There is no political will to fight kidnapping and banditry.
I remember when kidnappers took over abia state.
Obasanjo unleashed the military with a strong mandate and kidnappers were obliterated.
We will have to wait for a competent president to move the needle on security. |

How your southern state stand with respect to Ruga will depend on the proximity of your governor to Buhari.
The closer your southern governor is to Buhari, the more likely he is to accept Ruga. |

Even Jonathan a former president is not a regional strongman.
Tinubu is lucky to be from Yoruba land. His people are always looking for a leader. |

Take $1b to Russia for the SU-25, and you would get a much better deal.
And the SU-25 is better than the tucanos for me. |

TWoods: Chances that the US will sell the B2 Spirit to Nigeria... well below 0%. Even if there is a -500% chance of them selling to us, we can't even afford it. One B-2 spirit goes for over 2 billion dollars. I don't even think of their closest allies can afford it. |
Politics › Re: National Assembly Members In US To See Progress Of Work On Super Tucano Aircraft by CSTRR: 7:04am On May 29, 2021 |
TWoods: We do need F-16s at some point but it is doubtful we will ever be able to purchase them. What we need are A-10 Warthog aircraft... absolute beasts as close-air support for ground troops. Far superior to the Super Tucano. You ain't getting the A-10. The Americans don't put much stock in the tucanos, possibly why they agreed to sell it to us. At the very least, if we have gotten the SU-25 frogfoot, it would have been a more competent plane and a better use of money. |

NightHawke: @Naptu2 Nice recap. My concern with this aircraft is the AAG's already been used by BH against both our fighter jets, frontal commands, mobile assets, and ground troops.
Ammunition from Libyan sources is available to BH inclusive of our bases that were previously overrun. I hope the Tucano truly gives us the desired tactical advantage otherwise it's like flying an improved Cessna plane. Whoever advised the airforce to get tucanos is an idiot. They are used when you have completely secured the airspace. And that is not something we can guarantee in the North East. We should have used that money to get few more supersonic jets, preferably Russian. $1b for subsonic luxuries. Crazy. |

For a people that have experienced the unimaginable pains and lost of the civil war, one whold expect the igbos to be less sentimental and more tactical is their dealings with the Nigerian Government.
For a region that has suffered marginalization from the Federal government's one would have expected the igbos to stop wailing, put their thinking cap on, invest and relocate most of their investment to the south east in a more unifying way instead of expecting others to do it for them.
Instead you guys are wailing up and down and allowing riffraffs in the name of ipob to destroy the little infrastructures you have in the east and turning your region into a cemetery.....
Igbos please stop being unnecessarily emotional and start acting in a more logical and strategic way. Now, I have seen the root of your problem. Take a bus ,go to Imo State and say this to them. |

No sir Nigeria has nothing to lose if they successfully turn south east to another war zone rather it is the igbos that will lose much more than you can imagine.
And guess what ? The Federal government will not intervene with any development Commission like they are doing in North East because it is a non fact the That FG don't really give a fuccck about the east. And the igbos are distinct from Nigeria? With close proximity to the south south. So the billions of dollars that will be spent trying to bring peace is paper? What of the ripple effect into other regions? The economic consequences. You think other seccessionist groups in other parts of Nigeria will not rise up.? You are talking nonsense. Besides, the North East is at the far end of Nigeria. And we are still feeling it. The south east is right in the strategic areas of the country. It would be a hundred fold worse Even Countries are always scared of war in their neighbouring countries, let alone an internal war. |

Oga let us be honest Nnamdi kanu and is IPOB miscreants gave the Nigerian government the perfect opportunities to do what they are currently doing in the east. Nnamdi kanu is an idiot. A megalomaniac and a lunatic. I don't deny that. But the Federal govt is an ever bigger idiot. Fighting fire with fire. Creating more chaos where there shouldn't be. And Nnamdi kanu has taken advantage of that. It's like China going to war with North Korea. China has a lot to lose, North Korea doesn't. Kanu has nothing to lose. Nigeria has everything to lose. Peace is one of them. Billions of Dollars that should go into infrastructure now spent on conflict resolution. |

This is astounding when you consider the fact that Nigeria has over 50,000 thousand residents in America.
