The malware first emerged last year in what Check Point calls “underground forums” and was called a “stealer-as-a-service” that was available to purchase for just $3,000. With it, cybercriminals could target Mac users with malware through phishing sites masquerading as popular software companies like Chrome and Telegram, the company reported. In the fall, it was discovered that the “Banshee macOS Stealer” was modified by developers using “stolen” code from Apple’s XProtect, an antivirus system built into Mac devices, which allowed the malware to go undetected on user’s computers. “This stealthy malware doesn’t just infiltrate; it operates undetected, blending seamlessly with normal system processes while stealing browser credentials, cryptocurrency wallets, user passwords, and sensitive file data,” Check Point researchers wrote. “What makes Banshee truly alarming is its ability to evade detection. Even seasoned IT professionals struggle to identify its presence.” After the malware’s source code was leaked in online forums in November, antivirus systems were better able to detect it, but it also sparked fear about emerging cybercrime tactics. “While macOS does include robust security features like Gatekeeper, XProtect, and sandboxing, the rise of the Banshee stealer serves as a reminder that no operating system is immune to threats,” the researchers wrote. In order to protect yourself and your data, tech news site Tom’s Guide advised users to “be vigilant” after apps and software that can be downloaded by verifying the company’s legitimacy before downloading. While Macs do come with built-in antivirus software, experts at Tom’s Guide recommended “using that in tandem” with other antivirus software, which can be purchased, as well as a VPN and password manager. https://nypost.com/2025/01/11/tech/apple-users-warned-of-hi-tech-mac-malware-that-steals-personal-data-goes-undetected-for-months-heres-how-to-stay-safe/ |
An estimated 100 million Apple users are at risk of falling victim to malware. Cybersecurity software company Check Point issued an urgent warning to the millions of Mac users around the world who may be preyed on by malicious actors evading the devices’ built-in antivirus systems. According to the company, cybercriminals have developed malware, dubbed the “Banshee macOS Stealer,” which secretly steals credentials and other sensitive data while operating undetected for more than months. article continues in next post |

A Florida defense lawyer was busted for allegedly smuggling legal documents soaked in the wild synthetic marijuana known as K2 into jail so inmates could get stoned, officials said. Nathan Williams, 37, gave the jailbirds docs doused in the mind-bending street drug — also known as “spice” and “paper dope” — at Duval County Jail in Jacksonville in exchange for money and bribes, according to local cops. The attorney is accused of working with the inmates and their family members to bring the substance, which has caused a rash of dangerous overdoses, behind bars so it could “be abused by the inmates,” Undersheriff Shawn Coarsey said at a press conference Tuesday. Williams’ arrest was part of a larger investigation — dubbed “Operation Stamp Collection” — launched in February 2024 after 23 inmates overdosed the prior year, Coarsey said. The office has arrested 21 people including Williams, who is a 16-year member of the National Guard, Coarsey said. The suspects were not working together. Since the probe, inmate overdoses in the area have dropped 61% in 2024, the undersheriff said. Coarsey said the investigation is ongoing and he expects more arrests to be made. Williams was cuffed Sunday night and was charged with eight felonies, including giving drugs to inmates, bringing drugs into jail and unlawful use of communication devices. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted. Williams posted bond and was released Tuesday. He’s due back in court on Jan. 28, according to a report by Law & Crime. David Salisbury, a lawyer for Williams, declined to comment. https://nypost.com/2025/01/08/us-news/lawyer-smuggled-k2-soaked-legal-docs-into-jail-for-inmates-cops/

