The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said its 2016 Batch B, Stream 2 Corps members will be passing out Thursday, December 21, 2017.
The corps said on its official Twitter account page on Wednesday that certificates of National Service will be distributed to deserving corps members at zonal office levels across the country.

The Batch B Stream two Corp members were in orientation camps between January 21 to February 14, 2017.

2016 BATCH B’ STREAM II TO PASS OUT THURSDAY

The Management of the National Youth Service Corps has fixed Thursday, 21st December, 2017 for the Winding up/Passing out activities of the 2016 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members Nationwide.

The Winding up/Passing-out activities will be low-keyed with the distribution of Certificate of National Service to deserving Corps Members at the Zonal Office Level.
Management wishes to commend and thank all Corps Members for their Selfless Service, Dedication, Resilience, Patriotism to the nation and patience while awaiting the official passing out date.

However, we also wish to admonish Corps Members on their comments and posts in the social media on issues relating to the scheme and advice that, being abusive and deployment of wrong use of words does not reflect responsible attitude and behaviour.

It is worthwhile to reflect our collective attribute of role models for the youths being responsible graduates who had been found worthy in character and learning in the various citadels of excellence.

Management wishes to thank you for your various contributions in fostering national unity and development and wish you all journey mercies as you return to your respective destinations.

I think the waiting seems to have been over after a circular was released on the Date about the NYSC 2016 Batch B Stream II Winding up and passing out parade.

Earlier today, several Corp members from some states have been receiving their double allowances and this is very encouraging because the payment of final allowance is an indication that the passing out parade programme is around the corner.

After the NYSC management claimed that the viral passing out parade circular that was all on air last week was fake, they have been quiet again on the issue of the exact date.

We have received tons and tons of mail from gallant Corps members asking us any update about the passing out date. Even though some are raining Curses and childish statements as if Corpers Forum is NYSC.

I really understand these Corp members waiting for the date of their POP. Its really not something good from the side of NYSC. These people have served mandatorily and after the stipulated time, they are being delayed from moving forward in their life.

Some have plans to go for masters, some have plans to start a business, some have plans to get a job and some does not even have a plan at all.

NYSC Official Reply To The 2016 Batch B Stream II Winding Up/ Passing Out Date

The NYSC management has released an official statement concerning the NYSC 2016 Batch B Stream II Winding up/Passing out date that went viral after it was published on Corpers Forum.

Corpers Forum confirmed the circular from 3 different LGIs (Local Government Inspectors) and they told us that the date is true. Only to call them back and all we could hear is excuses.

NYSC is not really acting fair here. These gallant people have served their father land and delaying their POP or keeping the public in the dark is not a good way to reward them. The next thing should be their POP date being released.

Releasing the orientation course date for 2017 batch B stream II is doing the right thing at the wrong time.

Doing the right thing at the wrong time makes the right thing wrong. NYSC please fix this.

"RE: 2016 BATCH 'B' STREAM II WINDING UP/PASSING-OUT DATE

The Management of National Youth Service Corps wishes to state that the information in circulation, that it has fixed Passing-Out date for 2016 Batch 'B' Stream ll Corps Members for Thursday 21st December, 2017, is false.

The general public, most especially our esteemed Corps Members and distinguished stakeholders should disregard the purported circular.

We are using this medium to commend our Corps Members nationwide, for their patience, spirit of patriotism and selfless services through socio-economic development of their various host communities.

Hello my dear Gallant 2016 stream II Corp members, hope you are doing fine and not too angry about the silence of NYSC management over your passing out parade date.

I am here to tell you 3 facts why your passing out parade has been delayed.

1. The Orientation camp in Progress.

This is probably the major reason why NYSC is not talking about 2016 Batch B Stream II passing out parade date. All the officials that are needed for the passing out ceremony are in various camps across the country. The LI and major officials needed to be present for giving of certificates and other things during the signing out are all busy at the moment as orientation camp is still in progress.

2. To Avoid a Fatal Mistake like last stream

NYSC lost millions of naira during the 2016 Batch B Stream I passing out month. Which is last month, November and that's why some probably are still not paid until recently.

The mistake was that, the NYSC management idea was to rush 2016 Batch B Stream I POP so that NYSC 2017 Batch B Stream I would go to camp.

So, the people in charge of allowance payments over paid thousands of Corp members up to 4 months instead of just 2 months.
An you know Nigerian youths are so smart in cases like that. Before it could be corrected, many have withdrawn all the money from their bank account. Making the loss permanent.

This time around, the rushing idea is not going to be applied. That's why NYSC is taking their time to take a step at a time.

3. The date will be out after Orientation camp.

The NYSC 2017 Batch B Stream I will leave orientation camp on the 11th of December 2017.

After they are through with their camp, NYSC management would conduct a passing out parade for 16B stream II.
We are all hoping, that by next week, by the grace of God, the date will be out and you guys would walk out of NYSC with honour.

The 2016 Batch B Stream I passed out early this Nov 2017, and since then the Stream II has been hoping for the official release of their own passing out parade also.

The passing out parade for stream II is supposed to be just be few weeks after the stream I POP. But as we can see, its already after 3 weeks that the 2016 batch B stream I passed out and still not date for the Stream II POP.

While the NYSC 2017 batch B stream 1 and 2 Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) are anticipating the date for their online registration and subsequently, date for their orientation camp and commencement of service year, NYSC 2017 batch B service year cannot commence when the current NYSC 2016 batch B stream 1 and 2 are still serving. 2016 batch B have to pass out first because they are the one to be replaced by 2017 batch b.

NYSC 2016 batch B stream 1 and 2 Corps Members have to completed their service year and do their Passing out Parade (POP) or Collection of Certificate (CoC) before the NYSC 2017 batch B stream 1 and 2 PCMs start theirs.
