Last week, two NYSC corps members were caught having sex.

They were caught having sex in a gutter in the Plateau camp (hey, when you gotta go, you've gotta go). The two corps members were dismissed from camp.

The only issue I see here is that the female corps member is married. Her conduct goes against the vows she took in the presence of God. Apart from this, I do not see the crime here.

If you go through the NYSC website, sex isn't listed as one of the many offences that will get you kicked out of camp. Smoking and getting drunk can get you decamped among other things. Sex isn't outlawed out rightly.

The reality is this- if you are found having sex on campus premises you will get decamped. Why is this an unwritten rule? If you are kicking out fully grown adults for having sex at least it should be written in black and white.

The Nigerian attitude towards sex is very conservative and impractical. The NYSC orientation requires graduates to be in camp for 21 days as part of their service to the fatherland. In these 21 days, the fact that authorities think that adults won't have sex is both laughable and sad.

Our attitude towards sex is hypocritical. We choose to believe that everyone has sex after marriage but common knowledge and data suggest otherwise. Consenting adults shouldn't have to hide inside a gutter before they have sex. You have healthy, young people in a camp for three weeks, of course, they are meant to have sex.

There are so many camp stories of grown men and women hiding in bushes just to have sex. This is not Iran. People shouldn't be punished because they have sex.

In NYSC camps, there are sex education talks about HIV/AIDS and the corps members are given condoms but they are not allowed to have sex. What gives? This is very confusing.

You can come from the religious angle and say it is fornication or sexual immorality. Christianity is the religion of one man and one God. Let God judge the people committing sin. Jesus did not die for holier-than-thou Christians to judge others.

Sex is a normal human function. Adults shouldn't be punished for it. Religion and morality should not intertwine with the state. Young Nigerians are serving their country and should not be judged on an altar of conservatism and religious values.

I went through the article and i smiled because it contains a lot of errors. or even claim its just an empty article. I would have said fallacies, but that would be too deep.

Let me quickly highlight some faults in the article:

If you can agree that having sex outside marriage is an offence to God, the last time i checked, fornication or sex before marriage is against God's will too.

This is funny. You should not steal, You should not fight, you should not rape, you should not insult officials, you should not jump camp fence, and other rules should be included on NYSC website because our brother want all laws to be written.

There some moral behaviors that a mature graduate who passed through Primary school, second school and an higher institution should use his head about. You don't say because its not on NYSC website, then its allowed.

NYSC service is all about sacrifices. Even some animals can stay more than 21 days without sex. Stop talking like its a food.

Very funny. You meet someone within 3 weeks and sex is your next way to prove you are in love. Even if you have known or been dating the person before, if you don't have sex at orientation camp you are not going to go flat. Having sex during orientation camp is an act that should not be encouraged. Our ladies, you worth more than that.

Let me drop my pen by saying, National Youth Service Corps is not meant to children or an half baked graduate. (10 Signs That You Are A Half Baked Graduate). NYSC is meant to mature adults who are controlled by their rationality and not controlled by either condom or things under the skirt.

That article on Pulse.ng by Tayo should be burnt to ashes and the ashes should be used to cover Dog shit, because thats where it belongs. No beefing, this is just an intellectual masturbation.

When Exactly Is NYSC 2017 Batch A Stream II Going To Camp is a question that most Stream II members want an answer to. I had already talked about it in a previous topic but you know, when people are eager or really want to find out about something, they just need more explanation about the stuff.

So I made this video to explain to everyone out there who want to know the exact date that Stream II will go to camp.

The Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, has rewarded three Corps members for returning large sums of money found at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Benue State.

They are Eno Sunday Jesam (BN/17A/1536), Ezenwa Chidera (BN/17A/1718), and Timothy Deborah Elewechi (BN/17A/2233).

Presenting them to the Director-General during his visit to the camp, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Eno Awak Essien, said Jesam found and returned N27,500 to the Camp Management while Chidera returned N17,000 and Elewechi, N10,750.