Overall, there were 140,134 homeless people in the city last year, compared to 88,025 in 2023, according to Newsday, citing HUD data. In October alone,130,438 people slept in a city shelter, according to the Coalition for the Homeless, with the not-for-profit group estimating thousands more were on the streets that month. Other startling figures from the HUD report included a sickening 152% increase between 2007 and 2024 of homelessness in New York state. More than 95,000 families in New York dealt with homelessness in 2024, the report found. It also tallied 3,203 unaccompanied minors who were homeless last year, a 71% increase from 2023. The report noted that improved or increased PIT training — which refers to efforts to count people living on the streets — may have possibly factored in the increased homelessness count in New York. The state’s Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, which oversees housing services, did not immediately reply to an email Wednesday. https://nypost.com/2025/01/08/us-news/ny-saw-53-spike-in-homelessness-in-2024-largely-due-to-migrants-in-nyc-shelters-feds/ |
New York faced a whopping 53% spike in homelessness last year — marking the highest per capita rate in the nation — thanks largely to the influx of migrants housed in Big Apple shelters, according to the feds. The Empire State had more than 158,000 people without a permanent roof over their head — out of more than 771,000 homeless people counted in the US in 2024, a new report by the US Department of Housing and Development found. Clearing eviction backlogs dating back to the COVID-19 pandemic, low affordable housing supply and sharp increase in rent prices, as well as the migrant crisis in Gotham were all cited in the report that resulted in New York having 81 people struggling with homelessness for every 10,000. Migrants staying in emergency shelters throughout the five boroughs “accounted for almost 88% of the increase in sheltered homelessness in New York City,” the HUD report released last month states. As of Monday, there were nearly 60,000 migrants living in city shelters, according to officials. Between Dec. 30 and this past Sunday, 400 new migrants arrived while 1,300 left city care, City Hall said. More than 200,000 migrants have reached the city since the spring of 2022. At its peak, the city was housing nearly 70,000 migrants last spring. article continues in next post |
The wealthiest Americans have never owned so much of the stock market, with the top 10% now holding a record 93% of US equities, according to Federal Reserve data. Americans broadly have been participating in the stock market at a higher rate, with a record 58% of households owning stocks in 2023, according to the Fed's Survey of Consumer Finances. Still, stock ownership is skewed toward the top: by comparison, the bottom 50% of Americans owned just 1% of all stocks and mutual fund shares in the third quarter, central bank data shows. While the pandemic period drove a rise in retail trading as Americans had time on their hands working remotely, as well as cash to put to work from government stimulus checks, it doesn't seem to have titled ownership much further away from the richest Americans. Some experts have also said that many retail traders cashed out during the brutal bear market of 2022, unable to stomach steep losses. In any event, stock market booms have traditionally produced the largest rewards for those who are already wealthy. That's because the wealthiest US households have most of their assets tied up in equities, while most middle-class families have their assets tied up in housing, researchers said in a 2020 study. In the third quarter, the bottom 50% of households held $4.8 trillion of real estate assets, but just $0.3 trillion worth in stocks, Fed data shows. The top 1%, by comparison, held over $16 trillion in stocks, and just over $6 trillion in real estate assets. Stocks have also seen monster returns over the past 10 years, when interest rates were ultra-low and helped drive handsome equity returns. Over the past decade, the S&P 500 rose by 155%, with the benchmark index gaining 24% the last year alone, largely fueled by cooling inflation and expectations from investors for Fed rate cuts in 2024. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/wealthiest-10-americans-own-93-033623827.html |

https://www.nairaland.com/8167499/porn-myth In a letter to a friend, Oxford scholar C.S. Lewis offered some insights about masturbation. He said that a man’s sexual appetite is meant to lead him out of himself, to lead him into being a self-gift that both completes and corrects his personality—first by sharing whole-life oneness with a lover and second by procreating children. With masturbation, however, the appetite is turned in on itself and ‘sends the man back into the prison of himself, there to keep a harem of imaginary brides’.But this is a really weird question to ask. Regardless of gender, focus on health. |
Motta was charged in early December with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. Motta, along with fellow attorney Jason Giles, had their law licenses suspended in late December following the charges, Nola.com reported. The under-fire lawyer used to be a stuntwoman for various films including Jurassic World, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Logan and Furious 7, according to her IMDb profile. Motta boasted about her former Hollywood career when attempting to attract legal clients, running a commercial that showed her involved in numerous stunts. “Stuntwoman turned bad a– attorney,” a voiceover states on the 30-second ad. “When you need legal action, send ‘er in.” Motta’s lawyer, Sean Toomey, has previously said his client isn’t guilty of the charges. “If these accidents were in fact staged, my client was also a victim and taken advantage by others,” he said, according to Nola.com. https://nypost.com/2025/01/07/us-news/lawyer-vanessa-motta-allegedly-had-role-in-staged-crash-scheme-feds/ |
A New Orleans stuntwoman-turned-lawyer found herself in a heap of legal trouble after she was indicted in connection to an alleged scheme involving fraudulent lawsuits sparked by staged car crashes, according to authorities. Vanessa Motta, 43, is facing federal charges after she allegedly took part in the plot by representing plaintiffs in the bogus crashes along with another lawyer. Motta, her fiancé, Sean Alfortish, who is a disbarred lawyer, and several others all took part in the complex conspiracy in which individuals orchestrated car accidents, including intentionally colliding with 18-wheelers, around the New Orleans area, prosecutors alleged, according to reports. The drivers, known as the slammers, would cause the crash, and then flee the scene with the help of another getaway driver, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The slammer’s passenger would then claim to be operating the vehicle leading up to the car wreck, the feds said. The scheme also involved individuals acting as witnesses to claim the other vehicle was at fault, prosecutors said. Motta allegedly got involved by filing fraudulent claims and fraudulent lawsuits following the crashes – which she pleaded not guilty to on Monday, according to Nola.com. After she and others became aware of an investigation into the scheme, the defendants allegedly committed various acts of obstruction of justice and witness tampering. In one instance, an alleged slammer, Ryan Harris, is accused of killing a former co-conspirator, Cornelius Garrison, to help cover up the crimes, according to authorities. article continues in next post

