A four year old girl was raped in a school toilet by three boys in Thailand.
There are suggestions that the boys may have been armed with a knife. The school was named as Ban Thung Krat School in Bang Lamung.

Speaking during a news conference on Wednesday, September 19, Paveena Hongsakul, who heads a foundation for children and women, called for an urgent review of the position and staffing of toilets used by young children at schools.

At the news conference was the Chonburi provincial police chief and the 41 year old mother of the four year old. They were given the assumed names of Mo and Naen.
Mo said that on September 4th she got a call from teachers at the school where her daughter is in K1. They said there was blood on her underwear.
The child told her mum that she had been going to the toilet in lavatories at the rear of the school.
She said that there were three boys and they had a knife. Doctors confirmed that the little girl had been raped.



Chief Pol Maj-Gen Nanthachart Suphamonkhon said that three boys had been interviewed by police in the presence of social services and were in custody in a juvenile detention center.
The knife that the little girl referred to may have in fact been the penis of one of the boys who has already been charged with rape.
The little girl has been reported as being terrified.
Paveena called for CCTV to be installed at school toilets and authorities to reassess the positioning of toilets for young children on school compounds.
She said staff should be present at toilets used by young children.

When his wife, Laura, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 17 years ago, Wesley Ryan sold his cherished white 1993 Ford Mustang GT to help pay for her medical bills. .

His son, Jake, said that selling the car was “one of the biggest sacrifices I’ve seen him have to make for us, for all of us. I know how much it broke him in half seeing that car drive away from him. A day I’ll never forget.” .

With so many years passed, Wesley, 47, had no idea what was about to happen when his wife and kids blindfolded him in a department store parking lot earlier this month, then broke down in tears when they revealed the Mustang on the back of a flatbed truck. .

The touching moment was captured on video with the Zac Brown Band song “My Old Man” playing in the background, and posted to Jake’s Facebook page. .

Jake told the San Antonio Express-News that he came across the car while perusing Craigslist a couple of years ago, but couldn’t close a deal. When it popped up again recently, he, his sister, Jeni and her boyfriend all chipped in to buy it. .

In a sad twist of fate, the seller was letting it go because her own mother had contracted ovarian cancer and they needed the money for treatment. .

Wesley told the Express-News that what his children did for him "shows where they are: they are balanced human beings. .

My wife and I have succeeded, we've raised productive adults, it's the strongest, most powerful feeling that a parent can have."

President Buhari has vowed to ensure that all appointments in his administration is distributed equitably among the 36 states of the federation.

President Buhari who has been accused repeatedly of lopsided appointment since the beginning of his administration, made the promise when he spoke with a delegation of Akwa Ibom state elders in the state house Abuja yesterday September 17th.

“I have taken note of your appreciation of appointments into the Federal Service from your state. I assure you that I shall continue to be fair and equitable in federal appointments to all states of the country,” Buhari told the delegation
Last week, Nigerians on social media accused President Buhari of nepotism and tribalism after the removal of the acting DG of DSS Matthew Seiyefa and the appointment of the new DG of DSS Yusf Magaji Bichi.

He has also been accused of napotism after the recent appointment of Zainab Ahmed, as the acting Minister of Finance, following Kemi Adeosun's resignation.

The entire Umuezeala (Aba branch) axis of Ehime Mbano Local Government Area and its environs was early hours of today thrown into deep darkness as reckless driver of Akwa Ibom Royal Transport Company smatched two natives of the area to death.

According to an eyewitness, the duo (male and female) who were on a motobike met their sudden death as they were ran into by the bus driver who couldn't control the wheels of the vehicle due to high speed.

Following the sad event, youths of the area seeing that the victims of the fatal accident died on the spot angrily took to the street protesting over what they described as high speed rate on the road (especially on the part of vehicles bearing Akwa Ibom) which have resulted to loss of many lives in the recents.

The Imo State Police Command have arrested more members of a child trafficking syndicate in connection with the sale of a newborn baby boy for N550,000.

