The reason I fear the Peter Obi/Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential ticket is the religious extremism of Former Kano state governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.

In case a lot of people do not remember, Kano state operates Sharia law and that law was signed in June 2000. The governor of Kano who signed that is Kwankwaso and he is not appologethic about it. This suggests that he also supports blasphemy laws and to some level, Islamic extremism.

How me a liberal christian who values my freedom of speech and rights is supposed to react to this news is what supporters of Peter Obi need to inform me how I am supposed to feel.

If we can recall, the US government recently named Kwankwaso as a problem as regards this same matter. Is this the kind of person we want as vice-president?

Before you say he was reluctant to sign the bill into law remember he had a choice to not sign at all but he choice to show weakness or tactically support a law that turned the state into a Muslim state. In fact, Kano was the second state in Nigeria to allow Sharia law after Zamfara which meant it was not even widespread in that time, he just wanted to raise one religious tenets over the other.

Lets think about this before coming to campaign to Christians because Kwankwaso can potentially become president if something happens to his principal, then what? We become a sharia state? We are forced to observed Ramadan?

Obi calls the shots and will jail the Islamic findamentalist, no matter who he is.

The ADC was the agreed opposition coalition party. Both Peter Obi and Kwankwaso joined and left. Atiku and others didn't. A Southerner can't displace a Southern incumbent from power or vice versa. Tinubu understood that fact as far back as 2015 when he travelled to Daura to convince Buhari out of retirement to come help get his Southern brother out of power. If time was reversed and Tinubu and the SW find themselves in this same position that the Southeast currently is, they will back the Northern candidate again. Just like in 2015.
