babyosisi: No I am not happy
But the environment in the SW is ripe for radicalism
There are articles on street children in Ibadan, most are Muslims
The same polygamous environment that produced almajiris in the north has produced tons of homeless touts in the SW
And these are the easily radicalized by the right imam
The events are just unfolding in our eyes
In 2006,I remember someone writing here that Nigeria could never blow themselves up
That we loved life too much
Has that not been proven to be wrong?

The problem is not Yoruba,it is Islam
And wherever it is found,it has the potential to be violent because of the beliefs within that system
I can't even stand here and say an Igbo Muslim convert could never do this, they can, with the right teachings

There is a youtube clip with two Muslims Yoruba men,2 college professors, one is also a chief imam in a university in the SW
It is scary to watch, there is no difference between their mindset and that of Osama bin Ladin
Thank you i watched that clip too, i saw how the two skinny SW muslims were attacking the ill equipped Yoruba lawyer in the clip, they never allowed him to say a word. They claimed that Nigeria is not a secular state, thereby claiming that Nigeria is an islamic country. They were even ready to behead the lawyer had it been he defeated them in the argument. The moderator was also bias by allowing them much time than the ill equipped Yoruba Lawyer. You are current my dear. Can you repost that link please i lost it from my draft.

Lord Mecuzy: Beer Parlour News
Yes because a certain people are implicated it had become beer parlor news, Federal government should invade the mentioned town with immediate effect so that this will no longer be beer parlor news. Anyone that harbors, welcome and deal with a criminal is also a criminal.

They will say it is their business but forgot to know that Doctors do also report criminals to the security agents, why so much demand for the bullet proof from one section of people? And you fail to suspect them for crimes.

I want to hear from the BIGOTS who always jump up from their slums whenever there is bad news about other tribe, where are they now? This is how their people are representing the country positively as the best tribal ambassadors.

Crime is bad and it should be condemned by everybody irrespective of your tribe, religion and party. Nigeria is fast becoming a nation of terrorists. What is his name once again?

DJDOLA: Some nigerian are crazy walahi....if u can not support ur brother who else will support him....I believe if yaya toure is not better than mikel is people will support him no matter what....abi if yaya toure is nigeria and mikel is from ivory coast I trust nigeria they will vote for mikel
My dear that is what i am seeing here also, i know that there is no time everybody will like a person, but from the anger and tones i have witnessed from some people who are opposing Mikel’s selection in this nairaland , i come to know that some are because of personal hatred, bigotry, and jealousy.

We should not quarrel over someone's opinion because we feel that is doesn’t suit ours, this forum is like a classroom, where 40 students should represent 40 different essays/views, it is only science subjects that has one formula, any essay/composition should be different individual opinions, there is no point commenting on someone's comment with insults, this English language is a borrowed language which no one except the English people is perfect in it. As long as Nigeria is concerned the only single general communication language is English, which is a colonial language all of us studied in school through education which is an acquired knowledge while wisdom is pure natural.

The most important thing is the ability to pass your message and points across, but on nairaland some people see it as an avenue to show off their academically superiority and i know more than all mentality . while we all make the same mistakes, some of them even communicate in a short hand form of writing which is never recognized by any English institution.

The country is greatly divided in these lines : Tribal, Religion, Political Party, Football Clubs, Have Much, and Have None, i have read so many furious comments from people and looked deeply to see that these aforementioned groups are where their anger and arguments were derived from.

There is no way this country can be brought together with the kind of people we have in the country nowadays. Football which is the only the unifying factor in the country is fast failing, i wonder what else that will unite this country again. When someone is not from your Tribe, Religion, Party, Football Club, Class, whatever he/she does is never accepted. When you go to other countries you will see them speaking with one voice, as the Gabonese would proudly tell you in their French language, ''Les Gabonese Avant Touts'', meaning the Gabonese before all. But in Nigeria a foreigner is more preferred to our own people.

Nigerians are the enemies of themselves, there is no unity in division, people say that there is strength is diversity, but Nigeria is an opposite of this word. Thank you for your sensible observation once again.

Mourinho is failing because under Benitez style the players finally left Mourinho's style of play. only for them to resume it again. Why do u think he is benching mata alot and brought back Terry who didnt get 1st team play time under Benitez.

