Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Is A Nigerian Salary Earner Of 500k Per Month Considered Rich? by Cti28(m): 12:47pm On May 26, 2022 |
ObosiUkwalla: So I was arguing with a friend who stays in the states and he keeps saying I am a rich guy.
Current salary is about 512k per month (take home), and has an annual increment of 15% of your take home. This is aside perks of perdiem anytime I travel outside work base (15k per night).
Anytime he wants me to have minor something done in NG on his bahalf, he expects me to use my money and whenever I ask, he tells me not to complain that I am rich (he knows what I earn), I don't have a problem doing those things for him.
I don't see myself rich and pls guys, what can someone earn in Nigeria to be termed rich. Your opinions will count alot as I still find it hard getting the usual daily stuffs we all use. I am not married and do not have responsibilities. My mom is a retired govt worker and other siblings are all working.
Cc: seun mynd44 pls help us for more audience and opinions If I earn that amount in a month, I will have over 5 million in savings annually. So OP, your are a rich man |

pansophist: What people don't realize is that there is no such thing as a career, or I will put it this way, the people that have a fulfilling career are very tiny, and you may struggle to find one if you embark on a search for them. If the job pays you well to live a respectable life, you are good to go. The idea that you must be in a suit with a tie in an office, and that is the goal is nonsense. Arrant nonsense.
Our society and civilization are not built on suits and ties. It's hard griding work. From the peasants building and maintaining railways to long-haul drivers driving trucks interstate or even countries, to the sewage workers, the farmers, traffic guys, and so forth. These are the people that powers society, the majority in the background, not the tiny veneer of men in suits that are sprinkled on top. In other words, we live in a cappuccino society, where beneath is an untold amount of ordinary men keeping the system from crumbling, but with a sprinkle of tiny men on suits on top. Don't be deceived, it's a farce.
And here comes the most important one, which is contentment. Contentment doesn't mean settling for less, or not aspiring to be more, but it's about being okay with what you have while working to improve it. Probably Nigeria hasn't reached the peak of educated masses, but in all developed countries where most of the populations are educated up to 99% (eg Canada, US, UK), the majority of the workforce are not happy with their jobs, and even Ph.D. holders do taxi jobs.
This is sad to say, but personally, I see how many of my ex-classmates torture themselves just because they think life after school should be nirvana. Some postpone the pain by taking more courses, embarking on more degrees, and so forth, but shifting the goal post doesn't mean the post isn't there, it's still waiting albeit, a bit farther. Perhaps if they could just see that the world is not powered by men in suits, but by men on rags, it shall be well with them. |

Penguin2: Funny how you can draw comparisons with China to make your point but if Peter Obi did this same thing, you would be among those to call him Obi China…
Now to your argument, do you even understand that China is a Communist Country while Nigeria is Democratic and Capitalist Country?
Or you don’t understand the difference between Communism and Capitalism?
And to those Chinese companies doing well like you said, do you know why? Because they appoint the best brains to head them. They do not appoint based on quota system or due to some ethnic or primordial sentiments and consideration.
Again, in China, once you are convicted of corruption, you are executed publicly which makes the public officials accountable and transparent in dealing with those state owned companies.
Can your aboki senators agree to the introduction of death penalty for corruption in Nigeria?
Please always understand things clearly before putting your mouth into them. Your reply has annihilated the 'aboki' and sent him to a state of Oblivion. It will take him a while to recover. He forgot the fact that China isn't Nigeria, where corruption, nepotism, tribalism is celebrated. Where instead of convicting corrupt individuals and handing a severe punishment to them, they are rather celebrated and promoted. |

It is unfortunate. Those killers, currently are been celebrated all over by both the so-called educated and uneducated folks. They are all singing their praise. To them, the killers have done a heroic act. Infact it is jihad.
Don't be surprised, tomorrow those killers will occupy a prominent position in this Country. |
