Christianity Etc › Re: Sexual Compatibility : How Can It Be Discussed In A Christian Relationship? by Crieff(m): 5:13pm On Oct 29, 2017 |
supersystemsnig: Now this is the problem ... This generation has been lied to, with the notion of sexual compatibility, this never existed back in the 90s, but to make people drift off course, a seduction was required. The answers lies in the heart and not in the sexual organs. The heart because, the will of both individuals involved in the relationship is where the answer lies. If both individuals wish to honour God than pleasure ( DOn't forget the book of Ecclesiastes in this matter), both will honour God, have good sex lie, and won't be easily dissatisfied with lack of expectations, but too much experimentation brought this generation with a staunch fear that has perverted and contaminated people into a " fixed " state...where the fear of will he/she match my sexual prowess exists..
First, we need to deal with the fear, and deal with our hearts. If we have a God first approach, and God above other things, then we will be fine. So the answer lies in finding someone that has the same reverence with God as us, so the downsides can be complemented in our devotion to God and other areas.
If we truly love God, then the bedmatics won't take the front seat, we accord it.
If we truly want to honour God, then we would deny ourselves pleasure
If we truly are true to honest standards, being single should have impacted some lessons in self denial and restraint and control
If we truly want to honour God, and follow His standards, then we won't give this issue the level of concern we give it
Hope this helps Thank you for your sound contribution. It's a terrible cycle to fall into when you exalt pleasure over God...and such couple with such worldview of "sexual compatibility" still fall into the sin of adultery. Thank you for the wholesome perspective. |

NevetsIbot: nope. They've just seen so much of the bad side of many igbo girls.. Their rudeness, greed and all. Also, two of my uncles married igbo ladies. Should I say the first one had turned her husbands head away from home. Second wife poked mum in the eye three days after the wedding till now.
I had the unpleasant priviledge to see two display for me last month. Very contumacious set of women. They mostly show no iota of contrite at all.
I too wouldnt try to marry an ibo lady. Liked your post not because of the context of its content, i'm indifferent to that but to the choice of word: contumacious. So unnairalandly. |

Family › Re: Response To RMD On The Plight Of The Boy Child by Crieff(m): 11:12pm On Mar 28, 2017*. Modified: 12:07am On Mar 29, 2017 |
Hi HumanistMike, I read your piece and I get where you're coming from. I have often wondered, and for a very long time too, the seeming collusion of silence and neglect of the boy child. I am acutely aware of the gradual and unobtrusive emasculation of the male folk in popular media and the overall "relegation" for want of a more apt word, of the male gender.
And yes, the neglect of society and the silence of the inputs of father figures, balanced, wholesome and sound father figures are all contributory to the prevalence of this de-masculining. I see this when a female is employed in a particular post just because she is female and not on merit. I see it in the feminized face of every day commodities' adverts, it is present in movies too but perhaps , the loudest of it is the silenced voice of the boy child, and by extension, the male gender.
I believe this is not about gender supremacy. I have always believed and held the two gender to be equal. I have never for once believed in the superiority of the male over the female or vice-versa for that matter.
Personally, I wonder why bonding amongst male is not emphasized strongly enough. I am a Christian. I wonder sometimes what the Men's fellowship of churches do apart from talk about money or marital relationships. I wonder where the vast horde of fatherless men are expected to get validation from. The street? Gangs? Cults? Alcohol? From men with a warped, skewed or twisted outlook on life? Men like Kashamu BuruSomething - that drug baron oaf senator from Ogun state, Dino? Rappers or even men like RMD, lover boys?
You observe a typical Sunday, the population of women in churches is more than men and that is definitely with a significant difference. You wonder what the churches are doing in getting these men to church? Will they continue to joke around the absence of men in churches? Do they think that the consequences of the failure of men's absence in the church is limited to the church? That it will not spread to the family, to leadership, to finance, to their relationships, their work, their community?
Yes, we should help men as much as they can nor should they refuse to help women because they are female but rather because we can help at that particular point in time. In the same vein, the development of the girl child should not be at the expense of the boy child too. However, do not let this contaminate the clarity of the mind of what it is really about. |

I love Seun's strategy most of all.
Unlike LI and allied blogs, which you'll immediately know is all about making money with intrusive ads everywhere, NL is simple, structured and the ads do not get into your face. It is the most pleasant and eye pleasing "blog" of 'em all. Technically again, it loads even much faster than all the other monetised blogs.
Seun himself is quiet and unassuming, knows what he wants, cooks up a strategy and execute it. He still remains the number one of them all. |