Katsumoto: Sagamite,

I just want to agree with something Cooldun stated. There is heavy politics in CAF.

The North Africans bond together and the Francophone countries vote in bloc as well. The Anglophone countries on the other hand are not united. Also, the Francophone countries are led and controlled by Hayatou. Cameroun won the 1988 and 2000 AFCON because of Hayatou. The same sort of politics is present in UEFA and FIFA.
My dear brother, that guy is high on something go through all his comments and there you will see how useless he is. I am not commenting for people like him. He is always high on something.
SportsRe: Is Mikel Good For African Footballer Of The Year Award? by COOLDUN: 3:11pm On Sep 28, 2013
Katsumoto: How strategic was Kanu to Arsenal when he won the award in 1999? He had just moved from Inter where he had scored 1 goal in 3 years (12 games).

How strategic was Mboma to Parma in 2000 when he won. He scored only 5 goals and played only 24 games (meaning he wasn't a regular)

Diouf won it twice based on what he did for Senegal and not what he did for Lens.

What about Hadji who scored only two goals for Deportivo in 1998. Most of his appearances were as subs.

Most of these guys won it based on what they did for their countries rather than what they did for club.

If I go back in time, there are even more examples of guys who won it while not playing for their clubs. Mikel has been a regular at a big European club for 7 years. And recently, he led the Eagles to winning the African trophy.

No one is more deserving.
My dear you really know football, from your comment every football historian would know that you are a veteran. Don’t mind the yesterday arrogant and uncultured brats who derive joy from insulting people online instead of arguing constructively. Goal keepers like Thomas Nkono of Cameroun(1979-Thomas Nkono (Cameroon and Canon Yaounde) and Badou Zaki of Morocco (1986-Badou Zaki (Morocco and Real Mallorca/ESP) won this award based on their performances in their clubs and national teams respectively as Mikel is doing rightnow. How good was F.Kanoute when he won it? He helped his club Sevilla FC to win Euefa Cup and his national team Mali to qualify for the AFCON.

I am a Man U fan for life, I am not Mikel fan, I am only a man who has been following this award since it inception and know how the winners are selected, sometime merited players don’t win it because of politics in the CAF management. When F. Kanoute won it Drogba left the place with annoyance and many people protested and criticized CAF for it but nothing was done. JJ Okocha lost it when it was clear that he was in the best position to win then, nothing happened. Politics and luck are involved sometimes.

I love your factual and constructive comment, keep it up my dear. When we see educated people we know not street touts that graduated in the mere glorified nursery schools they call university nowadays.

Sagamite: What kinds of fucktards are these ffs?

Why is it that products of a failed education system's explanation and solution to everything is "Us vs Them", evident by unsubstantiated conjectures of conspiracy?

Cretin, when Nigeria was winning AFoY rampantly in the 90s was it a Charlie Powell and Ricky Charlton that were running CAF? Hayatou then did not want everything to go to "their people" (THEM, the frequent basis of illiterate fucktards)? According to person products of a failed education system: Once someone that is not "one of us" is in charge, "they" are conspiring to put "us" at a disadvantage. "They" hate "us"!!!

To you happiness and satisfaction is if "one of us" wins? As long as he comes from a country colonised by the British? grin

So did Mikel win the European Champions league, African Nations Cup, English Premier League, FA Cup, Carling/Capital One and Europa Cup in 2012-2013 season or one year? Or in your moronic understanding, you did not realise AFoY is offered based on your season/year?
Big FOOOOL, let me put you clear even though I know that you recently escaped from the psychiatric hospital and went back to your smoking habit. Issa Hayatou and his Francophone is not singular they represent different nouns that was why I used plural word (are) so the bolded statement was beyond your comprehension as an educated illiterate you are. You exposed your STUPIDITY more online while trying to correct someone who is more educated and informed than you.

I personally don't care about who wins it but i only want it to be worn on merit and not otherwise. Mikel stands better than other shortlisted players. Take it or leave it. Only matured and truthful football followers know what i am saying and not a SIMPLETON like you.

To your myopic. Shallow minded, and dullard reasoning of the bases of winning of the APOY Award, both your past and present performances and achievements are considered, the roles you played in the past and present in your club and national teams boosts your chance of winning APOY Award.

