagoa office. It came out August 7th. The person who helped us processed it waybilled to us in Asaba.

The challenge now is that the date of birth for my son isn't correct. Instead of August 7th, 2019, they erroneously typed August 1st 2019.

Please, what do you advise we do?

NIMC App is not reliable. I did name modification in April ( to my husband's name), I even used it for my passport which is out already but on NIMC app, the name hasn't changed yet. Go to their office, you will see that the name has been changed already when they track it.

If its modifications you did just forget the app. Even if you delete and reinstall the app. The best bet is to verify at any nin centre?

I just checked NIMC using their app and noticed my surname hasn't been changed yet. How long does modification take? Did mine since 15th of May or thereabout.

I did for my one month old baby. Thank God the enrollment woman has PATIENCE. She was the one helping me. If you see as I was sweating eh cos I carried him. E no easy!

DIY is the best but these people down here will still take their #40,000 when you come for collection or they keep posting you.

Your location is a great factor to doing the right thing. Imagine you doing the right thing by paying #17,500 and one person just sits in the office to frustrate your effort when you go for capturing and collection. If only the servicom unit was active things wouldn't be this way.

Smiles, warrior 1st son. Anyways the think often is blame on the part of the immigration officers. I take NIN as an example, on a. Normal it should be FREE! like I can remember vividly very well when I did my NIN in 2015 only to be hearing that it now cost #2000 -#4000 and in some instances you are stressed on top of your cash paid (depending on the location(as I've heard). Peeps often use agents for shortcuts and perhaps to serve stress but often times duped. No doubt the DIY is cool but we need to becareful of fraudulent peeps.

The worst that will happen is that you will have to make multiple trips but you wont spend that amount. You will meet a different person if you will stand for the right thing. The prices you stated are DIY prices on NIS website but my location BAD.

The wwoman no gree jare. I had to go through her sister. She said if not for her sister, it would have been #45,000 for adults and #40,000 for the children.

If you DIY, they will frustrate you when you go for capturing or collection and you may end up paying extra #40,000 for each passport.

If not for the distance, we would have come to Abj but we will end up spending more: feeding, accommodation, etc. And we will come twice; capturing and collection.

So I called two people today concerning this passport of a thing. Got their contacts from Facebook as they were recommended by friends.

Asaba woman said adults is #40,000 and passport will be out in two months cos no booklets while that of children is #32,000.

Called another immigration officer in Yenagoa and he said adults is #35000 and that of children is #32,000. Passport will be out in a month and some weeks.


Those of us in Delta State are stuck cos if you DIY, those guys will frustrate you and you end up paying extra #40,000.

Asaba is extremely corrupted... 6 months later they hold the passport claiming no booklet. You will have to pay to get that passport. ... same with benin .

It's a shame really. Those two I know for a fact don't do DYI except you don't mind waiting for months

Collection date: October 18 (today)

Well, it took me 3 months to get this booklet. I was called to pickup the passport last Monday, but I couldn’t make it. As at today, only those that captured in July are expected to come for collection in Warri office.

Is there no way to drag these people? No monitoring whatsoever? It's annoying that after DIY, you still have to sort people at the office. It's absurd