Yes, very. And what you said is not healthy thinking. It's one thing to be attracted to someone, but to be in that position and seriously consider doing it is not healthy. |

Vaginas are not flowers. lol Are you sure there's actually an odor? -It could just be a yeast infection, which frankly, could be caused or worsened by you and your hygiene. -Also, I'm honestly not trying to be offensive, but I notice that closeted/gay men talk about female body odor a lot. It seems like they can't handle their own feelings and are trying to justify it. As for a solution, you could tell your girlfriend that you suspect that you got an infection or rash from a public toilet, and that you're going to go get ointment or visit the doctor. Tell her that she should do the same because you may have passed it to her. Also, you both should shower before and after sex. |
It's interesting that Christians seem far more capable of being critical of Christianity and followers, and walking away from the religion than Muslims. Christians who haven't even seen anything especially horrible will criticize and leave the faith every day. They'll even try to discourage others. But Muslims will make all kinds of excuses and defend the religion despite the terrible things coming from it. |
olayinka63:No one is being singled out. There's been plenty of examples of them busting oyinbos in the news recently. And the article doesn't rate police. It specifically says that one of the main reasons for the inquiry is to look at officials. The article also does mention Muslims: She lamented reading “a shocking example of social workers attending a 'Nikah', an Islamic wedding ceremony, between an abuser and his victim” from court evidence. This crime is very much specifically about Pakistanis and Muslims. |
I have to give Kenyans credit yet again for their bravery and determination. And big up Kenya's gen z. Just wow. They're setting an example for the global black community on standing up to neocolonialism, puppets, and corruption. I feel like people need to send them money to support everything they're doing. |

An Ohio teacher who refused to use students preferred pronouns will take home $450,000 in a legal settlement with the local school district. Vivian Geraghty brought the suit against the Jackson Local School District, about 20 miles south of Akron, in 2022 after she was told to resign from a middle school language arts position over her stance on the matter. “The school tried to force Vivian to accept and repeat the school’s viewpoint on issues that go to the foundation of morality and human identity, like what makes us male or female, by ordering her to personally participate in the social transition of her students,” Logan Spena a legal counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, the organization representing Geraghty told local NBC4 Ohio. “The First Amendment prohibits that abuse of power, and Jackson Local School District officials have learned that comes at a steep cost,” Spena added. The settlement, reach last month, came after the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio ruled in August that the school’s pronoun policy was “not neutral” and that forcing Geraghty to use preferred pronouns was a form of “compelled speech.” The brouhaha began in 2022 after Geraghty said two students request she use names that align “with their new gender identities rather than their legal names.” Another student had wanted to be called by different pronouns, citing a school policy requiring teachers to use students’ preferred pronouns. Geraghty held firm, however, refusing to use either the pronouns or the students’ new names, citing her “religious beliefs and constitutional rights.” The school subsequently forced her to resign. https://nypost.com/2025/01/04/us-news/ohio-teacher-vivian-geraghty-who-refused-students-preferred-pronouns-wins-450k/ |
New York is seeing the hidden toll of legal weed: violence, psychosis and mayhem https://nypost.com/2025/01/06/opinion/hidden-toll-of-nys-legal-weed-violence-psychosis-and-mayhem/ At first I thought this was an absurd argument, but when you think about the 70s and how weed was everywhere, and the kinds of crimes that happened...maybe this is something that should be examined. That said, I think medical mari**ana is a viable, safe solution for some conditions and health issues. We can't ignore the possible benefits of some substances because of issues like this. For example, psilocybin can be dangerous, but it has also been a miracle drug. It's given people relief from conditions existing medicine cannot help. |
Cops still bullshitting, talking about a "bRoKeN sYsTeM." If there's any legislation putting violent, repeat offenders with footage of the crime and a bunch of witnesses out on the street, name it. But they can't because it's bs. NYC sees spike in felony assaults by repeat offenders as top cops blame ‘broken system’ https://nypost.com/2025/01/07/us-news/nyc-sees-staggering-146-5-spike-in-felony-assaults-by-repeat-offenders-as-top-cops-broken-system-that-keeps-putting-criminals-back-on-street/ Some of them seem to be pushing for harsher laws that would be used almost exclusively to terrorize black people. And when these things were in place, crime was higher. And specifically, since they want to claim it's mentally ill people, history has shown us how whites and males abuse the mental health laws in the US, and just weaponize them against women, black people, and various minorities. This reminds me of how the UK still has these laws, and in a country where black people are 3.7% of the population: https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/health/mental-health/detentions-under-the-mental-health-act/latest/#by-ethnicity-5-ethnic-groups Summary |
