Are you trying to piggy bank on the well known bulk SMS portal known as smslive247.com ?

Pronounce smsNAIJA247 and smsLIVE247 and ask yourself if they sound similar. Or since smslive247 has 247 in their name, nobody should use 247 in their name again?

Webmasters / Domain Name Has Expired, Yet Not Available For Registration by CreativeWeb(m): 6:34pm On May 30, 2015
A prospective bulk sms reseller chose a wonderful domain name. When I wanted to register it for him, I discovered that the .com and .net extensions of the domain are not available. I check the domain name on who.is and discovered that it was registered in 2009 and expired in 2010. Yet, the domain is still not available after 5 years. What is the secret here?
Webmasters / Re: My Advice To All Nigerian Developers by CreativeWeb(m): 3:00am On May 30, 2015
Nice piece. This boils down to forming a small formidable team that will include web developers, web ui/ux designers and graphics designers. However, if forming a team is difficult, then outsourcing the area you are not strong in to others, makes sense.

***

I am a web developer (coder) and also very good in ui/ux design and graphics (coreldraw, photoshop), but I now work majorly with joomla and wordpress. However, if I get a project that demands some custom development, I wil hire a coder because I am more stronger doing the ui/ux designs.

In order to create another source of income, I started what you could call the Nigeria's leading bulk sms portal: www.smsnaija247.com

Trust me sir, dw was built purely to serve as 'a web design graphic tool'. The major focus was actually the design view. Adobe added the code view because it wil be wierd to have it without a code view. Adobe specializes in graphics software. Raster graphics (photoshop), vector graphics (illustrator), magazine graphics (indesign), web graphics (dream weaver), video graphics (premiere), etc.

Dw is good, but web design community world wide rejected it because it was not built for them. Adobe built it for 'designers.'

Please Oga, is there anything that notepad++ can do that Dreamweaver cant?

Well, except you want to use it as a text editor. But dw was not actually built to serve as a text editor. It was built for graphics designers that use adobe graphics software so that they can use their graphics skill to become an automatic web designers by doing drag and drop in dw. This is why you can design a nice template on photoshop and slice it and export as html and dw will convert it to a website using table. Wierd.

Webmasters / Best Wordpress Plugins Of All Times by CreativeWeb(m): 3:59pm On May 13, 2015
I know what you’re thinking. You’ve already seen 15 best WordPress plugins posts this month and you can’t possibly read another one. Trust me, I feel your pain. It seems like every popular website has some arbitrary list of the best WordPress plugins of 2015, 2014, and 2013, on their blog. The thing is, most of them are totally full of crap.

I’m going to say it right now: I hate most WordPress plugins. They’re terrible. They’re poorly coded, hard to use, full of bugs and security holes, and they’ll slow down your website. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either misinformed, being disingenuous, or has an ulterior motive (like affiliate revenue).

This Ain’t Your Average Best WordPress Plugins Post

This isn’t just some half-baked list of untested plugins that seem super cool and might make me a bunch of affiliate money. No, this is something much better than that. This is a list of the best WordPress plugins ever created since the dawn of time. Alright, maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, but seriously, I’ve spent a TON of time choosing, reviewing, and testing every single plugin on this list.

These are WordPress plugins that solve real problems and do so in a way that won’t damage your website. I can’t promise they’re 100% free of security issues or bugs, but I can tell you that everything listed in this post is far above average when it comes to code quality, usability, performance, and attention to detail.

These Plugins Have Been Through The Wringer…

All the plugins in this post have poked and prodded by yours truly. I’ve seen under the hood and I’ve even run performance tests on some of the larger ones. They were all installed on a WP_DEBUG-enabled multisite network with lots of other plugins. I looked for potential conflicts, slow-downs, and any obvious bugs.

Sadly, a few plugins didn’t make the cut because of code quality. If I wouldn’t feel comfortable running a plugin on my own personal or business website, it is not on this list, period.

Now, without further ado, let’s get into it! In no particular order, these are what I consider to be some of the best WordPress plugins ever made. Read the 41 best wordpress plugins here:

Webmasters / Bulk SMS Not Delivering To MTN Numbers In PH. Why? by CreativeWeb(m): 12:12pm On May 12, 2015
Have you experienced this? A client (reseller) just complained to me that when he's outside PH, his sms will be delivered to MTN numbers. But when he's in PH, it will not deliver. The portal delivers to other gsm networks. Does mtn has issue with PH?

Webmasters / Re: Please Help Me On Joomla Installtion!!! by CreativeWeb(m): 4:46am On May 11, 2015
You can use auto installer in your cpanel and it will do everything for you.

Or just create a database, create a user with password. Then download latest version of joomla and unpack it in your root folder. Then go to your browser and trying visit your website. The installation wizard will start. Provide the details. Your db name, username and password. And other few details and then install.

Are you on online or offline?

is that easy to get speaking engagements?

It's not easy ooo. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Meet the camp director and negotiate with him. If he says you will have to pay, see if you can ask him to consider you since you are a student or graduate trying to create an income for yourself through the business. He may reason with you. But if he insists you must pay and the money you are asked to pay is big, then simply share your handbills without requesting for a speaking session. Cheers.