I know you are still a kid who thinks that you have grown up by daily smoking weed and drugs, while you have not yet stopped wearing pampers, how would you see the politics in the CAF since Issa Hayatou became the CAF president, I know you are too myopic/blind to see it because you know nothing in the football politics, there is no point wasting my time with a novice like you because you will never learn, you think that watching football in the viewing centers and making noise makes you a football expert.

What do you know about football and its politics? When did you start watching football? All these street boys on nairaland forum who always jump into conversations with insults nowadays, you have no good family upbringing, if at all you have parents, I know they are worse than you, because a snake will always give birth to a snake. My comment was meant for people who are matured enough and know football and its politics and not a NONENTITY like you and your entire generation.

May I ask you this question as an educated professor how many books have you written? Can you give me the name of any of your books? so that I can look for them and know how good you are.

My advice to you is this: Please go back to your psychiatric hospital and continue with your treatment, if you were discharged by your doctor please go back and demand for the refund of your payment, sue the doctor and the hospital if they fail to refund your money ok.

And please look for another better hospital. And don’t fail to STOP SMOKING GUFU/DRUGS ok. They are very harmful to your brain ok. You have a title from today. CAF newly introduced the BEST LUNATIC OF THE YEAR AWARD, I am very glad to announce to you that you are the first winner of this award. Big Congratulation Mr. JUNKY.
SportsRe: Is Mikel Good For African Footballer Of The Year Award? by COOLDUN: 3:12am On Sep 28, 2013
There many factors which CAF uses to determine the winner of the African best player award. All these are picked from your achievements in your team, national team.

I am not a fan to Mikel but I believe that he has achieved 95% of them, from winning the European Champions league, African Nations Cup, English Premier League, FA Cup, Carling/Capital One, Europa Cup, most of us don’t know the politics that is being played by the Issa Hayatou and his Francophone countries in the CAF headquarter in Cairo, they always want everything to go to their people, Yaya Toure is scoring goals while Mikel is defending goals for Chelsea too. This time around I think that Mikel deserve the Title, scoring goals or nothing.

When Thomas Nkono of Cameroon won it he was a goal keeper, how many goals did he score then? Nigerians please value what you have.
YES! So idiots accusing Islam of terrorism will know that Islam is peace and true.

Nice one Abdul Hajji cool
This news will change nothing because he rescued people that were being attacked by his own people, there were many other religion brave guys who took part in the rescue operation, why is his own special?

This is a way of telling people that muslims also rescued people, why was the attack in the first place? this is to calm the nerves of the Angry Kenyans who are boiling to take revenge on the Somalians in their country because of senseless killings.

He tried in participating in the rescue operation yes, but singling only him out for praises is for a purpose, why not stop these senseless killings in the name of religion than embarking on a rescue mission?

There is no STUPI D person calling islam a religion of terrorism but the moslems themselves, when your terrorists embark on a mission they would single out the people from other religions and kill them, while leaving you muslims to go free, then who are the terrorists then? Because if they are not the same why then are they allowing you guys to go unharmed?

They even recite verses from your quran to justify their actions, even telling people that you people are not the real muslims. You can convince a blind man that there is oil in the soup but not salt ok. muslims are not terrorists , but terrorists are muslims what is the difference?

Until you all and your Imams and well placed muslims openly caution the terrorists, then i personally will believe that islam is the not the origin/breeder of terrorism.

This man tried but it will never change the people's believe about the islamic religion, no matter how you polish a bad product it will never be marketable. islam should prove itself as a religion of peace first and not be sold to people by propaganda like this news.

angel TI: My question is why would she come to Nigeria after her evil acts? She is white and british abeg.
Thank you very much for your question, I have read many comments defending Nigeria police today because the world press has implicated them on this sad incident. These patriotic Nigerians complaining on nairaland forum now are the same people who call the Nigeria police so many nasty names everyday for being the most corrupt institution in the world, but today they are united in defense of the police they are calling for their heads every day. Very good this is the answer to the proverb that says that he who exposes his sister’s secret/weak points publicly should not blame anyone if his sister fails to get married, because he contributed to it.

Nigerians you contributed to the regards and insults your police is getting nowadays with your lousiness, so stop your hypocritical solidarity today, because the damage has been done already.

