The Constitution states that a presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 2/3 of the number of states AND ABUJA.

In other words, if a presidential candidate fails to win 25% of votes of Abuja residents, he is not qualified to become president of Nigeria.

It's even fair enough.

Other states elect Governors, but Abuja doesn't.
Because the presidents through his minister is their governor.

They have to get a special say in who becomes president because it directly affects them .


It's fair to any objective mind.

They depend on the president to be their governor and to appoint them a minister.
