FamilyRe: Traditional Marriage In The Village, Is It Compulsory? by COOLDUN: 10:53pm On Sep 19, 2013
unmask: what the eff is it with traditional marriages and even burials........

What is the use of traditional marriage anyways....get a judge and get married for the women its better, that way your husband won't throw you out at a whim.....customs my foot.....

Is the dowry and all the others going to your God in heaven? Isn't it going to one god or the other.....

Only God can bless your union whether you do 1million trads, it won't matter

so if the lady says she doesn't want to go to the village, what happens the papa refuses to give her out in marriage?......I trust the gal nah she knows her stock is drying out fast, so when she sees a mugu willing to waste his life by getting married she won't want to let go

life na jeje o......u can't serve God and serve mammon.....

Jesus' blood has deleted all those from our lives

shikena
Traditional marriage is not all about MONEY, neither is it fetish, many men collect no dowry nowadays from their son in-laws, this is all about giving the girl finally out to her husband in the presence of the villagers and kinsmen, blessing the couples in the family where she was born/her father's house, whether it is a mud house or edifice.

I have attended a traditional marriage in a village where the villagers only served their native food Abacha and palm wine, the man that was marrying the girl is never rich, the villagers according to their laws and tradition contributed many items for the couples ranging from food stuffs, planting seeds, furniture, kitchen equipments and even some cash for the new couple to start a life.

All the money the guests sprayed them when they were dancing was given to the couples, a man in the village who is very rich gave their son in law a plot of land for building anytime he wants, and told him to sell it if he wishes. Many of us cried like baby that day. Now the couples are doing perfectly well with the gifts they got from their traditional marriage.

Many people come online to comment trash on what they know nothing about. Calling it traditional marriage never makes it fetish, many communities like mine has made it easier nowadays for the couples to do the traditional marriage and white wedding the same day in a way to cut down the expenses.

Traditional marriage is never a must that the couple must spend all their money, it is cut your coat according to your size. Foolish people call it fetish because it is called a traditional marriage and celebrated in the village, but forgot that the Christmas day they are celebrating on the 25th December every year is not the actual date. No one knows whether it is a day of Mammon or other gods. I hate when people claim to be saints while they are more than devil itself.

Any woman i want to marry, who insists that our traditional marriage should be in the township have lost me as a husband. I would be glad to let my wife's kinsmen to know that their daughter is being married by a man, no matter the distance and security challenges. I will give them what i have and no one will force me to do what i can't. Marriage things never finish as my father told me.

Good people take their marriages home, while fake people rush theirs outside their villages. Traditional marriage is never a fetish/devilish. Only the people who dodge their villages are fetish/devilish.

I can do the traditional any where I want. In my dictionary, safety first! Am very uncomfortable with security men with guns posing as a body guards for such occasion, the main thing is the church wedding.

Tradition ko, tradition ni....
As long as my present famile came for my wedding..I couldn't careless about fvck tradition. tongue
There are two people you may represent if you are an Igbo, one is OSU and the other one is UME, if you are not from either of these two outcasts, then your family is EFULEFU. It is only people from these two outcasts that rush their marriages outside their villages. And Online.

For the girl in question, i don't blame her for choosing to marry in the township. I lived most of my life in Yoruba towns, then i discovered that the main Yorubas don't marry from Kwara because they see them as Yoruba OUTCAST. So their mother knows why she married their father and why she is preaching hatred to their minds towards their kinsmen.

I am a full born Igbo man, never an OSU nor UME, i am advising the husband to be of this girl in question to ask deeply of the origin of this girl before you marry a wife that will make your kinsmen to outlaw you, if really you are an Igbo man. Unless you are the same cast with her, because they say that the birds of same feathers flock together.

My fellow real Igbo men/women, The Igbu bu Igbos, please think twice when a girl/man rushes you to do your marriage in the township, be careful so that you will not buy Taiwan goods in the name of American goods. Just an advice.

No reasonable fellow would ever dump her/his kinsmen all in the name of security reason; there is no country with 100% security free. Not all that glitters is gold o, this Igbo girl with Kwara mother is so doubtful to me. I will never marry OSU/UME even if i am POPE FRANCIS. My parents are never OSU/UME, and i will never make that mistake. Religion apart.

