The north is the most important thing here. They won the election for buhari.
Buhari just needed to split southern votes which he did. Even with all the voter apathy and the zero northern support, GEJ had 12 million,while buhari had 15million.
A difference of 3million is not too much overall when extrapolating it to 2019 politics.

The voting pattern there is highly irrational.