Parading the suspect and others at the command's headquarters in Owerri on Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, said an 18-year-old mother, Nwaokwe Chijioke, of Ogada Atta in Ikeduru L.G.A, conspired with Onyinyechi Chibueze, 29, of Amaruru Iho – Dimeze in Ikeduru L.G.A and a trainee nurse, Nwokeogu Lilian Chinwe, 35, of Dikenafai in Ideato South L.G.A, to sell her baby.

"The suspects conspired and sold a four months old baby boy delivered by Nwaokwe Chijioke to the proprietor of Unity Hospital Anara in Isiala Mbano L.G.A where Nwokeogu Lilian Chinwe is a trainee nurse.

Suspects have made useful statements to the police confessing to have received the cash sum of five hundred and fifty thousand naira (N550, 000.00) as proceeds from the sale from the proprietor of the hospital who is still at large. Investigation is in progress as efforts are been beefed up to apprehend the proprietor of the hospital and recovery of the baby boy." the CP said.

Cristiano Ronaldo has announced he will open the sixth edition of his “CR7” hotel chain in Paris in 2021.

Currently the Portuguese superstar has two “CR7” hotels open: one in LIsbon and one in Funchal, his hometown and capital of the island of Madeira.

The two Portuguese hotels, which opened in 2016, are set to be joined by three new outposts in 2020: Madrid, New York and Marrakech.
And the Juventus star’s empire will grow the following year with a 210-room hotel in Paris, set to be located on the “Left Bank” of the city on the southern side of the Seine River.


Like the other five hotels, the €60 million (£53m/$70m) venture in Paris will be a 50-50 investment between Ronaldo and the Portuguese hotel group Pestana.


“It is quite expected that the Pestana CR7 brand will move to Paris, one of the most visited cities in the world,” Ronaldo said in a press release.

The police in Lagos state have arrested a group of cultists that were carrying out new initiations into a newly formed secret confraternity named " THE NEW BLACK MOVEMENT OF AFRICA", a breakaway faction of the AIYE cult group, at about 12am at Jakande estate, Ajah Lagos yesterday Thursday August 6th.

A statement by the command's spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, says one of the recruits who couldn't endure the torture and other initiation rites he was subjected, bolted for his dear life and ran to his mother's house at Jakande estate, Ajah Lagos. Miffed by the apparent show of cowardice by the intending recruit and the fact that he may give them up to the police, the group chased him to his mother's residence and began to beat up everybody in sight, at same time, robbing residents of the estate who were woken up by their noise.

Unfortunately for the group, the mother of the runaway boy, sneaked out of the house and a placed a distress call to the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ilasan division, CSP Onyinye Onwuamaegbu who led a contingent of policemen to the estate and arrested eleven members of the group, all males; namely, Godwin Victor, Benjamin Daniel, Saviour Anioffiong, Lawal Ibrahim, Shola Odekunle, Sodiq Olawuyi, Segun Fagbohun, Bashiru Lawal, Chinedu Francis, Wahab Adams and Ifarinde Adeniyi.

The police team recovered the following items from the suspects, viz: one locally made shotgun, four live cartridges, three cutlasses, one sledge hammer, ten horse whips and assorted charms.

In a related development, two notorious cultists, Rasheed Yusuf aka Radical and Abel Okwo, were arrested during a supremacy battle between the Aiye and Eiye confraternities at Akerele street, Oworonshoki. Meanwhile, the said Abel Okwo was charged to court two months ago by the Command for cult related offences only to come back to terrorise the town the more.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi, vows that the Command will not relent in its efforts at ridding the state of members of these unlawful societies. He therefore calls on parents to hold heart to heart talks with their children, male and female alike, on the evil consequences of belonging to cult groups. He thanks Lagosians for always providing the Command with information about the activities of these outlaws and solicits for more cooperation.

Following reports that six All Progressives Congress governors are planning to dump the party for the Peoples Democratic Party, the party has reacted.

The All Progressives Congress has described the Peoples Democratic Party’s claim that six APC governors and some senators have concluded plans to join its fold as hallucination.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Yekini Nabena, stated this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

“Nigerians have rejected the PDP and all that it represents – corruption, impunity, waste and greed.”


Nabena added that in the face of imminent defeat in 2019, the PDP had chosen to hide behind lies and false realities to save its face.

