A young man who connived with his wife to fake his own death in a determined bid to extort his family and friends of some money has been busted.





A man identified as Tachawit Janngiw, has used Facebook to fake his own death in a bid to get family members to send money to cover his own funeral costs in Thailand.


According to reports, the man through his wife, posted three photos of his “dead body” on Facebook on Sunday complete with cotton up his nose to make his death look real.
“Last photo before deactivating his Facebook. Love you,” she wrote as she later told concerned friends that her husband had died of cancer and asthma and had been
"pretending" to be ok for a long time.


Coconuts Bangkok reported that Tachawit's wife reportedly called his mother, who lives in Lampang province, demanding cash. The family then wired $590 to her to pay for a coffin and vehicle to take his body back to his hometown.


The family began making funeral arrangements and contacted a temple in preparation for the body arriving the next day. But when the body didn’t arrive, Tachawit’s cousin called his mobile, he picked the call and quickly hung up after realizing who was on the phone.


While speaking to a correspondent, Tachawit’s mother said: “She said she didn’t have money to prepare the body, so I sent her money on that same day.”
According to her, the family has lost $1,800 funeral costs, but she doesn’t bear a grudge against him.

A Nigerian man identified as Rex David, has taken to the social networking platform, Twitter (@asilarex) to reveal to his followers what happened when he returned $3000 mistakenly transferred to him.


The Brussels, Belgium-based young man who shared his story on social media, wrote:
"A lady at Bank of America teller mistakenly transfers $3,000 to my account.


"To cut the long story short, I walk into the bank with a cheque today and the manager couldn’t stop thanking me like she didn’t believe I was coming. And the lady that made the error was almost in tears."

An Arkansas woman has been arrested and charged with capital murder after she admitted to fatally shooting her husband because he repeatedly purchased pornographic videos through their cable provider.
According to a police statement, Patricia Hill , 69, called 911 on Saturday afternoon around 3pm in Jefferson County to report that she had shot her husband Frank Hill , 65.
Responding deputies reportedly found Patricia in the backyard and immediately detained her. Frank's body was found on the floor, having suffered at least two gunshot wounds to the leg and head.
Paramedics transported Frank to the hospital where he was pronounced dead around 3.15pm.
Patricia was taken into custody, where she revealed that she and Frank had gotten into a disagreement when she noticed he had purchased pornographic videos through their cable provider.
According to her, she cancelled that order but later discovered Frank had placed it again.
'Mrs Hill stated that she entered the shed and asked her husband to leave but he refused. Mrs Hill admitted that she then returned inside the residence, where she armed herself with a .22 caliber pistol.
'She went back to the shed a short time later, where she entered and shot her husband twice, striking him once in the leg and once in the head.
'Immediately following the shooting, Mrs Hill stated that she returned inside the residence, where she returned the weapon and called 911 to report the shooting.'
Hill is currently being held without bail Saturday at the
Jefferson County jail.

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, says choosing Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress saved the party from an impending catastrophe.
Okorocha said in spite of the turbulence currently facing the APC, with Oshiomhole in the saddle, the party would land at a safe destination.


In a statement in Owerri on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha said had they foreseen the current gale of defections rocking the party, the proponents of tenure elongation for Oshiomhole’s predecessor, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, would have thought otherwise.
He said the challenges currently facing the party had shown the wisdom in electing Oshiomhole as the national chairman.
Okorocha said, “One could easily imagine what would have been the case if the party had allowed the Oyegun-led NWC to continue and what would have happened at the party’s primaries especially that of the presidency.
“What is happening in the party now could not have been planned and executed within these few weeks Oshiomhole took over as the national chairman of the party. Rather, his coming only altered the plan of those who wanted to destroy APC to serve personal interests.
According to him, the campaign for tenure elongation for Odigie-Oyegun was an arrangement to short-change President Muhammadu Buhari at the APC presidential primary for 2019.
He added, “Oshiomhole’s coming was timely. He came at the appropriate time. He is on it and will get it right. All we need to do is to support him.”

French president Emmanuel Macron has been forced to deny claims his fired bodyguard was his lover. Alexandre Benalla, 26, was sacked after footage emerged of him wearing a police helmet and beating up protesters.

Critics slammed Macron for waiting two months before dismissing Benalla, claiming he was still living in his official residence even after being suspended.



Some websites have even suggested there was more to the pair’s relationship.

