Please who has more detailed experience about zero deposit here. Senior tenants or retired tenants. Landlords or senior owner of land

If you are citizen or have ILR it’s doable. Il advise you reach out to mortgage advisors. Most of them will give you this advice for free and you will get more information and ESIS - like mortgage illustration. I got free advice by registering on Taylor’s website. Got all my calculations done and application for Mortgage in principle too.

Infact, I only just found out that Barclays is like the only bank that lends to individuals on Tier2 visa with 10% deposit. The others want at least 25% deposit.

I know I only come here once in a while but cheers to everyone that shares important information on this thread. You are treasured!

Any data professional in the building, would love to connect. Plus is there a thread or even forum network for Black Data professionals in the UK?

I have recently ported from project management to a core data quality role (did MSc.data science) so need to overcome my imposter syndrome and be confident in my dealings with ‘onyibo’ and colleagues.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by corpershun: 4:43pm On Aug 11, 2023
My mom’s visa is out - Standard Application
Biometrics- 2nd of August 2023
Collection mail - 10th August 2023
TLS VI - visa collected today. We said date of travel for end of month but the Vo decided to put 15th as start date🤦‍♀️

What I submitted:

So, I was initially updating the document one by one, but I felt it was going to confuse the VO and decided to merge them based on the check list that was provided after visa application.
I created a Table of Contents in the first page for each checklist and listed the document and the page number.
I used I love PDF to merge all the docs with the table of content, it was work but I think it made the application very straightforward. In all I submitted 7 Pdf files

1. Evidence of Ties to Home Country – proof of ties to home country
— Letter of Visa Application by my mom where she declared what she does and what she is coming to do in the UK as well as declaration to abide by the laws of the land in terms of no recourse to public funds. In the Letter, she stated relationship between herself and the sponsor.
— Attestation Letter from her Parish Vicar
— Attestation Letter from where she currently lectures part time (note that I stated she was self-employed in the application)
— Attestation Letter from Late husband’s workplace and how long they have known her
— Land documents/ Receipt of Properties
— Pictures of my mom at Work and with other siblings in Nigeria ( I used Microsoft to build a template where I inserted pictures and stated what each of them was and where they were taken including the date they were taken)

2. Evidence of funds available to you
— Merged Bank statements of my mom’s personal accounts, created a table of content for each statement.
This was my biggest fear, cos during application, I asked my mom what she feels is her annual income and she said 500K, only for her to print statement and one statement had inflow of 6million+ with outflow of 5.9million, 6 months statement oh. Balance was 174,000 naira. I shock.
Her other statement too – inflow of 300,000 and outflow of also 260,000+ under 6 months. Summary is as she gets money, she distributes to different people as a good Samaritan that she is.
I questioned her and she said Nigeria is tough, she cannot have and not help people that come to her for help. Okay ngwanu,
*I didn’t include any letter of explanation because I didn’t want to draw any attention to it since she was being fully sponsored. And cos I filled 60k as her monthly expense in the application but was seeing expenses of over 250k in a month from her statement. SMH!
— Land document and Property receipt to show ownership (I also didn’t explain anything)

3. Evidence that Sponsor is not in breech of UK Immigration laws. – This also had a table of contents and page number of every doc in it
— BRP (back and front scans of me and my spouse’s BRB)
— International Passports data pages
— Visa Approval Letter from UKVI

4. Evidence of Support from Sponsor – Letter of invitation
— Letter of invitation stating how we were solely funding the visit, confirming relationship, current workplace, residential address, financial competence and stating that she wouldn’t pose as a financial burden to the UK. Attached phone number and email address and wet signed the Letter. (Just One page letter but very straight to the point)

5. Invitation from UK based family/evidence to be in the UK.
I still attached the letter of invitation here.
— Proof of reason why she was coming. – mainly pictures which I labelled all
— Proof of address – utility bill (only water and light)
— Proof of residency status – still attached BRP here too.

6 Evidence of Support from Sponsor
— 6 months merged Bank Statements – me and my spouse labelled each page on the table of content.
— Work employment contract of sponsor
— Payslips to show monthly/weekly income.
I didn’t draft any letter of explanation to explain anything cos the balance on the statements was adequate and transactions were clear.

7. Evidence of Relationship with Sponsor
— Merged – Birth cert showing her and my dad, my baptism cert, my marriage cert, wedding pictures far back where she featured, legal name change of spouse.
— Pictures of different events we have attended together, labelled all using MS word and converted to pdf

Corpershun!!! I’m so glad you are doing great. From our days of endlessly waiting for our student visas to come out. I’m so proud of you! May you get the best of the best smiley

Oh wow…yes I remember you
Wow
Thanks for the encouragement. I swear your advice was similar to a family friend that has been here 10years, so I thought you were an oldie

The man said in Yoruba “you guys will just be picking shift, picking shift and not realize there’s more”
I held his words as gold.

for the 20 hrs, would you be able to choose days you can work?
Yes my line Mgr is really nice
She allowed me choose my days. Tho hinted she’ll love me to come in on days she worked.
Luckily I didn’t have to go to class any longer since it was only project left. I chose Mon - Wed

Im not sure

Would have asked but she has left for internship but the job was with NHS. Not sure how she went about it but she did tell me she was on 20 hrs / week and i didnt want to be a busybody grin
Yes you can, so my friend got a job with them 20hours Data Analyst, working 20 hours. I asked her how? But she stated she just applied. You know Nigerians nah.
I didn’t probe any further.
Fast forward to June after coursework, I decided to test the labour market again cos I stopped in Feb due to rejections as per 20hours restrictions.

