This is the British government support for tyranny I have always been talking about.
The British government policy towards Nigeria has not changed since the 60s.
It may modify but it has not changed.
Support a tyrannical govt that can keep the status quo. |

Lawliet: Red pillers are nothing without women.
It is what they eat, what they dream of, what they talk of. Everything a red piller does is dedicated to a woman.
This op is a perfect example. You claim women should be treated as second class and they shouldn't use their beauty and sexual gifts to trance men. Yet here you are, sitting down to analyse women as you are the trances one. I'm sure most of your posts have the same ingredient, woman.
You had better pursue money and forget woman because no sane woman will associate herself with a bitter sad soul who crave the affection of a woman but can never get it. Can I PM you.? |

TheRareGem1: But there is nothing derogatory about it. And the lyric says I'm In love with inyamuri". Meaning I'm in love with Igbo. We have our own name given to Igbo as also yoruba That is also another angle. The name may have been so used up north that it has lost its real derogatory meaning. To some of them like Di'ja, it may just be like any other name. Because I don't think she is stupid enough to intentionally play a tribal card on a music video. It could just be a honest mistake. |

Politics › Re: Malami: National Assembly Has No Power To Summon Buhari by CSTRR: 6:40am On Dec 10, 2020 |
plaindealer: No, it can not, they don't have that authority, same in Nigeria.
You are free to state otherwise with documented and constitutional facts or even past precedents.
In America the so called defender of democracy where we copied our democracy from, their congress couldn't make Trump show up for his own impeachment or for any kind of congressional activities apart from state of the union address. So, is your democracy better than American democracy?
Trump even prevented members of his own admin from testifying before the legislature so what are you talking about?
I just don't know why you people think the legislature is constitutionally superior and above the executive and they can do anything they want or order around the oêther branches. Trump is a law breaker. He has no respect for norms or laws. He has broken quite a few laws as president. That is why he is one of the few Presidents to be impeached in a very long while. The only reason why he was not removed from office was because the senate is led by republicans. That is why he is not winning a second term. Even Bush the warmonger and recession creator won a second term. Trump is an outlier. He is not the definition of American presidency. If congress calls, the president must answer. They are the representative of the people. |

Politics › Re: Malami: National Assembly Has No Power To Summon Buhari by CSTRR: 9:00pm On Dec 09, 2020 |
plaindealer: Military constitution or Malami talking about the constitution doesn't change the fact that the Legislature can not in anyway command or demand the appearance of the president before the legislature, it's grossly unconstitutional, it's beyond their scope of constitutional duties.
They also can not question the president per any issues relating to the operational activities of the Nigerian military because the military is under the control of the executive as the commander in chief of the armed forces.
The Nigerian legislature is full of not too enlightened people, they talk and make threats without thinking or consulting the constitution, they do this all the time and always end up keeping quiet.
Btw, in America, their congress cannot make or force the president to show up before them so is their constitution also military constitution? In America, the congress can summon the president especially in critical situations like the security situation in Nigeria. If he refuses to show up, they would declare a vote of no confidence and he can be removed from office by the power of congress. National assembly call, you must answer. If you choose not to, then you suffer the consequences. That is true democracy. |

bolaayenimo: What's the essence of National Assembly sef? They asked him to sack Service Chiefs, he refused They summoned him, he refused That's why we need a constitutional restructuring. The president can do that because impeachment is not easy under current laws. If we modify the laws to make impeachment as easy as just 2/3 of national assembly is required, presidents would not dare misbehave. This constitution is not a democratic constitution. |
Politics › Re: Ozekhome Counters Malami, Says NASS Has Constitutional Powers To Summon Buhari by CSTRR: 8:44pm On Dec 09, 2020 |

Politics › Re: Malami: National Assembly Has No Power To Summon Buhari by CSTRR: 8:40pm On Dec 09, 2020 |
plaindealer: This is your opinion which you are entitled to, but it's not constitutional facts unless you are able to show us the particular portion of the constitution that opined that the legislature can demand the appearance of the president which I'm 100% you can not, all you have is your own opinion that's not rooted in constitutional facts and precedents.
Power of the purse or investigation has nothing to do with summoning the executive. Try at least by showing us the relevant part in the Nigerian constitution that says the legislature can summon the executive. The constitution is not a Democratic constitution. It was created by military despots. You should be asking for a change to civilian constitution instead of defending a faulty constitution. Malami should be talking about changing it not trying to support a poor constitution. |
Politics › Re: Malami: National Assembly Has No Power To Summon Buhari by CSTRR: 7:07pm On Dec 09, 2020 |
Dijita: If they have cause they can call him to come and testified in his own impeachment. If he failed to show up he can be impeached not because he did not show up but because he did not defend the allegation against him. The moment the legislature have the power to force president to appear before them they have become more powerful than the president. The 3 branches of government are equal and as such one cannot force the other to appear before it. It is the principle of separate and equal. This is absolute nonsense. Shut up. |

A constitution where the representative of the people can not invite an elected president to give account of his stewardship.