In a quick reaction, Kazaure presented cash-filled envelopes to the trio as reward for their demonstration of honesty. He was full of praises for them, while urging other Corps members to emulate them.

The Director-General said the gesture of the three Corps members had further strengthen his hope in Nigerian youth and the future of the country.

“I am sure this country will change during your time; so keep up the tempo. “From what I have seen, we are surely going to have in you leaders that are corrupt-free,” Kazaure added. He enjoined the Corps members to be patriotic, and to always give their best wherever they found themselves.

The Director-General cautioned them against engagement in cyber crimes, dealings in illicit drugs and other vices. Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator Mrs. Eno AwakEssien, had said 2,241 Corps members were registered in the camp, and described them as disciplined. She also praised the team spirit among camp officials, saying it contributed to the successes recorded in the camp.

AwakEssien appealed to the Director-General to approve the procurement of a 150 KVA power generator for the camp to help address the problem of epileptic supply from the national grid.

Am thinking they should be offered a Job and not some cash..... what do you think?

5 Reasons Why You should not Carry Your Laptop To NYSC Camp

You are so excited after seeing your name on the Senate list. And you are thinking of taking your Laptop with you to orientation camp for more fun.

It will be good if you can take in your laptop with you. You can see movies, take some video clips or numerous pictures and copy them on your system for space on the memory card. You could do a lot of stuffs and stunts with your laptop.
I did not deny that. However, it is not wise or advisable to carry your laptop to Orientation camp.
Here are 5 reasons why you should not take your Laptop to NYSC Camp.

[color=maroon]1.You will not be allowed to take it in.[/color]
Laptops are not allowed in camp. You cannot just take it in. When you arrived at the orientation camp, the soldiers at the gate will search your bag thoroughly. You might be asked to bring out everything inside the bag. If a laptop is discovered, am so sorry with what might follow.

[color=maroon]2. It can disappear[/color]
Suppose you take the laptop inside. Here is what you should know. Your laptop can disappear
Yes it can disappear. Remember you are on camp with people who had BSc or BA in Stealing.
Don't think everybody is a responsible graduate. In fact you would ask I some people are on camp to steal.
Things can disappear anyhow. Before you know that someone is trying to steal from you, your property I gone already.

[color=maroon]3. You will not have time for it[/color]
NYSC orientation camp is fixed. Fixed time, fixed fun. You will not have time for it. You go for morning parade as early as 5am. About an hour after Morning parade, you are called for breakfast. After breakfast, you go for the next activities to the next activities...... till 10pm light out.

Apart from fixed activities, orientation camp is too fun to sit in a corner with your laptop. You meet friends, meet beautiful girls you wanna spend time with.
You might want to share your experience on Corpers Forum, make new friends and more. Taking your Laptop with you would be a mistake.

[color=maroon]4. Protecting It Is Almost Impossible[/color]
If you think NYSC orientation camp would be some Self contain apartment and a place of comfort, you are on your own. About 50-100 people inside a hostel is not really a comfort I think.

The waist purse is the only way to secure your valuable properties and you laptop cannot fit inside a wait purse. Maybe there are no Cupboards or wardrobes where you will be posted to so protecting or monitoring your laptop for 3 weeks would almost be impossible.
Instead of inconveniencing yourself with a laptop, share your experiences on Corpers Forum for others to read. It's just once in a life time.

Congratulations, you have been posted to a state. You have been officially deployed by NYSC to a place you will spend the next 11 months to serve your Father land.

The mixed feelings by Prospective Corp Members towards the state of deployment is a normal thing and it has been existing for a very long time. If you had cried over your call-Up letter or refused to eat, it's a normal thing.

Here are 7 Unknown Facts About Your NYSC State Of Deployment

1. It's not what you think
Your NYSC State Of Deployment is not what you think at all. In fact what you think you know about the state can be all wrong.
About this time last year, I was printed my call-up letter and I saw Plateau State.