We all know our roots. Thank you all. if you married online, then expect your corpse to be buried online too.Nonesesense

Don't mind the confused fellow, Igwebuike where he/she is not seen as a full citizen of the country. What do you need powerfulness for? While many small/ weak countries are progressing and developing, we are stagnant claiming the Giant/Dwarf of Africa. Many SE people are really confused of their futures in this world.
PoliticsRe: FG Plans To Ban Importation Of Vehicles by COOLDUN: 6:25pm On Sep 17, 2013
Ban, Ban, Ban, bla, bla, bla, no country bans what they don't produce, even the United States who manufacture many brands of cars never banned imported cars.

Consider how many people that are employed at the car importers’ companies, consider how many cars the local car companies produce in a year. Consider their brands.

All the European countries produce locally made cars but still import cars from other countries at affordable prices. I don't know where our governments borrow their ideologies. How many local cars manufacturing companies have the government empowered? How many government owned local car manufacturing companies?

Sometimes i agree with the people that call the president a drunk. GEJ , should face the products which we can produce locally, increase their production capacities, fund the producers adequately , before looking for another advanced products. Nigeria still need many years before we should talk of fully ban on an imported cars, unless he want to punish the importers as his political father OBJ did during his tenure.

India have many local car producing companies, eg Tata, and other ones, still they import both new and used cars from other countries. New cars are cheaper in India than Nigeria, but still they do import , now Nigeria that doesn't even produce a wheelbarrow are talking of banning imported cars. Joke of the century.

This government is really and confused one, improving of the railway links has nothing to do with the importation of cars. Even the countries with best rail networks still import cars from outside.

GEJ, your government should first of all ban the importation of refined Fuel, Private Jets, Education, imported economical/political ideologies, religions, importation of foreign treatments, military hardware. Etc.

With these mentioned items being produced locally, Nigeria economy will shoot up within few weeks. Look at the most reasonable items and stop behaving like an anti masses president.

I support the patronization of the local companies but not the monopolized companies, like Dangote and co. Let us patronize the products we can produce locally and not otherwise.

prem love: Since you know everything you would have won the world cup for us bck then. enemy of progress
Your type is the main reason why this country will never exceed its present status; you always attack the messengers instead of heeding to the messages. What has he said wrong? That made you to label him as an enemy of progress. I know you are a kid, including the morons that clicked like to your spewed trash. If you guys are not kids, you would have known that this man you called an enemy of progress contributed a lot to raise our national team's status both in African and the world, during his time as the Assistant/Technical Adviser of the SE.

He was the main actor of the 1994 Nations Cup/ USA World cup successful Super Eagles, as an assistant to Clemence Westerhorf, he took over fully and won the highest honor in the game of football for Africa/Nigeria in 1996 in Football Gold, in the Atlanta Olympic games the first of its kind in the history of world football. Few years 2000 he took the SE to the Nations Cup final and lost to the Cameroun through penalty shoot out, before the Arabic/Islamic scholars turned football administrators booted him out.

If he is an enemy of progress i don't think he would have won all those laurels for Nigeria, then Nigeria was rated 5/6 , respected and feared by every country in the world in football, but since he left, where are we today? 40s and 30s in FIFA rating, dragging positions with Cape Verde, Cambodia, India, and Mongolia in the FIFA rating.

What he gave S Keshi is an elderly colleague’s advise, it is left for him to heed to it or not. If he succeeds through his advices today, kudos would be for S.Keshi, if he fails the blaming would also go to him. The best teacher is a best learner also. Nigerians should know how to use some words. Calling this man an enemy of progress is a sign of being an ingrate.

Stephen Keshi, if you are reading this comments, i would sincerely advice you as one of your great admirers/supporters and lovers, to heed and learn from this noble advise from this great man, Jo Bonfere, you played under him as a player, and worked under him as a coach, he will never mislead you.

You are a great coach and God will help you to succeed, I was that guy that approached you one day in 2005 at Kege stadium in Togo, as Nigerian foreign based player on vacation, the day before the Epervie ( HAWKS) were to play with Senegal. When you said we should meet after the match at hotel Sarakawa in Lome Togo, though it’s been so long, i am just reminding you. God will increase your victory and efforts with great success in Jesus’ name .Amen.