But speaking to MPs in Paris, Mr Macron, 40, said: “The person responsible for all this is in front of you. Alexandre Benalla never had any nuclear codes.“He never had an apartment. Alexandre Benalla was never my lover.”

Mr Macron, married to Brigitte, 65, since 2007, has seen his popularity nosedive since the scandal erupted.

He called Benalla’s actions a “disappointment and a betrayal” but added: “We have a press that no longer seeks the truth.

Governor bdullahi Ganduje, of Kano State have on Friday, opened up on the recent defection of Rabi'u Kwankwaso from the ruling All Progressive Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party.
While speaking during an interview with reporters at his office on Friday, Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, said that the recent defection of a former governor of the state, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, and lawmakers from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) will not affect the party’s chances politically.
According to PREMIUM Times, the APC chieftain said he was not personally bothered by the exit of his political rival.
He said; “We are not scared by their exit. Their defection doesn’t constitute any havoc to our great party, the APC, at all levels. People should keep eyes (open) to what will happen during election.
“Our dear President has been doing the needful in terms of developing the nation, coupled with his efforts in efficient service delivery. Good governance is at its peak. The war against corruption is successfully being waged.”
He also said Kwankwaso’s exit will not be felt in the state: “I want you to go and study the situation on ground in Kano, his (Kwankwaso) defection does not change the political mood in the state. Nobody cares to be disturbed by their action,” Ganduje said.
The governor said when his predecessor was in the APC “his intention was to vie for presidency. But when it appeared to him, in black and white, that there is no vacancy in the Villa, he now decided to leave on his own.”
He said Kwankwaso should be ready to battle it out at the polls next year. “When he secures a presidential ticket from the party he cross carpets to, then he should wait and see how we can slug it out with him. He will fully understand how popular and loveable our President Muhammadu Buhari is.
“Kano will give more votes to our President, than what he got in 2015 election. From the 2015 election to date, those who could not vote because of age limit, are now grown up, meaning they will now be eligible to vote. Hence, Buhari stands the chance to get 5 million votes from Kano,” he said.

It has been reported that a truck driver and his assistant are currently on the run after they 'disappeared' from sight when their vehicle crushed a pregnant woman to death along the Jabi/Airport Road, Abuja.
According to Punch Metro, it was learnt that an unnamed man was also killed in the accident which occurred on Thursday evening.
Bystanders told Punch Metro that the deceased persons were attempting to board a taxi on the side of the road when the truck rammed into them and dragged them into the gutter.
An eyewitness, Musa Abdullahi, told Punch Metro that the truck, which was conveying granite, lost control before crushing its victims.
He said, “The accident occurred around 4pm. The truck driving towards the airport road lost control. Instead of swerving towards the right which would have led to no casualties, he swerved towards oncoming traffic.
“A pregnant woman who was trying to board a green cab along with a man was hit by the truck. The truck rammed into the taxi and they all fell into a gutter. The pregnant woman and the man died on the spot while the taxi driver was injured.
“The driver of the truck and his motor boy (assistant) immediately fled the scene,” he narrated.
Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps and emergency officials were said to have conveyed the corpses to the mortuary.
An FRSC official told our correspondent that it was likely that the truck experienced a brake failure but it was too soon to know the exact cause. The Corps Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the incident.

Joy Alueze Bassey, alleged that Chimaobi, aka One Billion Chimaobi, stabbed her brother Nnamdi Booley Bassey, from Afikpo, to death in Senegal and escaped. She added that his whereabouts remain unknown.

President Buhari has frowned at Nigerians always linking police invitation of high ranking politicians to him.

In a statement released by his media aide, Garba Shehu, President Buhari said he does not in anyway interfere in the proceedings of security agencies. Read the statement below

The Presidency has taken note of the orchestrated campaign against President Muhammadu Buhari each time a Very Important Person (VIP) is invited by the law enforcement agencies, in the discharge of their legitimate duties and functions.

The law of the land is intended for all, not for the poor or those at the lowest rungs of the social ladder.

It is odd, strange and bizarre that while ordinary citizens can be called up to answer questions or be interrogated, the VIP cannot be questioned without the annoying insinuations of partisanship, persecution or outright politicization.

This country cannot achieve development in peace when important cases are viewed through a political prism and the law is considered as being applicable to some, and not applicable to others.