For this news I personally do not doubt it, because in Nigeria almost everything is possible mostly when money is involved. In every nonsense there is always sense. We should not wave this news away like that, the Nigeria police has been implicated so it is left for them to defend themselves and prove their innocence.

Let me come to your good question now, I will begin with the names of the notorious beasts that ran to Nigeria and shielded by the government of Nigeria without considering their past atrocities they committed against their people and humanity.

1: Late Mohamed Siad Barre former president of Somalia the beast that personally put the Somalia in its present situation ran to Nigeria 1991 and was accepted and shielded by IBB government, he lived and died in Nigeria, 2: Yomie Johnson Liberian rebel leader who killed Samuel Kanyoe Doe of Liberia ran to Nigeria and was accepted by IBB, 3: Late Idi Amin Dada the Ugandan cannibal came to Nigeria but because of what people did then, the heat was too much for the government to keep him for more days, he was asked to leave, 4: Charles Taylor of Liberia was in Nigeria under OBJ protection until the heat from the US and UK was too much for the Nigerian co monster OBJ, he handed him over to the world court in the Hague:5: Jean.B. Aristid of Haiti was in Nigeria:6 : Malam Matasine a Cameroonian islamc terrorist was in Nigeria shielded by the northern oligarchy,7: Hassan Habre the Chadian Pinochet was in Nigeria before he ran to Cameroun and later Senegal . 8: Abubakar Shekau a Niger Republic Islamic terrorist is currently in Nigeria killing innocent Nigerians while he is shielded by the Kanuri/northern oligarchy. Many deadly people see Nigeria as a heaven for the beasts and that is why they always run to Nigeria whenever the heat is too much for them. I don’t doubt that this beast woman has been or even still in Nigeria rightnow, because what she represents now is highly welcomed at one section of the country.

All hands should be on deck to fish out this Islamic converted bitch before she will strike in Nigeria because of our porous security and weakness. Prevention is far better than cure Nigerians .

Good news, are they tired of SHARIA LAW? They never see anything when you allow your brothers, sons, and husbands to be used as SUICIDE BOMBERS by the Kanuri Boko Haram leaders, other ones are in Afganistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, training for Jihad, and how to kill the innocent people.

You can never eat your cake and have it, when you allow your future to be ruined forgetting that yesterday is unrealizable , you have not seen anything the earlier you stop your men from dyeing foolishly the better for you women, otherwise very soon you will be getting married to the Donkeys, Horses, and Camels, I hope you know what these animals carry under their laps ?

Advice your men, to desist from killing themselves for nothing, or remain single for the rest of your lives. Thank you all.
IslamRe: Secrets Of A Muslim Woman by COOLDUN: 6:20pm On Sep 26, 2013
Why is it that muslims will never end any of their discussions without mentioning Christians? Now they are warning not to mention any religion but they started it first. To me no man ever preached the respect to women than what God said before creating Eve to be wife to Adam.

I read where she wrote how the Arabs were treating their women before muhamed came into existence. She even wrote that the female children were being buried alive because they were seen as burden to the Arabs, to me I will ask these questions, how were the Arabs multiplied if they were burying their female children alive? Secondly is there any good thing that ever came of from the Arabs?

The instruction of treating women well was given in the Bible by God, and was followed by good men who really love their mothers, sisters, and wives. I have watched how women were blown up for offences they were supposed to be pardoned for. Where is that love and respect that was preached and ordered by muhamed? Many women are forced to marry against their wishes, is it also preached by muhamed? Brothers, fathers kill their sister/daughter because of a little disobediences which is supposed to be corrected, is it a respect to women also? What is honor killing doing in one section of the world/religion? This lady was able to write this comment because she is educated, what about the other women who were denied education for just a baseless reasoning? What I know is that muhamed was not a world leader as this woman wrote but a founder of Islamic religion.

Women have their respects from the beginning as directed by God and heeded by the good men who truly loved their wives, sisters and mothers, even today, and not by covering of faces or hiding in the houses against their wishes.

I personally like, respect and adore women greatly as God made us to love ourselves. Dressing does never make anyone a saint. Reckless dressing is never good to both the dressers and the public no matter how we pretend. Let us love ourselves and stop hatred and senseless killings, not an outward dressing and pretence love and respect of women. Thank you all.

