Car Talk › Re: A Friend Borrowed My Car And Brought It Back Like This by coputa(m): 12:29pm On Jan 23, 2024
Spark2:
Good day NL.
A friend of mine borrowed my car few days ago to help ease movement for him. I happily gave him the car because I understood the need he had.

For precautionary reasons, I don't let my fuel get below quarter tank. Each time it gets there, i ensure I top it up.

When I gave this guy my key, I told him clearly to ensure he adds enough fuel as he's leaving my place and not to allow the fuel guage gets below quarter.

My car spent some days with him. he brought back the car and complained that my car has stopped on the way several times and each time it stops, he'd have to buy a little fuel and add before it moves.

Second, he brought back the car with scratches on my front bumper. I learned from someone that he had moved on terrible roads with the car. I was told he went to places that other people had parked because their vehicles can't enter.

I asked how much fuel he bought and he told me he bought a few litres of fuel. This got me furious because this is a journey that if I am to go, I'd have to buy over 40L of fuel.

Third, he brought it back with a faulty fuel gauge, my fuel gauge has never been faulty since I bought my car. It was not possible for me to know the fuel level at the time he returned the car.

I had to go fix my car because I had a need to go somewhere with it. My mechanic opened to tank to check why the car was stopping as well as the fuel gauge. To my surprise, my tank was terribly empty. It was dry.

I had to buy so much fuel as well as fix the fuse of the fuel gauge. As for the scratches, I will have to leave them like that. The funny thing is that my friend cannot even tell me he is sorry.

I have resolved in my mind, I WILL NEVER GIVE ANYBODY MY CAR AGAIN. NO.
ITS ONLY ME THAT CAN TAKE CARE OF MY CAR. I AM THE ONE MAINTAINING IT AND I KNOW EHERE IT PAINS.

what do you think about this?
Do you give out your car to your friends to use especially in this hard economy where fuel, maintenance and cost of parts are on the high side.
Friendship should have boundaries except few exceptions which doesn't happens occasionally

Let your friends and family know their limits

This is a huge loss,I also think there's a lot of competition in the home care market.

Nigerians purchasing power has dropped drastically, so they opt for cheaper brands as alternative

Many industries in Nigeria are just struggling to stay afloat
Politics › Re: Insecurity In FCT: There's A Disconnect Between Wike & Elected Officials-kingibe by coputa(m): 10:25pm On Jan 21, 2024
ravensckar:
Every passing day, it's becoming obvious that the insecurity issue that is bedevilling Abuja is politically motivated. Tinubu appointed Ribadu (an ex-police officer) as a National Security Adviser. This has never happened before, that position is always occupied by military men. Secondly, he appointed a Southerner (Wike of all people) as a minister of FCT. Anyone with functioning brain cells would see that the President is daring the North and they will show him. My only concern is the citizens that will be caught in the cross fire because where two Elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers.

Mr. President, this is not Lagos where you have absolute control. Your government should be one of inclusiveness and not divisiveness. We've long suffered misrule and cannot afford to see you fail. Please apply a 'political solution' to this problem. Nowhistanding, all those who are responsible for the current spate of kidnappings must be brought to book.

Give us a few examples Akwa ibom have very good access road how's the economic activity

Give me example of a village this has happen
Good road network has enhanced rural urban trade in Akwa Ibom state by helping farmers and traders in rural communities have easy access to many high profile customers in the urban centres

The 4.2km Abak Ifa-Ikpa Mbok Eyop-Ikot Abia Osom -Nko Road that connects communities in Ikot Ekpene and Obit Akara local government areas are opening the areas to inter state trade with Abia state just to mention a few..

Since you mentioned Akwa Ibom state, you may be domiciled there as well

Road network is a key to economic growth and development

Lmao this one just dey copy text book they post

You don't need tared road to move goods to the market... Absolutely u don't

You don't need access roads to the market to be good for people to come and buy

Ariara has disproven this theory na
good access roads opens up rural areas to many developmental activities and initiatives it may not necessarily be tared,Ariaria is just a few case

Infrastructural development brings economic growth and development.

You sound like a secondary school student

You build structures when you have economically improved your people

At least get the average home income to $10000 -$20000

This your mindset is the major issue with Nigeria

If I go to your village, build all the roads, schools, market, clinic... What exactly would that change for the average man in your village

Development is the people not infrastructure
Good roads in rural areas make it easier to move agricultural produce to the cities, and the importance of schools in rural areas cannot be overemphasized,as for modern market in rural areas,it gives access to buyers of agricultural produce to come in and do business

All these add great economic value and economic development to the village, since they are now economically empowered through this actions.it aslo steam rural urban drift

Wrong policy, how can our society move forward.by this singular action, many jobs Will be lost as the company will Stop production

Can't they weight the pros and cons before taking any decisions or is it a vindictive action

Lagos state government could have established recycling industries to recycle this foam and plastic cans and you will be surprised that it won't be found littering all over the place

It will also create jobs and employment for the people

Even the FBI is inefficient without the cooperation of Americans.
If you see anything suspicious, call the police and inform others. Do something even without exposing yourself.
Nigerians should be sensitized on the need and importance of giving vital information to the security forces, but the bad aspect of this is that the identity of the informant is often revealed to the criminals by the police.