The first thing I did was that I searched for Plateau on google. You know what I saw on the front page?... I saw the 2002 Bombing, 2007 religious Crises, killing, dead bodies and more things I was expecting.

I came to camp with the intention that I would redeploy back to South West. But when I got there, I discovered that everything I thought I knew about Plateau State was wrong. Although there was a point they were valid, but now, there is peace.

Many of you guys would be like me. Thinking all sort of bad things about the state just because you do not want or like the place.
So cut it dear reader..... all what you are thinking can be all wrong.

2. It's not what people are saying either
Another 7 Unknown Facts About Your NYSC State Of Deployment is that it's not what people are telling you.
My Sister Evelyn, sent me this message on Facebook:

"Bro, I was posted to Jigawa, am not happy. Because of distance, my neighbor told me that i will spend close to 3 days on the road. Boko Haram and Sharia Law..."

I was laughing out loud but I can't let her know because she was so serious.
Many of you are like her. People around you who have never been to where you are posted will say a lot of film tricks and fictions. Do not let their super stories scare you. Because the state you are posted to is not what they think either.

3. There are Corp Members where you are posted to
Many of you guys would talk as if you will be the first Corper posted to the history of where you are going. The fact is, you will not be the first or the last to serve where you are posted to.

4. You are not alone.
Just like Liverpool slang, you are not alone in this. You are not the only one posted to the state. So why panic. To know the fact that you are not alone is a courageous moral... So now that you know that you are not the only one, you should calm down and be happy.

5. There are no bad states.
That's a fact that you should know. You do not need to fix your mentality claiming some states are bad. Many of you who think if you are not posted to Lagos or Abuja, you have been posted to a bad state should stop that.
Anywhere you are posted, you can make it a great deal. You can make the best out of your service year.

6. You shall not die
Many people think Lagos or Abuja is the United States white house. People can die anywhere. No where is safe. Death is not your portion and you shall not die In Jesus Name. You will serve in peace.
So many of you thinking everywhere is not safe except the states you were born and brought up.
You shall not die. So do not think where you are posted to will hasten your death or whatever.
Be happy and be a motivation to people.

7. You might get married and settle down after NYSC
Most people grumble and murmur about their state of deployment at first. But along the line, they would fall in love with the state, fall in love with a girl, get a Job or start a business and finally settle down without even going back to where they came from.

You can really make it anywhere. Do not limit yourself. My dear readers, note those 7 Facts and be happy for wherever you are posted.
You might fall in love with the state after NYSC Orientation camp.

Some are happy why some are not too happy because they were not posted to Lagos or Abuja.

However, some hungry Nigerians have made it their Job to extort and scam as many PCMs as possible using redeployment as an advantage.

These scammers are aware that you as a Prospective Corp Member is desperate to redeploy from the state you are posted. Most people will act funny when desperate. They know that you are desperate and they will hammer on that weakness.

Do not fall for the scam! You are smarter than that. You are not too desperate not to think straight.

Most of the time, they spread their messages in whatsapp groups and also via Private messages

They will assure you that they will work your posting for you and then you will pay them and that's the end of Solomon Grandy.
And then, Boom!! Sorry!! You have been Scammed.

There are normal redeployment processes and if you have a good reason, you will be redeployed. You do not need to contact anyone or pay anybody for redeployment.

Am so sure many PCMs who falls among 2017 batch A stream II are curious about when they are likely to go to Camp. Here is a working answer.

Firstly, do not feel bad that you fall in Stream II. Its not a bad thing. It gives you a space to prepare and even make more money. Stream II is good. he who laugh last, laugh best. In fact, you are lucky.

to the question When Is NYSC 2017 Batch A Stream II Going To camp?, i have an answer.

NOTE: There is no official date yet, but we can calculate based on experience.