I was being sacarstic, but since you want to go there...

A mall filled with mixed shoppers of different religous background.. The mall gets attacked by Terrorists.. Muslims are selected and allowed to leave, Christians are selected and shot dead.. Jesus was in Heaven chilling and watching his 'Disciples|Children|Followers|sheep|or whatever other fancy name you Christians tag yourselves with.. being shot dead. And he did nothing. I didnt see Jesus with a Gun breaching the Mall, I didnt see a miracle either of dead christians coming back to life, I didnt see any of those fancy protection the bible promises Christians.. YET you can come into this thread to talk of religion and Jesus!!

When your Christian God kills off Sodom & Gomorrah, The Egyptian first borns (that provided his almost starving to death Children of Isreal shelter and food during a famine), killed off the original inhabitants of Isreal (the promised Land), the people of Jericho, e.t.c... You people were cool o! You even still read those passages today in your assemblies and count it as credit to God. But 1 or 2 Pigfucking terrorists (who just so happens to be of the Islamic fate) shoots up a mall, you Christians will be quick to call Allah & his Prophet Mohammed (SAW) names..

Hypocrisy is part of what is destroying us as humans.. ALL RELIGIONS ARE EQUALLY BAD!! Whilst you people are pointing fingers at Al-Shabaab, the National Liberation Front of Tripura are still killing people in the name of Christ... Do you also remember Anders Behring Breivik the Christian crusader that killed 77 people in the name of Christ?! Injuring 150+ people as well?! AND not forgeting the Klu Klux Klan.. Those people have killed more Niggas & Jews for Jesus than Al-Shabaab can ever kill for Islam..

My guy abeg take back seat, wear selt belt there.. angry

This thread is not to be tainted by religion.. The Muslims of Kenya and others around the world have strongly condemned the mall shooting. Leave it at that.

Islam is as much a religion of Peace & Christianity is a religion of peace. angry
If you are with your senses to say that terrorists acted on their own and doesn’t represent any religion, you would have asked yourself why the muslims were separated from other people and were freed to leave the mall alive while other people were killed. But hence you reason with your testicles there is no point arguing with you.

I can see that you are too intelligent to know everything about religion; you have to keep your useless knowledge to yourself.

By next time you will be among the victims and that your believe and knowledge will come and deliver you as the muslims were delivered by their Islamic terrorists brothers/sisters. Then I will see how you will come here to run your mouth again.

princess chloe: why not get your facts before commenting. That church is not in any way a new church. it is over a 100years old, with the headquarters in Oregon. Apostolic Faith church is not after anybody's money. people who know that can attest to it. I dont expect everyone to believe this message afterall, the kingdom will prove itself soon. #peace#
I don't care when your church was founded, all i care is the misleading and blasphemy story you and your member wrote here, i am very happy that Christianity was founded on the platform of Peace, Love and Forgiveness, if not so, people like you and your co fanatics would have been deadlier than Boko Haram, Al Qaeda and other deadly Islamic terrorists.

You wake up every day telling people what to do and not, what to eat and not, what to wear and not, what to watch and not, where to go and not. How to sleep and not. I am happy that Jesus Christ warned us in the Holy Bible of people like you . Wolves in Sheep clothes.

I am still advising the children of God to read the true words of God in their Holy Bibles before they would be mislead. Everything God wants us to do or not is in the Bible, and not from the sick dreamers and fake prophets/prophetess. If you can't be changed by the true words of God in the Bible, no amount of man's words will ever change you.

You and your partners should stop disturbing the peace in this world and allow the children of God to concentrate in the truthful word of God. Check the history of that your church and tell us if no other church have broken out from it since it was formed , if yes then why?

All of you should know that the time many people were brainwashed is gone, because many are educated now and are able to read and write, unlike before.

Personally i saw many lies from what your church member wrote in this her new published book on the nairaland forum. From the date till now, at least you yourself know what has happened. Stop creating fake news online to attract new customers.
Christianity EtcRe: Let All The Saints Get Ready For The Rapture by COOLDUN:
Wow i have seen the best way to get the email id of the nairaland members, almost all the members of this forum have given out their email addresses for the copies of this good story. The most annoying part of it is that majority of these copy chasers are the ones who write to insult people who are up to the ages of their parents, but today they have become saints because they heard about rapture.