Weldone @OP. But if you ask me, no serious genuine Bulk SMS marketer needs this strategy. The camp officials will demand money for this to be done. Everything is real money in camp. That is another GRA of corruption in this country. Moreover, a good percentage of the corpers in camp have smartphones, hence all make use of whatsapp. They create groups and share info, ideas, etc via the platform. The best place to market such a business is in churches. If your prices are "Fair" enough, in no time you will become a DON in the biz. Go to schools and take departmental presidents on a N200 per plate lunch in the school. While at the eatry, sell your idea to them and see how much response you will garner. Be that as it may, everything still depends on the price of your sms right from the very first unit. My people say that AFIA OMA NA-ERE ONWE YA (A GOOD MARKET/MERCHANDISE SELLS ITSELF).

You made some nice points. However, whatsapp CAN NEVER take the place of bulk sms messaging. This is sending sms to 10,000 to 1,000,000 numbers at a time. The Corp members are like to join the bulk sms business, so they will be a reseller under me. I dont take chances. I market my bulk sms business to any sane person that is a bit enlightened.
Webmasters / Bulk SMS Marketing Strategy You Can Use Now by CreativeWeb(m): 8:36am On May 09, 2015
The Batch A of NYSC Corp Members are in the camps now. You can quickly print a one color flyer and go to the camp in your state and distribute to the corp members. You can even book a speaking session from camp officials to speak to the corpers. Each camp has at least 2000 corp members. Go and market your bulk sms business to them.

Hmm...it is even the Network providers that are giving these scammers field to play by making sms expensive.

The same Airtel in Nigeria is operating here in Kenya and dashing out sms. l use their monthly Unlimitnet package which cost me 1000ksh (N2,100) gives me 2GB of data, 400 mins calls to all networks in Kenya and 2000sms to all networks in Kenya. So with this how can a bulksms business survive, not to talk of fraudulent ones?

I understand your point. However, can you send sms at once to 10,000 or 1,000,000 gsm numbers from your phone? It's not possible. Bulk sms messaging cannot die. It's used even in the most advanced country.

Can't Nigeria just stand out for once?. . Is it Only Afrisoft? Can't a bulk sms business hire a developer to develop a custom BulkSMS website for them? Must it be joomla or Afrisoft? You spend N15000 on component when you can get other great Sms Softwares written in PHP at lesser prices... or even build your own..

#ish undecided

Must people you are trying to target receive credit card payment around the world using lhpay.net? Why shouldnt they build their own payment processing stuff or start a payment processing business?

We must start from somewhere. We should even patronize afrisoft's spc more than jeema or any other sms software because spc is indigenous.

It's not everyone that can code a joomla sms component or a custom php sms portal. And not everyone can pay a developer via freelancer to do that for him.

We can start with spc and probably go on with something more robust and better.
Webmasters / Re: Dubious Price List By Bulk SMS Platform by CreativeWeb(m): 2:59pm On May 08, 2015
You are right. You will have to always read the billing charges on their pricing page. However, like you rightly pointed out, some bulk sms providers are dubious that they will not tell you how they charge when you send an sms.

On www.smsnaija247.com, you will pay #1.60kobo per sms. And we charge 1 unit equals to 1 sms flat to all gsm networks. However, make sure your message does not exceed the 160 characters, which is international standard for 1 page of sms. If you have 161 characters, you will be charged #3.20kobo for 2 pages.

Cheers.

Register and host your domain atç www.siteground.com then create an account on youtube and start uploading your videos there.

You will need a good wordpress video theme to design the website. You can use a theme called beetube. I can do that for you. Thanks.

1. Both .tv and .com are top level domain extension. .tv is however more expensive. If your website is majorly about videos or online streaming, then .tv is better.

2. If you want to have a website where you will be uploading videos without using youtube, then you will really need a website with a very high plan. However, to make life easier for you, just create an account on youtube and then upload the videos from youtube. Youtube wil be hosting the videos while people will be watching them on your website.

3. Online tv? Do you mean online live video streaming?

Webmasters / Re: Reasons Why Nigerians Love Cms, Plugins And Frameworks A Lot by CreativeWeb(m): 4:31pm On May 03, 2015
directonpc:

Those guys u mentioned coded those theme from scratch and am very sure they have their own custom made applications on some other platforms. They didn't become millionaire from using cms without using their head to program.

You said they coded those themes from scratch. Exactly. That is my point. That we should start coding themes and plugins for wordpress. Cms is good, but like I said earlier, we should not just use wordpress like babies. We should use it like a pro. We should be ready to be developing wp themes and selling at themeforest. We should start forking wp and turning it around and extend it.

We should learn web development and cms. If we get project for custom web dev, we wil do it. If we get project for cms, we will do it. The reason why it seems we ar using cms a lot is because we get projects that mostly demand for cms.

If you hav passion to develop an application like cloudflare, youtube, google, voguepay, etc, then go for it. If you want to be a good web developer that specializes in building themes for cms, then go for it.