Nairaland BIGOTS i hail you guys, the name Chima have waken all of you from your slumbers, if his name was otherwise now , you would have heard that he is not from your tribe but a British or American mistakenly born by ADEBOLOJA family. Hahahahahahaha. One Nigeria indeed.

What he did is not good, and would never be supported by any reasonable fellow, but he should be heard out and know why he took such disastrous action. The one Nigeria champions have started vomiting their BIGOTIC Venoms because he is called Chima.

Even Jesus Christ can never heal Nigeria's Tribalistic hatred, we are just wasting our time . The hatred has made it difficult to reason well. It is left for Ivorian government to handle the matter the way they know better. Those hailing Fashiola for deporting even his own Yoruba people to Onitsha should know that he is not the president of RCI

Nigerians, let us condemn evil when it is done by anyone irrespective of the tribe, religion and status. What he did is very wrong. I do advise the federal government to go deep into the matter to know why he took such action, so that it could stop such action in future.

Injustice is the highest cause of anarchy, and destructions. Before he should be killed and be sent back to ARO for being, Mr. Chima the concern authorities should look into his claims. It might be you, it might be me, or anyone related to you and I next time. Thank you all.

Who will see a Christmas party and chose a village meeting gathering? W.F.Kumuyi knows why he is drawing his head out of this nonsense. His ministry is about to be ridiculed, as a smart man he put a reverse gear immediately.

Very good and well noted, hope another doctor will not come online later to tell us how harmful these mentioned foods are, because the world is filled with confused medical ideologies and warnings nowadays.

Many foods are dropped today because of complicated warnings, eg Egg when you are above 30 or so. Now is this post advising the people over 30s to be eating eggs every morning for their breakfasts?

The world is being made less enjoyable by everyday complicating warnings by the health experts. Please let the people be. Something must kill a man.

damilola5019: E go surprise una say na draw dem go play una if dem come
Don't mind them, if they know the history of African football, they would know that this kind of incident happened in 1984 African Nations Cup in Ivory Coast when Malawi played a mind game in this form and suprised all the African countries that year.

It took the mercies of God and a hard work from Clement Temile to save Nigeria by equalizing the 2 goals when Malawi Flames scored the then Green Eagles 2 early goals and almost defeated Nigeria who was the runners up in that tournamment. We forget so fast.

Football goes by history, every country/team learns the past encounters to face the opponent in the future. Nigeria should focus on their training and prepare more than their previous matches. If we would not like the repeatation of the 1977 match with Tunisia when we needed only a goaless draw to qualify for the 1978 Argentina world cup , but lost by an own goal from Godwin Odiye. Malawi is never a push over team in Africa. Pride goes before a fall.
You need not to bark in your incompetency. Your types are out there suffering from what they knew nothing about.
I've said it in this platform severally that-there are educated illiterates in our system and it requires intelligent to figure out my assertion.
My questions to you as poor Nigerian are as follow:
. Are you comfortable with the situation of things in the nation?
. Do you know what good governance is all about
. do you know your right as a citizen
. what are the basics responsibility of sensible government
. Do you have a graduate in your family still looking for job after graduating for the past 15 years
. does anyone from your family died of minor accident that ought to have been treated by the hospital if quickly access.
. Do you know the odious effect of poor state of our electricity in our economy.
. Lastly, for over 12 years of PDP in Nigeria - what impact have you got, and going by the day by day stealing and quantum of borrowing without commensurate effect on our system? should we now use this as set standard?
If you have not tried another person on a particular position there’s no way you can have transparent judgment on performance, in addition it would give a room for effective benchmarking.
4years of another party can be accepted for a try nor PDP.
Do you want to call 12 years of PDP as test running?
My dear you are very intelligent, your analyzing skills is amazing keep it up. I was a supporter and voted for the PDP from 1999 but i will be the last idioot to do so again. No one would like to see his child of 12yrs at the same stature.

Our Igbo people say in our proverb that if a woman marries two husbands, then she will know that one that really loves her nost. You cannot judge someone without trying him or her first. The APC members might be ex devils but i will give them a trial, as long as my vote remains my right, i will judiciously use it this time around.

We are good in complaining but very bad in taking action. Hence all of us are afraid of death, then the best thing is vote wisely in the next election, because ones bitten twice shy.

