For those saying boarding school is worse, it depends on who you are.

When I was in school, my hostel is considered the baddest. Even if you kill a human being among us, no one will hear it outside, we will all keep mum and bear the punishment together.

That does not affect me negatively It only teach me how to be tough and build some team spirit within me.

I am a fragile looking young man, takes very much like my mum and quite handsome. I can tell you how many guys in my hostel are gays cause they made advances towards me. I call out one and he stopped disturbing me, the other molested a junior student and was expelled so I don’t need to bother about him.

However, no one disturb me except that the gay guy I called out in the midst of my mates usually pick trouble with me. But he can’t beat me. However, like I said we keep our shit to ourselves, no one outside our hostel hear anything about the matter.

I went to school and come out unaffected by the unpleasant experiences. But I learnt a lot of skills that will later help me in life.

If you are corrupted in a boarding school, you will stilll be corrupted outside boarding school.

If your brother has good morals, take him to a boarding school. Don’t be scared of the rumors.

That was hoy one boy was always playing with us girls and before long he started behaving like a girl. He would clap his hands and gesticulate like a girl anytime he and someone is quarreling. We didn't know about gay then. It was later after we had come off age, I realized that boy was gay.

Greetings everyone. This festive season, I traveled to my family house and noticed something.

We rented out the 2 bedroom in our compound to this couple with a little girl around 4 year old I think.

Understand that my lil Bro (10) is the last born, so he stays with my Mom and 3 other of my sisters including the eldest. He is very close to our last sister (13), they do literally everything together.

So I noticed whenever our last sister plays with this our neighbour's kid, my lil Bro leaves whatever he's doing to join them. He grew up with the ladies in the house though cos My dad is late so I'm more like the father figure now. I don't live with them, the 2nd boy (17) lives with me and is in the university at my state of residence. This is a new estate we moved into and unlike our former estate where he goes out to play with his peers at the play ground, this one is very quiet and more like OYO (on your own).

Normally, there's a gaming console in the house and also a desktop computer, put them all in the house last year, he could make use of that whenever he's bored but he choose to play with the girls. My Mom doesn't have a problem with that but I don't want him to start behaving like a girl or something, so I'm considering putting him in a good boarding school cos he's too young to come stay with me at the moment.

Also looking out for the best way possible to handle this, need advice from mainly parents please.

I am abroad and this is not true. It just becomes annoying when you look at your phone everyday and all you see is request for money from different people.

It becomes most annoying when you're most likely sleeping or just waking up to see such messages when you look at your phone first thing in the morning. Usually those sending such messages don't put time difference into consideration.

As much as someone abroad is willing to help, those being helped should not be entitled. Those abroad too should learn not to create an avenue for dependence.

Relationships are meant to be mutual, not parasitic.

I will tell you for a fact,that things are sometimes very tough and overwhelming here in America.
After many years I Visited Naija for the first time in June 2023 ,and return to base same month. I went back straight to my academic program which is full time, Imagine leaving home 6.30am and start school 7am till 2.30pm then drove straight to work and closed by 11pm ,then got home 11.40pm,eat and start fixing my assignments, then sleep for only 2hrs if possible?
When will I have time to read my messages and return them.bills are waiting for me everywhere, my tuition is over $4k for each semester plus other bills,like rent,insurance, medical, credit card,feeding, gas,phone,etc.

Get you mother to contact her directly to know if your step-sister is safe. She wouldn't ignore your mother. Once it is confirmed that your sister is safe, then let your mother inform your sister about how important it is to keep the line of communication open between you sisters over video calls or emails.

Then just simply lay back and let things flow normally while building your own career path like you've started doing. She'll come around eventually.