This fellow who published a whole book on the nairaland forgot to know that Bible made us to know that the dead have no conscience of what is happening until the final day. She was looking for an American based husband because she wanted to travel to overseas, while she was called by Jesus to work for him.

I don't doubt anyone but don't believe that silver and gold are sins, God is perfect likewise all his creatures, no one has right to condemn what God created. She finished her book publication by posting her Church contact address and phone numbers. Nigerians and their gullibility today rude tomorrow saint.

Christianity is turning into another thing in Nigeria today. So King David, Solomon, and all the saints that wore silver and gold rings are all in hell fire? This writer is a big liar to condemn the precious creatures of God.I am surprised as she didn't tell us how she saw her former pastor's wife and GO's wife in heaven, while nameless Nigerians are in the hell fire. Poster of this book, i am saying that you lied, you never went to heaven and did not see the real Jesus Christ.

My people, the only one who have seen Jesus and Heaven is your Holy Bible, and it is through your Holy Bible you will see Paradise/Jesus and not through anyone. This writer is forming a new church and systematically advertizing her church on this free forum. God is real, Rapture is in the Bible, Jesus is in heaven where he will come down from to take the leadership of the new world in Paradise. Our daily prayers says that let your kingdom come, why are you looking up to go to heaven while you have been praying for the kingdom to come down on earth? Jesus taught his followers this daily prayer.

Do not be deceived because many preachers who are opening their Churches TV Cable Station nowadays began their ministerial preaching by condemning the watching of TV those days.

Women in the house keep yourselves clean and beautiful, or remain dirty and worship dirty gods, my God is neat God, Neatness leads to Godliness. Thank you all. Follow your Bible teaching and not man teaching please.

So we have all these good hospitals in Abuja, when then do our government officials go out to foreign countries for ordinary headache treatments? Does it mean that they prefer dyeing outside the country?

From now onwards any official that goes out of the country treatment would be brought home dead because that is what they wish other Nigerians who are not opportune to be in the corridors of power.

Take my words or leave it , this is one of the negative impact of the smoking and taking of drugs in our societies today. But when you tell people to desist from Indian Hemp/Drugs they would call you names.9 out of 10 people you see in Nigeria today is either on one these drugs mostly the Indian Hemps, Gufu. You will see how many of them here on nairaland will react to this my comment now.

Many of these guys act so funny that you would be asking yourself if they are from this planet. Tell me how a brother would kill his brother over an argument? If you go deeply now to know topic of the argument, it would not be far from English Premier League clubs that don’t know it they exist or not . Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, bla, bla, bla.

I pity their mother who wasted her 9months and years raising the beasts she called sons. Any fellow who raises a weapon and strike his/her brother/sister is not worthy to live as a human being. Take heart mother. RIP to the argumentetist dead man. Stay off from DRUGS my people.
Striker is nt the problem, they have rooney, welbeck and chicharito, midfield is d problem, fellani is nt suppose to be in a team like man utd, he is overrated.
What did u see Wellbeck play in that match? He missed two clear early minutes’ chances, as Chicharito i didn't see him in that match. Fellani played well though he is still new to the team, our attack was not strong and that gave the Man City defenders room to join in the attack. Our goal keeper thought he was in Marbella playa.

It is past now but included in the records, we have to look for the better future, which i hope will never disappoint us. Up Man U for life!!!

Up Man U and big Congratulation to the Man City, you had a very good day and played very well in the match. As a Man U supporter i am seizing this opportunity to advise the Man U new coach David Moye to make an alternative signings for the strikers so that when V.Persie is injured we would see a better replaxement for him. W.Beck is not at his best at all. Valencia only play well when he sees little teams. Goal keeper is never motivational at all. Try to go to the national league and shop for a good goal keeper, than these big signings that are only good in conceeding every goal from the balls that passes the defenders.

Man U, you tried your best today, but it wasn't enough to give you people a good result. I do hope that you will start improving from this match today. God bless the Man U, Fc and all the lovers of football in the world. Congratulations to all the teams that won their weekend matches !!.

