Konquest: The Nigerian CBN Governor ('Yemi Cardoso) gave hints and warnings before EFEMS was introduced and it's ONLY discerning and savvy folks that took notice and actions based off of the FACT that similar FX trading systems exist in advanced financial markets in the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Germany, India, etc, to remove inefficiencies (and speculative manipulations from black marketers) in FX flows. This transparent and successful system used in other climes is what the Nigerian Central Bank keyed into as well for the FIRST time ever in Nigerian financial markets history!
The newly introduced Electronic Foreign Exchange Matching System [EFEMS], which commenced real-time, live trades in the FX markets based off of the Bloomberg BMatch platform on Monday last week (December 2, 2024) is novel and will cause a major tectonic shift in the system leading right into 2025 and beyond while providing real-time transparency on trading terminals and gradually place illegal black market speculators right behind the curtain where they belong.
All the usual West African Sahelian illegal black marketers interviewed in this newspaper article have absolutely NO full idea about what has hit them and what is going on with the new BloombergBMatch-linked EFEMS. They are ONLY aware about the usual FX inflows from Diasporans to their Continental Africa relatives which is of course correct. But this situation of sustained Naira appreciation is novel to these black marketers and other currency speculators around this holiday/year ending period. This is why I can see some sarcastic comments on this thread. But note, EFEMS is like NO other that has ever been seen.
There will definitely be an equilibrium, but EFEMS has come to stabilize the multiple exchange rates into one transparent window. 2025 will certainly be a great year for FX stability so that international businesses and investors with ties to Nigeria will NOT continue to suffer from severe exchange rate loses. But time will tell.
story story.
That was how you guys yapped about Dangote being the game changer , how binance CEO being in prison will be game changer and other rubbish. Una don start again . Not even one of Una wishes/ permutations have come true. Doesn’t it tell you mumus that it’s not by wishes?
flokii: Naira will perform well in January, 2025.. with Trump's incoming policies especially on immigrants and citizenship by birth, economies around the world will rebound, no more running away to America. A lot of Nigerians will return home to settle and invest. Things will change for the better.
Skynetdotio: "The exits enable investments to deepen further in countries where Equinor can add the most value and build a more focused and robust international portfolio,"
Just an euphemistic way to say we would not continue to sink our resources into natural shitholes without the recompense stability and profit as a global business brand... Somebody say, toh...
In other words, Nigeria no get any value to add to their business. Yet, some idiots known as agbadorians , that their generation has always known poverty are here, writing rubbish.
BiafranPatriot: If they thought it viable .will they LEAVE. ?Experts are leaving and shell companies are buying assets on behalf of Criminals in Power and you think its investment.
Emergency Nigeria lover from sad and hatred region is in pain
E onomic indices is proofing them wrong and putting them to shame.
They want dollar to be 5k - they fail They want rice to be 200k - they failed They lie that Netflix is leaving - yet it's a lie Nigeria foreign reserve is growing More export than import PH refinery is working - they are crying
I cannot but pity these headless mob, they're really going through a lot.
Be deceiving yourself. So rice at 120k is ok ?
Was that the price TIfnubu met it?
All you know is to come here and spew rubbish daily.
richmond500: APC didn't take it from 180. The 180 price was when the naira was defended and pegged to the dollar, we don't know the real price. Though I'll appreciate it if it can come down to 400, anything less is not welcomed
Fry your brain for refusing to admit that Tinubu Graduated from Chicago State University with Honors in 1979!
Una don go bring pictures out😁😁😁.
There should be no controversy if he actually graduated. Don’t you think so ?
It’s like contesting that you graduated from the university you attended, that is, if you actually attended one , because agbadorians are fraudulent like their oga .
Electorate: Village boy, travel go city, visit places like Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, VGC etc you will marvel you are in Nigeria...there are places more beautiful than what you are seeing in that picture, Infact, there are places exactly like that in some part of Jos where foreigner live because of the weather in Jos.
You think every part of Nigeria must look like your village.
Oga just because you are not privileged to live in beautiful places in Nigeria doesn't mean there are no beautiful places in Nigeria, The wealthiest black man Dangote and his fellow Billionaires lives in beautiful places in Nigeria not in slums or places that looks like your village, some of them have houses abroad too...use your head
I should visit places like lekki,Victoria Island and ikoyi 😁😁😁😁.
