My younger brother visa was refused. I am surprised the VO made some mistakes. How do I write for reconsideration? He stated he earn 400k monthly with 100K monthly expenses with a monthly balance of 300k monthly. On his application he stated that he would spend 1k pounds for 20 days. The VO said he was spending over 2 times monthly disposable income. (This is not true because 1k is not over 600k).

Again, the VO questioned too many debits. These debit were the endless 50 naira debits for card maintenance that has been done by UBA. I have complained to the bank with no solution. (Most UBA customers can attest to this).

When I have network I used ATM to transfer my monthly expenses which sometimes have little charges of 53 naira. This is insignificant to wrongly judge the debits.

Please gurus advice on the way to write them for consideration. Even if one has a stable expenses of 100k There are times one can spend a bit higher. I thought the focus was more on income.

Kindly post the refusal letter for proper scrutiny. You may have missed other salient issues raised.

When he goes for biometrics, tell the tls staff, he needs to upload more things, he will pay 11,700 via his bank card and then they upload the cover letter.

From your write up, you said that you worked consistently for 3 years and you have only 300k as opening credit (this is actually a red flag because it signified that your disposal is not actually how you portrayed it. Even, had you made some investments you should have provided proof as evidence as part of list of submitted docs), then you saved up your disposal income for 6 months to get the closing credit of 1,200,000 Naira.

My point is that no body knows what the ECO are actually considering, especially for those that are asking for documents submitted. My advise is ensure your financial capability is tight and reflects clearly on your submitted bank statement and also do your homework well.

Thank you for the input. I made it clear to the ECO in the cover letter that I just recently got engaged which involved spending quite a lot of money as traditional customs demand in Nigeria, I attached the pictures. I also made it clear that I have other bank accounts which I run for personal stuffs like petty businesses. Like you rightly said, it's the ECO that knows what he's looking for. I feel one just needs to be honest in what you try to sell to them. They can almost always decipher whether you are lying or not.

I spent only 50K from my salary every month. I withdraw in 5ks, 10ks but no withdrawal more than 10K. I have other accounts for emergencies & other things. I do not exceed 50K every month. Hence my disposable income for the 6 months reflected in my statement of account is N150,000 monthly.

I ensured no other money except my N200,000 salary enters every month. Even my Christmas and performance bonus was paid in a different bank account (I don't have time to be explaining to ECO)

When you know ushow can't fund a joint business anymore and not ready to show commitments either, I think the best thing to do is let go off it so that the person who can fund it continue.
I was a victim of this stupid ownership tussle btw the two states and I know the trauma it caused me when my medical school years became unending make us spend extra unplanned years in school.

Doc, I sight u.

I honestly believe all professions are important and do their part to move the economy forward. However, it is quite difficult to quantity the extent of workdone in relation to pay. Doctors deserve to be paid well with respect to international best practices. So also should other professions. I think the issue here is relativity. I'm a doctor, I work extra hours, extra days and night (weekends and holidays inclusive). I don't own my life: my patients own me, not even my family. I'm exposed & susceptible to diseases daily e.g ebola, HIV, hepatitis. With all these, I think I deserve to be paid more but would love it more if other professions are paid `relatively' well.
