You lack body hair. If you want your populations to thrive in a cold climate such as the northern hemisphere or during an Ice Age, you have two options.
1. Do nothing and die out while the body hair, a favorable trait will eventually become the dominant one.
2. Circumvent natural selection with your intelligence and cover yourself with animal skins.
It seems like man took the second option. The use of fire and clothing may even have helped along the loss of body hair which has the disadvantage of ectoparasites that cause chronic illnesses in man. |

He made the claim that a banana can fit perfectly into the human hand, therefore god!!! Sadly, this kind of ignorance is known as "Ziggurat Zombification"!!! 1.A banana is simply evidence for a banana, not evidence for a god!!! 2.If the banana can also fit perfectly inside the human anus, then it is evidence for Chou Wang, the Chinese god of Sodomy!!! 3.For Ray Comfort to claim that bananas were created, when infact all bananas are hybrids, is proof that christians are definitely not the brightest stars in the solar system!!! He should go to the dictionary and check the meaning of the word 'Hybrid'!!! 4.Did the christian god make a personal appearance in the movie?!!! What?!!! He didn't?!!! And the christians are here making noise as if something big has happened?!!! Chai!!! So pathetic!!! I laugh in my Mongolian accent!!! Ko ko ko ko Ki ki ki ki Ka ka ka ka ku ku ku ku!!! The saddest thing is that the modern nana is only a product of artificial selection by man. Ray Comfort is not very bright. http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Banana_argument |

kilo4sure: What is your point for crying out loud? Do you just want to prove the gospels unreliable hence completely useless when it comes to Jesus? Sorry to burst your bubble but scholars even though they agree the gospels are not totally reliable, still believe the synoptic gospels and Paul are the best sources for the historical Jesus, what they do is take away those parts that do not align historically, in separating the wheat from the chaff just like they do with that of Socrates and other historical materials they have. Ancient writers usually had their form of bias when they wrote and even the best of them wrote from their own biased point of view. This is no news. As for Jesus performing miracles and being a healer, this is more likely to be the truth about the historical Jesus even his enemies the Jews who wrote the Talmud between 70-200AD, spoke of Judaism in the first century, when it came to Jesus, they could easily have said he didn't exist and everything was a lie, but this is what they wrote about yeshua (Hebrew name for Jesus)
On (Sabbath eve and) the eve of Passover, Jesus the Nazarene was hanged and a herald went forth before him forty days heralding, "Jesus the Nazarene is going forth to be stoned because he practiced sorcery and instigated and seduced Israel to idolatry. Whoever knows anything in defense may come and state it." But since they did not find anything in his defense they hanged him on (Sabbath eve and) the eve of Passover.
Ulla said: "Do you suppose that Jesus the Nazarene was one for whom a defense could be made? He was a mesit (someone who instigated Israel to idolatry), concerning whom the Merciful [God] says: Show him no compassion and do not shield him (Deut. 13:9). With Jesus the Nazarene it was different. For he was close to the government.[54][65][66][67]
So even his enemies did not deny that he existed or performed miracles, rather they said he was a magician who led Israel astray with his sorcery, while you, 2000 years later claim he performed no miracle. No, I clearly stated that there was a good chance he existed. Jesus was the most successful among a long line of troublemakers who called themselves the messiah of the Jews. The epistles of Paul do not talk about Jesus as God. In fact, the earliest gospel, Mark doesn't even talk about the transfiguration. All those writings you have are written after the formation of the Church. |

promise10: You still messing things up!
Remember that another words for eternal are TIMELESS, AGELESS.
For you to say that an eternal being can be conceived simply means that it is NOT OUT OF AGE. It is simply not ageless, because eternity doesn't run with age or time.
So, it is evident that an eternal/timeless/ageless being CAN NEVER BE CONCEIVED. Hence, it is NO MORE ageless!
Please, how does your last paragraph explain the faith that life comes from non-living matter?
I am all ears. What he is saying is that is that on the quantum level particles can and will seemingly pop into existence. It is an observable phenomenon that gives credence to theories that can be disproved but haven't yet been, probably because they are accurate. All you've done is build up an unproven theory of a God that exists outside space and time. An theory that is really lame because of its lack of evidence. I might as well just say that there is giant teapot that exists outside space and time and it would be as credible as what you are saying. |