Are you for real?
I’m sure you are from one remote village in osun state, if Victoria island can WOW you.
Electorate: Mumu boy, below is a picture of just a portion of a single street in ikoyi Lagos Nigeria....does that look like people living on trees to you like your white masters brainwashed you to believe?....ewu Gambia...oloriburu somebody.
Mumu boy or do I have to travel abroad before I can see skyscrapers like the one in that picture?...your head must be paining you too much.
please don’t quote me again… we are talking about cities you Dey show me ikoyi 😁😁😁😁.
Na monkeys like you Dey tell us say tifnubu built Lagos, and I keep wondering if it’s not the same Lagos I stay.
smokinloud: Nigerian youths need to wake up and take responsibility for their future. Instead of constantly blaming politicians like Tinubu for the country's problems, they should focus on finding solutions and contributing to the nation's growth. It's alarming that with a population of over 200 million, we're still reliant on foreign innovation in our film industry - a sector that should be thriving with local innovations and talents.
Craze boy… you people must show your madness on every thread. If we don’t blame Tinubu, na your papa we go blame ?
You are so daft to know that there has to be an enabling environment for people to thrive, and this has to be provided by the government?
Electorate: Village boy, travel go city, visit places like Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, VGC etc you will marvel you are in Nigeria...there are places more beautiful than what you are seeing in that picture, Infact, there are places exactly like that in some part of Jos where foreigner live because of the weather in Jos.
You think every part of Nigeria must look like your village.
Oga just because you are not privileged to live in beautiful places in Nigeria doesn't mean there are no beautiful places in Nigeria, The wealthiest black man Dangote and his fellow Billionaires lives in beautiful places in Nigeria not in slums or places that looks like your village, some of them have houses abroad too...use your head
you are really daft. I won’t waste my time with a low life like you. Stick to what you know.
We are talking of beautiful cities , not one community where dangote or whoever stays.
Where have you been to outside Nigeria, you fuulll?
When people that know better than you are talking, stay humble and learn.
If you are not an agbadorian, which I’m guessing you are, God might give you an opportunity to see outside so your eyes go clear.
But if you are an agbadorian, Thunder go fire you, and you’ll die poor, because agbadorians love poverty .
Temptation147: Baba Capetown is one of the most beautiful places in Africa, Tinubu is there, when he comes back he will tell you wetin he use his eyes see for there
Thunderfayamods: I wasn't drawing any comparison neither did I tell you that Nigeria is more beautiful than SA. All I said was "there are places like that in Nigeria" Whoever told that I haven't entered Cape Town?
I’m telling you there are no places like that in Nigeria.
Compare Capetown to world class cities, not shitholes cities in Nigeria .
NO, You have not been to Capetown. In fact, you have not been outside Nigeria before.
The DIFFERENCE between Nigeria and those countries is that they have maximum 2 or 3 large cities while Nigeria has over 30 cities. Development is more WIDESPREAD in Nigeria.
Kenya uses all its money to build Nairobi while Nigeria builds MANY MORE CITIES.
This video is of just ONE city in Nigeria no one talks about, Asaba, yet look at the impressive infrastructural development going on there.
Free2Fly: Another yeye excuse from people who want to make Nigerians suffer just for their selfish interest of securing lagos' VATs Which poor people were excluded? There are over 133million poor people in Nigeria. How many of them are workers? Majority are petty traders And they'll pay VATs when they buy things they need, the usual levies they pay at their shops, market places will be increased and inflation will also catch up with them.
Leave all these emilokan fools . Them think say na them fellow illiterates dem Dey talk to.
They are devils .
That’s how the devil paint evil as good to entice people.
How doe it exempt the poor that will pay for goods and services through their noses because of the VAT increase ?
Like his principal that rejected subsidy removal in 2012, VAT hike will favour him at this time.
A lot of Nigerians are criminals. Majority of those talking against corruption now, is because they are not the ones in charge of stealing. Like this idiotic hypocrite, put them where they can steal and watch them sing a different song.