My first application and boom, it’s NHS, I didn’t mention anything about visa until I was offered the role and they needed right to work proof.
I was scared and almost didn’t bother as they wanted FT.
Could you believe I resumed in Aug and worked 20hours until my school approved me working FT in October after I submitted my project in September.
Now, they can’t offer COS for my role as it’s not permanent but my line Mgr showed me how to apply for some roles that offer COS and she’s been so helpful. Practically registered me on some platforms etc.

So information is vital and Amarathripple0 is right.
I am so happy for The experience I gained this past months and encouraged a lot of my friends too to apply. I wish I knew, I wouldave had at least 1 year experience now.

People need to be encouraged, believe me, some of us are being so careful especially those of us without healthcare background.
One thing to note is even some Citizens are also laid back, at least I work with them. So it’s okay if you are laid back but know there’s success if you try.
I’ve been job hunting again and it’s much better with the NHS experience on my CV.

Absolutely.

I'm interested in reading your serial job change story. grin

I'd like to think I'm a serial job changer as well. An employer once saw my CV and called me "a rolling stone" during the interview. He said he knew I'd leave them soon. Three months down the line I left. cool

Exploring new territories and roles is always exciting.

I am equally interested too.
Mine is I get bored easily doing same routine job. Currently in the NHS as project support but I am bored but skeptical of how il be seen bouncing from job to job. Good thing I can use the expiration of my student visa as an excuse to leave.
But how do you communicate this to employers. I would love to know

Hi Everyone,

We are launching a platform to help users build projects for your portfolio and to master your craft.

We collaborate with experienced data scientists, data engineers and BI/Data Analysts to compile projects resembling real world projects. We are looking to have a free tier and paid tier. The free tier will give you access to projects, case studies and datasets. The paid tier will give you access to mentor guided projects. You can view multiple videos from our mentors guiding you. The videos walk you through the project problem statement, possible considerations to make, what models you may want to consider etc. In addition to this, you can post questions regarding any challenges you are encountering and receive quick feedback from our mentors. You can collaborate and chat with other users and lastly, if you submit your project you will receive feedback to help you figure out what you need to improve.

Our mentors are experienced data scientists working for big companies across Africa and abroad. We charge a monthly fee of $15 for our paid tier.

Interested to know what people think about this. Granted I haven't shared the link and only just walking you through how it works.

How do you see this platform helping you in becoming/upskilling your data science/data engineering skills
Sounds great.
Especially as experience is the key in this field and one cannot get a job without experience.

This will provide job experience and serve as stepping stone for beginners.

VISA ALERT! VISA ALERT!! VISA ALERT!!!

Finally, it's my turn to testify! My story with UKVI is finally loaded, done and dusted! I've been quite busy since last week to pen this down.
Priority Service, Walk in
Application: 02/09
Biometrics: 03/09
Transfered to DMC: 03/09
Received at DMC: 06/09
NSFM: 08/09
Transfered to VAC: 23/09
Received at VAC: 23/09
Collection mail: 23/09
Collected: 24/09
I went to TLS Ikeja on 02/09/21 to get a space for walkin the next day, even though I haven't even applied for Visa yet, I haven't even gotten my CAS by then! grin grin I requested for my bank statement and got same around 6pm, while at TLS. I forwarded same to my school and received my CAS around 8pm same night. There and then at TLS, I started the application, finished and paid all the fees, got 15/09 as my date but had planned walk in the next day 03/09. My school agent adviced that since I didn't perform any transaction on my day1, I shouldn't use that bank statement as some people were recently refused cos the ECO mistakenly used the dates of transaction instead of the dates stated as the acct summary dates, but I refused and went ahead to use same statement, running from 05/08 to 02/09. After the NSFM and wahala recounted earlier, the waiting was something else. 5working days turned to 15working days. Every day was excruciatingly painful and filled with anxiety, only those who have experienced it will understand. Thanks to @corpershaun, I sent a mail to Pretoria on 22/08 which resulted in getting my collection mail the next day. Truly, what God cannot do does not exist!

Thanks to all who I reached out to during that period.

For those still waiting, just hold your peace and be positive.

DON'T TOUCH YOUR FUNDS TILL YOUR VISA IS OUT OR YOUR ACCOUNT IS VERIFIED, WHICHEVER COMES EARLIER!

Congratulations
So happy for you.
Glad I could help.
Which university are you of to?

This game is just like final PENALTY in soccer.... it's between each goal keeper and the goal post

Penalty happens when scores are a draw.
This is BBN being biased. Now, how I’m I not sure, biggie gave Angel the secret to win when she stayed minutes in the diary room.

I know Pere is a wild card and they didn’t expect him in the finals but luck was on his side.

the show is Fking scripted to fit narratives. Reason why they didn’t evict Saga, they needed to use him make the week interesting.

Please has anyone received collection mail TLS VI. September 14 biometric (priority). Really frustrating when one paid for priority and it's taking forever like standard application. If they can't accommodate priority they should state it, than milking people of their money and at the end your waiting is as good as standard application. Really frustrating.
Mine just moved to VAC
No collection email yet

Thanks, same here and I did my biometrics on the 13th. I wish we could contact TLS for an actual update. I think it’s irresponsible not to have a contact number especially as it looks like there’s a major delay with VI.
Yes they are quite slow with updating. I don’t know maybe the issue they had where individuals rushed into the building overwhelming the gate men could have caused it.
It happened on Monday.

To think we paid an extra 55pounds to the center. I’m unimpressed.

When was your decision made?
