Phones / Re: Is The New $600 iPhone Really Worth Investing In? by cream2(m): 11:15am On Jun 27, 2007 |
The very first time I saw the iphone, I literally had tears in my eyes - damm that baby is fine. I do agree with most posters though that its generally advisable to wait till the modifications have been made and the phone perfected from real user experiences. HOWEVER, there are those that get a buzz from getting a piece of kit at launch when no one else has it, cool factor comes to mind, not just with your peers but also with yourself knowing that you were part of the very first who rocked this. Whether I would 'invest' in this? No but I would buy, cause once you bought it the value has already dropped and will never rise again unless you dont use it and it becomes a classic! |

Business / Re: How To Manage People? by cream2(m): 7:02pm On May 17, 2007 |
My interpretation of his ideas is that if we properly guide/instruct/delegate to our people, we wont need to manage them because they will know what needs to be done and do it* *But of course this assumes in the first place we have chosen the right staff and they are motivated appropriately |
Business / Re: How To Manage People? by cream2(m): 6:37pm On May 17, 2007 |
Seun, I feel your plight. I also am an entrepreneur and have seen my staff numbers explode in the 3-4 months we have been in operations. Before setting up on my own, i had never managed a staff team before and boy oh boy did I get a shock! Basically everything went belly up and it has the potential to kill your business hence I had to do something. A book was recommend to me called 'The rules of management by Richard Templar' and one of the best things I got from the book is the following statement; The good manager, and that is you from now on, knows that they manage events, processes, situations, strategies but never people. To me thats a revelation right there and I'm still working through the book and trying some of the ideas on my people and so far so good so I definitely recommend it. Good luck dude |

Romance / Re: Nigerian Honeymoon by cream2(m): 3:08pm On May 11, 2007 |
Congrats on the upcoming wedding, I wish you well. There aren't that many places 'yet' in Nigeria that you could honeymoon but below are a few of my ideas; * Halemson Beach Resort www.halemsonbeachresort.com * Obudu * Yankari Or you could try Sao Tome en Principe which is a 45 minute flight from Lagos and Aero has a direct flight there once a week and you could stay at the Bom Bom resort www.bom-bom.com Whatever you do, have fun! |
Computers / Re: How Is Swift Broadband? by cream2(m): 9:31am On May 11, 2007 |
I use SWIFT in my office and whilst its not the fastest, it works well. There has been a few times when the link went down but they have managed to put it back up within 2-3 hours. Comparable to what other people pay for and get, I am VERY happy! |

I too think its bloody ridiculous but then again Naija is a young democracy, I say let the FG do whatever is reasonably necessary to ensure that the elections hold. Everyone fails to remember that all the western countries were once in this position where anarchy ruled, |

Phones / Re: Starcomms' New 0702/07028 Lines by cream2(m): 10:36am On Mar 12, 2007 |
The 'SIM' that comes with it is not actually a SIM but a R-UIM (Re-Useable Identification Module) it was developed for CDMA handsets that is equivalent to the GSM SIM and 3G USIM except that it is capable of working in both CDMA and GSM phones and networks. Take a look at this link for more info; http://www.cdmatech.com/products/ruim.jsp |
Phones / Re: Starcomms' New 0702/07028 Lines by cream2(m): 1:42pm On Mar 08, 2007 |
Drogba, Its not actually a GSM line, its works just as the existing Starcomms CDMA lines work. I don't know if the tariff is the same but i would expect it to be and I understand that they will be changing from sometime next week and when I mean change, the prices are not expected to change more like a shake up and consolidation of their existing tariffs to make them all unified. Also I have heard rumours of a revolutionary new tariff being developed - don't ask me what it is though, cause i have no clue! Ciao |

Jobs/Vacancies / System Admin Vacancy [lan & Pbx] by cream2(m): 9:19am On Nov 14, 2006 |
Hi Guys, Verity Contact Centre [VCC] is looking for an experienced systems administrator who can install and manage our LAN. We are also looking for the same person to manage the PBX so any experience of Avaya would be an advantage. VCC is a start-up business so the right candidate would be expected to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in therefore a can do attitude is more important than paper qualifications. Our offices are in Victoria Island and we are nice bunch of people not to mention as much free coca cola as you can handle, so if your CV matches or you know someone that does then please ask them to send it to jobs@veritycontactcentre.com with the title 'Systems Admin Vacancy [LAN & PBX] Thanks Yomi lilttle note: DO NOT send any files larger than 150KB as they are automatically deleted before they reach us |

@ Akolawole Take your time to read posts properly and crucially "think" about what was written. |
Business / Re: How Do Credit Cards Work? by cream2(m): 12:26pm On Jul 08, 2006 |
Walelead, A credit card is a line of credit, you apply to a bank or credit card company and they provide you with say £10,000 worth of credit that you access via the card. So if you pay for good or services with the card up to the amount of £2,000 then your balance is £2,000 and thats what you pay monthly interest on. The rate can be anywhere from 7% to 25% this is dependent on your credit rating. When you use your credit card to pay for a transaction online or otherwise, there is no charge to you. It is the merchant who pays a small percentage fee which enables him/her to accept that form of payment but of course he has already factored that into the price he is charging you for the goods or service. In my opinion, I think credit cards can be quite useful only if you are disciplined (I know people personally who have started successful business's on credit card borrowings) and not inclined to go on shopping spree's but then how many of us are like that? Hope this has helped. Rgds 1 Like |
