christistruth01: When 97% of an Ethnic group is Muslim their religion is part of their Ethnic identity
So Kano state is 97% Muslim? You went on to say their religion is part of their identity, that further justifies the actions of Kwankwaso and the silence of Muslims there. One Nigeria indeed.. South east are mainly ethnic Christians, but how many times have you heard of Muslims being harassed in the South east because of their religion?
christistruth01: Is Ipob’s Monday sit at home not Ethnic supremacists fanatism does it consider the belief of other Tribes living in the SE ?
Let us not get too hypocritical
You are the one getting too hypocritical here because we are talking about religion not ethnicity. Even before from the Inception of the sit at home till it was lifted many Igbos spoke against it. How many Muslims have spoken out against Sharia law imposed on non-muslims? Do you really believe in Christ as your moniker says Let us not get too hypocritical
TrioVibes: See, I am a Christian and I will never support evil. However, I strongly disagree with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso being mentioned for possible U.S. sanctions. I was in Kano during that period and I understand how the politics played out.
Even during times of religious crisis, he consistently stood against fanatics. At one point, he was even given a Christian nickname simply because he openly resisted those who wanted to cause violence against Christians. If the U.S. had named other individuals in the North, especially those known to have released terrorists or openly fraternised with them, there would have been far less controversy.
There is a former governor whose records and reports were widely circulated at the time, yet he later became a party chairman. Had his name been mentioned, many people would not have argued because his history is already well documented.
Even though I only encountered Kwankwaso briefly, I do not agree with the claim that the “red cap” politician has anything to do with terrorism.
Except I see a video of him directly participating in issues of terrorism which I think it would be a figment of the accusers imaginations.
Swallow this story hook line and sinker at your own risk. Peller is already on watch list for washing dirty money through his online gifts and now this... Yeye dey ooze. Many of the rich in Arab countries are being impersonated.
Hungrychicken: Huawei phones doesn’t support WhatsApp. They had their beef in the past and the USA banned them from Android OS, and other American apps. Get a different phone
Using Oppo now, WhatsApp works fine only for the exception I mentioned about being blocked once I chat a new number. I stil can't figure a way out if it. Although I het unbanned after some hours.
TheTundeMuniru: Hi Nairalanders. I purchased a fairly used Huawei phone, wiped it, installed WhatsApp and I logged in my details.
I bought the phone purposefully because of WhatsApp and Telegram. To my greatest shock, I was logged out of WhatsApp when on live chat with one of my clients. On the App, I requested for a Review, the Account was restored but only to be blocked again 2 days later.
I was so devastated thinking it was a direct WhatsApp ban for violating their terms. To my greatest surprise, my phone number have been blocked from using WhatsApp on any phone at all. I sent several messages to the WhatsApp Support , but the problem persists.
After making many efforts with little result to back my efforts. I got another line which I slotted in the same Huawei phone, only for the new line to be blocked from using WhatsApp.
The whole thing got me frustrated and I remembered Nairalanders are brilliant.
My people, please help me.
Happens mostly on used Oppo and Huawei phones. No used gadget or electronics is better than just getting a new one.
For me I get blocked anytime I chat with a newly added contact. I still don't know why. I am using my naija number in china, any reason why?
Northernblood8: Controversy Erupts Over Pastor Fatoyinbo's Remarks on Igbo Christians

Any clean area you see in Lagos has it's waste hidden under one bridge.
Nifemy4: It was a nauseating sight for me to behold this morning . Somthing shifted in me , but it was of immense curiosity borne out of : why can’t we get it right for once in this country .
For context : Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria in terms of landmass and yet the richest state in west Africa. It’s a multibillion naira independent economy . Yet , what you find around is eye sore of garbage and soul crushing dirts like a pillar in the middle of the metropolis. This is suruelre , shitta roundabout .
If Lagos can’t get it right , then forget it . Nigeria can’t get it right . Cos Lagos is meant to be a prototype for other states .
The whole money in trillions made in this state is used to service one man’s greed —- no obvious development , nothing .
If you bring somone to Lagos for the first time , this is what they will see The blacks indeed can’t govern . They lack the capacity . I d prefer if we still being colonized
It was like a joke when a lady who appear to be the girlfriend of the guy that was hugged by his ex-girlfriend in the present of his girlfriend in a mall
Is the girlfriend afraid that the ex may take the guy back or why did she has to act that way?
It’s a different kind of pain to feel lonely while lying next to someone who is supposed to love you. To be married, yet feel emotionally single. To wake up every day craving affection, attention, and connection… and still go to bed empty.
People think loneliness only comes from being alone. But sometimes it comes from being with someone who no longer sees you, hears you, or desires you.
I miss being wanted. I miss being touched with intention, spoken to with softness, loved with effort. I miss feeling like I matter.
I’m tired of pretending I’m okay. Tired of acting strong when inside I feel invisible. Tired of pouring love into a space that feels cold and silent.
This is not about perfection. It’s about presence. About romance. About feeling chosen, not just tolerated.
The hardest part is knowing that I’m still capable of love, passion, and deep connection — but I’m living in a place where none of it is returned.
And that kind of loneliness… hurts more than being alone ever could.
I understand and feel your plight. But I advice you have a sit down with your hubby and discuss this heart to heart and dint hide your feelings or emotions. This is necessary before things escalate.
Brahamimo: How do I narrate this without feeling let down?
It's really painful and sad.
