Sports / Does Mesut Ozil Really Worth 40+million Pounds? by Cornel88(m): 1:47pm On Nov 11, 2013 |
From the begining of the transfer, I have always believe that Ozil's big money move is not a good business entered by Wenger. Ozil is good, but he is not worth up to 40m+. That is my opinion. His performance since I have been watching him is at the average level, since he has not the streight, speed, shotting ability and dribbling skills. All these are my arguement with my co-workers this morning and majority are against my opinion, and some went as far as saying that Ozil is better than Juan Mata. Please nairalanders, what is your take on this and reasons for your opinion. Thanks. |

Celebrities / Beverly Osu Wanted To Be A Nun by Cornel88(m): 6:25am On Oct 13, 2013 |
Background I grew up in Surulere, Lagos. But I grew up like a boy! I am the last child and only girl in the family. I did not have toys and I did not know any Barbie story, all I knew was Voltron, a cartoon. I did not grow up with both parents. My father is a very simple man and he is somebody who can accept your mistakes. He does not spank his kids. Meanwhile, my mother is very strict. I could not even play outside as a young child. I had to ride my bicycle inside the sitting room. I attended Daughters of Divine Love Convent, Enugu State. I thought I would be a reverend sister but I abandoned the vision when I dropped out in my fifth year. I finished my secondary education in a secular institution before moving to Babcock University. I could not finish from Babcock because I had some personal issues. Again, I dropped and enrolled at the National Open University. My convent experience It affected me in a very spiritual way. In as much as I know worldly things, I still fear God and have faith in Him. The reason why I wanted to become a nun was because I was raised in a Catholic home. I just felt it was the best thing for me to do at that time. I used to see myself as a messenger of God. Even though I did not become a nun, I still remain faithful to God. Part of my dreams is to establish a church and do a lot of charity work. Me and Big Brother I went there of my own freewill and spending time in the house has greatly influenced my lifestyle. I have changed in a lot of ways. I am cutting down on friends because I have too many of them— home and abroad. Also, I have always been a very impatient person but staying in the Big Brother house has changed all that for me. The experience taught me to tolerate people because a lot of them annoyed me in that house. While I was there, I learnt that good things come to those who wait. It was difficult initially because I was always conscious of the cameras but I had to live with it. My affair with Angelo I fell in love with Angelo. I am a very open person and I do not like to hide my feelings. The concept of the show was reality. Since it did not require pretence or play acting, I just became true to myself. Concerning the issue of sex in the house, I have said it many times that there was no sex involved. The bathtub incident was just blown out of proportion by the media. If there was a camera inside the bath water, everyone would have clearly seen that Angelo had his boxers on. But I guess since I was the naked one, it was easy to rush to conclusion. Time will tell if there is a future for the relationship. Also, I believe relationships should be left in the hands of God. He decides when and who you can move with from one stage to another. For now, I can only say I had fun while the stay in the house lasted and right now, I am still having fun. I am a young lady. I have a lot going for me and so many things to be done. Plans Apart from continuing with my charity work, I will resume my video vixen role and feature in as many musical videos as possible. Also, I have plans to host talk shows and do some movies. But above all, I will continue to pursue my passion of dancing and modelling. Style I like simplicity in style. I am not a flirty dresser and the items that can never be missing in my wardrobe are bum shorts and tank tops. These are what I wear on a daily basis.www.punchng.com/spice/essence/i-wanted-to-be-a-nun-beverly-osu/ |
Celebrities / Between Rugged Man,Berverly Osu. by Cornel88(m): 6:10am On Oct 13, 2013 |
Everybody knows Big Brother Africa star, Beverly Osu isn’t a virgin or a girl who would pretend guys are never on her diary but then she doesn’t also come across as a girl with a serial dates history, that is, If you are going to accept 2shot and Angelo being too familiar to count. But recently, another name was thrown into the mix to make the nudity-happy Beverly a suspect as one of those ‘willing damsels’ when she was caught in a compromised position with none other than Ruggedman, at the rapper’s birthday held at Lounge 68 in Surulere, a couple of nights ago. Though there were many stars on show at the exclusive bash but Beverly and Ruggedman were running the show and rubbing it on people’s faces like they were a song together. Though Ruggedman denied anything going on between him and Beverly, saying he only got to know her when she was running along with 2shot. When quizzed if he was aware of any abuse on the BBA star by 2shot, the rapper said he would not have any knowledge of such development. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/10/rugged-man-beverly-osu/ |
Politics / "I Won't Revisit N5,000 Note"- Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. by Cornel88(m): 5:31am On Oct 13, 2013 |
On the failed attempt by the CBN to introduce the N5000 currency note into the Nigerian economy, the Mallam Sanusi said even though he was convinced that it made economic sense to print the higher denomination, he would not revisit the matter. Said he, “ On 5000 Naira note I have said I would not revisit. I made all the arguments at the time I made them. You have had inflation in double digits for a very long time, this has weakened the purchasing power of the national currency and therefore means you are carrying much more currency than you need to carry to carry out your transaction. “You go to an ATM, you want N100,000 you have to take 100 notes, those notes have a cost and printing those notes you are paying for the paper, paying for the security features, paying for transportation and paying for security while transporting them. And then the CBN is going to pay for destruction of those notes (when they become old and tattered”. “People got up and made statements, professional institutions, accountants, saying ‘this is inflationary.” I don’t know when accountants became economists, I don’t know when changing denomination became the same as increasing money supply, but in a country in which the decisions are not taken based on the soundness of an argument but on sentiments, I can’t help it. If Nigerians would rather carry Ghana- must- go bags on their backs, that is fine. If they would rather we continue pending money printing these notes, that is fine. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/10/sanusi-insists-naira-dollar-transfers-says-wont-re-visit-n-5000-note/ |

