joywendy:
really op no one is focusing you to do a white wedding.
just say you don't want to do it, than coming here to rant that it's unafrican. There is always a court marriage which is way much cheaper and faster, if that's your problem.

the trad marriage does it offer a certificate to prove that you are both married? i think not correct me if am wrong. that the most important thing in a wedding the marriage certificate.

There are many things we do in Africa that's not a part of our culture from the beginning. you may as well stop typing in English and start typing in your native dialect because every other thing is unafrican. you may as well stop wearing western attire because its unafrican. you may as well drop your religion and go back to the African religion of sango and all because its unAfrican.

if you claim you want to boost the African culture.

ladies who tend to just be normal and don't apply facial makeup are seen as members of the s.u. when she does she is suffering from cultural slavery.
The generalization in your post irritates me.
i know some ladies who prefer trad wedding to the white one.

everyone knows that the white wedding isn't from Christianity. so what exactly are you blabbing about?

inferiority complex
i laugh in Swahili ain't you part of those Africans?
who discriminate others who are trying to continue the old culture by referring to some of things done has barbaric? you will be the first to point fingers at people who decided to wore bare on their feet and tie wrapper.

#smh

I abandon this thread so many months ago and now it is on front page shocked

Fortunately and Unfortunately for me, my post is on the first page.

one thing i have learnt on nl is that you can't answer everyone who mentions you in a comment,if you do you might probably give yourself high blood pressure.
Yes, i admit that i sounded ignorant in some areas of my post and i made some blunders and mistakes esp In The area of Education and Certificate. I Mixed up Civilization with westernization during my little outburst also.

But then with all the mentions am getting it seems that most people didn't even understand what i was trying to pass across and are attacking me based on this "mistake".

I don't know why no one noticed the generalization in the op's post, i get his point but he didn't present his points properly in my opinion hence my own outburst.

The white wedding is not compulsory and it will never be. It is the foolish follow follow mentality we have in Nigeria that is killing us. Almost everyone wants to show off and they want everyone to know they are getting married hence after traditional they go on to do the white wedding.

So it is a matter of choice and perspective. To some of us it might look insecure and insane. But to some it is just normal and they are celebrating one of the best days of their lives.

so who are we to judge?

Joy you fall wendy hand for this post. Eya, i feel for you o.

Sports / Ebola Epidemic And Afcon by Cornel88(m): 9:04am On Nov 20, 2014
The fear of the Ebola epidemic ravaging some countries in Africa, has cost Morocco, hosting right of the 2015 Orange Africa Cup of Nations, and also the chance of featuring in the competition, as the request for the postponement of the competition, by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the kingdom of Morocco, was turned down by CAF.

It was understood that CAF want to maintain its matches calendar for the competition, hence, the problem of "which nation can host the competition within a short notice" at the  expense of Morocco; and had written to its 54 member countries that the Ebola scare is not enough reason to change their qualifying matches calendar and venues across the African continent with the exception of three countries, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, where there have been a significant number of Ebola cases. The decision was made after CAF had consulted the World Health organization, and went on to ask the three countries to move their matches to a more safer and neutral venues.

Also, in its statement, CAF had confirm that they had by November 10, received some applications to host the tournament according to schedule.

"These applications are currently under review and the Executive Committee will finalize the selection of the successful National Association shortly and confirm the place and date of the draw of the final tournament at the same time”, said CAF.

With this in mind, CAF had a number of potential replacements for the role of host nation, which includes South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya.

It was rumoured that Ghana might be interested in hosting, but Ghana’s Sports Minister, Mahama Ayariga confirmed that they will not host, because of the fear of the deadly Ebola virus.

Nigeria has what it takes to host the competition, considering her success in hosting the world at junior level and the brand new facility in Akwa-Ibom State, but presidential election is scheduled to hold a week after the competition.

South Africa would have been favourite, haven successfully hosted the World Cup and Afcon between 2010 – 2013, but they never showed interest in hosting the competition.

Morocco is also scheduled to play host to Fifa World Club Cup in December.

With only two Ebola-free African countries club Moghreb Athletic de Tétouan (Morocco) and Entente Sportive Sétifienne (Algeria) to be participating; and other teams outside the Ebola-threatened continent, Morocco is willing to host the Fifa World Club Cup as scheduled.

After all considerations, it was announced by CAF, on 14th November, that the 2015 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Equatorial Guinea.

And it was agreed that matches will be held at four venues (Bata, Ebebiyin, Mongomo and the capital Malabo).

The draw for the finals will be in Malabo on December.

CAF president, Hayatou express his gratitude to Obiang for agreeing to his country hosting the tournament in short notice.

“To agree to organise a competition like this two months before the event, you must admit you really have to be a true African,” Hayatou said.

Also Equatorial Guinea was praised by African Union Chief Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

“The Ebola outbreak in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone should not paralyse continental programmes and events,” Dlamini-Zuma said.

“Like many other challenges the continent has faced in the past, the Ebola outbreak is being surmounted and is by no means a reason to stall the African Cup of Nations.

“Football is a unique unifying force of our continent and the world. We look forward to once again coming together and celebrating Africa together in the exhilarating 2015 AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

“We should remember that we have fought and defeated many tragedies including HIV/AIDS whose spread has been significantly halted. We will defeat Ebola.”

Equatorial Guinea hosted the 2012 African Women Championship and also were co-host to the 2012 African Nations Cup.

Ok. Sorry if it appears as if i criticized you.

Now, that is the problem, trying to recover the money you have lost by adding to your loss.

It is not as if i'm saying that i dont play this games or it is wrong to play. But when one makes it a priority, one becomes addicted. Before you know it, it becomes your only source of income, because it probably must have recked your shop.

In every thing you do, apply WISDOM. WISDOM is the altimate gift that was given to man by God. Use it well and God will be proud of you.

I am not satisfy with the details.

Whether he was given a sufficient notice; Whether the landlord got courts oder to evict;
If the landlord choose the option of N50,000 bail, what will that mean to the tenant's N300,000 worth of property that got damage?

In a nation where the unemployment level is high, where betting company is every where. People tend to see betting as an alternative to make it.

If you carry a out a survey on regarding bet or any form of try-you-luck game like lotto, you will find out that majority of our unemployed graduate are becoming adicted to betting.

This is what our hash economy caused us.
