30-year-old Queen Nwazuo had been looking forward to a happy married life with her fiancé Monday Bakor before her life was cut short by a stray bullet in Rivers State.

IgbereTV reports that that the final year student of Aba State Polytechnic died on October 22, after she was hit by a stray bullet allegedly fired by some policemen in Oyogbo Local Government Arae of the State.

A month before her painful death, she shared photos of herself at an eatery enjoying a plate of food and bottle of Coca-Cola drink.

I'll try to make this as brief as possible. I stopped believing in God finally last year. I grew up in a very religious Christian family, but I became an unbeliever after analysing religion. I'm the only one living with my mother and few weeks ago she engaged me in a discussion about why I'm allowing the devil use me, I told her the Devil is not using me as I don't believe in him either. I went on to carefully explain to her why I think God probably does not exist and even if he does,there is no way to ascertain that Christianity is the right religion amongst other thousands of religions. Honestly I wasn't trying to get her to stop being a Christian or anything I was just trying to let her understand my stand because she has been worried for a long time. That night around 1am I woke up from sleep to hear her crying, I tip toed to her room and saw her kneeling down praying and crying uncontrollably she was actually praying for me and for God to reveal himself to me. Seeing her cry hurt me a lot and I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. Waking up the next morning I noticed she didn't do her normal morning devotion and prayers. I wasn't happy with the development but I ignored her. She came back in the night and still didn't pray. I had to reluctantly ask her why she was no more praying, she coldly replied me saying "Shea you said prayer doesn't work and there is no God" and she walked away. I've been really really upset because I know she can't actually do without religion. This is what she has known all her life, she's a Sunday school teacher. She needs religion because her life is centered on it. My father died Early this year and I'm due to go for NYSC by next month. pls how do I resolve this situation cos it breaks me to see her so sad and dejected and it might be worse when I leave. Should I pretend to have had an encounter with God or something. I really could use some advice here. If you don't have any just avoid the thread.

There are certain emotions and things you don't reveal to your mom no matter how it worries you it is better to keep it within yourself or best reveal it to any fatherly figure in your life or someone manly and wise enough you can share this new found truths or temporary emotions with. This is one thing i learnt early even though i still let some emotions like anger slip through which leaves my mother thinking i am sad about life making her worried and eventually unhappier than me. No matter the amount of self love you possess the chances of your mom loving you more than you love yourself is quite huge. No mother will be happy living with the fact that her child will burn in an actual hell forever. To you it is an old belief while to her it is a fact that you will burn in hell. The best thing to do is to pretend to love,pray and believe in what ever that will make her happy because life is too short atleast let her grow old knowing if she leaves earth anyday you will be fine and reunited with her in the place called heaven.

Bride price laws were created because men saw women as less than human and wanted to treat them as mere commodities that can be exchanged for property or money.
But men are now the ones blaming women and complaining of bride price laws because Buhari economy is holding their necks and dealing with their bank accounts. If it was in an era when there were still many jobs and the economy was good I can bet my last kobo that the same men complaining of bride price will be vehemently insisting that it should be paid because they like the idea of buying and selling women like cows.

Were you there when this particular law was created? Bride price in some parts where i come from from is 5 naira. Does this mean the bride was sold for 5 naira? How about dowries? Does this mean these same men also saw their boys as commodities? if your father,elders and uncles have bastardized and altered the culture of where ever you come from just to satisfy their own greed that is your personal or should i say family problem. Some greedy uncles and parents take advantage of these things especially when the parents of the girl is not well informed about the rites and traditions of where he comes from. That is why it is good for a man to know tradition so you won't fall prey to these things.
If bride prices are this high how come even the most poorest individuals in history all got married? Do you know any Father knowledgeable in tradition can actually take his daughter back by simply paying back the bride price to the man incase he thinks the man can't take good care of his daughter? It was also a means to dissolve the union between two people whose marriage didn't work. Before divorce laws and marital laws were written their had to be a means to show two people were married i don't see why it is too hard to grasp.


A bride price was originally a piece of agreement between two families to allow the union of their sons and daughters to start a family together.
Abi na mouth you want make your ancestors take show say two people na husband and wife? It was just an agreement that could have been written on a piece of paper with signatures by both parties involved to acknowledge that this two familes shared something in common. abi na for sand or or mud house dem go write the agreement?

Since all of una too get sense. What would you have done if you were in their shoes? What would you have in place of the African or Igbo traditional way of marriage? There was nothing like courts,pen or paper in those times.

After videos of the recently pillaged CACOVID-19 relief items which was discovered in a warehouse in Lagos and Osun i think it will only be wise Nigerians know the total monies that was donated and who actually made these donations. A total of ₦30,148,637,264.27 was received by 30th June 2020 which was supposed to be for relief items like medical supplies and food items but ended up being squandered by those in charge of disbursing it. If the government is serious about regaining people's trust it will only be fair to make public a detailed information regarding the way the money was spent and how much every state received and those who stole from this same fund should be charged to court for embezzlement.

I just met a guy last month ending, we exchanged numbers and started chatting. He asked me out.. I really enjoyed chatting with him, just him alone. So few days after, he invited me to his house. I declined but I noticed that he stopped chatting with me.

Few days after, he asked about my genotype without even greeting me. I counter questioned him and he attacked me, claiming that he is not happy with me. I replied that 'I don't care'.
The next thing I received was rains of insults. Saying that I insulted him. I admitted and we settled it.

For the short times I've known him, I could see the kind of qualities I want in a man. But the problem he has and that he attested to is verbal abuse...

I noticed that anytime he invites me to his house and I declined, it always piss him off and he stops talking to me.
I decided not to visit him because it's not safe for me.

Adults hardly change especially a man who is above 30. Just pretend you are a man and you are 33 would you take advice from a 22 year old girl? The signs are all there. I saw posts advising against marrying single moms and wanted to ask the reason for such strange advise but had to hold my question after reading OP 's story. The woman you married is probably senseless or just being manipulated by forces unknown to her. How does one get a second chance at love and family and singlehandedly do things that will bring an end to it? Someone even said 98% of single moms are evil and i can't even imagine the effect this incident and others like it will have on people who plan to marry single moms. It takes extra wisdom and direction from God to marry a single mom after reading or witnessing a story similar to this. I'm concerned because i know a few good single moms that are below 30 and i can't even imagine them not getting married again due to the behavior attributed to them based on the the bad and evil things other single moms did.
Make all this single moms no go hide their love child or children for village and then claim singlehood to boost their chances of landing a spouse because that will be worse. OP try and talk to your wife. Sit her down and tell her the benefits of having equal love for the kids under her. Let her know the disadvantage of being biased so she can atleast know what she stands to lose and gain if she amends her ways or continue to ruin her family.
