Family / Re: What Do You Think Is Wrong With African Style Of Parenting? by Craigbrown4076: 11:18pm On May 19, 2020
Very interesting topic I must say.

I see people coming on here to criticize the Western way of upbringing. The truth is ours is even worse. And this is glaringly evident in our respective societies.

Do not allow Western media to deceive you, while the modern parents are complacent, the truant behavior exhibited by children is simply as a result of weak parenting, which also applies to us here.

Let me ask, how many people in our Nigerian society actual possess good "morals"?

You complain about homosexuality being the order of the day in the Western world. It is the same here, only difference is that we don't have laws promoting their existence.

Sadly, our society cannot be compared to that of the Western world and parenting has a large role to play with that.

All the beatings and corporal punishment in school has not amounted to anything profitable.

I could go on...

Danielhouston:

Yeah the question was a bit out of nowhere and not the best choice of words but it is VERY important. That was why I answered it. White people usually look older than their age and consent is a huge thing here. Messing with the wrong person can land someone in jail. You’ll find these youngins in clubs trying to act grown and doing grown people things. You’ll also find them on dating apps. Some of them lie about their age but be careful. The police won’t hear that.

A LOT of people including black people are in prison for sex crimes. 2 years ago, a Nigerian boy got in trouble for messing with a teenage German boy. I don’t know the particular details about that story. Such things happen a lot here.

These are things we don’t take seriously in Nigeria. That’s why you’ll see 13 year old girls serving as house maids and getting raped by their boss. Even those teenage street hawkers who get touched by irresponsible adults. If only these discussions came up more, people would be aware of what age limit the boundaries are set.

This information is part of German law and foreigners coming into the country should know it. Consent age is 16. In rare circumstances, 14.
Quite educative... Thanks for your response

what is the consent sex age or what do they call it?
An age someone can be dubbed to be ripe for relationship and sex.

Guy this your question is weird and it reeks of Paedophilia. Just look at your choice of words. undecided

I wonder why you would be interested in knowing that

Madam please don't mind that guy called Mikky. He is an arrogant person. I had a similar experience with him last year. I told him my name only for him to ask for ID. Before i could give him he called me names saying he was already into the business before his father was born. He blockd me afterwards without waiting for my response.

Thanks Sir. Let's talk work permit. Can i apply in the IT sector and get a job?
RuudVanNisteroy:

Netherlands has similar requirements if your on a student that just graduated or ona work visa :

- you have a 12 month period to find a job that offers you a full-time position or contract for at least 12 months and pays you a minimim amount ehy specify.

- After you you complete the 12 months work requirement you get a Blue Card which is valid pan Europe and given for 33 months. By then after 33 months you should have completed the time living and working in Netherlands to apply for a PR.

Any similar package for the Netherlands?
RuudVanNisteroy:

I know most countries don't require you to get a job in your field. You could have graduated with an Engineering degree and filed for permanent residence with a fast food supervisor position.

What they have is a National Occupational Classification of different job titles that usually required a University degree or Diploma. And as long as you get any job under that classification and you are able to file for permanent residency after a certain time period usually 6 months-12 months.

For example in Canada you can graduate in any degree and as long as you get a job under skill set 0-B under their National Occuptional Classification and work at least 1 year full-time in that job you can file for permanent residence
.

If you have one year I.T experience even in a Nigerian bank you are able to file for permanent residence. If you work for a reputable organization it is easier for them to verify your work experience.

You are are a very selfish person
Jim99:

Don't force it man. It'll come naturally at the later stages.

You married a bad woman, unfortunately. So I'll advise you divorce her and relocate permanently if you value your health cuz you might end up developing a high blood pressure thinking about it.

Your happiness and health should be your number 1 priority right now. Cuz life would go on for them with or without you.

Do what makes you happy, call your kids or visit them from time to time. It's your life, they are just part of your journey through life.

The most important part of your life is yourself, not your job, kids or wife.

I only went on a visit to Belgium for a church program. You can't tell a difference between the two countries, they look exactly the same and sound alike just with a different dialect.

I am not sure how their immigration program works, Belgium is often overlooked by Nigerians.
Yeah i noticed that alot of Nigerians on NL don't talk about Belgium as well. But what do
vou think man?

Being born there does not give you automatic citizenship if your parents are not Dutch. My sister was also born there as well and it is not a citizen.
If you are born to foreign parents you have maintain residence in Holland for at least 6 months a year to keep it.
You have to get citizenship thorough the student route. Get admission to a University and graduate and find a company that will sponsor you for permanent residence and after a couple of years you obtain citizenship.
Oh. That's sad seeing that I'm not a citizen. Thanks for your time. It's well appreciated. The Netherlands really have a strict immigration policy