The 2017 Batch A Stream I will resume to camp on the 23rd of this month. The orientation camp will last for 3 weeks and 2 days probably. The camp would need a week or two to be thoroughly cleaned for Stream II to make use of. If the same camp can accommodate both Stream I & II, there wouldn't have been room for Streams in the first place. But since the facility cannot take everybody, you have to allow Stream I finish their camping then Stream II will use the same camp.

So approximately, 3 weeks of the Stream I camping plus a week or two to clean the camp and make it ready for use. That's about a month.

So working with our calculation, 2017 Batch A Stream II are likely to go for Orientation camp in about a month.

While you wait for your Junior ones to go and sample the camps, you should REGISTER for free here and keep reading gists and camp experiences.

NYSC Official Call-Up Letter Sample is way of showing the Otondos, how a call-up letter look like.... do not be deceived, So many fraudulent hungry people are out to take any chance of taking advantages on you especially when they know you are new to the system.

You should know so that when that cafe man gives you something else and call it a call up letter, you will tell him you know what a call up letter looks like.

You might want to ask that why would a cafe man do that?... i don't have an answer either.....

I erased my name and my handsome face from the letter intentionally. Yours would carry your name and your passport.

I learnt that Call Up letter will be out tomorrow. And quickly to avoid unnecessary mistakes, I would want to give you some tips on how to package yourself to the Orientation camp so that you don’t get confused all the time.

Before you continue, you should make sure you read 7 Things You Should Never Do To Your NYSC Documents

So by this time tomorrow, you would probably have been deployed and you would have known where you are going to. To give you a head start and you don’t keep asking what next. Here are 10 Things to Do after You Get Your Call-Up Letter


1. All You Need to Print your call up letter is the email you used in Registering at the NYSC portal and your Password. (I doubt if NYSC will send your call-up to your email). You might want to check my previous post 6 Simple Steps to print Your Call Up letter (Batch A 2017 PCMs)


2. Print the Original copy, (twice) make 5 photocopies as you would need to submit some duplicates at camp. (MAKE Photocopies of All your documents because it's expensive in camps)

3. Rearrange your documents. What you need to take with you are : CALLUP LETTER, GREEN CARD,
STATEMENT OF RESULT OR ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE, PASSPORT, ID CARD and others
NUMBER, please make sure your statement of result carries your school stamp and not a fake one.

4. Put all these documents in a water resistant file and seal properly. DO NOT LAMINATE YOUR
GREEN CARD OR CALLUP LETTER. I already talked about it extensively. You might want to check 7 Things You Should Never Do To Your NYSC Documents

5. Pack few stuffs please. Don't give yourself unnecessary stress. Basic things to pack should be YOUR WHITES,WHITE SHORT,WHITE TENNIS SHOES, TOUCH,TORCHLIGHT, MOSQUITO NET,ONE
OR TWO CASUAL WEARS, SOAP, ANTI-MALARIA DRUGS, BED SPREAD, DETERGENT, CREAM, POWER BANK, CASH AND ATM CARD, SOCKS, ETC... You should read Things Needed In NYSC Orientation Camps

You don't need much loads. Because after camp, you are given 3 weeks terminal leave from your
PPA. Which you are go home and get set for your primary assignment.

6. Find people you are posted to same state, state create a WhatsApp group and talk about when to
Leave and how to go. If anyone suits your schedule you both can meet up at the Bustop and move. That is why this group is created. Once you get your call-up letter. Indicate the state you are posted to here and meet up with people of same state.

7. PLEASE check your date of deployment very well to avoid mistakes.

8. Safety, a lot of Corp members have gone due to road accident and the likes. You really don't have
to blame NYSC. Our transportation system is messed up. Look carefully at the bus you are to
Travel with and know the kind of driver that is going to drive you and MOST ESPECIALLY PRAY TOO. Prayer always work.

9. Be happy and positive. The country economy cannot decide your happiness. You don’t have to think about thousands of unemployed youths out there. You do not have to think about your past. This is another phase of your life and you should face it with courage. You are a man. This is your chance to prove you can be a positive change.
