grandstar:
This is the World Bank rewarding the present government for implementing policies that reduce wastes such as the partial removal of petsubsidies diea and an increase in electricity tariffs.

However, the governments needs to go further. I have always been a fan of shock therapy rather than the slow and steady methods.

The price of petrol needs to be completely deregulated as already done with diesel and kerosene.

Next, should be the deregulation of the price of electricity. Once electricity providers are able to charge cost reflective prices for their power, it would encourage massive investments by the Discos into upgrading their network and Gencos into building more power plants. New players will even enter the industry with this incentive.

Government should go further and slash company taxes to 15% or less. Low corporate taxes have the incredible Incentive of encouraging massive Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) into economies that apply them. Charles Soludo said if FDI totalling 5% of GDP flows in yearly, by the fifth year, the economy will be growing too fast that it would overheat.

na only mouth Una get.....paper economist.

keep quiet . Seems u love the economic hazards that Nigerians has faced unfortunately before but let me remind you that inflation has reduced, the naira has appreciated manifestly and there are signs that prices of goods are coming down well. How can you be unconscionable to support high inflation in a country instead of economic stability. U eagerly want people not to afford good things of life and that they should struggle because of inflation. See the price disparity between trade Fair market dealers and the local retailers around you and u are here trying to justify why commodities should be more expensive to what end? For your selfish reasons or to make most Nigerians not to be able to afford necessary basic commodities for themselves and their familiies.
How can retailers be changing prices like 3-4 times or more in the space of 2 months.thats abnormal. There is no famine and yet some retailers skyrocket their prices.they are truly greedy and it's either you are a member of Lagos chamber of commerce and industry or u are a typical business man retailer who just wants to make all gains from selling market.dollar is going down now so stop your selfish stories and defense. Prices of goods must come down.the federal competition and consumer protection commission would soon visit Lagos to stop this anomaly.

The federal government is not subsidizing any petrol. A barrel of crude oil in the international market is $85 as at today, that’s the equivalent of $0.51/liter. Convert $0.51 to the current exhange rate of $1100, you get naira 561. According to the international market a price of a liter of fuel is naira 561. It hurt me so much that people who have held sensitive position in Nigeria can’t calculate this easy mathematics. The federal has not subsidized petrol since tinubu was president. We need to do our own research before coming online to embarrass ourself
you no well sha. So you know more than the owners of Nigeria and that foreign newspaper that said subsidy has returned.

Nonybb:
America can stop them. Netanyahu is just pushing his limits but the US wouldn't dare because Israel is a credible civilized ally of the US in the middle East. It serves the American interest for Israel to exist in that region. Just like when your kids threatened you, you can't help but feed that baby the next day. So Israel is a creation of the UK and sustained by the US to subsist in the midst of the uncivilized world of Arabs and the terrorist in Lebanon like Hezbollah, the Hamas of the Palestinian, ISIS of the Syrian, the Taliban of the Afghanistan, the Islamic regime of Iran and even the sponsorship of the Qatari state

Please let me make this clear because I kept seeing some ignorant post about saying that Israel are the Israelites in the Bible and kept quoting the scripture. This is false. Stop comparing the current and present Israel to the one in the Bible. They are not even identified as Israelites, they are called the "Israeli". Yes, they pray the Talmud and the gather in the synagogue but they're not the biblical Israelites. Christianity complete the Jewish religion when Messiah came, which is Jesus, as prophesied but his own (The Jewish) didn't accept him but wait for another. So you, the Christian, is an Israelite because you have the promise of Abraham, since you've accepted the sacrifice of Jesus as a redemption for your sins, so that, there are neither Jews or Gentiles
so where are the descendants of those Israelites ?

Both refineries coming on stream fully would boost our foreign currency receipt and aid appreciation of the Naira considerably simply because we have not, since 1999, had the opportunity or capacity to generate the sort of income and foreign currency the sale of refined derivatives of crude oil can deliver.

This is massively down to Tinubu for supporting the establishment of the Dangote refinery, removing subsidy and then fighting the evil cartel that never want refineries to work so they can continue making billions with crude ‘round-tripping’ and over-invoicing fraud.

Despite what the sadists and enemies of progress love to shout 24/7, Tinubu and his crew know precisely what to do to get Nigeria working again.

It is not Rocket Science. What is difficult to tackle is sabotage from so many only concerned about their own selfish and anti-Nation interest even when such mean misery and suffering for millions.
Are you ok? Didn’t you read that they are still paying subsidy that is even more than what was being paid before balablu declared that shubshidi is gone, on that fateful sad day?