3 things that happen in a match, it's either you win, draw, or loose. No matter the out come of the match, i will still be Man U supporter till death do us part. I am not like some supporters who only praise their teams/coaches whenever they win, but insult them whenever they loose a match.

The game is one sided as i have watched in the first half, but i feel Man U will improve in the 2nd half, if it happens that they loose at the end of the game, i still say up Man U . And congratulation to Man City.
Car TalkRe: Why Do Nigerians Avoid Diesel Cars When Buying A Vehicle? by COOLDUN: 8:32pm On Sep 21, 2013
Ikenna351: Ask an average Nigerian what car he would like to buy, he would tell you "American spec Toyota Bleep or American spec Honda Bleep. Ask an average Nigerian what car he has. Whether the car was shipped from Germany or Canada, it's still an American spec. A typical average Nigerian!

The other day, I drove into a Plaza. Someone walked up to me and asked, "Where and how did you get a Peugeot 406 American spec? Please, am interested to get one like yours too." I asked him why he believed it was an American spec. He said because the car has Daytime Running Lights. Of course, only in America that cars with DTRL exist. What more could i say to him. I was not surprised anyway. After all, someone once argued with me sometime in the past the he saw a Peugeot 406 American spec which he was interested to buy. I asked him, he said the dealer told him it was an American spec. While examining the car, it was a RHD converted one. Probably, Americans now drive RHD! Even though Canada and USA didn't smell Peugeot 406 in their countries, Nigerians still branded them American specifications. After all, who wouldn't want to drive American spec car?

We can argue all we want. But I will say it again, if Americans start driving Japs diesels and ditch the petrol counterparts, Nigerians will change their songs, "Diesel Toyota and Honda is more reliable, while petrol versions are more problematic". Whatever Americans accept, is accepted in Nigeria too. After all, American cars have better features than other continent specs. Smh!

As for those shouting that Nigerian mechanics can't fix diesel cars. If I may ask, is it the petrol cars that they know how to fix? Step out of this thread, view the first few pages of this section and come back and prove me wrong. All you will see is how Nigerian mechanics have grounded some vehicles that had only minor issues. One may have a blown fuse, take his car to a mechanic or auto electrician to troubleshoot and fix. The car will end up having a fried ECU before its towed out of the workshop or sold as scrap. I can go on and on. If trial and error is what they have been doing in fixing your petrol cars (for the ones that are lucky to drive their cars out with added complex problems), then it shouldn't be an issue for them to continue with the trial and error method on the diesel cars as well. After all, Diesel cars engine system has less electrical components: less sensors than the petrol counterparts. So less nightmares for you to undergo each time you open your bonnet for them.

Ikenna.
You are very right my dear, that is how Nigerians are today going crazy for Automatic cars instead of Manual, juts because Americans are driving Automatic. The cars that were made for the disabled is the best options for the Nigerians today.

Many accidents in Nigeria roads nowadays is as a result of the driving made easy Automatic cars, when someone moves an Automatic car today, tomorrow he/she will enter road without knowing the road signs, before you know it he/she begins to apply long distance routes. When there a little problem on the road you would see them shaking like moi moi. Automatic cars are very easy to drive, and that is why people jump into them as if they are the best. But manual cars make one a good and real driver.

I am not saying that manual drivers do not get accident, but there many Automatic cars easily made drivers on our roads today.

I don't know much about diesel cars but all i know is that, there must be an advantage in every invention. We Nigerians too copy from America, mostly on the bad things. Tell me more of Diesel cars plsease.
FamilyRe: Traditional Marriage In The Village, Is It Compulsory? by COOLDUN:
haminac: Are you ibo? I am Ibo, from mbaise. The village peeps actually have a list that they give ur husband or his people. The dowry is negotiable during the trad wedding, but you must bring everything on the list, if not, the village folks will tell your husbands people that they are not ready to marry their daughter. So they do not consider what you can afford or what you cannot afford. This tradition we all talk about is man made, just like how laws, legislation, rules and regulations are created. If you believe in tradition, no one is saying you should throw away your heritage. Life as we know it evolves. In the past, there are communities that forbid going to hospital. That is not the case anymore in most communities I hope. This is a change in tradition for better. Just because it is tradition does not mean it is the right thing to do. It is tradition in some places to eat human flesh. is that right, no. in some traditions a wife is supposed to drink the water used to wash he mother in laws corpse, if they were not in good terms, is that right, no. Look at technology, why are using computer, Internet, instead of following the ways of our ancestors. I can go on and on, we can all have tradition, but not to the detriment of the people.
You are not an Igbo, because no Igbo fellow would write Ibo as his/her tribe. There is no tradition in Igbo land that permits Cannibalism; you are one of those Efulefus that go about spewing rubbish about the Igbos in order to score cheap marks.