This shows that there are lot of accomplices and bad eggs in the force

Moronic daft thing, you are a disgrace to the religion called Christianity. You are just one of the cursed daft evil minds hiding under the Christian religion. What does your Bible say to you about one who calls another a fool? So much for being a Christian. Christian my ass. People were having a civil conversation and you jumped into it by calling people names. I have told you before that you are a wizard, a complete child of the devil with an evil heart, hiding under Christianity. Go for deliverance. May you be the one to beg your colleagues for food this year.
Begging to eat will be your portion in Jesus name, were you not one of the online beggars here in nairaland.

Just see what bad economic policies have caused Nigerians.

A five litres of vegetable oil now goes for between 9-10k.

Government should just open boarders and allow essential commodities to come in so that Nigerians don't die of hunger.
opening the borders is even worse, the country will be a dumping ground for all manner of products

Good day nairalanders. Pls I need your utmost input on this and how to go about this. My girlfriend is a travel agent that deals with anything travels and flights booking. It happens that I gave her some link to a friend of mine abroad that wants to book a flight tickets for his family of four in Nigeria to come over to meet him abroad which made my girlfriend to make a substantial amount profit from the deal. After everything, I expect my babe to atleast give me something out of the money she made or worst case scenario, get me a gift to atleast appreciate me for what I did by bringing client to her so that it will motivate me to do more for her in that area but till now, she had not mentioned it. Now I want to ask if it will make sense asking her of my own share out of the deal and hope it won't make me look somehow or greedy. I just felt I should get something cos I made lots of efforts to ensure the deal was concluded and now I feel like been cheated somehow. To her, she felt it was just a goodwill.
You should have struck a deal with her at the onset, since you didn't,then keep your fingers crossed, don't ask her,let her be,she may be testing your greed and patience.

On your own part, this is an opportunity to know her attitude towards money issues.keep mute and get your self respect

This government is swimming against the economic tide.

If CBN is increasing interest rate, what incentive are they giving to industralist to do business,no wonder they are closing shops in droves.

Tinubu has virtually ground the nations economy to a halt by his anti people policies

Industrialists are groaning under the heavyweight if multiple taxes coupled with lack of forex to do business, not to mention the burden of fuel subsidy removal that has stimulated cost push inflation

Insecurity is another salient matter

I put it to you that you are a witch/wizard. You are only using Christianity to cover up but your heart is a sepulcher of wickedness. Yes, everyone cannot be rich at the same time and only God determines who he lifts up. But intentionally praying for people to come and beg you for food shows you are filled with the spirit of witchcraft. You need to go for deliverance.
Your diatribe shows you just type without brain or proper reasoning, you must be a fake Christian. It is not prayers or curse that makes someone to come down,it. is through self inflicted actions ditto promotions,it is by thy works.witchcraft has no power over Gods children.

You are the one being childish here. I'm a Christian and can tell you clearly that that prayer is more of a witchcraft induced kind of prayer. Yes, the man might not mean it exactly how he has put it but generally, it isn't a good prayer. Why can't we pray that we all will succeed together at the same time? Why do we have to pray for our colleagues to come and beg us for food? It's my prayer that me and my entire household and my colleagues, all prosper simultaneously. None of them should come and beg me for bread. Let God bless us together as we grow up. I don't want to be the rich one in the midst of poverty. I'd rather we all be rich at ten same time so we don't have to envy one another.
You are not a christian,if you are then you should know where God demote and promotes men in the bible. In life, some people sell their properties while others buy them everything has its time and season.Everybody cannot prosper or go down at the same time.

I've listen to many of their preachings and I can say that you can't get anything meaningful from it, other than taxing and asking you to be hopeful on God.

Someone asked one of these pastors why we have different DNA? Cause the Bible said the first human was Adam and Eve.

Stories in the Bible will keep you wondering if some people take others for a fool. How can a group of people gathered to build a tower towards heaven and God decided to strike on them by making them confused and speak in different languages. Same sky we fly around today.... Did God relocate from the sky to the sun?

Imagine 3 colleagues/family members attending that service together and all shouting amen to that prayer. They would leave there with a competitive spirit. A would go home praying for B and C to come and beg him for food. Be would be praying for A and C to come and beg him for food. C would be praying for A and B to come and beg him for food. When A starts doing better than B and C, anger and strife will set in and the other two would attribute it to the prayers prayed in church. If they don't have the spirit of God in them, they start attacking A and man starts fighting battles. We should avoid praying prayers that stir up strife and only pits us against one and other. 👌🏽
Stop being childish, prayer without faith and action is dead,of course in life when there's a casting down there's also a lifting up
