From News reports, A Student of University of Calabar, Miss Veroncia Bako from History and International Studies Department was reported committed suicide over being fraud of N100,000.

From the investigation we gathered, the late student login online on Friday Morning and started chatting with a fraudster who introduced her to an "investment scheme that will double her money".

She decide to transfer a sum of N100,000 which happen to be her school fees, she was yet to pay her fees due to pandemic.

After she discovered it was a scam, she was depressed. By 10am, her sister's noticed she was down, she told them that she's fine. The deceased was compiling a list for her mother to go the market.

The Governor of Plateau state, Barr. Simon Bako Lalong has assure the people of Plateau state that he is working on appointing cabinets who will work for next the 4 years of his current administration.

The Governor has been criticised for not appointing his cabinet members since he begin his 2nd term in office.

In an interview with Vanguard Newspaper, the Governor stated that;

It is on the basis of this direction that I would do my selection of commissioners, decide the kind of ministry, arrangement and combination that will best deliver for our people.

Immediately I got the preliminary report, I set the ball rolling and appointed the Secretary to the Government and the Chief of Staff who are the engine room.

So, technically, like I said during the swearing in of the Secretary to the Government and Chief of Staff, I have finished drafting out the list of my cabinet. I am only waiting for Mr. Speaker who travelled out of the country.

As soon as he is back, I will submit it to him. Once the Assembly screen and confirm the nominees, we will continue the implementation of the economic plan of the state.

These are some of the things that delayed the appointment of the commissioners.

You know for Politicians, some will say, I want to be there, I want to be here. This is not the issue of where you want to be, it is the issue of what can we do for the people of Plateau State in the next four years.

According to Unity FM, the University of Jos management had ordered the relocation of its senate and administrative office from Main Campus to Permanent site Naraguta campus.

The Vice Chancellor of Unijos, Prof. Sebastian Maimako gave the order when unveiling the newly constructed administrative/Senate building of the University on Monday. The V.C said:

"I here by direct all administrative staff of the university to move to the permanent site immediately".

The movement agenda from the main campus to the permanent site kick started in 2010, with some faculties; Law, Engineering amongst others moving to the Permanent site.

The Senate building is to accommodate administrative staff, management staff and lectures.

The newly Senate/Administrative building is a 400 capacity building with modern facilities including an emergency exit.

The building has two committee rooms that qccomodates 30 seat each with boardroom.

It has a standby generator to provide adequate power supply in the building.

The Vice Chancellor was excited and thanked staff who contributed to the success of the project.

He pleaded with staff to handle the facilities carefully.

The Chairman of University Governing council, Chief Tony Momoh was ably represented by member of the council Dr. Philomena Mukbang.

Just less than 24 hours Customs Service announced the open of service portal for recruitment exercise, more than 91,000 applicants have submitted their application through the portal.

According to TheTribune Newspaper, one of the custom officers told NAN that “as at 4:00 P.M, the applications of 91,000 applicants were successfully received.”

NAN also reported that the portal was open by 12:00am this Morning for the recruitment of 3,200 officers into the Customs Service.

The People Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Uche Secondrus has told the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yabuku to resign his position as the INEC chairman.

This came after, the INEC boss postponed the Presidential elections and Governorship election dates.

The PDP chairman stated this through his Media aide, Mr. Ike Abonyi by a statement issued.

“Having failed in all their nefarious options to enable them cling on to power, the APC and the INEC came up with the idea of shifting the election, an action that is dangerous to our democracy and is therefore unacceptable,” he said.

“The APC in connivance with the INEC have been trying all options including but not limited to burning down INEC offices in some states and destroying of electoral materials to create artificial problems upon which to stand for their dubious act, ” DailyTrust reports.

For over two months, since the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have been on strike with no positive outlook.

After several meeting, with no positive outcome between the two parties to settle their disputes over the strike action.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu told Journalists during a press conference on Friday, said there is possibility the ASUU Strike may be called off by next week, Daily Trust reports.

He said,

''Perhaps, by next week, I hope the ASUU strike will be over''.

However, the striking lecturers stood their ground still their demands are meet by the government they will not suspend the strike.

After the Federal Government and ASUU had a close door meeting which lasted for 4 hours today. The President of ASUU, Biodun Ogunyemi has told Journalists that the meeting has ended and there are some areas needed to be address.

He said, “We have not suspended the strike, the discussion will continue at a later date. We are going back to our members for further consultation. FG gave us reaction to our proposals but there were still grey areas that we are trying to sort out.

“Before the strike can be suspended, the most critical area that FG must address is revitalization. It is central to our academic work, unless that area is addressed, our members will still have issues. We are not demanding for N50bn, we are saying that the minimum that FG can release to reactivate revitalization fund is N50bn.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige said the government have agree to meet up with the demands of the Union and waiting for ASUU Leadership for another meeting.

The Minister also added, “We did not take a long time than we anticipated. We have other commitments but the important thing is that we have made substantial progress. We have reached some agreements in seven areas. Most of the issues have been resolved but ASUU will need to consult its members and come with what they think.

The meeting which held at the Ministry of Labour and Productivity in Abuja, where both parties meet to end the ongoing strike unfortunately it ended in a negative outcome.

According to the Minister of Labour and Productivity Chris Ngige, told newsmen the government and the Union will still meet again on December 17th, 2018 solve disputes.

He also added, the Monday discussion will move a step closer to end the strike soon.

The ASUU President Biodun Ogunyemi, said, the Union will still meet with the government next week to know how far as the government able to fullfill its promise before suspended the strike.

According to campus news sources, there was a clash between Christian and Muslim students in Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa state, it was reported one student was killed and others sustained serious injuries.

The clash reported to have occur on Sunday and lingered on still Monday, the fight started when the Christian students won majority of seats in the Student Union elections. This victory further led to attack of the Christians during their fellowship.

While the students of the university are at the process of starting examination yesterday, the school management had an emergence meeting and ordered all academic activities to stop and all students to leave the school premises till further notice.

The dean of students told journalists that four lecture halls and some equipments were destroyed.