The workings of law enforcement agencies are set out in the constitution and the laws of the country. If they worked at the discretion of past presidents, who decided who to question and who to detain, Nigerians should get used to the fact that this President is different. President Buhari does not and will not influence or interfere with cases.

The constitution clearly directs law enforcement agencies to promptly report and investigate any actual or potential infringement of the law and also initiate proceedings against all those involved.
This President is not the one who directs them on what to do.

President Buhari does not stand in the way of law enforcement either. Under our constitution, he has no powers to stop the investigation of anyone or institution. When they are set to investigate anything and anyone, the best friend of the law is the one who lets them do their work.

The President’s constant refrain is that he will not tolerate any form of illegality including corruption and the law enforcement agencies have been given complete freedom to identify and bring all culprits to justice. His instructions to them are very clear: Anyone with a case to answer or found guilty should not be spared.

Accused persons should approach the courts to plead their innocence rather than going to the public to plead persecution.

The country is better served when the law enforcement agencies are allowed to do their work and we must stop the actors of this dangerous game of politicizing law enforcement.

Mother Ernilasari did not feel anything was wrong during her pregnancy, and doctors did not pick up on the problem until after Gilang was born – despite doing three ultrasound scans

A baby has been born in Indonesia with two faces because his conjoined twin did not develop properly in the womb.

Two-month-old Gilang Andika, from Batam, a city in Indonesia about 20 miles (32km) across the sea from Singapore, has two faces and two brains but just one head, Dailymail reported.

The complication has left him looking disfigured and suffering from a potentially fatal brain condition, which is causing fluid to build up.

Although he has just one body with two arms and two legs, Gilang is technically a conjoined twin – a condition which affects one in every 250,000 births.

On his head, he has the face and brain of a sibling which did not grow its own body in the womb, because their mother’s egg did not completely split in two during pregnancy.

His parents, Ernilasari and Mustafa, now desperately want help to save their son’s life after local doctors told them they were unable to operate.

Because of his rare predicament, Gilang cannot be breastfed, so has to be fed milk through a tube.

And doctors have said he is not likely to live long because of his condition.

The unfortunate infant also has a condition called hydrocephalus, which is caused by a build-up of fluid in the brain.

Many babies who are born with hydrocephalus have long-term brain damage, which can cause learning disabilities, speech, vision or memory problems, or epilepsy.


Mother Ernilasari and father Mustafa did not know about their son’s serious illness until he was born by Caesarean section.

They want to seek treatment for Gilang, but they don’t have the money.

Dr Nenden Ismawati, who looked after Gilang at Awal Bros Hospital in Batam, says it is unlikely doctors will be able to perform surgery.

During her pregnancy, Ernilasari said she did not feel anything strange, and doctors at the Chamata Sahidiya Panbil Hospital did not notice the problem despite three ultrasound scans.

Now Gilang’s parents are desperate to find a way to separate their child’s head, as the abnormality has caused health problems for the little one.



It is believed he has a disorder called diprosopus, one of the rarest deformities in humans, and one which most do not survive beyond birth.

The condition is known as craniofacial duplication and causes part or all of the face to be grown twice because of a problem during the egg’s division in the womb.

Curing Gilang will likely involve risky surgery to remove one of his brains and faces, and part of his skull.

The Department of State, (DSS) has retained embattled Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick and Scribe, Dr. Muhammed Sanusi to their offices.

Checks at the NFF Glass House secretariat reveals that DSS on Monday morning resumed duties at the Zone 7 secretariat of the NFF, asking all the staff and those who occupied the office by force since July 2, 2018 to vacate immediately.

The DSS, who said they were working on instructions from above made sure no person was left inside the secretariat after the clearance.

Few hours after, the Secretary General was led to his office by officers of the DSS, where he had resumed his legal duties as the head of the football federation's secretariat in Nigeria.

The President’s office was also cleared in readiness for the resumption of the Amaju Pinnick.

Pinnick will return to Nigeria tomorrow after supervising the CAF Round Table symposium with the five African representatives to the 2018 Russia World Cup x-raying the continent’s poor showing at the biggest soccer competition in the world.

Patience Osafo, the nursing mother who was brutally assaulted last Friday by a ruthless police officer at the banking hall of Midlands Savings and Loans Limited in
Ghana is being compensated by compassionate Ghanaians.
According to reports in Ghana, the mother of three has received over GH?40,000 (N2.9million)cash donations, foodstuff and clothing from compassionate Ghanaians so far.