Mbaise i know and where my senior brother married from, i mean Nguru Mbaise, no one exploited my brother for any reason, they accepted what my brother had and gave to them. Today my brother is carrying his wife like an egg, a well educated intelligent girl for that matter. I am from Orlu Imo state.

No village in Igbo land obliges any suitor to do more than his purse, Traditional marriage is never compulsory in Igbo land, but very necessary. It has been happening before your forefathers, but nowadays people have modernized it and added some fun into it. You do the ceremony as you can. Even if you don't have anything to give to your wife's kinsmen, they will gather that day and know their son in-law. Marriage is not finished in one day.

You and your Ibo lost fellows should not come online to claim the knowledge of what you are ignorant of. I have seen an Igbo friend that marry an Igala girl, both of them left Amsterdam to the girl's village to do the traditional marriage. Traditional marriage is not only an Igbo thing as some people are trying to make it look here. Any girl that likes let her take her husband to her home town, who doesn't like should go and marry in Mars planet that is her cup of tea. But we have the Igbo bu Igbo.

vivianc: I can't imagine myself having my trad in BY, Phc, Abj, London, or any place other than my father's compound in my hometown. Tufiakwa!!! Chineke ekwena ka ngwere gbaa achii! Ada di ka m? My trad won't even happen in an uncle's compound o, ama nna m echiri echi? Ashi gbagbuo kwa ihe ojoor! What then would be my pride? Or I should tell a man "eh, my umunna are evil, after all they didn't contribute a dime to what i am today so let's forget about those witches and wizard at home and their stupid tradition?" hehehehehe maka na adara m na elu? If they are witches and wizard, i'm one of them, any man that would marry me would have me given to him by these wizards and it wouldn't made me a little proud.

Like I said earlier, the Igbos that do this otherwise were either ostracised by their umunna, or they are osu, etc.

Infact, its even humiliating for a man to stand alone without being backed by his umunna in any traditional thing he does. So any father who can stand this humiliation indeed has something to hide, period.

Ok, let me picture another scenario where you would hire a bus and tell your umunna to enter, they are going to their daughter's traditional marriage in Lagos or Abuja. grin grin

Wetin I no go hear for nairaland? grin grin

The mother of the girl is the main problem here, if the helpless man cannot bring them home for the traditional marriage let him stay back and let the wife marry the girl out, because he lost his children from the day he married the spy who love him.

The pride of every girl is to bring her husband and his kinsmen to her home town, even if her father has no house, it is only a day ceremony. Thank you my dear for standing for the truth. God will make you proud the day you will bring your husband home to your kinsmen, if is during the raining season, sun will shine throughout the ceremony period for you. Your guests will come peacefully and get back to their home peacefully in Jesus name. Amen.

famousurch: Don't mind the man a real nwa afo Igbo will not marry ndi ofe m, no matter d pressure. It is a lesson to the intending to be ndi ofe m inlaws
Nwanne m, that woman as a Kwara woman never married that Igbo man for LOVE, it is a taboo for a real yoruba man/woman to marry a Kwara man/woman. Whenver they see another fellow from another tribe in the country they will rush the person. When you make that mistake you are gone forver. The first thing they do is to brainwash your children with somany nasty stories about you and your people so that the children will remain in their domain.

The Kwara yorubas have one bad culture that permites their men to be sharing their wives with their brothers, when their younger brothers enters into their houses with their wives, they would leave their foot wears at the door, when the husbands of the women see the foot wears they would say Abro mi wa nile, meaning that my junior brother is in my house, he will excuse them till he finishes with his wife.

Just make a personal research over what i have just writen down here and see if i made any false accusation. For a real yoruba to marry a kwara fellow is a big TABOO. From the story of the girl's mother , i know that the children of that Igbo man are gone. Sorry is the man's new name name now.