He said that while the PDP hallucinated on APC members’ defection to its camp, the APC was consolidating to go into the 2019 general elections as a smarter, more united and stronger political fighting force.

He said that while the PDP wallowed in its pains, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration was focused on improving the lives of Nigerians, addressing infrastructure needs and revamping the economy.

A man who lost his beautiful young wife exactly one year ago, has penned a touching tribute on social media to celebrate her, and it is very heartwarming.



A Nigerian man identified as Abdullahi Mahunta from Katsina State, has taken to his Facebook page to pen a heartwarming tribute to his late ex-wife who died exactly a year ago, September 6, 2017, while observing Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

"Late Maryam Umar Maina (Maman Samha): The Living Dead
Like many other wives, Maryam was also a good and loyal wife, but one quality stood her out. Maryam never joined issues in disagreement. Each issue is treated independent of any other. She never took any disagreement personal. Idan ka bata ma ta rai kan zuwa unguwa, ba za ka gani a fuskar ta ba. Ba kuma za ka gani a kwanon tuwon ka ba. Through out our stay with Maryam, we have never quarrelled nor fought.



Yes we had disagreement and she was, also, never disrespectful in disagreement and never transgressed. Even where she disagreed with you, she would clearly espress her opinion; diplomatically maintain her stand and respectfully recognise your views.

Nothing revealed these exceptional characters of maryam's more, like the dying days of our marriage. On the very day I took Maryam back to her family, around 4:30pm after the close of work, I received her call. "Abu Khalifa, yau ga shi ba ni gida, ka kawo, don Allah ka da ka manta ka ci abinci fa". "In shaa Allah Maryam, na gode". I would answer. On another day, "Abu Khalifa, yau Mama ta yi wata taliya mai dadin tsiya, na ce bari in aje ma ka. Na san ka da son taliya. Idan ka taso office sai ka zo ka amsa". And i would go to Maryam's house eat the taliya har ma mu yi hira and leave.

On another day again: "Abu Khalifa, wallahi yau ba na jin dadin baki na, duk na kasa cin abinci. Don Allah ka zo mu je Downtown ma na". I would go and take Maryam to downtown. Sometimes she would even ask me to take her to one or two places before I dropped her back to their house. All these, from a wife wadda ta ke zaman yaji a gidan su. And in all those engagements, she would never mention the 'borne of contention ' between us that took her back home in the first place. And that was one lesson, harder as I tried, I still cannot learn.

Our marriage wasn't destined to last for long. And with hindsight, I accept all the responsibilities. Maryam was young, pregnant and also sick. Those were the factors I did not consider. I was impatient and inconsiderate, though I was relatively young too. Notwithstanding, it was destined to happy. And when it was finally over, "inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. Allah ya sa haka shine ma fi alkhairi" was her only words. Accepting her new destiny and totally submitting to the will of Allah. And she moved on. Allah ya jikan ki Maryam.

Because of Maryam's warm and friendly disposition, many years after the dissolution of our marriage, our families remain friends. She would call my mother, my sisters and even her ex uwargida. On some occasions, she would visit my house whenever she found herself in Kaduna.

One day in 2017, I received a call from Maryam. After the normal greetings and discussing about our daughter, Samha, Maryam said: "Ni kuwa Abu Khalifa lokacin da mu na tare ka taba yi mani alkawarin Hajji ko Umara. Ban tuna ma ba ne kawai duk tsawon lokacin nan domin na san Idan ka samu hali za ka yi". "Anya Maryam? Ni dai gaskiya ban iya tunawa. Shekara wajen takwas ke nan fa.". I replied. "To shikenan, a bar maganar sai ranar da ka tuna." Maryam concluded.

Days later, I raised the issue with anty Bebi, expressing my doubt. Before I finished, aunty Bebi interjected: "Gaskiyar Maryam! Wallahi ina shaida". "Kin ji Maryam, aunty Bebi ma ta ce wai wallahi ita ce shaida". "Allah sarki aunty Bebi! Ai na san dama Allah zai bayyana gaskiya ta" Maryam replied. "Amma fa ni na fi son zuwa Ummara. Ka ga yanzu an fara zuwa umarar azumi. Ita na ke son zuwa".
I called a very good friend, Yusuf Shehu Daura (Righteous), who is a travelling agent and linked him up with Maryam. He bought a ticket, got the visa and booked a flight for Maryam.

