Why struggle to have a 4.4gp and still come out with second-class upper as someone else with a 3.5gp. When the person didn't struggle but made sure his gp wasn't below 3.5
My target was actually first class, unfortunately I had some setbacks in the form of Carry-overs. So, you see?
EducationI Made 4.38 CGPA And I'm So Happy... by Cooolme(op): 9:48am On Aug 14, 2023
My final exams were just released, and I just confirmed my CGPA, you may be thinking why I am excited over it even though it's not first class but let me explain briefly.

Starting school at a young age, I had a tough time taking my studies seriously. I didn't pay much attention to my notes. This carried on into secondary school, where my grades were just average. I managed to score 188 in JAMB, 230 in my POST UTME, got 1b, and C's in my NECO, which I used to process my admission cos my school WAEC was withheld, and I didn't bother to retake it.

I was only 15 when I started university, a friend's candid portrayal of university life had prepared me for what lay ahead, or so I thought.

My first challenge was my roommate, a very unserious fellow. His mockery of my attempts to establish disciplined study habits took its toll on me, leading to a particularly trying semester during which I had 3 carry-overs, my worst ever.

Before the next semester began, I talked to my family about changing my lodge. They advised me to stay where I was until my second year, but deep down, I knew it wasn't right for me. So, I had to hustle up cash and with the help of my beloved aunt (RIP Ma'am) I was able to rent my own space, the best and most expensive lodge around school as at that time…

This time I will be staying alone till further notice, the GP hustle began. I would read and read, only me, as I never liked group reading or night class stuff. I began to excel academically, was a thing of joy, the last time I felt that brilliant was during my Junior secondary school days.

While I was improving my grades, I also needed to earn money. My family's support decreased because my dad was sick. So, I had to balance between learning skills for financial independence and keeping up with my studies. It wasn't easy, and I missed classes sometimes, but I kept trying. Eventually, things got better, and I was even able to buy a car last year.

But life threw a big challenge at me during the first semester of my final year, my dad passed away. I had to handle a lot of responsibilities as the first son, and to make things tougher, my uncles scheduled the burial a few days before my exams. I was sick during the exams, but I pushed through and did my best.

And now, the results are out, and I did really well. I've overcome this phase of my life, and I'm so grateful. It's not just about the grades; it's about the journey of going from struggling to succeeding. Thank God for guiding me through it all.

BSc Computer science in the bag, GOD DID!

FamilyWill Tribalism Ever End On This Platform? by Cooolme(op): 9:13am On Jul 06, 2023
I've been a guest on nairaland since I was young (around 2016) before joining finally and as at then the tribal slurs weren't this much but it's worse now.
I was speaking to my friend who's not even a Nigerian the other day and something brought about nairaland, he accesses this forum and he thinks Nigerians hate themselves because of the way we engage ourselves on this forum.
You can't go under any post on the front page without seeing a tribalistic comment.
I really hope something can be done about this as this is very bad to national unity in general.

Report him to the director of your department, if that doesn't work out, go straight to the Vice Chancellor.

And be sure that he marked you wrong in order to avoid embarrassing yourself in front of the director or the VC.
He's a very senior lecturer here and I'm very sure he marked me wrong.
Imagine exam that even till now, if I look at the questions I still have them on my head.
Omo the man show me shege this time.
FamilyHow Do I Deal With This Lecturer? by Cooolme(op): 5:55pm On Jun 26, 2023
Greetings everyone, I didn't know the right section to post this so please "No reason am", Thanks.
I just signed out from the university doing my clearance already but I have a problem.
I won't say I'm very brilliant but I do make A's normally in my courses, so there's this course we offered in my first semester final year that I know very well. As a student, I read and study to the point I have no doubt in myself when sitting for my exams and this one wasn't different, I answered all the questions in that paper correctly, did the mid semester exams, assignments with 100% attendance (I dared not play this final year).
Now having marked scripts myself before, there is no marking scheme in this world as far as that course is concerned that should make me score less than a B and this lecturer gave me an E, spoiling my CGPA because of the huge credit load attached to the course.
I'm a very humble student, you don't even notice me in class unless I'm asked questions, I try as much as possible to avoid lecturers and it has been working for me except this Man.
He failed me in my 100lvl after lying I didn't sign out of the hall, something I remember very well I did and now he has done it again.
Maybe he wanted bribe, I don't know or he just hates me for no reason.
I don't want to let this slide and I'll spend my money for this even if need be.
How do you suggest I best deal with this wicked man?

So a family friend's birthday is coming up in few days and I've been thinking of what to get for him.
This man is the nicest person I've ever met, before and after I lost my father and he's been there for me and my family.
He may be on this forum so I don't really want to into details, but he's a very good person.
Budget is 500k and I don't know what to get for him.
I'll appreciate your suggestions, thanks.

PoliticsWhy Are APC People Always Attacking PO? by Cooolme(op):
I have noticed the way these APC boys are always quick to attack any post that has to do with Peter Obi, or you even see their comments insulting Peter Obi on other posts that concern other candidates.
Before the election, I made a post on my contribution towards the Obidient movement and they flooded my post insulting me for no reason.
Don't know why they are pained like this, or is it Peter Obi the only contest against APC in this election?
These guys are the main fascists.

You have your answer. Gen is a luxury. Car is equally a luxury which requires fueling and maintenance. You can't compare yourself with an average student.

#1500 per meal? When you can cook it cheaply or visit where they sell #500.

Na you do yourself.

I am sure you also spend on woman.
I don't cook on exam weeks, and that's the average meal I can get here.
Secondly...
I don't spend on women Sir, I'm very shy around them so that makes them the least of my concern.

When I hear some say they spend 50k in a week ..I begin to wonder what this people do for a living in a country where minimum wage is 30k and lots of people are unemployed... some don't even earn 50k in a month...I guess every one in Nigeria is fantastically corrupt ...if there is accountability...everyone should ve been in jail
This mentality I think is keeping some Nigerians behind, bro if you're making at least 800k every month you won't be saying these things.
I'm talking legit stuff not fraud.

From this thread you can easily tell that the average Nigerian is not disciplined when it comes to money.

Tomorrow these set of môrons will become politicians, and add more mess to this same country. In their mind they think they're balling but deep down, they know they don't have control over their spendings.

How hard is to take pen, draft a spending plan and stick to it? Yeye people.
I understand your point and it's something I used to do but I noticed I wasn't really eating healthy so I had to invest properly in my feeding.
80% of that cash goes on feeding alone, I advice you eat properly if you can fund it.
