Yeah. Space patrol luluco felt very weird at first but it turned out to be really fun to watch and the ending theme song - Pipo Password - sounds fantastic.
PS: How has studio Trigger gone downhill huh they've recently done Promare which was really wacky and colorful with a SAWANO SOUNDTRACK! although the story wasn't all that, it was still enjoyable. And this year they gave Brand New Animals which was overall a pretty good show. So again how has the studio gone downhill?
Pipo Password is a fantastic soundtrack, I've never been the anime soundtrack guy but I know a good one when I it.

That said, Trigger has definitely gone downhill. And yes, Promare—while decent in its own right—was ultimately just a rehash of concepts and designs from older Trigger and Gainax projects crafted to awaken your Gurren Lagann nostalgia and manipulate you into thinking that it was a great movie.

Now let's their other projects. IMO, Darling in the Franxx, SSSS Gridman, and BNA can't be compared to Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, and if I dare say, Inferno Cop. It seems to me that their more recent shows are generally weaker than their earlier stuff. Gone is the childish, reckless creative freedom they had in the past.

Even when they were dropping low-budget 2fps skits on YouTube back in the day. The last thing I could say about a Trigger anime was that it was boring. However I found myself using that weird a lot when watching BNA, Darling in the Franxx, and second half of Gridman.

Sorry for the long rant but before I joined this board, the running joke in online weeb communities was that Trigger was going to save anime. But today, they're just another studio. Not a bad one by any stretch but not a great one either.

Started Space Patrol Luluco last night and its fantastic. You can tell that this project was someone's baby because of the amount of heart of into it. It is the embodiment of Studio Trigger's values and definitely one of their best shows.

Watching it makes me realize how much Trigger has gone downhill in recent times.

Manga has a beauty of it's own. In the stale and monochrome art.

I don't usually care about spoilers and surprises, because the manga is the experience. I don't read it with the mind that I'll be watching it as anime later, or to get ahead of the episode releases

Anime has it's awesome factor, as sometimes the studio can get creative and add action sequences that were not in the manga. Plus with good soundtracks and voice acting. It provides basically a new & different experience.

And there are mangas that will never get an adaptation or at least a good adaptation because of how difficult the style is to be made into anime. E.g. Berserk, Blame, I am a Hero, oyasumi punpun, vagabond.
Or maybe I'm speaking too soon.
You can add Franken Fran to that list

How do you guys enjoy reading manga when you will still end up watching it? does it not ruin the surprise?
Surprise is not a major factor in my enjoyment of a piece of fiction. I actually don't care about spoilers too much, tbh. As a matter of fact, the manga gets me excited for the anime adaptation.

Also, while I generally prefer anime adaptations, mangas provide things that anime cannot. They have less censorship, and in many cases better art. Just look at Murata's One Punch Man and compare that with Season 2.

Speaking of art, I actually haven't started the Jujutsu Kaisen anime because of how the anime decided to "clean up" the art style. The manga's art is angular and rough around the edges while the anime looks glossy in comparison. Not like that's a bad thing but it's going to take some getting used to.

Elfen Lied, the first episode wow grin
Elfen Lied is from the good old days of anime. Barring Netflix, I don't see how an anime like that gets made today without heavy censorship even in the Blu-ray version.

Damn I'm barely an adult but I'm already sounding a boomer.

Just the author's style, it wouldn't be getting a big announcement on its final chapter if it was cancelled.
Let's hope that Denji wins, saves the girl, and Kobeni gets a new car.

But we all know that isn't going to happen

I have been reading about this Angel beats for sometime, is it good?
Its good but flawed. The writer really likes his sad endings but I'm not sure the anime did the proper leg work to make invested enough to actually feel as sad as others apparently did. However, there were moments within the show that were far better executed than the end.

Oh yeah! I just suspend reality for most romcoms like this, cos they have a lot of "no way this happens in real life" moments and relationships.
RAG is still better than most. At least its not just 12 episodes of the main characters blushing at each other. It's actually funny.

Hmmmmmm! I didn't really mind Ruka, even though I didn't particularly like her character.
It's a general issue in (non-yuri) anime romcoms. How am I supposed to believe that this character who is supposed to be a loser, who isn't attractive or physically fit, this character who spends all day jerking off and pays for rental girlfriends suddenly so many women in his orbit?

I don't know what made me bash it after seeing only one episode. Is it really interesting?
Bungou Stay Dogs is good, especially from season 2. Season 1 had pacing issues and mad tonal whiplash but I think those where somewhat resolved in the later seasons (or maybe I just got used to it). The MC is insufferable but there are other characters that make up for that.

Seems that Dazai and the rest are quite popular among female viewers, though. So maybe that's why it keeps getting new releases even though I don't hear much buzz about it.

2021
How does this anime keep getting more and more seasons/movies? Don't get me wrong, it isn't bad but after its lackluster first season everyone stopped talking about it. Despite the fact that season 2 and 3 were a major improvement I never saw any rise in popularity. So how does it keep getting new releases when stuff like Maid Dragon and Devil is a Part-timer can't even get a season 2?

Attack on Eren
Interesting promotional poster when compared with that of season one. Season one had Eren staring up at the colossal titan. Now season four has someone staring up at Eren's titan form.

I doubt he's heard of it.
Probably not. But he's not wrong about seasonal anime line -ups being full of mediocre titles.

He's also not wrong about Jujutsu Kaisen. I remember mentioning on this board that the early chapters aren't anything special. It starts off slow but gets better later on.