But On the day they were supposed to leave for the Umra, my friend called: "Abdullahi don Allah ka yi hakuri ka kuma ba Maryam hakuri. Wallahi mutumin da aka yi ma su visa tare ya samu matsala ba zai iya tafiya ba. Saboda haka ita ma ba yadda za a yi ta tafi. Amman Idan Allah ya kai mu lokacin aikin Hajji, ni zan cika akan kudin umarar da ku ka biya in kai ta Hajji in shaa Allah ". That was how Allah took Maryam to Hajj at the cost of N500,000 when every other alhaji paid the sum of N1.5m for the same Hajj in 2017. Little did we know that Allah (SWT) had other plans for Maryam. Allah ka jikan Maryam!

When she eventually arrived Saudi for the 2017 Hajj, on the 29th of August, while in Madina, seven days before her death, Maryam sent me the following text message:
"Na yi ta maka addu'a da na shiga Rawdah. Ban san yanda zan kwatanta farinciki na da na zo Medina ba. Har kuka se da na yi. Allah ya saka maka da alkhairi. Kai babbban akhairine a rayuwaata Abdullahi."

About four days to Maryam's death, me and aunty Bebi visited Maryam at their camp in Minna. A day later I went back "Maryam, your agent ya ce ma ni har yanzu ba ki yi hadaya ba?". "To ba miji ke yi ma matar shi ba". She replied. "To ke ki na da mijin ne?". "Shsss" She quickly gestured to me to keep quite while coming closer and continued: "ka san fa duk abokan tafiya ta na fada ma su cewa ina da aure. Jiya ma da ku ka zo na gaya ma su cewa kai ne miji na kuma aunty Bebi kishiya ta ce. Saboda haka kai za ka yi ta, tunda kai ka kawo ni nan". That was Maryam..

A day to her death, when we are back to Makkah waiting for a return trip back to home, Maryam sent me a message: "Abu Khalifa, yau na yi rashin lafiya har an kai ni asibiti an sa ma ni drips, amman da sauki har ma an sallame ni na dawo gida". "Subhanallah! Wallahi Yusuf bai ma gaya ma ni ba. In shaa Allah, gobe zan zo in duba ki. Allah ya sauwake." I replied.

The following morning, on the 6th of September, around 6:30pm, my friend called: "Abdullahi ka na ina? Don Allah ka yi ma za ka zo nan gidan mu yanzu. Maryam ba ta da lafiya." "Eh mun yi magana da ita jiya. Ina nan Haram Yanzu da an gama sallar Magariba zan zo". Aunty Bebi who was together with me suggested that I should not wait till after Magrib because he sounded so serious.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un! By the time I arrived their residence, Maryam was already on her way to the great beyond. Breathing heavily, her eyes fixed and staring so deep into the deeper space, obviously aware of the decent of the 'Malakul maut'.

Within the next few minutes, before the ambulance arrived, Allah ya karbi rayuwar Maryam. I came late. As your only relation in far away Makkah, I wish i had the chance to get your last wish. Your wasiyya Maryam, as an only child, to your mother and to our daughter Samha, as an only child to you too. Allah ka gafarta kurakuran Maryam.
It was then I realised that Maryam actually meant what she told me at their camp in Minna. That she told everyone in Saudi that I was her husband. Because everyone at the scene was like "Sannu ka ji, wannan ai shine mijin ta.Allah ya gafarta ma ta. Allah ya ba ka hakurin wannan rashi".

The circumstances of Maryam's death(death at home) also squarely placed that responsibility on my shoulders. She became a police case subject to investigations to ensure that her death was natural. So as a supposed husband, I became the reference point. Her next of keen.
On the 21st of September, I was invited to the police headquarters in Makkah where I was given the autopsy report and made to sign a document accepting that the death of my 'wife' was natural. They also handed over the corpse to me and aunty Bebi who, assuming also that she Maryam's kishiya, was invited to participate lokacin yi ma ta wanka da sutura. Later on that day, aka yi ma ta sallah a masallacin Haram aka yi jana'izar ta.