It is only a mad fellow that would be repeating one thing and would be expecting different results. When you criticize Pastors people will tell you not to judge, for you shall be judged, but when you criticize the APC members no one would caution you.

Many countries tried by voting in the opposition parties into power and things changed for good in their countries, e.g. Ghana, so why can't we try it as well? We claim to be the most civilized black nation but the wisdom and courage we don't have. Let the APC present a good candidate and let us give them a trial. If we could hopelessly wait for 16 yrs for the PDP , why can't we do such for only 4yrs to the opposition party? I am not a member of any party, but a legitimate voter's card carrier. Thank you all.
Christianity EtcRe: Shame On Pastors Who Live In Opulence While Church Members Are Broke!! by COOLDUN: 2:15am On Aug 22, 2013
gratiaeo: FALLACY OF SEED SOWING (2 TIMOTHY 3: 6, 4:3-4) We are in the heart of the last days and the prophecies of the scripture are being fulfilled in our very own eyes, daily. Today if you turn to virtually every corner of the city, you see a church or ministry as they are called now. Frankly, most believers in Christ misconstrue the meaning of church, ministry and denomination. That is a message for another time though. The Scripture says in 2 Timothy 3: 6-7, “For this sort are they which creep into houses, and led away captive silly women laden with sins, led away with diverse lusts, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” In 2 Timothy 4: 3-4 it says, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lust shall they heap to themselves teachers with itching ears; “And they shall be turned unto fables.” In Micah 2: 11, the Scripture says, “If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying I will prophesy unto thee of wine and strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.” This scriptural verse agrees with 2 Timothy 4:3-4, all that most ‘followers of Christ’ want in these last days, are self- edifying sermons, not necessarily what God wants them to do. The reigning message is no longer, ‘seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you,’ but sow seed in the church or ministry and whatever you want shall be added unto you, in the preacher’s declared measures. I think every believer with the spirit of discernment ought to know where this heretic doctrine comes from. Most Christians are very deficient and lazy in searching the scripture to listen to what God wants them to understand about His purpose for their lives, but run to places where all manner of teachings and doctrines are taught. We prefer to follow the easy way where multitudes are found while neglecting the caution that says ‘the path that leads destruction is broad and narrow is the way and strait is the gate that leads to eternal life’. The first time I heard of the sowing of seed was when I came to Jos newly. On 9th September 2001, the Sunday after the Friday 7th September 2001 Jos North ethno-religious crisis, I went to a church in Kufang. After the sermon, the pastor of the church said that there was need for us to pray so that we will have a peaceful week, which was good. But what troubled me was, when he asked who will sow seed of three thousand naira (N3000.00), two thousand naira (N2000.00) and one thousand (N1000.00) and so forth. I was wondering when the Lord has changed his principle of answering prayers by grace, to answering prayers by sowing of seeds. I was invited to a program in a church some few years back at FDA Road Dadin Kowa Jos; a pastor from a different church was invited to preach. He preached wonderfully about the last days and the maneuvers of Satan to destroy the church, but after the sermon he said that those who would want to escape the snares of the devil should sow seed of two thousand naira (N2000.00) to be prayed for. And if they didn’t have the cash on them at the moment, they should make pledges. Those pastors are cunning with words and intimidate their congregation into sowing seeds; otherwise, their prayers will not be answered. In fact that same pastor gave a testimony, where he said in his church the Lord told them to bring plastic chair each, but a lady refused. So one day when she was preparing for her wedding, he met her and reminded her about the chair, but she didn’t take heed. On her way to the village he said, a car lost control and drove straight to where she sat in a bus, and hit it hard and she died. According to him, she died because she refused to bring a plastic chair to his church, by implication, it can be said that she went to hell because she refused to bring a plastic chair to a church. Candidly, only Satan can do that and not Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible. When has God dropped faith to embrace material things as a condition for inheriting his promises? His word says, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him.” (Hebrews 11: 6). In James 1: 5-6 it is written, “If any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and up braideth not; and it shall be given him. “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with wind and tossed.” When Peter met the lame man at the Gate called Beautiful, the man did not sow seed before Christ healed him through Peter, but his faith. The woman with the issue of blood was not healed by Christ because she sowed seed, but her faith. I can go on and on. The people that believe such pastors don’t have the spirit of God. The spirit of God is not the author of confusion, and is full of knowledge and wisdom. I want those that sow seeds for prayers by their pastors to tell me, the prayers they do before eating their food, their morning devotion, before embarking on a journey and so on, to whom do they sow seeds to? Are they not the prayers of faith? If you believe that praying at night before going to bed will move God to protect your family, why would you believe that sowing seed is prerequisite for God to answer your prayers on other issues?. What is it that you have that has not been given to you by God? And what will you give to God to bless you and how much do you worth to buy His blessings? He said, “The Heaven is my throne and the earth my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? And where is my place of rest? “For all these things had mine hand made, and all those things have been saidth the LORD: but to this will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit and trembleth at my word.” Isaiah 66: 1-2. To prove further that God is more interested in our hearts, Jesus Christ said that if you bring your offering to the alter, and remember that someone has something against you, leave your gift at the alter and go and reconcile first. With these how can someone tell you that it is the seed, and you believe? Apostle Paul through the spirit of God said, “Let us come with boldness unto the throne of grace to obtain help in time of need.” In Hebrews 4: 16 Jesus said, “He that comes to me in no wise will I cast him away.” Why is it that you cannot go to the throne of grace with boldness so much that you have to sow seed for someone to pray on your behalf? Is there fire at the throne of grace? Has God cast you away? Why fall prey to these Sooth Sayers that pose as servants of God? Christ said, “Come unto me ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest, do you exclude yourself from this call? Matthew 11: 28. Christ wants you to come to him directly, he is not a terrorist. How many seeds did you sow, that made God sent Him to die for you and I? If his death was free, where did God say you must sow seeds for Him to hear your prayers? God cannot be bribed. God spoke through the Psalmist saying, “I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he-goats out of thy folds. For every beast of the forest are mine and the cattle upon thousand hills. “I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof. Will I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats? “Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the Most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Psalm 50: 9-15 Brothers and sisters God wants us to ask in faith and not sow seed for our prayers to be answered. Christ paid the supreme sacrifice; all that He wants from us is to reach out to Him in faith.
Thank you very much my dear for saying the real truth, OP, I thank you too for this wonderful thread, do not mind the people who are accusing you of judging the prodperity pastors, while also judging you by their questions/words.

