Rivers state is an artificial creation. The borders make no sense. I have pointed this out in the past and was accused of land grabbing. There are so many Igbo communities from Imo and Abia trapped in that quagmire.
Well, go to the supreme court.
Politics › Re: Imo To Recover Oil Wells From Rivers by CSTRR: 12:01pm On Nov 21, 2020
I think It is very necessary.

It shouldn't have mattered where the oil wells fell in given the homogeneous nature of the ethnic groups.

But with Wike pulling some crazy moves, I wouldn't blame the East for getting all that is theirs by any means possible.

NORSIYK:
Only a foolish Igbo will even consider voting APC after their 5 years plus disaster and alienating Igbos from any meaningful appointment.
PDP right from the formation of it has carried Igbos along and with every other regions, PDP hasn't discriminated against any region throughout the time they were in power.
Can you say that about apc?
They should translate their "carrying along' to more visible projects in the East.

Don't just carry the igbo elites along, carry the common people along as well.

If they can do that, they would deserve Igbo loyalty.

Aso rock is a Hausa speaking joint.

I agree with u to an extent. But,apart from Innoson vehicles, that assembles cars in Nigeria, which other automobile manufacturers or assembly plant do we have in this country?
If we could get up to say 6 assembly plants in Nigeria then the FG can increase the import duties the way it wants. Get my point now?
Why would Toyota or Hyundai set up in Nigeria when it is cheaper to just send from Japan and south Korea?

I hear Hyundai would soon be exporting to Nigeria FROM Ghana.

Bravo.

infact now i'm beginning to believe competition is better than protectionism. Because protectionism favours the manufacturers and oligarchs in Nigeria while, competition favours the consumers due to cheaper price.
Do you even know the meaning of competition?

You are competing with countries with cheap power and low inflation rates.

I don't blame you sha.

You are not a manufacturer.

If gbajagbamiala is defending the police, I can understand.

He needs relative peace to loot, and also a police to protect him and his loot.

But when one Tajudeen living in one room somewhere, practising 1-0-1 feeding system, still defends police brutality and condemns any form of protest, then it is clear he is suffering from Generational Curse.

Politics › Re: Katsina Hisbah Destroys 300 Cans And Bottles Of Alcohol (Photos) by CSTRR: 10:55am On Nov 19, 2020
NaMeAboki:
There you go again reasoning unintelligently without any logic at all.

Get this straight; the right to religion is guaranteed in the constitution, so you cannot deny Muslims their right to practice their religion whether in a Christian dominated state or not and vice versa for Christianity.

If we are to apply your logic of denying Muslims their rights in a Christian dominated state then you cannot complain about Katsina state (which is Muslim dominated) - even though it has not infringed on anybody's rights.

As already mentioned; alcohol is not a fundamental requirement in Christianity; therefore banning it in Katsina and others Sharia states is not an infringement on Christian rights

No, not at all, the constitution is not lopsided or incomplete - only you brain seems to be; because it is clearly incapable of logical and objective reasoning.

Just to make it quite clear: a state is free to make laws as it sees fit, provided such laws do not contradict the constitution; the sale and consumption of alcohol, among other things, is not protected by the constitution - I am sure you are not even aware that the FG has banned the sale and consumption of Ogogoro since 2018 for health reasons (it even made front made here in Nairaland).
https://www.nairaland.com/2365835/fg-bans-sale-consumption-local
Common sense is not common.

Let me break it down for you again.

Nigeria is a secular state, which supposedly guarantee the right of PEOPLE to practice their religion and lack of religion aa the case may be.

An atheist cannot force his lack of religion on a religious person , neither can a religious people force their religion on others.

That's what it means to be secular. That's what the constitution supposedly guarantee.

If you force your Islamic beliefs on non religious people in the north and ban the sale of alcohol to people who have no problem with it, you have flouted their rights.

It's not different from Wike waking up tomorrow and closing all the mosques because it annoys some Christians in the state.

Now, if the constitution protects the rights of Muslims to eat and drink what they want anywhere, but does not do the same for non religious PEOPLE or atheists or even liberal christians, then It is no longer secular.
It's now a theocratic constitution.

And the Nigerian constitution was meant to be secular.
It's just a failure of government and the judiciary that has hampered their total enforcement.

This is simple, but your fanaticism will not make you see it.

The Igbo is the reason Nigeria is where she is. An Igbo named J.T.U Aguiyi-Ironsi used a military decree to create this system of government that has kept Nigeria where She is.
Oh really.

A coup Of the early 60s is the reason why your trusted leaders have been looting and wrecking the country since then?

Does Ironsi have two heads?
Did he possess more powers than other heads of state and Presidents that came after?

Well since Igbo is the cause of the problem, elect an Igbo to correct it.

Apparently, Igbos are the only ones with balls to do what needs to be done.

No tribe has actively clamoured for secession except Igbos. Every Igbo is a biafran secessionist, just that some do theirs openly while others are closet secessionists. Such elements cannot truly be trusted.
Your trust is irrelevant.
We have seen how those you trusted have helped Nigeria.
Looting and destroying the country to the bare bones.

If you value your one-nigeria, an Igbo president is a must.

It should be as simple as that.

I expect Igbo leaders to be assertive.

Politics › Re: DJ Switch To CNN: Nigeria Is A Dictatorship With A Democratic Face by CSTRR: 10:03pm On Nov 18, 2020
What we are seeing in Nigeria is a clash between the old and the new.

Old men who are used to military coups and dictatorship versus kids who have known democracy all their lives.

Both sides are stunned.

The old men are baffled by the insult and the audacity, while the kids are baffled by the realisation that their country was never a democracy.

When you listen to Femi adeshina talk about how buhari supposedly exercised restraints, you know this is the correct situation of things.

Politics › Re: Katsina Hisbah Destroys 300 Cans And Bottles Of Alcohol (Photos) by CSTRR: 9:31pm On Nov 18, 2020
NaMeAboki:
Very silly and illogical comparison.
Salah or salat i.e. prayers is a religious obligation for Muslims guaranteed by the constitution; while production, sale and consumption of alcohol is not for Christians - hope you can appreciate the difference now.
Guaranteed by the constitution?
Really.
Going by your earlier logic, why should I care about Muslim rights in a Christian dominated state?
Many Christians don't have problem with alcohol.
So you are infringing on their rights.

The same constitution guarantee freedom of human rights.
Freedom to live anywhere in Nigeria without fear.

If a constitution guarantees you the right to be Muslims even in a deeply Christian state, but does not guarantee the rights of people to eat or drink what they want in certain States due to religious reasons, can't you see that that constitution is lopsided and incomplete.?

Our engineering researchers are nothing to write home about. Other countries are building, innovative and industrious but our own are good at getting degree, masters and PhD

What is the funding for education and research in Nigeria?

Starr from there.