kilo4sure: With the exception of philo and Josephus how many rabbinic or Jewish writings do you have from the first century? Was it a literate culture and did they place so much value in writing rather than oral teaching? Even Talmudic Judaism did not put their events down for many years until the second century after the destruction of the temple, they never saw the need to write, the apostles also may have thought the kingdom of God was very near, even so not many of this fisher men could have been literate to write things down, when they began to die, the Christian communities saw the need to record these events, especially after the destruction of the temple. A man who performed so many miracles, caused such a stir that Herod allegedly ordered mass infanticide for his sake, rose from the dead and floated off into the upper atmosphere should at least have an arrest record. All allusions to his miracles and divinity were only gotten from Christian sources way after the fact. The gospels are in direct conflict in their details on many occasions. The whole thing is just a cacophony of scribbles from men with an agenda. |

shadeyinka: Favourable Behavious selescted over years? It doesnt add up. How does a male dog know how to mate? How does a hen know that it should brood over a clutch of eggs? How do some fish go back to the same spot for spawing? .....
These are overly complex behaviours. Have you ever thought about this hypothetical question: If you never saw or witnesed sexual related activities among other humans (if you were raised in complete isolation of any human being) till you became an adult, do you think that you will know how to do it?. As humans, we have to directly or indirectly learn this behaviour yey lower animals just know it...
Of course our choices and our attitudes are shaped from the social interactions we experience throughout our lives. But it still is a function of or WILL, we choose at the end the course of our life. The human WILL is a function of the Soul
I hope I understand you well? If the soul was the Operating System and the Application Program of your Brain, would you admit that you have a soul? You're just asking questions that I've already answered. It is coded in the genes of every single animal to make more of its kind. Even the very DNA that makes us up is self-replicating. kilo4sure: It still doesn't answer my question. Socrates perhaps one of the greatest philosophers ever never penned anything down. The rational Buddha also never penned anything down, his disciples wrote about him 500years after. Many great men do not write things down. Why should a living Christ write a book? Don't get me wrong. Chances are good that Jesus existed. All I'm saying is that it's a little counter-intuitive for an omniscient god to rely on flawed humans to record what he did. Also, I feel that if a man performed the miracles that Jesus was said to have, then we won't have to wait till 20 years after his death for him to be mentioned in passing in some letters. I also strongly feel that we won't have to wait for 30 years after his death for people to actually start talking about his life and said miracles. And I very strongly feel that the stories about him shouldn't be so conflicting in their details. |

Isn't it kind of funny that a guy that was literally God came to lead his people to the light and couldn't pen a thing down? Leaving no reference of all his wonders until at least 20 years after his death when the epistles came out? Isn't it funny that Paul's epistles were written before the gospels? |

They don't have a god but rather an abstract representation to symbolize dissent from a tyrannical leader. All they did was show that though they reject religion, which includes Islam, they can accept Muslims. It was a simple show of support to people who had nothing to do with the terrorist attack. They realize that we are all just people trying to make sense of the life we have so they can be charitable to people who they disagree with. The action had nothing to do with a god or their atheism. It was a simple act of charity. |

The question has not been answered:
is there an agreement between the Atheist community about the soul?
If the soul is immaterial does it not prove either that 1. The soul is a kind of operating system for the body? 2. The immaterial could also be real?
I believe you know my position on the soul: as -Death as when a mans Soul departs the Body -The Soul is that invisible part of you that you call "I !" or " ME!" . -The Soul defines you as a conscious identity and it is the center of your Will, Emotion and Intellect . -The Soul is the Operating System Software of the Brain. -The Soul is the center of Emotion, Will and Intellect. -The hardware interface of the Soul to the Physical world is the Body -The Soul is the Identity and Consciousness of an individual -All Animals have a soul -In addition to the Soul, the human being has a spirit that makes his soul eternal. -Instinct is a prove that some certain behaviours are pre-recorded in an animal
If you look at a computer, the relationship between the Body and Soul is like that of the CPU and the Operating System.
donnffd had presented the most mature Atheistc view yet.
I hope this will lead some of you back to the Creator! This is your opinion. Instinct is nothing more that favorable behaviors that have been selected over the years though nature and nurture. The 'soul' to me seems nothing more than the means through which the brain can coordinate with the body. But can you really separate it from the brain. Emotional responses are gotten from chemical secretions in the body that are coordinated from the brain. These impulses are responses to the stimuli we receive day to day. Our wills, and our attitudes are shaped from the social interactions we experience throughout our lives. So I can say that I have no soul in the dualistic sense. But as a person who sees no evidence as to why the body and soul have to be considered as separate entities then of course I have one. |