Church does never give a salvation , neither does it solve any problem, only Jesus through your faithful prayers can save. The blessings of God is never for sale, but divinly free. God bless those who live in the truth. And have mercy on the sinners IJN. Amen.

While trying to beg him for money, family of 5 with monthly 12,000 salary, only that day he was beaten and robbed off 20,000. times 20,000 into 30 days and give us the answer.

You want us to believe that he got the gun from an armed robber, if it was MASSOB now, you wouldn't have seen the comment as a tribal issue,Mr Hypo-. Yoruba OPC armed first time killer , killed a Yoruba Alhaji. Do your worst.

We should be calling a spade a spade when a matter like this arises, than painting other tribes black, because of stupid hatred. Crime is very bad and it is committed by every tribe, and every place.Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, crime is bad.

My good people, I greet you all and thank you all for your wonderful comments concerning this latest Nollywood award winning movie.

You have said it all my people , but please permit me to say my mind towards this MORE CATHOLIC THAN POPE attitudes of Nigerians nowadays. Where people are trying to compare themselves to Jesus Christ who bible made us to know that he died and rose up again in three days, yes I believe it even without witnessing it as a Christian and child of God which I am. I can see clearly that our Nigerian doctors are failing us today by not challenging all these fake dead and rose up again saints in our societies today.

I wonder how someone would be proclaimed dead by doctors and after many days in the Icy mortuary he/she would rise again and be bold to tell us that he/she knew that he/she was dead, can anyone tell exactly the time he/she slept last night? No one, But in Nigeria a dead man would tell us how he/she died and all the burial arrangements, and how many of his/her dead mortuary inmates, he/she would recount all what happened from the minute he/she was assumed dead, tell us how the heaven and hell fire look like, the people he/she saw there but will never give their names. I wonder what they are afraid of, by refusing to mention the names of the prominent men and women they saw in Hell fire. They would never tell you how many Nigerians they met in Heaven; does it mean that there is no Nigerian in Heaven?

