But that seems to be the case all of the time. Since we are yet to see one unambiguous of that kind. The scientific method would not recognize this as valid and we know the scientific is a successful one (albeit rather slow).

You can treat all options with a level of agnosticism but it doesn't mean that all options are equally valid.

One. A friend of my mother had an accident and lost a hand. My mum prayed for her at home. Almost ten years later, she's fully at peace with a prosthetic hand.

An achievement like that should make waves. That which is postulated without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. The burden of proof is on the people who make the claim.

It's simple. Rational humans should generally go for the most possible option when confronting things that seem strange. We see what magicians do all the time and we know they aren't supernatural, so it is safe to assume that these miracles also have supernatural elements.

But as a freethinker, if evidence shows that it can't easily be faked, then more research should be our into it. A pastor healing an amputee on stage during a live broadcast can't easily be faked. Hence, it would be very solid proof of the supernatural. The very fact that it doesn't happen is telling in this matter.

By your definition, a freethinker cannot truly ever have an opinion on anything. If lack of evidence always requires further research, then good luck finding Russell's Teapot or the Flying Spaghetti Monster since we have no way of dismissing their existence apart from 'absence of evidence'. The truth is that outlandish claims should be dismissed unless there is an outlandish amount of evidence supporting them.

By your definition, an agnostic cannot be a freethinker since they don't believe it is possible to know whether god exists or not. Neither can the agnostic atheist, since their default setting is non-belief.

Are you implying that a true freethinker is one with no previously held opinion and who accepts all opinions without any measure of doubt? We call those people children.

I believe that to some extent animals should have rights. Obviously we can kill them for sustenance, or when they become a nuisance to the environment or for other purposes because human rights always trump animal rights, but we should do this as humanely and as painlessly as possible.

But we aren't to misuse them for violence or perverted purposes.

This is because (depending on the class) animals feel pain and even emotions at varying levels. So, we should take these into consideration and treat them reasonably.

How did they know what happened 3.5 billion years ago? What fossils did they study?

They say they descended from a worm: did they see that worm? Or are they speculating in the name of science?

Radiometric dating is a lie? That means the atomic theory is a lie. That means the atomic bomb is a lie. That means the nuclear energy is a lie.

Since we know these things are true, you have no argument here.

I thought I was arguing with a reasonable person. What does this have to do with radiometric dating? You're bringing up a dead and defeated topic. Every logical person who had actually looked into it knows the Great flies for the myth that it is. Nobody fit a pair of the land animals in existence and put them in a boat. The animals just about to turn into the ones in the Cambrian were probably just classified with the points in the Cambrian. You just said it yourself that there are no clear-cut boundaries so that means that every classification would be fuzzy at the edges, right? It makes it kind of dishonest to ask this question.

Also, there are trace fossils of multicellular organisms before the Cambrian explosion in the late Precambrian. I hope I have satisfied your curiosity.

The Cambrian is the last stratum of the descending levels that has any fossils in it. All the lower strata below the Cambrian have absolutely no fossil record of life other than some single- celled types such as bacteria and algae. Why not? The Cambrian layer is full of all the major kinds of animals found today except the vertebrates. In other words, there is nothing primitive about the structure of these most ancient fossils known to man. Essentially, they compare with the complexity of current living creatures. But the big question is: Where are their ancestors? Where are all the evolving creatures that should have led up to these highly developed fossils? According to the theory of evolution, the Precambrian strata should be filled with more primitive forms of these Cambrian fossils in the process of evolving upward.

What happened? Where are the fossils in the process of turning into those found in the Cambrian?

The Cambrian is full of hard bodies animals. Fossilization needs a hard framework in order to mineralize. This factor, along with the metamorphosis of rock. It would be difficult to decipher the origin of the minerals present. Science only works with evidence.

The flatworm is a fantastic example. It has over 4,000 species and can be found almost everywhere on land and in water. But guess what? Not one fossil has been found. Why? Because it lacks a solid skeleton.

Going by your logic then, we should say that flatworms popped into existence yesterday.