Last week, I bumped into an old school mates of mine. In fact, we weren't just sch mates but coursemates. This is someone who wouldn't attend lectures or read. He used to copy from me during exams . He was more of a nuisance to almost every of his coursemate. It wouldn't be act of exaggeration to say he was the dullest amongst us. You know these types of coursemates that are never serious, they just go about talking and disturbing everyone. The guy no get shame at all. He will beg you for money, food and everything. During exams, he would go into the hall with chokes. He was a photocopier. You must open your scripts for him to copy, else he will keep disturbing you. So, yesterday, we had into each other. He's married now and doing very well for himself. He is the most successful of all of us. I'm a hussler. I do all sorts of menial jobs. So last week, he drove into a car wash stand where I work. I saw him and I was surprised. All the while, we were only seeing on Facebook. When I spotted him, he didn't know I was the one until I went to him. We hugged and exchanged pleasantries, I saw the disappointment in his face. Why would I be washing cars after sch? Did you know that this same guy asked that we took a picture together?. We posed for the camera and one of my colleagues snapped us.. He left. And this guy began sending my pictures to other former coursemates of ours. The next week was my birthday, and this guy posted same picture on our WhatsApp platform. I was mocked. They now call me a car washer.
This has affected my self esteem and confidence. The admin of our WhatsApp platform had to delete the photo . Most of my mates called me directly to pacify and encourage me cos I was among the best students during our time.
I'm really disappointed. This guy didn't call me on my birthday, but had the guts to post a picture of me while wearing rags and washing cars at my workplace.
I am really traumatised at this moment. I'm pained. Nothing has ever hurt me like this, not even the death of my dad ever hurt me this way.

Note this as part of your testimony and move on with your life. Life is an individual race, maybe when you hammer now he will be broke.
China presently needs a strong Nigerian Consulate/Embassy to help mitigate against the troubling activities and comportment of some derelict Nigerians here in China. Not one rented office space in Guangzghou or Beijing.
Buratai is hardly seen in Benin Republic, especially in the embassy. he possibly works from home most times or his assistants or subordinates handle affairs at the Embassy. The man is just lounging like on a retirement holiday in Benin.
Georgry: Nigerians will begin paying a 7.5 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) on selected banking services, including mobile bank transfers and USSD transactions, from January 19, 2026, following a new government-backed regulatory directive.
SaharaReporters obtained a notice sent to customers on Wednesday afternoon by Moniepoint, informing users of the impending implementation of the VAT regime on certain electronic banking charges.
According to the notice, the development is tied to a directive from tax authorities mandating financial institutions to begin VAT collection and remittance.
“We would like to inform you of an upcoming government-endorsed regulatory change regarding Value Added Tax (VAT),” the notice stated.
It added, “From Monday, 19 January 2026, we are required to collect a 7.5% VAT, to be remitted to the Nigerian Revenue Service (NRS) (formerly known as the Federal Inland Revenue Service).”
The company disclosed that the tax will apply to “certain banking services,” including “electronic banking charges such as mobile banking fees (transfers), USSD transaction fees and card issuance fee.”
wirinet: That's because they don't run to the US or other countries, and start constituting a nuisance. Even in neighbouring countries like Nigeria, Benin Republic Citizens go about their businesses quietly without making noise or commiting crimes.
They aren't focused on the US but France. There are lots of them there. Still they aren't a nuisance in France, if you see a nuisance abroad check well it may be a Nigerian who managed to get a Benin passport.
Demigod22: My friend started dating a girl recently, and she claimed to be single. One week into the relationship, my friend had to travel and she visited him, they had sex and he travelled the following day. A strange number called him to warn him to stay away from his wife, the husband visited his house and reported him to his Mom.
He confronted the girl, she informed him that the guy beat her and ceased her phone. She has been crying and apologizing, claiming they're no longer married, but they lived together, she had a child for him before the child died, and begging. I told my friend to move on and block her.
My friend is a nice guy and he is really disturbed he slept with another man's wife, I told him it's not his fault. Why do people cheat, and why is this generation celebrating cheating like a hobby or fun activity? Loyalty is dead.
Guys be careful out there. Use your brain to think ahead of your dick. I have fallen victim to this too to the extent I have a kid with a particular lady. She never told me she was married, the husband was abroad even trying to process green visa for her. At the time she got pregnant her family even adviced her to invite the husband who came and they had sex, afterwards they put the pregnancy on him. But kasala still bust and she lost both me and him plus green card, because his friends around told him about our relationship to the extent he called me on phone to confront me. I told him plainly to sort the problem out with his wife, that I was lied to also and had no knowledge that she was betrothed to someone else. All this happened while we both were in the bank. Beware, it's not joke. Ladies now don't cling to one dick
LegendHero: Trump just want to deal with everybody.
Even Ghana dey there too.
Benin Republic always seems to have a soft spot Internationally, believe me a Benin passport is more recognised than a Nigerian passport. They are not in that list. Congratulations to them.
Jman06: "After every operation" you said. This error was made by the surgeon DURING the surgery so don't bring in the nurses here. So, if the nurses take stock AFTER the surgery and discovered that a scissors was missing and it was then found to have been left inside the patient, does that absolve the doctors of negligence?
If this stock taking was done after the operation it wouldn't have been too late, it may have cost them additional work for hours and not endanger someone's life for weeks. It does not absolve the doctors but double checking from another person (more likely to be the nurse) would have saved the situation. Doctors just walk out of the theater, who cleans up and moves the tools away? Reason am.