To cap my comment, I am very ready to bet anyone that no Nigerian will ever visit Heaven and come back to the country again no matter the message and persuasions from the heavenly authorities . No one will ever see where the chieftaincy title ceremony is going on, and decide to attend where they are doing oracle sacrifice. And no Nigerian will ever reach to the Hell fire gate without being dragged in as a guest of honour. Nigerians pray and fast daily to make Heaven,a Nigerian luckily got there and returned back to Nigeria, for what reason? Message from God right? so the ones which the living pastors, prophets, prophetess and priests are giving are false/fake then? Nonsense.

People should stop ridiculing the dead and resurrection of my lord and personal savior, because he is the only living that died and resurrected without the help of any man. Only him is the Way, Truth, and Life. This prophet any day he gets up from his sleeping bed should be invited by the EFCC, he is a big time fraudster, not only chasing around the internet browsers in the cyber cafes. This is a day light scam.

Thank you all. I don’t want him to die o, I want him to stand and face the law. His living and dead will never add nor remove sugar from my KOKO.

10k U
You still have not made any reasonable point, sometimes people do not know that they present some reasonable things unreasonably. From your comment you made it look like all the young and poor guys made themselves like that, or are comfortable with it. No one is happy to be poor or lazy let me tell you.

You forgot to understand that 99% of poor youths in Nigeria today is purposely made by the people at the head of affairs in Nigeria. Take our young graduates for an instance, some wasted many of their youthful years to get a good education, graduated, finished their youth services, only to come out and face unemployment. Leaders of tomorrow assurances during our schooling days is now seen as fable story told by our teachers. Many years of ASUU strikes interrupted education, with many years of unemployment can make a hard working man looks like a fool and futureless slowpoke, thereby qualifying him as a poor woman chaser you quoted in your post.

I don’t agree with you that no money no romance or anything you called it, I will only agree with you on the caption of no money no flitting, because love is not supposed to be shared , so also is not supposed to be bought with money. You can marry your wife with only love, but you can marry your knife with wealth. There is difference between a WIFE and a KNIFE.

Someone said a genuine hustling, what is a genuine hustling for goodness sake? Running after the politicians? Being a thug? Or, what?

This kind of your words is one of the reasons why we are seeing over night billionaires in our society today. Because no one is ready to follow the right channel as long as it will make him to be rich and accepted in the society, The rulers and politicians are recycling themselves, while waiting for their yet unborn generations to grow and take over from where they stopped, while the youth you want be Bill Gates before they could be loved by lazy girls are roaming the streets with their certificates.

I don’t agree with you on this one, though it is your personal opinion, but it is very harmful to the society. Poor and not yet made it guys are free to love and be loved, but not to flirt around. Thank you.

berem: You just contradicted your post. First of all, he's an average player who doesn't deserve all the noise, secondly, Umudioka people lost a light that would have helped developed their community. What the fucck are you spewing? huh
Don't mind him, describing Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji as an average player shows that he/she was a kid or novice in the history of Nigeria football. Many people just jump into this thread to comment on the matters they know nothing about.

From the first the time Sam was schooling at Eziachi High School Orlu, he was a kid football wizard popularly known then as WASKI PELE, my senior sister who was a member of the famous female Imo state handball team then the GRASHOPPERS of Imo state used to tell us about this great player during their Imo state schools sports competition, i was opportune to watch him on that day he died, he was spotting the No 6 jersey, when he came out last from the National stadium underground tunnel, the whole stadium roared in his praises.

From his first international match for Nigeria against the Algerian desert Warriors in Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium Enugu, he became the most admired Nigerian player then. He was a utility player, a match winner and skilful player. Real professional who knows what to do, without being told.

So i advise this fellow who described Sam Okwaraji as an average player to stop commenting on what he/she doesn't know. The death of Sam Okwaraji brought a very big relief to the Cameroonians who was to be our next opponent then, because the three players the Cameroonians fear much in Nigeria team then were, Sam Okwaraji, Peter Rufai and Henry Nwosu.

Sam Okwaraji still remains one of the most talented and gifted players Nigeria had ever produced.

This particular match sam was all over the field. Immediately he fell down someone sitting beside me said that guy might die ,we all shouted at him that he was talking rubbish and that he was stupid .later on network news it was announced that sam was no more .very very very sad.