Maryam was a lone child to her mother. Her mother had her after many years of marriage without a child. And never had another child after Maryam. That situation made it difficult for me to break the news of her death to her mother, so I had to go through some indirect channels. But when I eventually spoke to her, her response was: "Allah sarki Inna! Allah ya biya ma ta burin ta. Lokacin da ta ke mani bankwana ta ke cewa 'Mama, ni dai buri na Idan na gama aikin Hajji na lafiya Allah ya amshi rayuwa ta a chan".A wish, Allah indeed granted Maryam.

You might have died Maryam, but your your memories live on in the mind of whoever came in contact with you while you are alive. And whoever reads about you. Allah ya jikan ki Maryam! Allah ya gafarta kurakuran ki. Allah ya albarkaci zuri'ar da ki ka bari..."

Two days after UK member of parliament, Tom Brake, held a protest in front of the Nigerian High Commission in the UK to bring attention to the #FreeLeah campaign, another British man took to the streets of London to stage a solo protest for the release of Leah Sharibu, the Dapchi schoolgirl who was kidnapped in February.

Leah Sharibu was kidnapped from school alongside 118 other female students. Five of them died in captivity and the others were set free, but only Leah is still being held by the terrorists because she refused to renounce her Christian faith.

The foreigner who was pictured staging a solo protest for the release of Leah, wore a native Nigerian attire as he sat with posters surrounding him. The posters have the face of Leah on them, with the words, "200 days held captive. Negotiate her release now."

A man’s day at the beach in the Hainan resort city of Sanya, China, was spoilt, over the weekend, when a stingray’s barbed tail managed to find its way into his swimming trunk.

In a video that has gone viral, the man is seen lying on the sand in excruciating pain with the stingray at his side.

Apparently, while he was swimming in the ocean, the animal’s tail had somehow gotten into his shorts, causing at least one razor sharp venomous barb to become stuck in his penis.


Firefighters and paramedics, later, carefully went about snipping the spiked barb from his penis and he was rushed to the hospital thereafter.

For the N3 trillion Nigeria has received from China in the last four years, every Nigerian owes China N15,000 in debt. That’s just N3,000 short of minimum wage, reports.
The debt comes from two huge tranches of aid from China: $3.1 billion in 2014 and $6 billion for infrastructure in the last three years, according to political analyst Theophilus Abbah.



Simple mathematics. Divide the combined total, just over N3 trillion, by the 198 million population Nigeria always talks about: that’s a nice N15,000 in debt to China for every Nigerian.
And that doesn’t even include the loan agreement signed this week in Beijing where China pledged $60 billion in credit facilities, a quarter of it interest free.

Analysts say getting governments indebted to China is the republic’s way of outsmarting the US and the UK in Africa trade


“They are active in Liberia, Ghana, Angola,” minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, told Bloomberg.
“They are throwing money where their mouth is and in very many respect is one area where they have beaten both the US, European and British in things like this.

“Africa requires a lot of development funds; China is able to provide it. Not just provide in terms of money but provide with adequate technology.”
The implication is Africa may be unable to resist Chinese trade and international politics.
Recently, at the World Health Assembly, the US proposed watering down recommendations against breastmilk substitutes and threatened all countries who opposed its stand with sanctions.


Only Russia stood up to the US and saved the recommendation.
A United States lawmaker, Rep Chris Smith, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, said in a recent opinion article that China also uses foreign aid as a “bargaining chip” in corrupt African countries with plenty of natural resources for them to exploit.



“AidData, a research laboratory at the College of William and Mary, argued in written testimony submitted to my committee that China effectively buys the votes of African governments at the United Nations; they concluded that if African countries voted with China at the UN an extra 10 per cent of the time, they would receive an 86 per cent bump in assistance,” the lawmaker said.
Nigeria has accepted the Chinese Yuan as a reserve currency, which will begin to compete with the US dollar.


The US lawmaker lamented that the Chinese in-road into Africa could be dangerous.

“All of these trends—rising levels of debt, shoddy infrastructure projects, and investment that permits human rights abusers to consolidate their influence and power—point to serious risks for the future of the African continent.”