Yes! Got you! My subject is carring "help" instead of "advice" for a speciall reason. Lol... Now on a serious note, I have been working in a law firm (publication section) since 2009, and as a young, my salary is managable. At the same time, i'm a ND part-time student of yabatech (accountancy). After my ND, it will be my I.T. year, and that year will be a though year for me in times of decision making, whether, like some of my co-worker, i will continue working in the law firm and get paid, and ask the accountant to frame an I.T. letter for me, which i'll present to my school. Or leave my law firm job for probably an accounting related firm (to get little or no pay) for I.T., and gain experience in my field. Please Nairalanders, I know how, matured, experienced, reasonable most of us are here, so I plead that you treat me case as your brothe, son, friend's etc, case and give me a considerable advice with reason(s) on this. Thanks. Front page please. |

Nairaland / General / How Sharing Formula Stalled Sunday Mba's Bastia Deal. by Cornel88(m): 3:18am On Sep 04, 2013 |
After failing to secure a move to Europe, the midfielder returned to Abuja on Monday. Goal reveals what went down in France and why the player’s progress has now been stalled GOAL EXCLUSIVE Goal can authoritatively reveal that it was sheer greed on the part of Nigerian club officials that cost Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Mba the opportunity of kick- starting his professional football career in France with modest French Ligue 2 club CA Bastia in a two- year-deal said to be worth around €1 million. The fans of Bastia had thronged out to welcome the Africa Cup of Nations hero to their city when he arrived last week. They screamed his name every time he was seen through the window of his hotel room: “We love Sunday Mba” and “Welcome to Bastia Sunday Mba, we love you,” they shouted. He had begun to feel at home. But the hope of having the 25-year-old play for their darling club ebbed near European transfer deadline day when the midfielder left France when he realised that forces beyond him would not allow him make progress. Mba jetted back to the country on Monday and moved to the Metropolitan Hotel Camp of the Super Eagles in Calabar on Tuesday after his Bastia deal was thrown to the trash can by the Warri Wolves officials and other two prominent partners involved in the deal. Goal discovered from a prominent contact who was privy to the contract and it was discovered that the sharing of the €150,000 involved as transfer fee was the major cause of the deal not materializing in the first place. Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi allegedly demanded for €50,000 from the deal which Warri Wolves boss Amaju Pinnick perceived was too much and believed that the remaining €100,000 won’t be enough for him and Emmanuel Ibru, who was also involved in the sale of the player, to share. Ibru was involved in the controversial transfer of late Super Eagles defender Olubayo Adefemi before he joined Skoda Xanthi. They all disagreed on Mba putting pen to paper for Bastia unless the transfer fee was jacked up to at least €600,000 so that they could have enough to go share. The player, though not happy, couldn’t help the situation. According to a close friend of his, Mba sobbed uncontrollably in his hotel in France because he had already started feeling at home in Bastia as a result of love and affection shown to him by Bastia fans. Goal can also authoritatively reveal the terms of agreement Mba could have signed with Bastia as follows: If Bastia gains promotion to Ligue 1, they have the right to buy Sunday Mba at a preferential price of €800,000 minus the amount they have already paid while a bonus of €100,000 will be given to Warri Wolves, Mba’s club. Also a partnership deal of 2 years will be agreed between the two clubs (Bastia and Warri Wolves) to organize friendly games and trials at Bastia for the best players of Warri Wolves. This agreement will work at the moment they maintain their place in the league or get promoted and the contract can be renewed every 2 years. The player also cannot be sold for less than €800,000. In the case where he is sold on to another club, Warri Wolves would be given 50 per cent of the fees. In case the player is injured for more than 4 months, Bastia have the right to release him and have to give him back to Warri Wolves without asking for their money back and don't have to pay the rest of the money due. In case CA Bastia get relegated, Sunday Mba will go back to Warri Wolves as being specified in the contract that Mba couldn’t sign. With the failure of Mba to move to Europe this summer, it is yet to be seen how this would affect the career of the player who helped Nigeria to victory at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4078/exclusives/2013/09/03/4235297/revealed-how-sharing-formula-stalled-sunday-mbas-bastia-deal?ICID=OP |
